The adjoint algebra for 2-categories

For any 0-cell $B$ in a 2-category $\Bc$ we introduce the notion of adjoint algebra $\adj_B$. This is an algebra in the center of $\Bc$. We prove that, if $\ca$ is a finite tensor category, this notion applied to the 2-category of $\ca$-module categories, coincides with the one introduced by Shimizu [Further results on the structure of (Co)ends in fintite tensor categories}, Appl. Categor. Struct. (2019). https://doi.org/10.1007/s10485-019-09577-7]. As a consequence of this general approach, we obtain new results on the adjoint algebra for tensor categories.

Duals and adjoints in higher Morita categories

We study duals for objects and adjoints for $k$-morphisms in $\operatorname{Alg}_n(\mathcal{S})$, an $(\infty,n+N)$-category that models a higher Morita category for $E_n$ algebra objects in a symmetric monoidal $(\infty,N)$-category $\mathcal{S}$. Our model of $\operatorname{Alg}(\mathcal{S})$ uses the geometrically convenient framework of factorization algebras. The main result is that $\operatorname{Alg}_n(\mathcal{S})$ is fully $n$-dualizable, verifying a conjecture of Lurie. The character algebra for module categories over Hopf algebras

Given a finite dimensional Hopf algebra H and an exact indecomposable module category M over Rep(H), we explicitly compute the adjoint algebra A_M as an object in the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over H, and the space of class functions CF(M) associated to M, as introduced by K. Relative Adjoint Algebras

Given a finite tensor category $\ca$, an exact indecomposable $\ca$-module category $\Mo$, and a tensor subcategory $\Do\subseteq \ca^*_\Mo$, we describe a way to produce \textit{exact} commutative algebras in the center $Z(\ca)$, measuring this inclusion. The construction of such algebras is done in an analogous way as presented by Shimizu \cite{Sh2}, but using instead the \textit{relative (co)end}, a categorical tool developed in \cite{BM} in the realm of representations of tensor categories. We provide some explicit computations.

On unimodular finite tensor categories

Let $\mathcal{C}$ be a finite tensor category with simple unit object, let $\mathcal{Z}(\mathcal{C})$ denote its monoidal center, and let $L$ and $R$ be a left adjoint and a right adjoint of the forgetful functor $U: \mathcal{Z}(\mathcal{C}) \to \mathcal{C}$. Nakayama functor for monads on finite abelian categories

If $\mathcal{M}$ is a finite abelian category and $\mathbf{T}$ is a linear right exact monad on $\mathcal{M}$, then the category $\mathbf{T}\mbox{-mod}$ of $\mathbf{T}$-modules is a finite abelian category. We give an explicit formula of the Nakayama functor of $\mathbf{T}\mbox{-mod}$ under the assumption that the underlying functor of the monad $\mathbf{T}$ has a double left adjoint and a double right adjoint. An embedding theorem for Hilbert categories

We axiomatically define (pre-)Hilbert categories. The axioms resemble those for monoidal Abelian categories with the addition of an involutive functor. We then prove embedding theorems: any locally small pre-Hilbert category whose monoidal unit is a simple generator embeds (weakly) monoidally into the category of pre-Hilbert spaces and adjointable maps, preserving adjoint morphisms and all finite (co)limits. Commutative algebras in Drinfeld categories of abelian Lie algebras

We describe (braided-)commutative algebras with non-degenerate multiplicative form in certain braided monoidal categories, corresponding to abelian metric Lie algebras (so-called Drinfeld categories). Classifying fusion categories $\otimes$-generated by an object of small Frobenius-Perron dimension

The goal of this paper is to classify fusion categories $\otimes$-generated by a $K$-normal object (defined in this paper) of Frobenius-Perron dimension less than 2. Twisting adjoint module algebras

Cohomology of the adjoint of Hopf algebras

A cohomology theory of the adjoint of Hopf algebras, via deformations, is presented by means of diagrammatic techniques. Explicit calculations are provided in the cases of group algebras, function algebras on groups, and the bosonization of the super line. As applications, solutions to the YBE are given and quandle cocycles are constructed from groupoid cocycles.

General representation theory in relatively closed monoidal categories

We apply the notion of relative adjoint functor to generalise closed monoidal categories. We define representations in such categories and give their relation with left actions of monoids. The translation of these representations under lax monoidal functors is investigated. We introduce tensor product of representations of bimonoids as a functorial binary operation and show how symmetric lax monoidal functors act on this product. Finally we apply the general theory to classical and quantum representations.

Vertex Operators of the $q$-Virasoro Algebra; Defining Relations, Adjoint Actions and Four Point Functions

Primary fields of the $q$-deformed Virasoro algebra are constructed. Commutation relations among the primary fields are studied. Adjoint actions of the deformed Virasoro current on the primary fields are represented by the shift operator $Θ_ξ f(x)=f(ξx)$. Four point functions of the primary fields enjoy the connection formula associated with the Boltzmann weights of the fusion Andrews-Baxter-Forrester model.

On Lagrangian algebras in group-theoretical braided fusion categories

We describe Lagrangian algebras in twisted Drinfeld centres for finite groups. Using the full centre construction, we establish a 1-1 correspondence between Lagrangian algebras and module categories over pointed fusion categories.

Weak Hopf Algebras, Smash Products and Applications to Adjoint-Stable Algebras

For a semisimple quasi-triangular Hopf algebra $\left( H,R\right) $ over a field $k$ of characteristic zero, and a strongly separable quantum commutative $H$-module algebra $A$ over which the Drinfeld element of $H$ acts trivially, we show that $A\#H$ is a weak Hopf algebra, and it can be embedded into a weak Hopf algebra $\operatorname{End}A^{\ast}\otimes H$. An elementary proof of the vanishing of the second cohomology of the Witt and Virasoro algebra with values in the adjoint module

By elementary and direct calculations the vanishing of the (algebraic) second Lie algebra cohomology of the Witt and the Virasoro algebra with values in the adjoint module is shown. This yields infinitesimal and formal rigidity or these algebras. The first (and up to now only) proof of this important result was given 1989 by Fialowski in an unpublished note. It is based on cumbersome calculations. Compared to the original proof the presented one is quite elegant and considerably simpler.

Categorification of the adjoint action of quantum groups

Let $U$ be a quantized enveloping algebra. We consider the adjoint action of an $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-subalgebra of $U$ on a subalgebra of $U^+$ that is maximal integrable for this action. We categorify this representation in the context of quiver Hecke algebras.
