A Szegö type theorem for truncated Toeplitz operators

Truncated Toeplitz operators are compressions of multiplication operators on $L^2$ to model spaces (that is, subspaces of $H^2$ which are invariant with respect to the backward shift). For this class of operators we prove certain Szegö type theorems concerning the asymptotics of their compressions to an increasing chain of finite dimensional model spaces.

Commutation relations for truncated Toeplitz operators

For truncated Toeplitz operators, which are compressions of multiplication operators to model subspaces of the Hardy space $H^2$, we obtain criteria for commutation relations. The results show an analogy to the case of Toeplitz matrices, and they extend the theory of Sedlock algebras.

Asymmetric truncated Toeplitz operators equal to the zero operator

Asymmetric truncated Toeplitz operators are compressions of multiplication operators acting between two model spaces. These operators are natural generalizations of truncated Toeplitz operators. The symmetrized bidisc has been a rich field of holomorphic function theory and operator theory. A certain well-known reproducing kernel Hilbert space of holomorphic functions on the symmetrized bidisc resembles the Hardy space of the unit disc in several aspects. A mini-max problem for self-adjoint Toeplitz matrices

We study a minimum problem and associated maximum problem for finite, complex, self-adjoint Toeplitz matrices. If $A$ is such a matrix, of size $(N+1)$-by-$(N+1)$, we identify $A$ with the operator it represents on $P_N$, the space of complex polynomials of degrees at most $N$, with the usual Hilbert space structure it inherits as a subspace of $L^2$ of the unit circle. Let T be a bounded operator on a Hilbert space H, and F = {f_j: j in J} an at most countable set of vectors in H. In this note, we characterize the pairs {T, F} such that {T^n f: f in F, n in I} form a frame of H, for the cases of I = N_0 and I = Z. The characterization for unilateral iterations gives a similarity with the compression of the shift acting on model spaces of the Hardy space of analytic functions defined on the unit disk with values in $l^2(J).
