The neutrino physics program at the LHC, which will soon be initiated by the FASER experiment, will provide unique opportunities for precision studies of neutrino interaction vertices at high energies. This will also open up the possibility to search for beyond the standard model (BSM) particles produced in such interactions in the specific high-energy neutrino beam-dump experiment. In this study, we illustrate the prospects for such searches in models with the dipole or $Z^\prime$ portal to GeV-scale heavy neutral leptons. To this end, we employ both the standard signature of new physics that consists of a pair of oppositely-charged tracks appearing in the decay vessel, and the additional types of searches. These include high-energy photons and single scattered electrons. We show that such a variety of experimental signatures could significantly extend the sensitivity reach of the future multi-purpose FASER 2 detector during the High-Luminosity phase of the LHC.
The origin of neutrino mass is a big unsolved problem of the Standard Model (SM) that motivate us to consider beyond the SM (BSM) scenarios where SM-singlet right-handed neutrinos (RHNs) are introduced to explain the origin of the light neutrino masses through the seesaw mechanism. There is a variety of ways which could lead us to this goal and one of them is a general U$(1)$ extension of the SM. In this scenario, three SM-singlet RHNs are introduced to cancel the gauge and mixed gauge gravity anomalies. After anomaly cancellation, we notice that the left- and right-handed charged fermions are…
The goal of FASER, ForwArd Search ExpeRiment at the LHC, is to discover light, weakly-interacting particles with a small and inexpensive detector placed in the far-forward region of ATLAS or CMS. A promising location in an unused service tunnel 480 m downstream of the ATLAS interaction point (IP) has been identified. Previous studies have found that FASER has significant discovery potential for new particles produced at the IP, including dark photons, dark Higgs bosons, and heavy neutral leptons. In this study, we explore a qualitatively different, `beam dump' capability of FASER, in which the…
During the run III of the LHC, the forward experiments FASER$ν$ and SND@LHC will be able to detect the Charged Current (CC) interactions of the high energy neutrinos of all three flavors produced at the ATLAS Interaction Point (IP). This opportunity may unravel mysteries of the third generation leptons. We build three models that can lead to a tau excess at these detectors through the following Lepton Flavor Violating (LFV) beyond Standard Model (SM) processes: (1) $π^+ \to μ^+ ν_τ$; (2) $π^+ \to μ^+ \barν_τ$ and (3) $ν_e+{\rm nucleus}\to τ+X$. We comment on the possibility of solving the $(g-…
The search for light and long-lived particles at the LHC will be intensified in the upcoming years with a prominent role of the new FASER experiment. In this study, we discuss how FASER could independently probe such scenarios relevant for new physics searches at kaon factories. We put an emphasis on the proposed explanations for the recently observed three anomalous events in the KOTO experiment. The baseline of FASER precisely corresponds to the proposed lifetime solution to the anomaly that avoids the NA62 bounds on charged kaons. As a result, the experiment can start constraining relevant …

We explore a possibility that an inflaton, which drives the cosmological inflation in the early Universe, can be detected by the recently approved FASER at the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). We consider nonminimal quartic inflation scenario in the minimal U(1)$_X$ extension of the Standard Model (SM) with the classical conformal invariance, where the inflaton is identified with the U(1)$_X$ Higgs field ($ϕ$). By virtue of the classical conformal invariance and the radiative U(1)$_X$ symmetry breaking via the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism, the inflationary predictions (in particular, the tensor-to-…
The $(g-2)_μ$ anomaly indicates that the second generation of leptons should have new interactions beyond the standard model. The high flux of $ν_μ$ and $\barν_μ$ at the forward experiments such as FASER$ν$ and SND@LHC makes them suitable setups to search for new interactions of the second generation leptons. In this paper, we build a model in which the second generation left-handed leptons couple to a new right-handed neutrino, $N$ and a new Higgs doublet which also couples to the quarks. The scattering of high energy $ν_μ$ off nuclei can produce $N$. We investigate how forward experiments ca…
We propose the use of FASER as a light-shining-through-walls experiment to search for axions and axion-like particles (ALPs). LHC collisions generate a high intensity and high energy photon flux in the forward direction which can oscillate into ALPs in the magnetic fields that are used to confine the beam. These ALPs then pass through about 100~m of rock before reaching the magnetic fields of FASER, where they can convert back into photons and be detected by an electromagnetic calorimeter. In the next years, FASER and its successor FASER2 at the Forward Physics Facility will be able to explore…
We study the impact of non-standard neutrino interactions in the context of a new gauge boson $Z'$ in neutral-current deep-inelastic scattering performed in ForwArd Search ExpeRiment-$ν$ (FASER$ν$) and in monojet production at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We simulate the neutral-current deep-inelastic neutrino-nucleon scattering $νN \rightarrow νN$ at FASER$ν$ in the presence of an additional $Z'$ boson, and estimate the anticipated sensitivities to the gauge coupling in a wide range of $Z'$ mass. At the LHC, we study the effect of $Z'$ on monojet production, which can be enhanced in regio…
