HIP 53731 is a binary consisting of stars of the spectral types K0 and K9. Orbit of this object was constructed previously by Cvetkovi'c et al. (2016) and improved by Tokovinin (2019). It should be noted that there is an 180 degree ambiguity in the position angles of some published measurements. Speckle interferometric observations were obtained in 2007-2020 (21 measurements) at the 6-m telescope of the SAO RAS (BTA) by the authors of this article. The analysis of new data together with previously published ones made it possible to construct the accurate orbit of HIP 53731 and to halve the already known values of the orbital period of the system. As a result of the study, the mass sum, the masses of each component and their spectral types were determined by two independent methods. According to the qualitative classification of orbits, the orbital solution has grade 2 - "good" (observations cover more than half of the orbital period and correspond to different phases).
Several nearby solar-type dwarfs with variable radial velocity were monitored to find their spectroscopic orbits. First orbital elements of 15 binaries (HIP 12144, 17895, 27970, 32329, 38636, 39072, 40479, 43004, 73700, 79234, 84696, 92140, 88656, 104514, and 112222) are determined. The previously known orbits of HIP 5276, 21443, 28678, and 41214 are confirmed and updated. The orbital periods range from 2 days to 4 years. There are 8 hierarchical systems with additional distant companions among those 19 stars. The outer visual orbit of the triple system HIP 17895 is updated and the masses of a…
The results of the study of the binary HIP 18856 and construction of its orbit are presented. New observational data obtained at the BTA of SAO RAS in 2007-2019. Earlier Cvetkovi'c et al. (2016) constructed orbit for this system. However, it is based on 6 measurements, which cover a small part of the orbit. The positional parameters of the Hipparcos (ESA 1997) astrometric satellite, published speckle interferometric data (Mason et al. 1999; Balega et al. 2006, 2007; Horch et al. 2012, 2017) and new ones were used in this study. Based on the new orbital parameters, the mass sum was calculated, …
The Hipparcos catalog and its Double and Multiple System Annex (DMSA) lists 4099 components with individual proper motions and coordinates on the epoch 1991.25. Many of these long-period binary stars are also present in the Gaia Data Release 2 (DR2). Using the available relative positions and proper motions separated by 25.25 years, the equations of relative orbital motion can be solved for the two epoch eccentric anomalies, orbital period, and eccentricity. The method employs elimination of the linear Thiele-Innes unknowns and nonlinear optimization of the remaining condition equations. The q…
We present the complete set of physical and geometrical parameters of the visual close binary system GJ\,9830 for the first time by using Al-Wardat's complex method. This method combines magnitude difference from speckle interferometry, synthetic spectral energy distributions of the binary components which are constructed depending on grids of Kurucz blanketed models (Atlas9), along with the orbital solution by using Tokovinin's dynamical method to estimate the parameters of the individual components. The analysis of the system by using synthetic photometry resulted in the following set of par…
HIP 65426 b is a recently discovered exoplanet imaged during the course of the SPHERE-SHINE survey. Here we present new $L'$ and $M'$ observations of the planet from the NACO instrument at the VLT from the NACO-ISPY survey, as well as a new $Y-H$ spectrum and $K$-band photometry from SPHERE-SHINE. Using these data, we confirm the nature of the companion as a warm, dusty planet with a mid-L spectral type. From comparison of its SED with the BT-Settl atmospheric models, we derive a best-fit effective temperature of $T_{\text{eff}}=1618\pm7$ K, surface gravity $\log g=3.78^{+0.04}_{-0.03}$ and ra…
HIP 45734 is a quadruple system of 2+2 architecture located at 68 pc from the Sun. The outer 9" system A,B has a period of ~10^4 yr. The pair Aa,Ab is a visual binary with a period of 20.1 years and an eccentricity of 0.78. Its periastron in 2019.1 was observed spectroscopically, yielding masses (1.10+-0.04 and 0.98+-0.03 M_sun) and orbital parallax, 14.90+-0.37 mas. The masses, luminosities, and colors approximately agree with evolutionary models of main sequence stars. The component Aa has a detectable lithium line, whereas in Ab it is absent. The pair Ba,Bb is a single-lined spectroscopic b…
Spectroscopic orbits are computed for inner pairs in 9 hierarchical multiple systems (HIP 19639, 60845, 75663, 76816, 78163, 78416, 80448, 84789, and HD 105080) and for one simple binary HIP 61840. All subsystems are double-lined, and their periods range from 2.27 to 30.4 days. Five spectroscopic binaries are twins with equal masses. Each hierarchical system is discussed individually, providing estimates of outer periods, masses, orbital inclination, and axial rotation. For systems with three resolved visual components (HIP 60845 and 80448), the outer and inner visual orbits are determined, co…
The orbits of 8 systems with low-mass components (HIP 14524, HIP 16025, HIP 28671, HIP 46199, HIP 47791, HIP 60444, HIP 61100 and HIP 73085) are presented. Speckle interferometric data were obtained at the 6 m Big Alt-azimuth Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences (BTA SAO RAS) from 2007 to 2019. New data, together with measures already in the literature, made it possible to improve upon previous orbital solutions in six cases and to construct orbits for the first time in the two remaining cases (HIP 14524 and HIP 60444). Mass sums are obtained using both Hipparco…
We present the discovery and spectroscopy of HIP 75056Ab, a companion directly imaged at a very small separation of 0.125 arcsec to an A2V star in the Scorpius-Centaurus OB2 association. Our observations utilized VLT/SPHERE between 2015$-$2019, enabling low-resolution spectroscopy (0.95$-$1.65 $μm$), dual-band imaging (2.1$-$2.25 $μm$), and relative astrometry over a four-year baseline. HIP 75056Ab is consistent with spectral types in the range of M6$-$L2 and $T_{\rm eff}\sim$ 2000$-$2600 K. A comparison of the companion's brightness to evolutionary tracks suggests a mass of $\sim$20$-$30 M$_{…
Spectroscopic orbits are computed for inner pairs in six nearby hierarchical multiple systems (HIP 35733, 95106/95110, 105441, 105585/105569, 105947, and 109951). Radial velocities and resolved measurements, when available, are used to derive combined sets of outer orbital elements for three systems. Each multiple system is discussed individually. Additionally, HIP 115087 is a simple 7.9 day single-lined binary. Although the minimum companion mass is sub-stellar (in the brown dwarf desert regime), it appears to be a 0.2 solar-mass star in a low-inclination orbit.
