We present the complete set of physical and geometrical parameters of the visual close binary system GJ\,9830 for the first time by using Al-Wardat's complex method. This method combines magnitude difference from speckle interferometry, synthetic spectral energy distributions of the binary components which are constructed depending on grids of Kurucz blanketed models (Atlas9), along with the orbital solution by using Tokovinin's dynamical method to estimate the parameters of the individual components. The analysis of the system by using synthetic photometry resulted in the following set of parameters: $T_{\rm eff.}=6220\pm 100$ \,K, $\rm log~g=4.30\pm 0.12$, $R=1.10\pm0.08\,R_\odot$ for the primary component and $T_{\rm eff.}=4870\pm 100$\,K, $\rm log~g=4.60\pm 0.11$, $R=0.709\pm0.07\,R_\odot$ for the secondary component. The recently published dynamical parallax from \textit{Gaia} space mission was used to calculate the total mass of the binary system as $1.75\pm0.06\, \mathcal{M}_\odot$ which coincides with those estimated by using Al-Wardat's method as $ \mathcal{M}^{A}=1.18\pm0.10\, \mathcal{M}_\odot$, $ \mathcal{M}^{B}=0.75\pm0.08\, \mathcal{M}_\odot$.
The analysis of the system reveals that both components belong to main sequence stars with an age around $1.4\pm0.50$\,Gyr. The evolutionary tracks and isochrones of the system's components are discussed, and the fragmentation process is suggested as the most likely process for the formation of the system.
HIP 53731 is a binary consisting of stars of the spectral types K0 and K9. Orbit of this object was constructed previously by Cvetkovi'c et al. (2016) and improved by Tokovinin (2019). It should be noted that there is an 180 degree ambiguity in the position angles of some published measurements. Speckle interferometric observations were obtained in 2007-2020 (21 measurements) at the 6-m telescope of the SAO RAS (BTA) by the authors of this article. The analysis of new data together with previously published ones made it possible to construct the accurate orbit of HIP 53731 and to halve the alr…
Several nearby solar-type dwarfs with variable radial velocity were monitored to find their spectroscopic orbits. First orbital elements of 15 binaries (HIP 12144, 17895, 27970, 32329, 38636, 39072, 40479, 43004, 73700, 79234, 84696, 92140, 88656, 104514, and 112222) are determined. The previously known orbits of HIP 5276, 21443, 28678, and 41214 are confirmed and updated. The orbital periods range from 2 days to 4 years. There are 8 hierarchical systems with additional distant companions among those 19 stars. The outer visual orbit of the triple system HIP 17895 is updated and the masses of a…
The results of the study of the binary HIP 18856 and construction of its orbit are presented. New observational data obtained at the BTA of SAO RAS in 2007-2019. Earlier Cvetkovi'c et al. (2016) constructed orbit for this system. However, it is based on 6 measurements, which cover a small part of the orbit. The positional parameters of the Hipparcos (ESA 1997) astrometric satellite, published speckle interferometric data (Mason et al. 1999; Balega et al. 2006, 2007; Horch et al. 2012, 2017) and new ones were used in this study. Based on the new orbital parameters, the mass sum was calculated, …
We present the results of our 2nd radial velocity monitoring campaign, carried out with the Échelle spectrograph FLECHAS at the University Observatory Jena in the course of the Großschwabhausen binary survey between December 2016 and June 2018. The aim of this project is to obtain precise radial velocity measurements for spectroscopic binary stars in order to redetermine, verify, improve and constrain their Keplerian orbital solutions. In this paper we describe the observations, data reduction and analysis and present the results of this project. In total, we have taken 721 RV measurements of …
Physical Parameters of the Visually Close Binary Systems Hip70973 and Hip72479
Atmospheric modelling of the components of the visually close binary systems Hip70973 and Hip72479 was used to estimate the individual physical parameters of their components. The model atmospheres were constructed using a grid of Kurucz solar metalicity blanketed models, and used to compute a synthetic spectral energy distribution for each component separately, and hence for the combined system. The total observational spectral energy distributions of the systems were used as a reference for the comparison with the synthetic ones. We used the feedback modified parameters and iteration method …
