In stratified atmospheres, acoustic waves can only propagate if their frequency is above the cutoff value. Different theories provide different cutoff values. We developed an alternative method to derive the cutoff frequency in several standard solar models, including various quiet-Sun and umbral atmospheres. We performed numerical simulations of wave propagation in the solar atmosphere. The cutoff frequency is determined from the inspection of phase difference spectra computed between the velocity signal at two atmospheric heights. The process is performed by choosing pairs of heights across all the layers between the photosphere and the chromosphere, to derive the vertical stratification of the cutoff in the solar models. The cutoff frequency predicted by the theoretical calculations departs significantly from our measurements. In quiet-Sun atmospheres, the cutoff shows a strong dependence on the magnetic field for adiabatic wave propagation. When radiative losses are taken into account, the cutoff frequency is greatly reduced and the variation of the cutoff with the strength of the magnetic field is lower. The effect of the radiative losses in the cutoff is necessary to understand recent quiet-Sun and sunspot observations. In the presence of inclined magnetic fields, our numerical calculations confirm the reduction of the cutoff frequency due to the reduced gravity experienced by waves propagating along field lines. An additional reduction is also found in regions with significant changes in the temperature, due to the lower temperature gradient along the path of field-guided waves. Our results show that the cutoff values are not correctly captured by theoretical estimates. In addition, most of the widely-used analytical cutoff formulae neglect the impact of magnetic fields and radiative losses, whose role is critical to determine the evanescent or propagating nature of the waves.
Recently Wiśniewska et al. demonstrated observationally how the acoustic cutoff frequency varies with height in the solar atmosphere including the upper photosphere and the lower and middle chromosphere, and showed that the observational results cannot be accounted for by the existing theoretical formulas for the acoustic cutoff. In order to reproduce the observed variation of the cutoff with atmospheric height, numerical simulations of impulsively generated acoustic waves in the solar atmosphere are performed, and the spectral analysis of temporal wave profiles is used to compute numerically …
The propagation of linear transverse waves along a thin isothermal magnetic flux tube is affected by a global cutoff frequency that separates propagating and non-propagating waves. In this paper, wave propagation along a thin but non-isothermal flux tube is considered and a local cutoff frequency is derived. The effects of different temperature profiles on this local cutoff frequency are studied by considering different power-law temperature distributions as well as the semi-empirical VAL C model of the solar atmosphere. The results show that the conditions for wave propagation strongly depend…
An isolated, isothermal, and wide magnetic flux tube embedded either in the solar chromosphere or in the lower solar corona is considered, and the propagation of linear torsional Alfv'en waves is investigated. It is shown that the wideness of the tube leads to a new cutoff frequency, which is a local quantity that gives the conditions for the wave propagation at different atmospheric heights. The cutoff is used to establish the ranges of frequencies for the propagating and reflected waves in the solar chromosphere and lower solar corona. The obtained results are compared to those previously ob…

One of the key problems in solar flare physics is the determination of the low-energy cut-off; the value that determines the energy of nonthermal electrons and hence flare energetics. We discuss different approaches to determine the low-energy cut-off in the spectrum of accelerated electrons: (i) the total electron number model, (ii) the time-of-flight model (based on the equivalence of the time-of-flight and the collisional deflection time); (iii) the warm target model of Kontar et al.~(2015), and (iv) the model of the spectral cross-over between thermal and nonthermal components. We find tha…
The lack of observed sausage perturbations in solar active region loops is customarily attributed to the relevance of cutoff axial wavenumbers and the consequent absence of trapped modes (called ``evanescent eigenmodes'' here). However, some recent eigenvalue problem studies yield that cutoff wavenumbers may disappear for those equilibria where the external density varies sufficiently slowly, thereby casting doubt on the rarity of candidate sausage perturbations. We examine the responses of straight, transversely structured, coronal slabs to small-amplitude sausage-type perturbations that exci…
We study vertical variations of wave-periods of magnetoacoustic two-fluid waves in the partially ionized lower solar atmosphere, consisting of ion (proton) + electron and neutral (atomic hydrogen) fluids, which are coupled by ion-neutral collisions. The study allows finding the wave period cutoffs and their variations in the solar atmosphere, as well as establishing the role of these cutoffs in determining the wave propagation conditions. The atmosphere is permitted by a uniform vertical magnetic field. We perform numerical simulations in the framework of a one-dimensional (1D), two-fluid mode…
