In this work, we investigate the limit case $p=1$ of the classical Stein--Weiss inequality for the Riesz potential. We present a characterization for a special class of vector fields associated to cocanceling operators introduced by Van Schaftingen in arXiv:1104.0192. As an application, we recover some div-curl inequalities found in the literature. In addition, we discuss a two-weight inequality with general weights in the scalar case, extending the previous result of Sawyer to this case.
In this paper, we establish the existence of extremals for two kinds of Stein-Weiss inequalities on the Heisenberg group. More precisely, we prove the existence of extremals for the Stein-Weiss inequalities with full weights in Theorem 1.1 and the Stein-Weiss inequalities with horizontal weights in Theorem 1.4. Different from the proof of the analogous inequality in Euclidean spaces given by Lieb [26] using Riesz rearrangement inequality which is not available on the Heisenberg group, we employ the concentration compactness principle to obtain the existence of the maximizers on the Heisenberg …
We prove an extension of the Stein-Weiss weighted estimates for fractional integrals, in the context of $L^{p}$ spaces with different integrability properties in the radial and the angular direction. In this way, the classical estimates can be unified with their improved radial versions. A number of consequences are obtained: in particular we deduce precised versions of weighted Sobolev embeddings, Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg estimates, and Strichartz estimates for the wave equation, which extend the radial improvements to the case of arbitrary functions.
We give a classification between weighted norm inequalities of strong fractional integral operators, and their associated multi-parameter Muckenhoupt characteristics, bu considering the weights to be power functions. As a result, we extend the classical Stein-Weiss theorem to product spaces.
In this paper, we establish the following Stein-Weiss inequality with the fractional Poisson kernel (see Theorem 1.1): \begin{equation}\label{int1} \int_{\mathbb{R}^n_{+}}\int_{\partial\mathbb{R}^n_{+}}|ξ|^{-α}f(ξ)P(x,ξ,γ)g(x)|x|^{-β}dξdx\leq C_{n,α,β,p,q'}\|g\|_{L^{q'}(\mathbb{R}^n_{+})}\|f\|_{L^p(\partial \mathbb{R}^{n}_{+})}, \end{equation} where $P(x,ξ,γ)=\frac{x_n}{(|x'-ξ|^2+x_n^2)^{\frac{n+2-γ}{2}}}$, $2\le γ<n$, $f\in L^{p}(\partial\mathbb{R}^n_{+})$, $g\in L^{q'}(\mathbb{R}^n_{+})$ and $p,\ q'\in (1,\infty)$ and satisfy $\frac{n-1}{n}\frac{1}{p}+\frac{1}{q'}+\frac{α+β+2-γ}{n}=1$. Then …
The famous Stein-Weiss inequality on $\mathbf R^n \times \mathbf R^n$, also known as the doubly weighted Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality, asserts that \[ \Big| \iint_{\mathbf R^n \times \mathbf R^n} \frac{f(x) g(y)}{|x|^α|x-y|^λ|y|^β} dx dy \Big| \lesssim \| f \| _{L^p(\mathbf R^n)} \| g\| _{L^r(\mathbf R^n)} \] holds for any $f\in L^p(\mathbf R^n)$ and $g\in L^r(\mathbf R^n)$ under several conditions on the parameters $n$, $p$, $r$, $α$, $β$, and $λ$. Extending the above inequality to either different domains rather than $\mathbf R^n \times \mathbf R^n$ or classes of more general kernels …
The Tomas-Stein inequality or the adjoint Fourier restriction inequality for the sphere $S^1$ states that the mapping $f\mapsto \hat{fσ}$ is bounded from $L^2(S^1)$ to $L^6(\mathbb{R}^2)$. We prove that there exists an extremizer for this inequality. We also prove that any extremizer satisfies $|f(-x)|=|f(x)|$ for almost every $x\in S^1$.
We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the precompactness of all optimizing sequences for the Stein-Tomas inequality. In particular, if a well-known conjecture about the optimal constant in the Strichartz inequality is true, we obtain the existence of an optimizer in the Stein-Tomas inequality. Our result is valid in any dimension.
