The anomalous quartic neutral couplings of the $γγγγ$ vertex in a polarized light-by-light scattering of the Compton backscattered photons at the CLIC are examined. Both differential and total cross sections are calculated for $e^+e^-$ collision energies 1500 GeV and 3000 GeV. The helicity of the initial electron beams is taken to be $\pm\,0.8$. The unpolarized and SM cross sections for the same values of helicities are also estimated. The 95\% C.L. exclusion limits on two anomalous photon couplings $ζ_1$ and $ζ_2$ are calculated. The best bounds on these couplings are found to be $6.85 \times 10^{-16} \mathrm{\ GeV}^{-4}$ and $1.43 \times 10^{-15} \mathrm{\ GeV}^{-4}$, respectively. The results are compared with the exclusion bounds obtained previously for the LHC and HL-LHC. It is shown that the light-by-light scattering at the CLIC, especially the polarized, has a greater potential to search for the anomalous quartic neutral couplings of the $γγγγ$ vertex.
We study the sensitivity to anomalous quartic $ZZγγ$ couplings through the processes $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow Z\, Z\, γ$, $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+} Z\, Z\, e^{-}$ and $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} γ^{*} e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}\, Z\, Z\, e^{-}$ at the CLIC. We find $95\%$ confidence level bounds on these coupling parameters defining by the dimension-six operators. The best bounds on the anomalous $ZZγγ$ couplings among the three processes are obtained from $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow Z\, Z\, γ$ at a center of mass energy of $3$ TeV and an integrated luminosity of …
We have estimated the sensitivity to the anomalous couplings of the $γγγZ$ vertex in the $γγ\rightarrowγZ$ scattering of the Compton backscattered photons at the CLIC. Both polarized and unpolarized collisions at the $e^+e^-$ energies 1500 GeV and 3000 GeV are addressed, and anomalous contributions to helicity amplitudes are derived. The differential and total cross sections are calculated. We have obtained 95\% C.L. exclusion limits on the anomalous quartic gauge couplings (QGCs). They are compared with corresponding bounds derived for the $γγγZ$ couplings via $γZ$ production at the LHC. The …
We have investigated the anomalous quartic couplings defined by the dimension-8 operators in semileptonic decay channel of the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow ν_{e} W^{-} W^{+} \barν_{e}$ process for unpolarized and polarized electron (positron) beam at the Compact Linear Collider. We give the $95\%$ confidence level bounds on anomalous $\frac{f_{S0}}{Λ^{4}}$, $\frac{f_{S1}}{Λ^{4}}$ and $\frac{f_{T0}}{Λ^{4}}$ couplings for various values of the integrated luminosities and center-of-mass energies. The best sensitivities obtained on anomalous $\frac{f_{S0}}{Λ^{4}}$, $\frac{f_{S1}}{Λ^{4}}$ and $\frac{f_{T…
Gauge boson self-couplings are completely defined by the non-Abelian gauge symmetry of the Standard Model (SM). For this reason, a direct search for these couplings is extremely significant in understanding the gauge structure of the SM. The possible deviation from the SM predictions of gauge boson self-couplings would be a sign of the presence of new physics beyond the SM. In this work, we study the sensitivities on the anomalous couplings defined by dimension-8 operators related to the $ZZγγ$ and $Zγγγ$ quartic vertices through the process $e^+e^- \to Zγγ$ with Z-boson decaying to charged le…
A complete list of operators contributing at the lowest order to Quartic Neutral Gauge Boson Couplings involving photons and Z-bosons, is presented. We show that, for the couplings we consider, the lowest order contribution is from dimension 8 operators in the case when a light Higgs is present and from dimension 6 operators in the higgsless case where electroweak symmetry is non-linearly realized. We also show that these operators are generated by exchange of the Kaluza-Klein partners of the graviton in extra-dimensional models. We then explore the possibility of probing these couplings in th…
The Higgs self-interactions play a crucial role for exploring the underlying mechanism of electroweak symmetry breaking and the nature of the phase transition involved. In this article, we propose to probe the quartic Higgs self-interaction at lepton and hadron colliders, via the di-Higgs productions. We analyze the contributions of the quartic Higgs coupling, including the renormalization of the cubic Higgs coupling and the modification of the $VVhh$ form factor, to the vector-boson-fusion and the vector-boson associated di-Higgs productions at one-loop level. Such an effect is independent of…
We report on a possible measurement at the LHC using the first data and a luminosity of 10 pb$^{-1}$ of $W$ and $Z$ pair production via two-photon exchange. This measurement allows to increase the present sensitivity on $WWγγ$ and $ZZγγ$ quartic anomalous couplings from the LEP experiments by almost three orders of magnitude.