Type II WLFs have weak Balmer line emission and no Balmer jump. We carried out a set of radiative hydrodynamic simulations to understand how the hydrogen radiative losses vary with the electron beam parameters and more specifically with the low energy cutoff. Our results have revealed that for low energy beams, the excess flare Lyman emission diminishes with increasing low energy cutoff as the energy deposited into the top chromosphere is low compared to the energy deposited into the deeper layers. Some Balmer excess emission is always present and is driven primarily by direct heating from the…
Solar flare hard X-ray spectra from RHESSI are normally interpreted in terms of purely collisional electron beam propagation, ignoring spatial evolution and collective effects. In this paper we present self-consistent numerical simulations of the spatial and temporal evolution of an electron beam subject to collisional transport and beam-driven Langmuir wave turbulence. These wave-particle interactions represent the background plasma's response to the electron beam propagating from the corona to chromosphere and occur on a far faster timescale than coulomb collisions. From these simulations we…
The use of different solar activity indices like sunspot numbers, sunspot areas, flare index, magnetic fields, etc., allows us to investigate the time evolution of some specific features of the solar activity and the underlying dynamo mechanism. One of the problems when using these activity indices for some statistical analyses is the reliable determination of the maximum phases of different solar cycles which are generally characterized by a multi-peaked structure due to the presence of the so-called \emph {Gnevyshev gap}. The main aim of this work is to propose a general method, without the …
The dominant part of the difference between the observed and model frequencies of the Sun can be approximated by a power law. We show that when this empirical law is employed to correct the model frequencies and then the small frequency separations are used for solar age determination, the results are consistent with the meteoritic age (4.563 Gyr < t < 4.576 Gyr). We present the results and compare with those obtained by using the ratios of small to large frequency separations.
Langmuir waves (LWs), which are believed to play a crucial role in the plasma emission of solar radio bursts, can be excited by streaming instability of energetic electron beams. However, solar hard X-ray observations imply that the energetic flare electrons usually have a power-law energy distribution with a lower energy cutoff. In this paper, we investigate LWs driven by the power-law electrons. The results show that power-law electrons with the steepness cutoff behavior can excite LWs effectively because of the population inversion distribution below the cutoff energy ($E_c$). The growth ra…
We present a new determination of the solar nitrogen abundance making use of 3D hydrodynamical modelling of the solar photosphere, which is more physically motivated than traditional static 1D models. We selected suitable atomic spectral lines, relying on equivalent width measurements already existing in the literature. For atmospheric modelling we used the co 5 bold 3D radiation hydrodynamics code. We investigated the influence of both deviations from local thermodynamic equilibrium (non-LTE effects) and photospheric inhomogeneities (granulation effects) on the resulting abundance. We also co…
In the solar atmosphere, the acoustic cutoff frequency is a local quantity which depends on the atmospheric height. It separates the low-frequency evanescent waves from the high-frequency propagating waves. We measure the cutoff frequency of slow magnetoacoustic waves at various heights of a sunspot umbra and compare the results with the estimations from several analytical formulae. We analyzed the oscillations in the umbra of a sunspot belonging to active region NOAA 12662 observed in the 10830 Å spectral region with the GREGOR Infrared Spectrograph and in the Fe I 5435 Å line with the GREGOR…
In this paper we present a new method of restoration of the true thee-dimensional trajectories of the prominence knots based on ground-based observations taken with a single telescope, which is equipped with a Multi-Channel Subtractive Double Pass imaging spectrograph. Our method allows to evaluate true three-dimensional trajectories of the prominence knots without any assumptions concerning the shape of the trajectories or dynamics of the motion. The reconstructed trajectories of several knots observed in three prominences are presented.
A solar neutron detector has been launched on the Japan Exposure Module (JEM) of the International Space Station (ISS) in August 4, 2009. The detector works satsifactory. The detector comprises scintillation fiber and is designated as the Space Environment Data Acquisition (SEDA)-FIB. It tracks the recoil protons induced by neutrons and measurement of the proton energy using the range method. The energy resolution of the detector was measured using the proton beam at Riken. Herein, we report the energy resolution of the FIB detector by two different methods.