Only a handful of quadruple systems with two accurate inner visual orbits are known. Architecture of two such systems is studied here to determine period ratios, mutual orbit orientation, and other parameters; updated orbital elements and their errors are derived. Gliese 225.1 (HIP 28442) is composed of three K-type and one M-type dwarfs and has inner orbital periods of 67.2+-0.2 and 23.4+-0.5 yr. Its inner orbits have small mutual inclination and are likely coplanar with the outer orbit of ~2 kyr period. The quadruple system FIN 332 (HIP 92037) consists of four early A type stars with similar…
HIP 67522 b is a 17 Myr old, close-in ($P_{orb} = 6.96$ d), Jupiter-sized ($R = 10\,R_{\oplus}$) transiting planet orbiting a Sun like star in the Sco-Cen OB association. We present our measurement of the system's projected orbital obliquity via two spectroscopic transit observations using the CHIRON spectroscopic facility. We present a global model that accounts for large surface brightness features typical of such young stars during spectroscopic transit observations. With a value of $|λ| = 5.8^{+2.8\,\circ}_{-5.7}$, it is unlikely that this well-aligned system is the result of a high eccent…
Thirteen spectroscopic orbits of late-type stars are determined from the high-resolution spectra taken with the CHIRON echelle spectrometer at the 1.5-m CTIO telescope. Most (HIP 14194B, 40523A, 41171A, 51578A, 57572B, 59426A, 62852B, 66438A, 87813B, and 101472A) are inner subsystems in hierarchical multiple stars with three or four components. The periods range from 2.2 to 1131 days. Masses of the components, orbital inclinations, and projected rotation velocities are estimated, the presence or absence of the lithium line is noted. In addition to those systems, HIP 57021 is a simple 54-day tw…

We report spectroscopic observations of the nearby, 19.5 yr binary system Gls 67 AB spanning more than 35 yr. We carry out a global orbital solution combining our radial velocity measurements with others from the literature going back more than a century, and with all other available astrometric observations. The latter include measurements of the relative position as well as the Hipparcos intermediate data and photographic observations tracing the motion of the photocentre. We derive masses for the primary and the M dwarf secondary of $0.95 \pm 0.11$ and $0.254 \pm 0.019~M_{\odot}$, respectiv…
We present the discovery of a transiting hot Jupiter orbiting HIP 67522 ($T_{eff}\sim5650$ K; $M_* \sim 1.2 M_{\odot}$) in the 10-20 Myr old Sco-Cen OB association. We identified the transits in the TESS data using our custom notch-filter planet search pipeline, and characterize the system with additional photometry from Spitzer, spectroscopy from SOAR/Goodman, SALT/HRS, LCOGT/NRES, and SMARTS/CHIRON, and speckle imaging from SOAR/HRCam. We model the photometry as a periodic Gaussian process with transits to account for stellar variability, and find an orbital period of 6.9596$^{+0.000016}_{-0…
The third Gaia data release includes a catalog of exoplanets and exoplanet candidates identified via the star's astrometric motion. This paper reports on tests for consistency between the Gaia two-body orbital solutions and precise Doppler velocities, for the stars currently amenable to such a comparison. For BD 17-0063, HD 81040, and HD 132406, the Gaia orbital solution and the Doppler data were found to be consistent, and were fitted jointly to obtain the best possible constraints on the planets' orbits and masses. Inconsistencies were found for 4 stars: HD 111232, probably due to additional…
We present orbital elements, orbital parallaxes and individual component masses, for fourteen spatially resolved double-line spectroscopic binaries derived doing a simultaneous fit of their visual orbit and radial velocity curve. This was done by means of a Markov Chain Monte Carlo code developed by our group, which produces posterior distribution functions and error estimates for all the parameters. Of this sample, six systems had high quality previous studies and were included as benchmarks to test our procedures, but even in these cases we could improve the previous orbits by adding recent …