In this paper, the potentials of two different processes $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow W^{-} W^{+}γ$ and $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+} W^{-} Z ν_{e}$ at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) are examined to probe the anomalous quartic $WWZγ$ gauge couplings. For $\sqrt{s}=0.5, 1.5$ and 3 TeV energies at the CLIC, $95\%$ confidence level limits on the anomalous coupling parameters defining the dimension-six operators are found via the effective Lagrangian approach in a model independent way. The best limits on the anomalous couplings $\frac{k_{0}^{W}}{Λ^{2}}$, $\frac{k_{c}^{W…
We study the incidence of genuine quartic vector boson couplings in the reactions e-e- -> e-e-ZZ, e-νZW, ννWW. We find that a linear collider operated in the e-e- mode will provide bounds on these couplings which are competitive with those to be obtained in the e+e- mode.
We explore the capability of a 500 or 1000 GeV $e^+e^-$ linear collider to measure anomalous quartic gauge boson couplings. In the framework of a non-linear effective Lagrangian with a custodial $SU)2)$ symmetry, there are only two next-to-leading order operators which contribute to quartic, but not to two- and three- gauge boson interactions. The limits on the coefficients of these operators from present and future $e^+e^-$ colliders are compared with those available from other sources.
We establish model independent bounds on the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau-lepton using the two-photon processes $γγ\to τ^+τ^-$ and $γγ\to τ^+τ^-γ$. We use ${\cal L}=10, 50, 100, 300, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000 \hspace{0.8mm}fb^{-1}$ of data collected with the future $e^+e^-$ linear collider such as the CLIC at $\sqrt{s}=380, 1500, 3000 \hspace{0.8mm}GeV$ and we consider systematic uncertainties of $δ_{sys}=0, 3, 5\hspace{1mm}\%$. Precise bounds at $95\%$ C. L. on the anomalous dipole moments to the tau-lepton $-0.00015\leq \tilde{a}_τ\leq 0.00017$ and $|\tilde{d}_…
All lowest-order amplitudes for e+e- --> 4f+gamma are calculated including five anomalous quartic gauge-boson couplings that are allowed by electromagnetic gauge invariance and the custodial SU(2)_c symmetry. Three of these anomalous couplings correspond to the operators L_0, L_c, and L_n that have been constrained by the LEP collaborations in WWgamma production. The anomalous couplings are incorporated in the Monte Carlo generator RACOONWW. Moreover, for the processes e+e- --> 4f+gamma RACOONWW is improved upon including leading universal electroweak corrections such as initial-state radiatio…
We analyze the potential of the e+e- Linear Colliders, operating in the e-gamma and gamma-gamma modes, to probe anomalous quartic vector--boson interactions through the multiple production of W's and Z's. We examine all $SU(2)_L \otimes U(1)_Y$ chiral operators of order p^4 that lead to new four--gauge--boson interactions but do not alter trilinear vertices. We show that the e-gamma and gamma-gamma modes are able not only to establish the existence of a strongly interacting symmetry breaking sector but also to probe for anomalous quartic couplings of the order of 10^{-2} at 90% CL. Moreover, t…