This paper focuses on the observations of sunspots made by Ruđer Bošković in 1777. We derived the expressions needed to calculate the elements of the Sun's rotation and period from observations. We used modern ephemeris data in the processing of the observation results. Obtained results are very similar to Bošković's original calculations. In addition to historical significance, they also provide scientifically valuable data on the Sun's differential rotation, which plays a significant role in generating and maintaining solar magnetic activity.
We present a new determination of the solar fluorine abundance together with abundance measurements of fluorine in two Galactic open clusters. We analyzed a sunspot spectrum, observed by L. Wallace and W. Livingston with the FTS at the McMath/Pierce Solar Telescope situated on Kitt Peak and spectra of four giants in the old cluster M 67 ($\sim$4.5 Gyr) and three giants in the young cluster NGC 6404 ($\sim$0.5 Gyr), obtained with the CRIRES spectrograph at VLT. Fluorine was measured through synthesis of the available HF lines. We adopted the recent set of experimental molecular parameters of HF…
Data from the PAMELA satellite experiment were used to measure the geomagnetic cutoff for high-energy ($\gtrsim$ 80 MeV) protons during the solar particle events on 2006 December 13 and 14. The variations of the cutoff latitude as a function of rigidity were studied on relatively short timescales, corresponding to single spacecraft orbits (about 94 minutes). Estimated cutoff values were cross-checked with those obtained by means of a trajectory tracing approach based on dynamical empirical modeling of the Earth's magnetosphere. We find significant variations in the cutoff latitude, with a maxi…
We present a Bayesian seismology inversion technique for propagating magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) transverse waves observed in coronal waveguides. The technique uses theoretical predictions for the spatial damping of propagating kink waves in transversely inhomogeneous coronal waveguides. It combines wave amplitude damping length scales along the waveguide with theoretical results for resonantly damped propagating kink waves to infer the plasma density variation across the oscillating structures. Provided the spatial dependence of the velocity amplitude along the propagation direction is measured…
The frequency of maximum oscillation power measured in dwarfs and giants exhibiting solar-like pulsations provides a precise, and potentially accurate, inference of the stellar surface gravity. An extensive comparison for about 40 well-studied pulsating stars with gravities derived using classical methods (ionisation balance, pressure-sensitive spectral features or location with respect to evolutionary tracks) supports the validity of this technique and reveals an overall remarkable agreement with mean differences not exceeding 0.05 dex (although with a dispersion of up to ~0.2 dex). It is arg…
A thin dark thread is observed in a UV/EUV solar jet in the 171A, 193A and 211A and partially in 304A. The dark thread appears to originate in the chromosphere but its temperature does not appear to lie within the passbands of the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) onboard the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). We therefore implement solar magnetoseismology to estimate the plasma parameters of the dark thread. A propagating fast kink (transverse) wave is observed to travel along the dark thread. The wave is tracked over a range of ~7000km by placing multiple slits along the axis of the dark thr…

In September 1777, Ruđer Bošković observed sunspots for six days. Based on these measurements, he used his own methods to calculate the elements of the solar rotation, the longitude of the node, the inclination of the solar equator and the period. He published a description of the methods, the method of observation and detailed instructions for calculations in the second chapter of the fifth part of the Opera in 1785. In this paper, Bošković original calculations and repeated calculations by his procedure are published. By analysing the input quantities, procedures, and results, the input quan…
We present a study on the determination of rotation periods (P) of solar-like stars from the photometric irregular time-sampling of the ESA Gaia mission, currently scheduled for launch in 2013, taking into account its dependence on ecliptic coordinates. We examine the case of solar-twins as well as thousands of synthetic time-series of solar-like stars rotating faster than the Sun. In the case of solar twins we assume that the Gaia unfiltered photometric passband G will mimic the variability of the total solar irradiance (TSI) as measured by the VIRGO experiment. For stars rotating faster than…
Heavy ions are markers of the physical processes responsible for the density and temperature distribution throughout the fine scale magnetic structures that define the shape of the solar corona. One of their properties, whose empirical determination has remained elusive, is the 'freeze-in' distance (Rf) where they reach fixed ionization states that are adhered to during their expansion with the solar wind. We present the first empirical inference of Rf for Fe10+ and Fe13+ derived from multi-wavelength imaging observations of the corresponding FeXI (Fe10+) 789.2 nm and FeXIV (Fe13+) 530.3 nm em…
Acoustic waves excited in the photosphere and below might play an integral part in the heating of the solar chromosphere and corona. However, it is yet not fully clear how much of the initially acoustic wave flux reaches the corona and in what form. We investigate the wave propagation, damping, transmission, and conversion in the lower layers of the solar atmosphere using 3D numerical MHD simulations. A model of a gravitationally stratified expanding straight coronal loop, stretching from photosphere to photosphere, is perturbed at one footpoint by an acoustic driver with a period of 370 secon…
