We study the motion of particles in the background of a three-dimensional rotating Hořava AdS black hole that corresponds to a Lorentz-violating version of the BTZ black hole and we analyze the effect of the breaking of Lorentz invariance in such motion by solving analytically the geodesic equations. Mainly, we find that Lorentz-violating version of the BTZ black hole posses a more rich geodesic structure, where the planetary and circular orbits are allowed, which does not occurs in the BTZ background.
In this article the geodesic motion of test particles in the spacetime of a supersymmetric AdS$_5$ black hole is studied. The equations of motion are derived and solved in terms of the Weierstrass $\wp$, $σ$ and $ζ$ functions. Effective potentials and parametric diagrams are used to analyze and characterize timelike, lightlike and spacelike particle motion and a list of possible orbit types is given. Furthermore, various plots of orbits are presented.
Modified gravity theories are of great interest in both observational and theoretical studies. In this article we study the correlation between the null geodesics in the background of a four-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-Gauss-Bonnet AdS black hole, a modification of Einstein gravity, and it's thermodynamic phase transition. We study the phase structure of the black hole, using the coexistence and spinodal curves, to understand the phase transition in a extended phase space. The imprints of this phase transition features are observed in the behaviour of photon orbit radius and minimum impact pa…
In this article we study the geodesic motion of test particles and light in the five-dimensional Myers-Perry-anti de Sitter spacetime. We derive the equations of motion and present their solutions in terms of the Weierstraß $\wp$-, $σ$- and $ζ$-functions. With the help of parametric diagrams and effective potentials we analyze the geodesic motion and give a list of all possible orbit types for timelike, null and spacelike geodesics. We plot examples of the orbits and take a look at the photon region in five dimensions. Furthermore we study spacelike geodesics and their relation to the AdS/CFT …
One of the best ways to understand the gravitation of a massive object is by studying the photon's motion around it. We study the null geodesic of a regular black hole in anti-de Sitter spacetime, including a Gaussian matter distribution. Obtaining the effective potential and possible motions of the photon are discussed for different energy levels. The nature of the effective potential implies that the photon is prevented from reaching the black hole's center. Different types of possible orbits are considered. A photon with negative energy is trapped in a potential hole and has a back and fort…
We present a complete study of the geodesics around naked singularities in AdS$_3$, the three-dimensional anti-de Sitter spacetime. These stationary spacetimes, characterized by two conserved charges --mass and angular momentum--, are obtained through identifications along spacelike Killing vectors with a fixed point. They are interpreted as massive spinning point particles, and can be viewed as three-dimensional analogues of cosmic strings in four spacetime dimensions. The geodesic equations are completely integrated and the solutions are expressed in terms of elementary functions. We classif…

The BTZ black hole belongs to a family of locally three-dimensional anti-de Sitter (AdS$_3$) spacetimes labeled by their mass $M$ and angular momentum $J$. The case $M \ell \geq |J|$, where $\ell$ is the anti-de Sitter radius, provides the black hole. Extending the metric to other values of of $M$ and $J$ leads to geometries with the same asymptotic behavior and global symmetries, but containing a naked singularity at the origin. The case $M \ell \leq -|J|$ corresponds to spinning conical singularities that are reasonably well understood. Here we examine the remaining case, that is $-|J|<M\ell…
In this paper, we aim to examine the relationship between the unstable circular photon orbit and the thermodynamic phase transition for a rotating Kerr-AdS black hole. On one side, we give a brief review of the phase transition for the Kerr-AdS black hole. The coexistence curve and the metastable curve corresponding to the phase transition are clearly shown. On the other side, we calculate the radius and the angular momentum of the unstable circular orbits for a photon by analyzing the effective potential. Then combining these two sides, we find the following results. i) The radius and the ang…
We study a holographic construction of conformal blocks in the Regge limit of four-point scalar correlation functions by using coordinates of the two-sided Rindler-AdS black hole. As a generalization of geodesic Witten diagrams, we construct diagrams with four external scalar fields in the Rindler-AdS black hole by integrating over two half-geodesics between the centers of Penrose diagrams and points at the AdS boundary. We demonstrate that late-time behaviors of the diagrams coincide with the Regge behaviors of conformal blocks. We also point out their relevance with the pole-skipping phenome…
We consider conceptual issues of deep learning (DL) for metric detectors using test particle geodesics in curved spacetimes. Advantages of DL metric detectors are emphasized from a view point of general coordinate transformations. Two given metrics (two spacetimes) are defined to be conneted by a DL isometry if their geodesic image data cannot be discriminated by any DL metric detector at any time. The fundamental question of when the DL isometry appears is extensively explored. If the two spacetimes connected by the DL isometry are in superposition of quantum gravity theory, the post-measurem…
We study the existence and stability of circular geodesics in a family of asymptotically AdS static black holes in New Massive Gravity. We show that the existence of such geodesics is determined by the sign of the hair parameter. For a positive hair parameter the stability regions follow the usual pattern, with an innermost unstable null geodesic separated from the horizon, followed by a region of unstable timelike geodesics and then stable timelike geodesics extending in the asymptotic region.
We probe the phase structure of the regular AdS black holes using the null geodesics. The radius of photon orbit and minimum impact parameter shows a non-monotonous behaviour below the critical values of the temperature and the pressure, corresponding to the phase transition in extended phase space. The respective differences of the radius of unstable circular orbit and the minimum impact parameter can be seen as the order parameter for the small-large black hole phase transition, with a critical exponent $1/2$. Our study shows that there exists a close relationship between the gravity and the…