Triple gauge boson associated production at the LHC serves as an interesting channel to test the robustness of the Standard Model. Any deviation from its SM prediction may indicate possible existence of relevant new physics, e.g., anomalous quartic gauge boson couplings. In this paper, a Monte-Carlo feasibility study of measuring WWA production with pure leptonic decays and probing anomalous quartic gauge-boson (e.g., WWAA) couplings, is presented in detail for the first time, with parton shower and detector simulation effects taken into account. Our results show that at the sqrt{s} = 14 TeV L…
In this paper, we examine the potentials of the processes $γγ\rightarrow W^{+} W^{-}Z $ and $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} γ^{*} e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+} W^{+} W^{-} Z e^{-}$ at the CLIC with $\sqrt{s}=0.5,1.5$ and $3$ TeV to investigate anomalous quartic $WWZγ$ couplings by two different CP-violating and CP-conserving effective Lagrangians. We find $95\%$ confidence level limits on the anomalous coupling parameters at the three CLIC energies and various integrated luminosities. The best limits obtained from the process $γγ\rightarrow W^{+} W^{-}Z $ on the anomalous $\frac{k_{0}^{W}}{Λ^{2}}…
In this work we study the sensitivity on the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau-neutrino in the framework of the $SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y\times U(1)_{B-L}$ electroweak model at future $e^+e^-$ linear colliders as the ILC and CLIC. For our study we consider the process $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow ( Z, Z', γ) \to ν_τ\bar ν_τγ$. For center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=1000-3000\hspace{0.8mm}GeV$ and integrated luminosities of ${\cal L}=500-2000\hspace{0.8mm}fb^{-1}$, we derive $95 \% \hspace{1mm}$ C.L. limits on the dipole moments $|μ_{ν_τ}(μ_B)| \leq 6.28 \times 10^{-9}$ and $|d_…

The Compact Linear Collider, CLIC, is a proposed e$^+$e$^-$ collider at the TeV scale whose physics potential ranges from high-precision measurements to extensive direct sensitivity to physics beyond the Standard Model. This document summarises the physics potential of CLIC, obtained in detailed studies, many based on full simulation of the CLIC detector. CLIC covers one order of magnitude of centre-of-mass energies from 350 GeV to 3 TeV, giving access to large event samples for a variety of SM processes, many of them for the first time in e$^+$e$^-$ collisions or for the first time at all. Th…
We present a sensitivity study on the cubic and quartic self couplings in double Higgs production via gluon fusion at hadron colliders. Considering the relevant operators in the Standard Model Effective Field Theory up to dimension eight, we calculate the dominant contributions up to two-loop level, where the first dependence on the quartic interaction appears. Our approach allows to study the independent variations of the two self couplings and to clearly identify the terms necessary to satisfy gauge invariance and to obtain UV-finite results order by order in perturbation theory. We focus on…
The sensitivities to anomalous quartic photon couplings at the Large Hadron Collider are estimated using diphoton production via photon fusion. The tagging of the protons proves to be a very powerful tool to suppress the background and unprecedented sensitivities down to $6 \cdot 10^{-15}$\gev$^{-4}$ are obtained, providing a new window on extra dimensions and strongly-interacting composite states in the multi-TeV range. Generic contributions to quartic photon couplings from charged and neutral particles with arbitrary spin are also presented.