The determination of solar wind outflow velocity is fundamental in order to probe the mechanisms of wind acceleration in the corona. We aim to study, via the Doppler dimming technique, the effects that the chromospheric Lyα line profile shape causes on the determination of the outflow speed of coronal HI atoms. The Doppler dimming technique takes into account the decrease of coronal Lyα radiation in regions where HI atoms flow out in the solar wind. Starting from UV observations (UVCS/SOHO) of the coronal Lyα line and simultaneous measurements of pB (LASCO/SOHO and Mk3/MLSO), we studied the ef…
Alfvén-wave-driven 3D magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) models, which are increasingly used to predict stellar wind properties, contain unconstrained parameters and rely on low-resolution stellar magnetograms. We explore the effects of the input Alfvén wave energy flux and the surface magnetogram on the wind properties predicted by the Alfvén Wave Solar Model (AWSoM). We lowered the resolution of two solar magnetograms during solar cycle maximum and minimum using spherical harmonic decomposition. The Alfvén wave energy was altered based on non-thermal velocities determined from a far ultraviolet (FUV)…
The Oxygen abundance in the solar photosphere, and consequently the solar metallicity itself, is still a controversial issue with far-reaching implications in many areas of Astrophysics. This paper presents a new determination obtained by fitting the forbidden OI line at 6300 A with an observational 3D model. The approach presented here is novel because previous determinations were based either on 1D empirical stratifications or on 3D theoretical models. The resulting best-fit abundances are lg E(O)=8.90 and lg E(Ni)=6.15. Nevertheless, introducing minor tweaks in the model and the procedure, …
The {\it Wide-field Imager for Solar Probe} (WISPR) on {\it Parker Solar Probe} (PSP), observing in white light, has a fixed angular field of view, extending from 13.5$^{\circ}$ to 108$^{\circ}$ from the Sun and approximately 50$^{\circ}$ in the transverse directions. Because of the highly elliptical orbit of PSP, the physical extent of the imaged coronal region varies directly as the distance from the Sun, requiring new techniques for analysis of the motions of observed density features. Here, we present a technique for determining the 3D trajectory of CMEs and other coronal ejecta moving rad…
Generally it has been considered that the plages and sunspots are the main contributors to the solar irradiance. There are small scale structures on the sun with intermediate magnetic fields that could also contribute to the solar irradiance. It has not yet been quantified how much of these small scale structures contribute to the solar irradiance and how much it varies over the solar cycle. In this paper, we used Ca II K images obtained from the telescope installed at Kodaikanal observatory. We report a method to separate the network elements from the background structure and plage regions. W…
Solar flare hard X-ray spectroscopy serves as a key diagnostic of the accelerated electron spectrum. However, the standard approach using the collisional cold thick-target model poorly constrains the lower-energy part of the accelerated electron spectrum, and hence the overall energetics of the accelerated electrons are typically constrained only to within one or two orders of magnitude. Here we develop and apply a physically self-consistent warm-target approach which involves the use of both hard X-ray spectroscopy and imaging data. The approach allows an accurate determination of the electro…

Measurements of the ionized Ca II K line are one of the major resources for long-term studies of solar and stellar activity. They also play a critical role in many studies related to solar irradiance variability, particularly as a ground-based proxy to model the solar ultraviolet flux variation that may influence the Earth's climate. Full disk images of the Sun in Ca II K have been available from various observatories for more than 100 years and latter synoptic Sun-as-a-star observations in Ca II K began in the early 1970s. One of these instruments, the Integrated Sunlight Spectrometer (ISS) h…
We carried out the Stokes diagnostics of new two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic models with a continuous evolution of magnetogranulation in the course of two hours of the hydrodynamic (solar) time. Our results agree satisfactorily with the results of Stokes diagnostics of the solar small-scale flux tubes observed in quiet network elements and active plages. The straightforward methods often used in the Stokes diagnostics of solar small-scale magnetic elements were tested by means of the magnetohydrodynamic models. We conclude that the most reliable methods are the determination of magnetic fi…
We present an update of the determination of the solar neutrino fluxes from a global analysis of the solar and terrestrial neutrino data in the framework of three-neutrino mixing. Using a Bayesian analysis we reconstruct the posterior probability distribution function for the eight normalization parameters of the solar neutrino fluxes plus the relevant masses and mixing, with and without imposing the luminosity constraint. We then use these results to compare the description provided by different Standard Solar Models. Our results show that, at present, both models with low and high metallicit…
