The strongly intense quantities and robust variances in processes of multi-particle production in pp and AA interactions at LHC energies was studied. The Monte Carlo and analytic modelling of these quantities in the framework of a quark-gluon string model were implies. The string fusion effects were also taken into account by implementing of a lattice (grid) in the impact parameter plane. Strongly intensive variable $Σ(n_F,\ n_B)$ was calculated for different energies for two values of the width of the observation rapidity windows as a function of the distance between the centres of this windows. Scaled variance $ω_n$ and robust variance $R_n$ for different energies and for different width of the observation rapidity window was calculated by MC simulations.
We analyse the prospects to detect at the LHC the neutral Higgs particles of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, when the masses of the two CP-even $h,H$ and of the CP-odd $A$ boson are close to one another, and the value of $\tb$ is large. In this "intense-coupling regime", the Higgs bosons have strongly enhanced couplings to isospin down-type fermions and large total decay widths, so that the $γγ, WW^*$ and $ZZ^*$ decay modes of the three Higgs bosons are strongly suppressed. We advocate the use of the decays into muon pairs, $h,H,A \to μ^+ μ^-$, to resolve the three Higgs boson peaks…
In principle, this paper suggests powerful laser technology as a promising instrument that can be experimentally useful to control the lifetime and branching ratio for an unstable particle decay. In a recent paper [arXiv:2101.00224], we calculated theoretically the $W^{-}$-boson leptonic decay $(W^{-}\rightarrow \ell^{-} \barν_{\ell})$ in the presence of a circularly polarized laser and we showed that the laser significantly contributed to the diminution of the leptonic decay rate. In this paper, as a continuation of the previous one, we mainly deal with the theoretical calculation of the $W^{…
The creation of lepton pairs ($e^+e^-$ and $μ^+μ^-$) via multiphoton absorption in collisions of ultrarelativistic ion beams with ultrashort high-frequency laser pulses is considered. Both the free and the bound-free production channels are addressed, where in the latter case the negatively charged lepton is created in a bound atomic state. It is shown that these nonlinear QED processes are observable when a table-top source of intense xuv or x-ray laser radiation is operated in conjunction with the LHC. We discuss the relative effectiveness of protons versus Pb ions and specify for each pair …
We consider two polarization asymmetries in the process of top-antitop production at LHC. We show that the theoretical predictions for these two quantities, at the strong and electroweak partonic one-loop level, are free of QCD and QED effects. At this perturbative level we derive two sum rules, that relate measurable quantities of top-antitop production to genuinely weak inputs. This would allow to perform two independent tests of the candidate theoretical model, with a precision that will be fixed by the future experimental accuracies of the different polarization measurements. A tentative q…
In the "intense--coupling" regime all Higgs bosons of the Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM) are rather light and have comparable masses of O(100 GeV). They couple maximally to electroweak gauge bosons, and for large ratios of the vacuum expectation values of the two Higgs doublet fields, tanβ, they interact strongly with the standard third generation fermions. We present in this note a comprehensive study of this scenario. We summarize the main phenomenological features, and the accordance with the direct constraints from Higgs boson searches at LEP2 and the Tevatro…
Intense and collimated neutrino beams are produced by charm and beauty particle decays from proton-proton collisions at the LHC. A neutrino experiment would be run parasitically without interrupting the LHC physics program during the collider run. We estimate the neutrino fluxes from proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=14$ TeV of the LHC with the designed luminosity, $10^{34} \lumi$. By mounting about 200 tons of fiducial volume of a neutrino detector at 300 $\m$ away from the interaction point, about 150,000 of charged current neutrino events per year can be observable.
Using a unified analytic representation for the elastic scattering amplitudes of pp scattering valid for all energy region, the behavior of observables in the LHC collisions in the range $\sqrt{s}$= 2.76 - 14 TeV is discussed. Similarly to the case of 7 TeV data, the proposed amplitudes give excellent description of the preliminary 8 TeV data. We discuss the expected energy dependence of the observable quantities, and present predictions for the experiments at 2.76, 13 and 14 TeV.