We study new physics effects to the quartic gauge boson couplings formulated by the electroweak chiral Lagrangian. Five next-to-leading order operators characterize the anomalous quartic gauge interactions which involve pure Goldstone boson dynamics for the electroweak symmetry breaking. We estimate the typical size of these couplings in different strongly-interacting models and examine the sensitivity to directly probing them via the WWZ/ZZZ triple gauge boson production at the high energy linear colliders. The important roles of polarized e- and e+ beams are stressed. We then compare the res…
The $ZZγ$ triple neutral gauge couplings are absent in the Standard Model (SM) at the tree level. They receive no contributions from dimension-6 effective operators, but can arise from effective operators of dimension-8. We study the scale of new physics associated with such dimension-8 operators that can be probed by measuring the reaction $e^+e^-\to Zγ$, followed by $Z \to \ell\bar{\ell},ν\barν$ decays, at future $e^+e^-$ colliders including the ILC, CEPC, FCC-ee and CLIC. We demonstrate how angular distributions of the final state mono-photon and leptons can play a key role in suppressing S…
Triple gauge boson production at the LHC can be used to test the robustness of the Standard Model and provide useful information for VBF di-boson scattering measurement. Especially, any derivations from SM prediction will indicate possible new physics. In this paper we present a detailed Monte Carlo study on measuring WWW production in pure leptonic and semileptonic decays, and probing anomalous quartic gauge WWWW couplings at the CERN LHC and future hadron collider, with parton shower and detector simulation effects taken into account. Apart from cut-based method, multivariate boosted decisio…
The self-couplings of the electroweak gauge bosons are completely specified by the non-Abelian gauge nature of the Standard Model (SM). The direct study of these couplings provides a significant opportunity to test the validity of the SM and the existence of new physics beyond the SM up to the high energy scale. For this reason, we investigate the potential of the processes $γγ\rightarrow ZZ$, $e^{-}γ\rightarrow e^{-}γ^{*}γ\rightarrow e^{-}Z\, Z$ and $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} γ^{*} e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}\, Z\, Z\, e^{-}$ to examine the anomalous quartic couplings of $ZZγγ$ vertex at …
In this paper, we present detailed studies on the feasibility at $pp$, $e^-p$ and $e^+e^-$ colliders for model-independent sensitivity estimates on the total cross-section and on the anomalous $τ^+τ^-γ$ interaction through the tau pair production channels $pp \to pτ\bar τγp$, $e^-p \to e^- τ\bar τγp$ and $e^+e^- \to e^+ τ\bar τγe^-$ at the $γ^*γ^* \to τ^+τ^-γ$ mode. Measurements of the anomalous couplings of the $τ$-lepton $\tilde{a}_τ$ and $\tilde{d}_τ$ provide an excellent opportunity to probing extensions of the Standard Model. We estimate the sensitivity at the $95\%$ Confidence Level, and…
We investigate the potential of the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) to probe the anomalous $W^+W^-γ$ coupling in $γγ$, $γγ^*$ and $γ^*γ^*$ collisions through the processes $γγ\rightarrow W^+ W^-$, $e^+ γ\rightarrow e^+ γ^{*} γ\rightarrow e^+ W^- W^+$ and $e^+ e^-\rightarrow e^+ γ^{*} γ^{*} e^- \rightarrow e^+ W^- W^+ e^-$. We perform leptonic, semi-leptonic and hadronic decays channels for $W^+W^-$ production in the final state. Taking ${\cal L}=1\hspace{0.8mm}{\rm ab^{-1}}@ \sqrt{s}=0.380\hspace{0.8mm}{\rm TeV}$, ${\cal L}=2.5\hspace{0.8mm}{\rm ab^{-1}}@ \sqrt{s}=1.5\hspace{0.8mm}{\rm TeV}$ an…
We study the sensitivity of possible CLIC and FCC-ee measurements of light-by-light scattering to old and new physics, including the Heisenberg-Euler Lagrangian in the Standard Model with possible contributions from loops of additional charged particles or magnetic monopoles, the Born-Infeld extension of QED, and effective dimension-8 operators involving four electromagnetic field strengths as could appear in the Standard Model Effective Field Theory. We find that FCC-ee measurements at 365 GeV and CLIC measurements at 350 GeV would be sensitive to new physics scales of half a TeV in the dimen…
We study the range of Higgs masses predicted by High-Scale Supersymmetry and by Split Supersymmetry, using the matching condition for the Higgs quartic coupling determined by the minimal field content. In the case of Split Supersymmetry, we compute for the first time the complete next-to-leading order corrections, including two-loop renormalization group equations and one loop threshold effects. These corrections reduce the predicted Higgs mass by a few GeV. We investigate the impact of the recent LHC Higgs searches on the scale of supersymmetry breaking. In particular, we show that an upper b…