Determining the relative brightness of the solar corona is one of the most critical stages in solar eclipse studies. For this purpose, images taken with different exposures and polarization angles in white-light observations are used. The composite image of each polarization angle is produced by combining the images of different exposures. With the help of the intensity calibration function of these images, the relative intensity of the corona can be calculated. The total brightness of the solar corona is calculated using Stokes parameters obtained from intensity values of three polarization a…
Recent multi-messenger detection of the binary neutron star merger (GW170817) energized the astrophysical community and encouraged further research for determination of nuclear physics observables. Comprehensive studies of atomic nuclei in the cosmos provide an opportunity for investigating these astrophysical phenomena and acquiring complementary information on stellar nucleosynthesis processes that can be verified using the latest nuclear data. Evaluated Nuclear Data File (ENDF) libraries contain complete collections of reaction cross sections over the energy range relevant to astrophysics, …
We determine the solar neutrino fluxes from a global analysis of the solar and terrestrial neutrino data in the framework of three-neutrino mixing. Using a Bayesian approach we reconstruct the posterior probability distribution function for the eight normalization parameters of the solar neutrino fluxes plus the relevant masses and mixing, with and without imposing the luminosity constraint. This is done by means of a Markov Chain Monte Carlo employing the Metropolis-Hastings algorithm. We also describe how these results can be applied to test the predictions of the Standard Solar Models. Our …
Photographic images are valuable data resources for studying long term changes in the solar magnetic field and its influence on the Earth's climate and weather. We digitized more than 100 years of white light images stored in photographic plates and films that are available at Kodaikanal observatory starting from 1904. The digitized images were calibrated for relative plate density and aligned in such a way that the solar north is in upward direction. A semi-automated sunspot detection technique was used to identify the sunspots on the digitized images. In addition to describing the calibratio…
An explicit equation of the propagational angle of microwave emission between the line-of-sight and the local magnetic field is newly derived. The existence of the solution of propagational angle is clearly shown under a series of typical parameters in solar microwave observations. It could be used to determine the intrinsic mode and linear mode coupling in solar microwave bursts. However, a 180-degree ambiguity still exists in the direction of longitudinal magnetic field, to produce an uncertainty of the intrinsic mode. One example is selected to check the feasibility of the method in the 200…
For late-type non-active stars, gravitational redshifts and convective blueshifts are the main source of biases in the determination of radial velocities. If ignored, these effects can introduce systematic errors of the order of ~ 0.5 km/s. We demonstrate that three-dimensional hydrodynamical simulations of solar surface convection can be used to predict the convective blue-shifts of weak spectral lines in solar-like stars to ~ 0.070 km/s. Using accurate trigonometric parallaxes and stellar evolution models, the gravitational redshifts can be constrained with a similar uncertainty, leading to …
The Alfvén speed and plasma beta in photospheric bright points observed by the Broadband Filter Imager (BFI) of the Solar Optical Telescope (SOT) on board the \textit{Hinode} satellite, are estimated seismologically. The diagnostics is based on the theory of slow magnetoacoustic waves in a non-isothermally stratified photosphere with a uniform vertical magnetic field. We identify and track bright points in a G-band movie by using the 3D region growing method, and align them with blue continuum images to derive their brightness temperatures. From the Fourier power spectra of 118 continuum light…
We herein determine the average integrated mass loss from stars stars belonging to the dominant metal-poor population ([Fe/H] ~ --1.7) of the Galactic globular cluster omega Centauri (NGC 5139) during their red giant and horizontal branch evolution. Masses are empirically calculated from spectroscopic measurements of surface gravity and photometric measurements of temperature and luminosity. Systematic uncertainties prevent an absolute measurement of masses at a phase of evolution. However, the relative masses of early asymptotic giant branch stars and central red giant branch stars can be mea…
We investigate numerically Alfvén waves propagating along an axisymmetric and non-isothermal solar flux tube embedded in the solar atmosphere. The tube magnetic field is current-free and diverges with height, and the waves are excited by a periodic driver along the tube magnetic field lines. The main results are that the two wave variables, the velocity and magnetic field perturbations in the azimuthal direction, behave differently as a result of gradients of physical parameters along the tube. To explain these differences in the wave behavior, the time evolution of the wave variables and the …
The equation of state (EOS) of the solar interior is accurately and smoothly determined from \textit{ab initio} simulations named quantum Langevin molecular dynamics (QLMD) in the pressure range of $58 \leq P \leq 4.6\times10^5$ Mbar at the temperature range of $1 \leq T \leq 1500$ eV. The central pressure is calculated, and compared with other models. The effect of heavy elements such as carbon and oxygen on the EOS is also discussed.