From the very early days of Particle Physics, both experimental and theoretical studies on proton-proton collisions had occupied the center-stage of attention for very simple and obvious reasons. And this intense interest seems now to be at peak value with the onset of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC)-studies at TeV ranges of energies. In this work, we have chosen to analyse the inclusive cross-sections, the rapidity density, the $K/π$ and $p/π$-ratio behaviours and the $<p_T>$-values, in the light of the Sequential Chain Model (SCM). And the limited successes of the model encourage us to take …
The existence of new vector-like quarks is often predicted by models of new physics beyond the Standard Model, and the development of discovery strategies at colliders is the object of an intense effort from the high-energy community. Our analysis aims at identifying the constraints on and peculiar signatures of simplified scenarios containing \textit{two} vector-like quark doublets mixing with \textit{any} of the SM quark generations. This scenario is a necessary ingredient of a broad class of theoretically motivated constructions. We focus on the two charge $2/3$ states $t_{1,2}^\prime$ that…
We compute, in the MSSM framework, the total electroweak contributions at one loop for the process pp -> tW+X, initiated by the parton process bg -> tW. The supersymmetric effect is analyzed for various choices of the SUSY benchmark points. Choosing realistic unpolarized and polarized experimental quantities, we show the size of the various effects and discuss their dependence on the MSSM parameters.
The reaction $pp \to W \ +\ γ +\ jet \ +\ X$ is considered at centre-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s} = 16$ and $40\;\tev$, including anomalous three-gauge-boson couplings $κ$ and $λ$. The possibility of obtaining limits on these quantities by comparison with the standard model is investigated. The radiation zero properties of the subprocess matrix elements are studied. CERN-TH.6753/92, DTP/92/92.
We discuss the role of the impact--parameter dependent quantities. Their use along with the available experimental data on elastic scattering at the LHC could serve for an additional insight into the asymptotics.
The results of high energy simulated experiments where a given hadronic particle impacts on a given target are statistically analyzed. The energy range of the projectiles goes from below the LHC scale up to the highest cosmic ray energies. This study was carried out by using the pre- and post-LHC versions of the hadronic interaction models QGSJET, EPOS and SIBYLL. Our analysis indicates that the post-LHC models present smaller differences in various quantities that characterize the secondary particles produced after the hadronic collisions, in comparison with the corresponding differences that…
We consider the top-antitop invariant mass distributions for production of unpolarized and polarized top quark pairs at LHC, in the theoretical framework of the MSSM. Assuming a "moderately" light SUSY scenario, we derive the leading logarithmic electroweak contributions at one loop in a region of large invariant mass, $M_{t\bar t}\simeq1$ TeV, for the unpolarized differential cross section $dσ/dM_{t\bar t}$ and for the differential longitudinal top polarization asymmetry $A_t(M_{t\bar t})$. We perform a realistic evaluation of the expected uncertainties of the two quantities, both from a theo…
In view of the searches at the LHC for scalar particle resonances in addition to the 125 GeV Higgs boson, we present the cross section for a CP-even scalar produced via gluon fusion at N3LO in perturbative QCD assuming that it couples directly to gluons in an effective theory approach. We refine our prediction by taking into account the possibility that the scalar couples to the top-quark and computing the corresponding contributions through NLO in perturbative QCD. We assess the theoretical uncertainties of the cross section due to missing higher-order QCD effects and we provide the necessary…
The measurement of polarization fractions of massive gauge bosons at the LHC provides an important check of the Standard Model and in particular of the Electroweak Symmetry Breaking mechanism. Owing to the unstable character of $\text{W}$ and $\text{Z}$ bosons, devising a theoretical definition for polarized signals is not straightforward and always subject to some ambiguity. Focusing on $\text{W}$-boson pair production at the LHC in the fully leptonic channel, we propose to compute polarized cross-sections and distributions based on the gauge-invariant doubly-resonant part of the amplitude. W…
The influence of the electron spin degree of freedom on nonperturbative electron-positron pair production by high-energy proton impact on an intense laser field of circular polarization is analyzed. Predictions from the Dirac and Klein-Gordon theories are compared and a spin-resolved calculation is performed. We show that the various spin configurations possess very different production probabilities and discuss the transfer of helicity in this highly nonlinear process. Our predictions could be tested by combining the few-TeV proton beam at CERN-LHC with an intense laser pulse from a table-top…
A long-range ``dark force'' has recently been proposed to mediate the dark matter (DM) annihilation. If DM particles are copiously produced at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the light dark force mediator will also be produced through radiation. We demonstrate how and how precise we can utilize this fact to measure the coupling constant of the dark force. The light mediator's mass is measured from the ``lepton jet'' it decays to. In addition, the mass of the DM particle is determined using the MT2 technique. Knowing these quantities is critical for calculating the DM relic density.