HIP 65426 b is a recently discovered exoplanet imaged during the course of the SPHERE-SHINE survey. Here we present new $L'$ and $M'$ observations of the planet from the NACO instrument at the VLT from the NACO-ISPY survey, as well as a new $Y-H$ spectrum and $K$-band photometry from SPHERE-SHINE. Using these data, we confirm the nature of the companion as a warm, dusty planet with a mid-L spectral type. From comparison of its SED with the BT-Settl atmospheric models, we derive a best-fit effective temperature of $T_{\text{eff}}=1618\pm7$ K, surface gravity $\log g=3.78^{+0.04}_{-0.03}$ and ra…
HIP 45734 is a quadruple system of 2+2 architecture located at 68 pc from the Sun. The outer 9" system A,B has a period of ~10^4 yr. The pair Aa,Ab is a visual binary with a period of 20.1 years and an eccentricity of 0.78. Its periastron in 2019.1 was observed spectroscopically, yielding masses (1.10+-0.04 and 0.98+-0.03 M_sun) and orbital parallax, 14.90+-0.37 mas. The masses, luminosities, and colors approximately agree with evolutionary models of main sequence stars. The component Aa has a detectable lithium line, whereas in Ab it is absent. The pair Ba,Bb is a single-lined spectroscopic b…
We present the stellar parameters of the individual components of the two old close binary systems HIP\,14075 and HIP\,14230 using synthetic photometric analysis. These parameters are accurately calculated based on the best match between the synthetic photometric results within three different photometric systems with the observed photometry of the entire system. From the synthetic photometry, we derive the masses and radii of HIP\,14075 as: $\mathcal{M}^A=0.99\pm0.19\, \mathcal{M_\odot}$, $R_{A}=0.877\pm0.08\, R_\odot$ for the primary and $\mathcal{M}^B=0.96\pm0.15\, \mathcal{M_\odot}$, $R_{B…
The perfect physical and geometrical parameters of the main-sequence close visual binary system (CVBS), HIP\,105947, are explicitly presented. These parameters have been constructed conclusively using Al-Wardat's complex method for analyzing CVBSs, which is a method for constructing a synthetic spectral energy distribution (SED) for the entire binary system using individual SED for each component star. Which in its turn built using Kurucz ({\fontfamily{cmtt}\selectfont ATLAS9}) line-blanketed plane-parallel models. At the same time, the orbital parameters for the system are calculated using To…
The data release DR2 of Gaia mission was of great help in precise determination of fundamental parameters of Close Visual Binary and Multiple Systems (CVBMSs), especially masses of their components, which are crucial parameters in understating formation and and evolution of stars and galaxies. This article presents the complete set of fundamental parameters of two nearby (CVBSs), these are HIP 19206 and HIP 84425. We used a combination of two methods; the first one is Tokovinin's dynamical method to solve the orbit of the system and to estimate orbital elements and the dynamical mass sum, and …
We present the discovery and spectroscopy of HIP 75056Ab, a companion directly imaged at a very small separation of 0.125 arcsec to an A2V star in the Scorpius-Centaurus OB2 association. Our observations utilized VLT/SPHERE between 2015$-$2019, enabling low-resolution spectroscopy (0.95$-$1.65 $μm$), dual-band imaging (2.1$-$2.25 $μm$), and relative astrometry over a four-year baseline. HIP 75056Ab is consistent with spectral types in the range of M6$-$L2 and $T_{\rm eff}\sim$ 2000$-$2600 K. A comparison of the companion's brightness to evolutionary tracks suggests a mass of $\sim$20$-$30 M$_{…
In this paper, we present the analysis of the stellar system HIP 101227 to determine the actual number of components in the system, and their properties. We use dynamical modeling and complex spectrophotometric (involving atmospheric modeling) techniques with recent data, to determine the physical properties and orbital solution for the system, respectively, with better accuracy than past studies. Based on our analysis, we found that the system is more consistent with being a quadruple rather than a binary, or a triple system as that suggested by previous studies. The total mass of the system …
