Tau Neutrinos with Cherenkov Telescope Array

The next generation of Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov telescope, like CTA, is going to strongly improve the detection capability of high-energy cosmic rays. In our paper we discuss the possibility to use such apparatus to detect Earth-skimming tau neutrinos. Interestingly the analysis shows that order few events per year can be detected for energies above $10^8$ GeV in the optimistic case of larger neutrino fluxes produced by Flat Spectrum Radio Quasars. However, even for more conservative cosmogenic neutrino fluxes such rate will be also obtained, but for a decade of running. This estimate seems to candidate a set up like CTA for performing high energy neutrino astronomy as well.

Cosmic tau neutrino detection via Cherenkov signals from air showers from Earth-emerging taus

We perform a new, detailed calculation of the flux and energy spectrum of Earth-emerging $τ$-leptons generated from the interactions of tau neutrinos and antineutrinos in the Earth. A layered model of the Earth is used to describe the variable density profile of the Earth. Different assumptions regarding the neutrino charged- and neutral-current cross sections as well as the $τ$-lepton energy loss models are used to quantify the systematic uncertainty from these on the results. Possibility of measurement of cosmic ray electron spectrum up to 100 TeV with two-layer water Cherenkov detector array

Measurements of cosmic ray electron+positron spectrum above 10 TeV with ground-based experiments is challenging because of the difficulty of rejection of hadronic extensive air shower background. We study the efficiency of rejection of the hadronic background with water Cherenkov detector array supplemented by muon detection layer. We show that addition of a continuous muon detection layer to the experimental setup allows to achieve a ~ 1e-5 rejection factor for hadronic background at 10 TeV and enables measurement of electron spectrum in 10-100 TeV energy range. Probing the Dark Matter of Three-loop Radiative Neutrino Mass Generation Model with the Cherenkov Telescope Array

We investigate the prospect of detecting the Dark Matter (DM) candidate in the three-loop radiative neutrino mass generation model extended with large electroweak multiplets of the Standard Model (SM) gauge group, at the future imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescope known as the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA). Sensitivity of the Cherenkov Telescope Array to the detection of a dark matter signal in comparison to direct detection and collider experiments

Secluded Dark Matter in light of the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA)

Secluded dark matter is one of the most popular dark matter models, where dark matter annihilations go into particles that belong to a dark sector.