The search for heavy Higgs bosons at the LHC represents an intense experimental program, carried out by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations, which includes the hunt for invisible Higgs decays and dark matter candidates. No significant deviations from the SM backgrounds have been observed in any of these searches, imposing significant constraints on the parameter space of different new physics models with an extended Higgs sector. Here we discuss an alternative search strategy for heavy Higgs bosons decaying invisibly at the LHC, focusing on the pair production of a heavy scalar $H$ together with …
The LHC offers a unique opportunity to investigate an ample spectra of phenomenous ranging from the Electro-Weak (EW) to the QCD sector of the Standard Model (SM). Among the quantities which can be measured in the LHC experiments are the CP and production asymmetries for several particles in a wide variety of decay modes. In this work we discuss about the interplay between production and CP asymmetries for particles produced in proton-proton interactions and the effects of one on the measurement of the other. This kind of effects are not present in flavor symmetric machines like the Tevatron o…
Top-quark physics plays an important role at hadron colliders such as the Tevatron collider at Fermilab or the upcoming Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. Given the planned experimental precision, detailed theoretical predictions are mandatory. In this article we present analytic results for the complete electroweak corrections to gluon induced top-quark pair production, completing our earlier results for the quark-induced reaction. As an application we discuss top-quark pair production at Tevatron and at LHC. In particular we show that, although small for inclusive quantities, weak correcti…
The LHC may produce light, weakly-interacting particles that decay to dark matter, creating an intense and highly collimated beam of dark matter particles in the far-forward direction. We investigate the prospects for detecting this dark matter in two far-forward detectors proposed for a future Forward Physics Facility: FASER$ν$2, a 10-tonne emulsion detector, and FLArE, a 10- to 100-tonne LArTPC. We focus here on nuclear scattering, including elastic scattering, resonant pion production, and deep inelastic scattering, and devise cuts that efficiently remove the neutrino-induced background. In…
Magnetic monopoles have been a subject of interest since Dirac established the relation between the existence of monopoles and charge quantization. The intense experimental search carried thus far has not met with success. The Large Hadron Collider is reaching energies never achieved before allowing the search for exotic particles in the TeV mass range. In a continuing effort to discover these rare particles we propose here other ways to detect them. We study the observability of monopoles and monopolium, a monopole-antimonopole bound state, at the Large Hadron Collider in the $γγ$ channel for…
The process $p\,\pbar \rightarrow W^{\pm}Z + X \rightarrow \ell^\pm_1 ν_1 \ell_2^+ \ell_2^- + X$ is calculated to ${\cal O}(α_s)$ for general $C$ and $P$ conserving $WWZ$ couplings. At the Tevatron center of mass energy, the QCD corrections to $WZ$ production are modest. At Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies, the inclusive QCD corrections are large, but can be reduced significantly if a jet veto is imposed. Sensitivity limits for the anomalous $WWZ$ couplings are derived from the next-to-leading order $Z$ boson transverse momentum distribution for Tevatron and LHC energies. Unless a jet veto…
An accurate knowledge of nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) is an essential ingredient of high energy physics calculations when the processes are involving nuclei in the initial state. It is well known now that the prompt photon production both in hadronic and nuclear collisions is a powerful tool for exploring the parton densities in the nucleon and nuclei especially of the gluon. In this work, we are going to perform a comprehensive study of the isolated prompt photon production in $ p $-Pb collisions at backward rapidities to find the best kinematic regions in which the experimen…