We describe a global parametric model for the observed power spectra of solar oscillations of intermediate and low degree. A physically motivated parameterization is used as a substitute for a direct description of mode excitation and damping as these mechanisms remain poorly understood. The model is targeted at the accurate fitting of power spectra coming from Doppler velocity measurements and uses an adaptive response function that accounts for both the vertical and horizontal components of the velocity field on the solar surface and for possible instrumental and observational distortions. T…
Both the quality and amount of astrophysical data are steadily increasing over time owing to the improvement of telescopes and their instruments. This requires corresponding evolution of the techniques used for obtaining and analyzing the resulting data. The infrared spectral range at 1.56 $μ$m usually observed by the GRegor Infrared Spectrograph (GRIS) at the GREGOR solar telescope has a width of around 30 $Å$ and includes at least 15 spectral lines. Normally, only a handful of spectral lines (five at most) are used in studies using GRIS because of the lack of atomic parameters for the others…
Understanding convection is important in stellar physics, for example as an input in stellar evolution models. Helioseismic estimates of convective flow amplitudes in deeper regions of the solar interior disagree by orders of magnitude among themselves and with simulations. We aim to assess the validity of an existing upper limit of solar convective flow amplitudes at a depth of 0.96 solar radii obtained using time-distance helioseismology and several simplifying assumptions. We generated synthetic observations for convective flow fields from a magnetohydrodynamic simulation (MURaM) using trav…
For distant stars, as observed by the NASA Kepler satellite, parallax information is currently of fairly low quality and is not complete. This limits the precision with which the absolute sizes of the stars and their potential transiting planets can be determined by traditional methods. Asteroseismology will be used to aid the radius determination of stars observed during NASA's Kepler mission. We report on the recent asteroFLAG hare-and-hounds Exercise#2, where a group of `hares' simulated data of F-K main-sequence stars that a group of `hounds' sought to analyze, aimed at determining the ste…
Two major issues in the specification of the thermospheric density are the definition of proper solar inputs and the empirical modeling of thermosphere response to solar and to geomagnetic forcings. This specification is crucial for the tracking of low Earth orbiting satellites. Here we address both issues by using 14 years of daily density measurements made by the Stella satellite at 813 km altitude and by carrying out a multiscale statistical analysis of various solar inputs. First, we find that the spectrally integrated solar emission between 26-34 nm offers the best overall performance in …
Stellar seismology appears more and more as a powerful tool for a better determination of the fundamental properties of solar-type stars. However the particular case of Sun is still challenging. The helioseismic sound speed determination continues to disagree with the Standard Solar Model (SSM) prediction for about a decade, questioning the reliability of this model. One of the sources of uncertainty could be in the treatment of the transport of radiation from the solar core to the surface. In this letter, we use the new OPAS opacity tables, recently available for solar modelling, to address t…
Photospheric C, N, and O abundances of 118 solar-analog stars were determined by applying the synthetic-fitting analysis to their spectra in the blue or near-UV region comprising lines of CH, NH, and OH molecules, with an aim of clarifying the behaviors of these abundances in comparison with [Fe/H]. It turned out that, in the range of -0.6<[Fe/H]<+0.3, [C/Fe] shows a marginally increasing tendency with decreasing [Fe/H] with a slight upturn around [Fe/H]~0, [N/Fe] tends to somewhat decrease towards lower [Fe/H], and [O/Fe] systematically increases (and thus [C/O] decreases) with a decrease in …
