We investigate the massless scalar quasinormal modes (QNMs) of the noncommutative $D$-dimensional Schwarzschild-Tangherlini black hole spacetime in this paper. By using the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) approximation method, the asymptotic iterative method (AIM) and the inverted potential method (IPM) method, we made a detail analysis of the massless scalar QNM frequencies by varying the general smeared matter distribution and the allowable characteristic parameters ($k$ and $θ$) corresponding to different dimensions. It is found that the nonconvergence of the high order WKB approximation exists in the QNMs frequencies of scalar perturbation around the noncommutative $D$-dimensional Schwarzschild black holes. We conclude that the 3rd WKB result should be more reliable than those of the high order WKB method since our numerical results are also verified by the AIM method and the IPM method. In the dimensional range of $4\leq D \leq7$, the scalar QNMs as a function of the different papameters (the noncommutative parameter $θ$, the smeared matter distribution parameter $k$, the multipole number $l$ and the main node number $n$) are obtained. Moreover, we study the dynamical evolution of a scalar field in the background of the noncommutative high dimensional Schwarzschild-Tangherlini black hole.
We consider quasinormal modes of the massive Dirac field in the background of a Schwarzschild- Tangherlini black hole. Different dimensions of the spacetime are considered, from d = 4 to d = 9. The quasinormal modes are calculated using two independent methods: WKB and continued fraction. We obtain the spectrum of quasinormal modes for different values of the overtone number and angular quantum number. An analytical approximation of the spectrum valid in the case of large values of the angular quantum number and mass is calculated. Although we don't find unstable modes in the spectrum, we show…
The large dimension ($D$) limit of general relativity has been used in problems involving black holes as an analytical approximation tool. Further it has been proposed that both linear and nonlinear problems involving black holes can be systematically studied in a $1/D$ expansion. Certain quasinormal modes of higher-dimensional Schwarzschild black holes with $ω\sim \mathcal{O}(1)$ were studied in the large $D$ limit using a $1/D$ expansion for the mode function. In this paper, we revisit this linear perturbation problem and obtain an analytical equation for the vector quasinormal modes $ω\sim …
The objective of this paper is to construct the accurate (say, to 11 decimal places) frequencies of the quasinormal modes of the 5-dimensional Schwarzschild-Tangherlini black hole using three major techniques: the Hill determinant method, the continued fractions method and the WKB-Padé method and to discuss the limitations of each. It is shown that for the massless scalar, gravitational tensor, gravitational vector and electromagnetic vector perturbations considered in this paper, the Hill determinant method and the method of continued fractions (both with the convergence acceleration) always …
We have found the Quasi Normal Mode (QNM) frequencies of a class of static spherically symmetric spacetimes having a {\it {smeared}} matter distribution, parameterized by $Θ$ - an inherent length scale. Here our main focus is on the QNMs for the odd parity perturbation in this background geometry. The results presented here for diffused mass distribution reveal significant changes in the QNM spectrum. This could be relevant for future generation (cosmological) observations, specifically to distinguish the signals of GW from a non-singular source in contrast to a singular geometry. We also prov…
Considering non-Gaussian smeared matter distributions, we investigate thermodynamic behaviors of the noncommutative high-dimensional Schwarzschild-Tangherlini anti-de Sitter black hole, and obtain the condition for the existence of extreme black holes. We indicate that the Gaussian smeared matter distribution, which is a special case of non-Gaussian smeared matter distributions, is not applicable for the 6- and higher-dimensional black holes due to the hoop conjecture. In particular, the phase transition is analyzed in detail. Moreover, we point out that the Maxwell equal area law maintains fo…

We study quasinormal modes (QNMs) in 5D electrically charged Bardeen black holes spacetime by considering the scalar and electromagnetic field perturbations. The black holes spacetime is an exact solution of Einstein gravity coupled to nonlinear electrodynamics in five dimensions, which has nonsingular behavior. To calculate QNMs, we use the WKB approximation method up to sixth order. Due to the presence of electric charge $q_e > 0$, both the scalar and electromagnetic field perturbations decay more slowly when compared to the Schwarzschild-Tangherlini black holes. We discover that the scalar …
We analyze the thermodynamics of the noncommutative high-dimensional Schwarzschild-Tangherlini AdS black hole with the non-Gaussian smeared matter distribution by regarding a noncommutative parameter as an independent thermodynamic variable named as the noncommutative pressure. In the new extended phase space that includes this noncommutative pressure and its conjugate variable, we reveal that the noncommutative pressure and the original thermodynamic pressure related to the negative cosmological constant make the opposite effects in the phase transition of the noncommutative black hole, i.e. …
