Real-life problems are governed by equations which are nonlinear in nature. Nonlinear equations occur in modeling problems, such as minimizing costs in industries and minimizing risks in businesses. A technique which does not involve the assumption of existence of a real constant whose calculation is unclear is used to obtain a strong convergence result for nonlinear equations of (p, η)-strongly monotone type, where η > 0, p > 1. An example is presented for the nonlinear equations of (p, η)-strongly monotone type. As a consequence of the main result, the solutions of convex minimization and variational inequality problems are obtained. This solution has applications in other fields such as engineering, physics, biology, chemistry, economics, and game theory.
Let $E = L_p, \; 1<p\leq 2,$ and $A : E \to E^*$ be a bounded monotone map such that $0 \in R(A)$. In this paper, we introduce and study an algorithm for approximating zeros of $A$. Furthermore, we study the application of this algorithm to the approximation of Hammerstein integral equations, fixed points, convex optimization, and variational inequality problems. Finally, we present numerical and illustrative examples of our results and their applications.
In this paper, we extend the concept of split variational inequality problems from Hilbert spaces to Banach spaces. Then we apply the Fan-KKM theorem to prove the existence of solutions to some split variational inequality problems and some split minimization problems in Banach spaces. We also apply fixed point theorems on Chain complete posets to show the solvability of some split variational inequality problems in partially ordered Banach space.
We give an iteration scheme for finding zeros of maximal monotone operators in Hilbert spaces. We assume that the operator is defined in the whole space. The iterates converge strongly to a solution if there exists any, otherwise they tend to infinity. As an application we get a strongly convergent minimization scheme for convex functionals in Hilbert spaces.
In this paper, we present some operator and eigenvalue inequalities involving operator monotone, doubly concave and doubly convex functions. These inequalities provide some variants of operator Aczél inequality and its reverse via generalized Kantorovich constant.
It is shown that each monotone Minkowski endomorphism of convex bodies gives rise to an isoperimetric inequality which directly implies the classical Urysohn inequality. Among this large family of new inequalities, the only affine invariant one - the Blaschke-Santaló inequality - turns out to be the strongest one. A further extension of these inequalities to merely weakly monotone Minkowski endomorphisms is proven to be impossible. Moreover, for functional analogues of monotone Minkowski endomorphisms, a family of analytic inequalities for log-concave functions is established which generalizes…
We study equilibrium problems in Hadamard spaces, which extend variational inequalities and many other problems in nonlinear analysis. In this paper, first we study the existence of solutions of equilibrium problems associated with pseudo-monotone bifunctions with suitable conditions on the bifunctions in Hadamard spaces. Then to approximate of an equilibrium point, we consider the proximal point algorithm for pseudo-monotone bifunctions. We prove existence of the sequence generated by the algorithm in several cases in Hadamard spaces. Next, we introduce the resolvent of a bifunction in Hadama…
This paper investigates first-order variable metric backward forward dynamical systems associated with monotone inclusion and convex minimization problems in real Hilbert space. The operators are chosen so that the backward-forward dynamical system is closely related to the forward-backward dynamical system and has the same computational complexity. We show existence, uniqueness, and weak asymptotic convergence of the generated trajectories and strong convergence if one of the operators is uniformly monotone. We also establish that an equilibrium point of the trajectory is globally exponential…
Finding a zero of the sum of two monotone operators is one of the most important problems in monotone operator theory, and the forward-backward algorithm is the most prominent approach for solving this type of problem. The aim of this paper is to present a new preconditioning forward-backward algorithm to obtain the zero of the sum of two operators in which one is maximal monoton and the other one is M-cocoercive, where M is a linear bounded operator. Furthermore, the strong convergence of the proposed algorithm, which is a broader variant of previously known algorithms, has been proven in Hil…
In this paper, a new two-dimensional Hardy type inequality is given in terms of pseudo-analysis dealing with set-valued functions. The first one is given for a pseudo-integral of set-valued function where pseudo-addition and pseudo-multiplication are constructed by a monotone continuous function $g:[0, \infty ]\to[0, \infty]$. Another is given by the semiring $([0, 1], \max, \odot)$ where pseudo-multiplication is generated by an increasing continuous function.
Recently the behavior of operator monotone functions on unbounded intervals with respect to the relation of strictly positivity has been investigated. In this paper we deeply study such behavior not only for operator monotone functions but also for operator convex functions on bounded intervals. More precisely, we prove that if $f$ is a nonlinear operator convex function on a bounded interval $(a,b)$ and $A, B$ are bounded linear operators acting on a Hilbert space with spectra in $(a,b)$ and $A-B$ is invertible, then $sf(A)+(1-s)f(B)>f(sA+(1-s)B)$. A short proof for a similar known result con…

We establish a reversal of Lyapunov's inequality for monotone log-concave sequences, settling a conjecture of Havrilla-Tkocz and Melbourne-Tkocz. A strengthened version of the same conjecture is disproved through counter example. We also derive several information theoretic inequalities as consequences. In particular sharp bounds are derived for the varentropy, Rényi entropies, and the concentration of information of monotone log-concave random variables. Moreover, the majorization approach utilized in the proof of the main theorem, is applied to derive analogous information theoretic results …
In this paper, we obtain a new class of functions, which is developed via the Hermite--Hadamard inequality for convex functions. The well-known one-one correspondence between the class of operator monotone functions and operator connections declares that the obtained class represents the weighted logarithmic means. We shall also consider weighted identric mean and some relationships between various operator means. Among many things, we extended the weighted arithmetic--geometric operator mean inequality as $A\#_{t}B\leq A\ell_t B\leq \frac{1}{2}(A\#_{t}B + A\nabla_{t} B)\le A\nabla_tB$ and $A\…
We investigate the convergence rates of the trajectories generated by implicit first and second order dynamical systems associated to the determination of the zeros of the sum of a maximally monotone operator and a monotone and Lipschitz continuous one in a real Hilbert space. We show that these trajectories strongly converge with exponential rate to a zero of the sum, provided the latter is strongly monotone. We derive from here convergence rates for the trajectories generated by dynamical systems associated to the minimization of the sum of a proper, convex and lower semicontinuous function …