We present orbital fits and dynamical masses for HIP 113201AB and HIP 36985AB, two M1 + mid-M dwarf binary systems monitored as part of the SPHERE SHINE survey. To robustly determine ages via gyrochronology, we undertook a photometric monitoring campaign for HIP 113201 and for GJ 282AB, the two wide K star companions to HIP 36985, using the 40 cm Remote Observatory Atacama Desert (ROAD) telescope. We adopt ages of 1.2$\pm$0.1 Gyr for HIP 113201AB and 750$\pm$100 Myr for HIP 36985AB. To derive dynamical masses for all components of these systems, we used parallel-tempering Markov Chain Monte Ca…
Precise measurement of the fundamental parameters of stellar systems, including mass and radius, depends critically on how well the stellar distances are known. Astrometry from space provides parallax measurements of unprecented accuracy, from which distances can be derived, initially from the Hipparcos mission, with further refinement of that analysis provided by van Leeuwen in 2007. The publication of the Gaia DR2 catalogue promises a dramatic improvement in the available data. We have recalculated the dynamical masses of a sample of 1 700 close visual binary stars using Gaia DR2 and compare…
The precise determination of the physical and dynamical parameters of the HIP 109951 triple star system (WDS J22161-0705AB) which is formed by the A, Ba, and Bb components are presented. The binary nature of component B was recently confirmed by studying the radial velocities. The analysis of the system follows Al-Wardat's complex method for analyzing CVBS which employs Kurucz (Atlas9) line blanketed plane-parallel atmospheres simultaneously with an analytic method for dynamical analysis (we used Docobo's method) to calculate the parameters of this triple system. The result of our study yielde…
A complete astrophysical and dynamical study of the close visual binary system (CVBS) (A7V + F0V), Finsen 350, is presented. Beginning with the entire observational spectral energy distribution (SED) and the magnitude difference between the subcomponents, Al-Wardat's complex method for analyzing close visual binary stars (CVBS) was applied as a reverse method of building the individual and entire synthetic SEDs of the system. This was combined with Docobo's analytic method to calculate the new orbits. Although possible short ($\approx$ 9 years) and long period ($\approx$ 18 years) orbits could…
Thirteen spectroscopic orbits of late-type stars are determined from the high-resolution spectra taken with the CHIRON echelle spectrometer at the 1.5-m CTIO telescope. Most (HIP 14194B, 40523A, 41171A, 51578A, 57572B, 59426A, 62852B, 66438A, 87813B, and 101472A) are inner subsystems in hierarchical multiple stars with three or four components. The periods range from 2.2 to 1131 days. Masses of the components, orbital inclinations, and projected rotation velocities are estimated, the presence or absence of the lithium line is noted. In addition to those systems, HIP 57021 is a simple 54-day tw…

We report spectroscopic observations of the nearby, 19.5 yr binary system Gls 67 AB spanning more than 35 yr. We carry out a global orbital solution combining our radial velocity measurements with others from the literature going back more than a century, and with all other available astrometric observations. The latter include measurements of the relative position as well as the Hipparcos intermediate data and photographic observations tracing the motion of the photocentre. We derive masses for the primary and the M dwarf secondary of $0.95 \pm 0.11$ and $0.254 \pm 0.019~M_{\odot}$, respectiv…
We present the discovery of a transiting hot Jupiter orbiting HIP 67522 ($T_{eff}\sim5650$ K; $M_* \sim 1.2 M_{\odot}$) in the 10-20 Myr old Sco-Cen OB association. We identified the transits in the TESS data using our custom notch-filter planet search pipeline, and characterize the system with additional photometry from Spitzer, spectroscopy from SOAR/Goodman, SALT/HRS, LCOGT/NRES, and SMARTS/CHIRON, and speckle imaging from SOAR/HRCam. We model the photometry as a periodic Gaussian process with transits to account for stellar variability, and find an orbital period of 6.9596$^{+0.000016}_{-0…
