The large scale behavior of systems having a large number of interacting degrees of freedom is suitably described using renormalization group, from non-Gaussian distributions. Renormalization group techniques used in physics are then expected to be helpful for issues when standard methods in data analysis break down. Signal detection and recognition for covariance matrices having nearly continuous spectra is currently an open issue in data science and machine learning. Using the field theoretical embedding introduced in arXiv:2011.02376 to reproduces experimental correlations, we show in this paper that the presence of a signal may be characterized by a phase transition with $\mathbb{Z}_2$-symmetry breaking. For our investigations, we use the nonperturbative renormalization group formalism, using a local potential approximation to construct an approximate solution of the flow. Moreover, we focus on the nearly continuous signal build as a perturbation of the Marchenko-Pastur law with many discrete spikes.
Lower bound of the tensor-to-scalar ratio $r \mathop{}_{\textstyle \sim}^{\textstyle >} 0.1$ in a nearly quadratic chaotic inflation model in supergravity
Ensembles of quantum chaotic systems are expected to exhibit energy eigenvalues with random-matrix-like level repulsion between pairs of energies separated by less than the inverse Thouless time. Recent research has shown that exact and approximate global symmetries of a system have clear signatures in these spectral statistics, enhancing the spectral form factor or correspondingly weakening level repulsion. This paper extends those results to the case of spontaneous symmetry breaking, and shows that, surprisingly, spontaneously breaking a symmetry further enhances the spectral form factor. Fo…
The mass spectra of the standard model particles are reproduced in the $SO(11)$ gauge-Higgs grand unification in the six-dimensional warped space without introducing exotic light fermions. Light neutrino masses are explained by the gauge-Higgs seesaw mechanism. We evaluate the effective potential of the 4d Higgs boson appearing as a fluctuation mode of the Aharonov-Bohm phase $θ_H$ in the extra-dimensioal space, and show that the dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking takes place with the Higgs boson mass $m_H \sim 125\,$GeV and $θ_H \sim 0.1$. The Kaluza-Klein mass scale in the fifth dimensi…
We apply Connes-Chamseddine spectral action to the $U(1)_{\rm B-L}$- extension of the Standard Model. We show that in order for the scalar potential to reach its minimum for a non-zero value of the new complex scalar field, thus triggering the breaking of B-L symmetry, a constraint on the quartic coupling constants must be satisfied at unification scale. We then explore the renormalization flow of this model in two opposite scenarios for the neutrino sector, and show that this constraint is not compatible with the pole masses of the top quark and SM Higgs boson. We also show that the model suf…
The tensorial principal component analysis is a generalization of ordinary principal component analysis, focusing on data which are suitably described by tensors rather than matrices. This paper aims at giving the nonperturbative renormalization group formalism based on a slight generalization of the covariance matrix, to investigate signal detection for the difficult issue of nearly continuous spectra. Renormalization group allows constructing effective description keeping only relevant features in the low ``energy'' (i.e. large eigenvalues) limit and thus provides universal descriptions allo…
We calculate the low-energy spectral weight of a holographic superfluid coupled to a Chern-Simons term in IR radial scaling geometries characterized by a parameter $η$. This work was motivated by previous results where an unexpected low-energy spectral weight and a region of instability were seen, both at finite momentum, for the holographic superfluid. We characterize the effect of varying the Chern-Simons coupling $α$ and condensate charge parameter $ζ$ on these regions supporting low-energy spectral weight or a finite momentum instability. We show that $η$, $α$ and $ζ$ each plays a unique r…
Renormalization group techniques are widely used in modern physics to describe the low energy relevant aspects of systems involving a large number of degrees of freedom. Those techniques are thus expected to be a powerful tool to address open issues in data analysis when data sets are very larges. Signal detection and recognition for covariance matrix having a nearly continuous spectra is currently one of these opened issues. First investigations in this direction has been proposed in [Journal of Statistical Physics, 167, Issue 3-4, pp 462-475, (2017)] and [arXiv:2002.10574], from an analogy b…
We show that the low temperature phase of a conjugate pair of uncoupled, quantum chaotic, nonhermitian systems such as the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model or the Ginibre ensemble of random matrices are dominated by replica symmetry breaking configurations with a nearly flat free energy that terminates in a first order phase transition. In the case of the SYK model, we show explicitly that the spectrum of the effective replica theory has a gap. These features are strikingly similar to those induced by wormholes in the gravity path integral which suggests a close relation between both configuratio…
We derive the spectral indices and their runnings of single inflation models by a new approach. We perform a dilatation transformation to the linear cosmological perturbations and derive a current (non-)conservation law. Using it, we construct a dilatation charge and a Ward-Takahashi identity for the two-point correlators, and derive two \textit{exact} expressions for the tree-level spectral indices. First, we apply the slow roll expansion to one of the exact expressions. We calculate the spectral indices and their runnings up to the second and the third order of slow roll parameters respectiv…
It is shown that the slopes of the superhorizon hypermagnetic spectra produced by the variation of the gauge couplings are practically unaffected by the relative strength of the parity-breaking terms. A new method is proposed for the estimate of the gauge power spectra in the presence of pseudoscalar interactions during inflation. To corroborate the general results, various concrete examples are explicitly analyzed. Since the large-scale gauge spectra also determine the late-time magnetic fields it turns out that the pseudoscalar contributions have little impact on the magnetogenesis requireme…