Neutral triple gauge couplings (nTGCs) are absent in the standard model effective theory up to dimension-6 operators, but could arise from dimension-8 effective operators. In this work, we study the pure gauge operators of dimension-8 that contribute to nTGCs and are independent of the dimension-8 operator involving the Higgs doublet. We show that the pure gauge operators generate both $ZγZ^*$ and $Zγγ^*$ vertices with rapid energy dependence $\propto E^5$, which can be probed sensitively via the reaction $e^+e^- \to Zγ$. We demonstrate that measuring the nTGCs via the reaction $e^+e^- \to Zγ$…
The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is one of the most popular linear colliders, planned to realize $e^{-}e^{+}$ collisions in three energy stages of $0.5$, $1.5$, and $3$ TeV. It has an energy scale never reached by any existing lepton collider. In this study, we present the sensitivity studies of the $WWγγ$ anomalous quartic gauge boson coupling (aQGC) in the three different processes $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow W^{-} W^{+}γ$, $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+} W^{-} γν_{e}$, and $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} γ^{*} e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+} W^{-} W^{+} e^{-}$ at the CLIC…

The sensitivities to the anomalous quartic gauge boson coupling $γγγZ$ are estimated via $γZ$ production with intact protons in the forward region at the LHC. Proton tagging proves to be a powerful tool to suppress the background, which allows consideration of the hadronic decays of the $Z$ boson in addition to the leptonic ones. We discuss the discovery potential for an integrated luminosity of $300\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ and $3000\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. The sensitivity we obtain at $300\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ goes beyond the one expected from LHC bounds on the $Z\rightarrow γγγ$ decay by about three or…
We present a phenomenological study of triple-Higgs production in which we estimate the prospects for measuring the form of the Higgs potential at future circular collider projects. We analyze proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 100 TeV and focus on two different signatures in which the final state is made of four b-jets and either a pair of photons or a pair of tau leptons. We study the resulting sensitivity on the Higgs cubic and quartic self-interactions and investigate how it depends on the b-tagging, tau-tagging and photon resolution performances of detectors that could…
We investigate the possibility that a (light) hidden sector extra photon receives its mass via spontaneous symmetry breaking of a hidden sector Higgs boson, the so-called hidden-Higgs. The hidden-photon can mix with the ordinary photon via a gauge kinetic mixing term. The hidden-Higgs can couple to the Standard Model Higgs via a renormalizable quartic term - sometimes called the Higgs Portal. We discuss the implications of this light hidden-Higgs in the context of laser polarization and light-shining-through-the-wall experiments as well as cosmological, astrophysical, and non-Newtonian force m…

In this paper we present for the first time a detailed Monte Carlo study of measuring WZGamma production with pure leptonic decays and probing anomalous quartic gauge-boson WWZGamma couplings at the sqrt(s) = 14 TeV LHC, with parton shower and detector simulation effects taken into account. We find that with an integrated luminosity of 100 fb-1 and proper selection cuts, the Standard Model WZGamma signal significance can be improved to as much as 3 sigma. After reviewing previous parametrization on anomalous WWZGamma couplings (see e.g.an/Lambda^2 or k2m/Lambda^2 as shown in Ref. [17]), we pro…
We examine trilinear and quartic anomalous gauge couplings (AGCs) generated in composite Higgs models and models with warped extra dimensions. We first revisit the SU(2)_L x U(1)_Y effective Lagrangian and derive the charged and two-photon neutral AGCs. We derive the general perturbative contributions to the pure field-strength operators from spin 0, 1/2, 1 resonances by means of the heat kernel method. In the composite Higgs framework, we derive the pattern of expected deviations from typical SO(N) embeddings of the light composite top partner. We then study a generic warped extra dimension f…