We propose a mechanism in which the lightness of Higgs boson and the smallness of CP-violation are correlated based on the Lee model, namely the spontaneous CP-violation two-Higgs-doublet-model. In this model, the mass of the lightest Higgs boson $m_h$ as well as the quantities $K$ and $J$ are $\propto t_βs_ξ$ in the limit $t_βs_ξ\rightarrow0$ (see text for definitions of $t_β$ and $ξ$), namely the CP conservation limit. Here $K$ and $J$ are the measures for CP-violation effects in scalar and Yukawa sectors respectively. It is a new way to understand why the Higgs boson discovered at the LHC i…
We expand the Tsallis distribution in a Taylor series of powers of (q-1), where q is the Tsallis parameter, assuming q is very close to 1. This helps in studying the degree of deviation of transverse momentum spectra and other thermodynamic quantities from a thermalized Boltzmann distribution. After checking thermodynamic consistency, we provide analytical results for the Tsallis distribution in the presence of collective flow up to the first order of (q-1). The formulae are compared with the experimental data.
Combining the hydrodynamic model (Hydro code) and the transport model (PACIAE model), we present the Hydro-PACIAE hybrid model. We use the Hydro-PACIAE hybrid model to calculate Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=130 GeV and Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76 TeV. The obtained pseudo-rapidity and transverse momentum distributions well reproduce the experimental data. This shows that the Hydro-PACIAE hybrid model is useful to describe the ultrarelativistic Heavy Ion Collisions at RHIC and LHC Energies. We used the hybrid model to calculate the elliptical flow for the Pb+Pb collisions at …
We study a realistic top-down M-theory compactification with low-scale effective Supersymmetry, consistent with phenomenological constraints. A combination of top-down and generic phenomenological constraints fix the spectrum. The gluino mass is predicted to be about 1.5 TeV. Three and only three superpartner channels, $\tilde{g} \tilde{g}$, $χ_2^0 χ_1^\pm$ and $χ_1^+ χ_1^-$ (where $χ_2^0, χ_1^\pm$ are Wino-like), are expected to be observable at LHC-14. We also investigate the prospects of finding heavy squarks and Higgsinos at future colliders. Gluino-stop-top, gluino-sbottom-bottom associat…

We present the first results on the production of pseudo-scalar through gluon fusion at the LHC to N$^3$LO in QCD taking into account only soft gluon effects. We have used the effective Lagrangian that describes the coupling of pseudo-scalar with the gluons in the large top quark mass limit. We have used recently available quantities namely the three loop pseudo-scalar form factor and the third order universal soft function in QCD to achieve this. Along with the fixed order results, we also present the process dependent resummation coefficient for threshold resummation to N$^3$LL in QCD. Pheno…
The LHC has released precise measurements of elastic proton-proton scattering that provide a unique constraint on the asymptotic behavior of the scattering amplitude at high energies. Recent reanalyses of part of these data indicate that the central values of some forward quantities would be different than initially observed. We introduce correlation information between the original and the reanalyzed data sets in a way suitable for a global fitting analysis of all data. The careful treatment of correlated errors leads to much less stringent limits on the $ρ$ uncertainty and sets up the stage …
The production of weak gauge bosons, $W^{\pm}$ and $Z$, are at the core of the LHC precision measurement program. Their transverse momentum spectra as well as their pairwise ratios are key theoretical inputs to many high-precision analyses, ranging from the $W$ mass measurement to the determination of parton distribution functions. Owing to the different properties of the $W$ and $Z$ boson and the different accessible fiducial regions for their measurement, a simple one-dimensional correlation is insufficient to capture the differing vector and axial-vector dynamics of the produced lepton pair…