With the upcoming Run 3 of the LHC, the FASERv and SND@LHC detectors will start a new era of neutrino physics using the far-forward high-energy neutrino beam produced in collisions at ATLAS. This emerging LHC neutrino physics program requires reliable estimates of the LHC's forward neutrino fluxes and their uncertainties. In this paper we provide a new fast-neutrino flux simulation, implemented as a RIVET module, to address this issue. We present the expected energy distributions going through the FASERv and SND@LHC detectors based on various commonly used event generators, analyze the origin …
We investigate FASER@LHC perspectives in searches for light ($0.1-5$ GeV) sgoldstinos in models with low energy ($10-10^4$ TeV) supersymmetry breaking. We consider flavor conserving and flavor violating couplings of sgoldstinos to Standard Model fermions and find the both options to be testable at FASER. Even the first FASER run allows one to probe interesting patches in the model parameter space, while the second run, FASER-II, with significantly larger detector fiducial volume, gives a possibility to thoroughly explore a wide class of supersymmetric extensions of particle physics complementa…
The detection of collider neutrinos will provide new insights about neutrino production, propagation, and interactions at TeV energies, the highest human-made energies ever observed. During Run 3 of the LHC, the FASER experiment is expected to detect roughly $10^4$ collider neutrinos using its emulsion-based neutrino detector FASER$ν$. In this study, we show that, even without processing the emulsion data, low-level input provided by the electronic detector components of FASER and FASER$ν$ will be able to establish a $5σ$ discovery of collider neutrinos with as little as $5~\text{fb}^{-1}$ of …
The most general renormalizable interaction between the Higgs sector and a new gauge-singlet scalar $S$ is governed by two interaction terms: cubic and quartic. The quartic interaction is only loosely constrained by invisible Higgs decays. Given current experimental limits about $10\%$ of all Higgs bosons created at the LHC can be converted to new scalars with the mass up to $m_{\rm Higgs}/2$. This can significantly extend the reach of the LHC-based Intensity Frontier experiments. We analyze the sensitivity of the FASER experiment to this model and discuss modest changes in the FASER 2 design …

Two far-forward experimental systems are currently taking data during Run 3 at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC): FASER + FASER$ν$ and SND@LHC. They are sensitive to some classes of beyond-the-Standard Model (BSM) particles, muons and neutrinos produced in the ATLAS interaction point (IP) and propagating for several hundred meters along the tangent to the accelerator beamline, up to the caverns where they are respectively located, in opposite directions with respect to the IP. Proposals are being prepared to extend these experiments to bigger ones during the HL-LHC phase. Building a Forward Phys…
FASER$ν$ is a newly proposed experiment which will take data in run III of the LHC during 2021-2023. It will be located in front of the FASER detector, 480~m away from the ATLAS interaction point in the forward direction. Its main goal is to detect neutrinos of all flavors produced at the interaction point with superb precision in reconstructing charged tracks. This capability makes FASER$ν$ an ideal setup for uncovering the pattern and properties of a light dark sector. We demonstrate this capability for a well-motivated class of models with a dark matter candidate of mass around a few GeV. D…
SND@LHC is an approved experiment equipped to detect scattering of neutrinos produced in the far-forward direction at the LHC, and aimed to measure their properties. In addition, the detector has a potential to search for new feebly interacting particles (FIPs) that may be produced in proton-proton collisions. In this paper, we discuss FIPs signatures at SND@LHC considering two classes of particles: stable FIPs that may be detected via their scattering, and unstable FIPs that decay inside the detector. We estimate the sensitivity of SND@LHC to probe scattering of leptophobic dark matter, and t…
We study the impact of the coupling of neutrinos with a new light neutral gauge boson, $Z^\prime$, with a mass of less than 500 {\rm MeV} in FASER$ν$ experiment. Scenarios in which a light gauge boson is coupled to neutrinos are motivated within numerous contexts which are designed to explain various anomalies in particle physics and cosmology. This interaction leads to a new decay mode for charged mesons to a light lepton plus neutrino and $Z^{\prime}$, ($π^+(K^+)\to e^+ νZ^\prime$) followed by the subsequent decay of $Z^\prime$ into the pair of neutrino and anti-neutrino, ($Z^\prime \to ν\ba…
We investigate a dark sector containing a pair of light non-degenerate scalar particles, with masses in the MeV-GeV range, coupled to the visible sector through heavier mediators. The heaviest dark state is long-lived, and its decays offer new testable signals. We analyze the prospects for detection with the proposed beam-dump facility SHiP, and the proposed LHC experiments FASER and MATHUSLA. Moreover, we consider bounds from the beam-dump experiment CHARM and from colliders (LEP, LHC and BaBar). We present our results both in terms of an effective field theory, where the heavy mediators have…
FASER$ν$ is a newly proposed detector whose main mission is to detect the neutrino flux from the collision of the proton beams at the ATLAS Interaction Point (IP) during the run III of the LHC in 2022-2024. We show that this detector can also test certain beyond standard model scenarios, especially the ones in which the neutrino interaction with matter fields can produce new unstable particles decaying back into charged leptons. Models of this kind are motivated by the MiniBooNE anomaly. We show that, if the new physics involves multi-muon production by neutrinos scattering off matter fields, …