The goal of this review is to explain some recent results regarding generalizations of the Stein-Tomas (and Strichartz) inequalities to the context of trace ideals (Schatten spaces).
The Fefferman-Stein type inequality for strong maximal operator is verified with compositions of some maximal operators in the heigher dimensions. An elementary proof of the endpoint estimate for the strong maximal operator is also given.
We provide a Fefferman-Stein type weighted inequality for maximally modulated Calderón-Zygmund operators that satisfy \textit{a priori} weak type unweighted estimates. This inequality corresponds to a maximally modulated version of a result of Pérez. Applying it to the Hilbert transform we obtain the corresponding Fefferman-Stein inequality for the Carleson operator $\mathcal{C}$, that is $\mathcal{C}: L^p(M^{\lfloor p \rfloor +1}w) \to L^p(w)$ for any $1<p<\infty$ and any weight function $w$, with bound independent of $w$. We also provide a maximal-multiplier weighted theorem, a vector-valued…
Let Mf denote the strong maximal function of f on R^n, that is the maximal average of f with respect to n-dimensional rectangles with sides parallel to the coordinate axes. For any dimension n>1 we prove the natural endpoint Fefferman-Stein inequality for M and any strong Muckenhoupt weight w: w({x \in R^n: M f (x) > t}) \lesssim_{w,n} \int_{R^n} |f|/t [1 + (log^+ |f|/t)^{n-1}] Mw. This extends the corresponding two-dimensional result of T. Mitsis.
We prove a weighted norm inequality for the maximal Bochner--Riesz operator and the associated square-function. This yields new $L^p(R^d)$ bounds on classes of radial Fourier multipliers for $p\ge 2+4/d$ with $d\ge 2$, as well as space-time regularity results for the wave and Schrödinger equations.
The adjoint Fourier restriction inequality of Tomas and Stein states that the mapping $f\mapsto \widehat{fσ}$ is bounded from $\lt(S^2)$ to $L^4(\reals^3)$. We prove that there exist functions which extremize this inequality, and that any extremizing sequence of nonnegative functions has a subsequence which converges to an extremizer.
This paper studies fractional integral operator for vector fields in weighted $L^1$. Using the estimates on fractional integral operator and Stein-Weiss inequalities, we can give a new proof for a class of Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg inequalities and establish new $\divg$-$\curl$ inequalities for vector fields.
In this paper we prove a sharp trilinear inequality which is motivated by a program to obtain the sharp form of the $L^2 - L^6$ Tomas-Stein adjoint restriction inequality on the circle. Our method uses intricate estimates for integrals of sixfold products of Bessel functions developed in a companion paper. We also establish that constants are local extremizers of the Tomas-Stein adjoint restriction inequality as well as of another inequality appearing in the program.
In this paper, we study the behavior of the bounds of matrix-valued maximal inequality in $\mathbb{R}^n$ for large $n$. The main result of this paper is that the $L_p$-bounds ($p>1$) can be taken to be independent of $n$, which is a generalization of Stein and Strömberg's resut in the scalar-valued case. We also show that the weak type $(1,1)$ bound has similar behavior as Stein and Stömberg's.
We extend an estimate of Taibleson and Weiss, regarding Fourier transform of Hardy spaces, to the aniostropic setting. As consequences, we obtain necessary conditions for multiplier operators, and the anisotropic version of the Hardy-Littlewood inequality. This last inequality is strengthened with a rearrangement argument.
In this paper we study an autocorrelation inequality proposed by Barnard and Steinerberger. The study of these problems is motivated by a classical problem in additive combinatorics. We establish the existence of extremizers to this inequality, for a general class of weights, including Gaussian functions (as studied by the second author and Ramos) and characteristic function (as originally studied by Barnard and Steinerberger). Moreover, via a discretization argument and numerical analysis, we find some almost optimal approximation for the best constant allowed in this inequality. We also disc…
In this work we give some maximal inequalities in Triebel-Lizorkin spaces, which are "$\dot{F}_{\infty}^{s,q}$-variants" of Fefferman-Stein vector-valued maximal inequality and Peetre's maximal inequality. We will give some applications of the new maximal inequalities and discuss sharpness of some results.
