We have studied the effect of strong magnetic field on the charge and thermal transport properties of hot QCD matter at finite chemical potential. For this purpose, we have calculated the electrical ($σ_{\rm el}$) and thermal ($κ$) conductivities using kinetic theory in the relaxation time approximation, where the interactions are subsumed through the distribution functions within the quasiparticle model at finite temperature, strong magnetic field and finite chemical potential. This study helps to understand the impacts of strong magnetic field and chemical potential on the local equilibrium by the Knudsen number ($Ω$) through $κ$ and on the relative behavior between thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity through the Lorenz number ($L$) in the Wiedemann-Franz law. We have observed that, both $σ_{\rm el}$ and $κ$ get increased in the presence of strong magnetic field, and the additional presence of chemical potential further increases their magnitudes, where $σ_{\rm el}$ shows decreasing trend with the temperature, opposite to its increasing behavior in the isotropic medium, whereas $κ$ increases slowly with the temperature, contrary to its fast increase in the isotropic medium. The variation in $κ$ explains the decrease of the Knudsen number with the increase of the temperature. However, in the presence of strong magnetic field and finite chemical potential, $Ω$ gets enhanced and approaches unity, thus, the system may move slightly away from the equilibrium state. The Lorenz number ($κ/(σ_{\rm el} T))$ in the abovementioned regime of strong magnetic field and finite chemical potential shows linear enhancement with the temperature and has smaller magnitude than the isotropic one, thus, it describes the violation of the Wiedemann-Franz law for the hot and dense QCD matter in the presence of a strong magnetic field.
We review theoretical aspects of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) at finite temperature. The most important physical variable to characterize hot QCD is the Polyakov loop, which is an approximate order parameter for quark deconfinement in a hot gluonic medium. Additionally to its role as an order parameter, the Polyakov loop has rich physical contents in both perturbative and non-perturbative sectors. This review covers a wide range of subjects associated with the Polyakov loop from topological defects in hot QCD to model building with coupling to the Polyakov loop.
The response of the hot QCD medium in the presence of external time dependent electromagnetic fields has been studied within the relativistic Boltzmann transport theory. The impact of the time dependence of the electromagnetic fields and collisional aspects of the medium to the induced electric and Hall current densities has been explored. The non-equilibrium momentum distribution of degrees of freedom has been obtained in the presence of space-time varying electromagnetic fields. Further, the analysis has been extended to an anisotropic QCD medium while incorporating the in-medium interaction…
The temperature of the chiral restoration phase transition at 130 MeV as well as the temperature of the center symmetry ("deconfinement") phase transition in a pure glue theory at 300 MeV are two independent temperatures and their interplay determines a structure of different regimes of hot QCD. Given a chiral spin symmetry of the color charge and of the chromoelectric interaction we can conclude from observed symmetries of spatial and temporal correlators of N_F=2 QCD with domain wall Dirac operator at physical quark masses that above the chiral symmetry restoration crossover around T_pc but …
The electromagnetic response of hot QCD matter to decaying external magnetic fields is investigated. We examine the validity of Ohm's law and find that the induced electric current increases from zero and relaxes towards the value from Ohm's law. The relaxation time is larger than the lifetime of the external magnetic field for the QCD matter in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The lower than expected electric current significantly suppresses the induced magnetic field and makes the electromagnetic response incomplete. We demonstrate the incomplete electromagnetic response of hot QCD matter …
NLO and LPM-resummed computations of thermal dilepton production from a hot QCD plasma are reviewed. An interpolation applicable for all positive photon invariant masses is presented, and possibilities for comparisons with lattice and experimental data are pointed out.
The thermal response of the hot QCD matter has been studied in the presence of a time-varying magnetic field. The impact of magnetic field, its time dependence, and the collision aspects of the medium on thermal transport have been studied within the relativistic kinetic theory. The decay time of the magnetic field in the medium seems to have a strong dependence on thermal conductivity. The applicability of the Wiedemann-Franz law for the QCD medium has been investigated in the presence of time-varying external electromagnetic fields. The phenomenological significance of thermal transport in h…
Deep learning techniques have shown the capability to identify the degree of energy loss of high-energy jets traversing hot QCD medium on a jet-by-jet basis. The average amount of quenching of quark and gluon jets in hot QCD medium actually have different characteristics, such as their dependence on the in-medium traversed length and the early-developed jet substructures in the evolution. These observations motivate us to consider these two types of jets separately and classify them from jet images with deep learning techniques. We find that the classification performance gradually decreases w…
We estimate the electrical and thermal conductivities of hot and dense hadronic matter in the relaxation time approximation of the Boltzmann equation. We estimate the thermodynamical quantities of hot and dense hadronic matter within the ambit of the excluded volume hadron resonance gas model. The relaxation time for all the hadrons is estimated assuming the constant cross section with uniform as well as mass dependent hard-core radius. We compare our results with various existing results. Finally we give an estimate of electrical and thermal conductivities in the context of heavy ion collisio…
Transport coefficients serve as important probes in characterizing the QCD matter created in high-energy heavy-ion collisions. Thermal and electrical conductivities as transport coefficients have got special significance in studying the time evolution of the created matter. We have adopted color string percolation approach for the estimation of thermal conductivity ($κ$), electrical conductivity ($σ_{el}$) and their ratio, which is popularly known as Wiedemann-Franz law in condensed matter physics. The ratio $κ/σ_{el}T$, which is also known as Lorenz number ($\mathbb{L}$) is studied as a funct…
By using conformable fractional of the Nikiforov-Uvarov (CF-NU) method, the radial Schrodinger equation is analytically solved. The energy eigenvalues and corresponding functions are obtained, in which the dependent temperature potential is employed. The effect of fraction-order parameter is studied on heavy-quarkonium masses such as charmonium and bottomonium in a hot QCD medium in the 3D and the higher dimensional space. A comparison is studied with recent works. We conclude that the fractional-order plays an important role in a hot QCD medium in the 3D and higher-dimensional space.

In the present work we use the modified versions of the MIT bag model, on which both a vector field and a self-interacting term are introduced, to obtain hot quark matter and to investigate the QCD phase diagram. We first analyze two-flavored quark matter constrained to both the freeze-out and the liquid-gas phase transition at the hadronic phase. Later, three-flavored quark matter subject to $β$ equilibrium and charge neutrality is used to compute quark star macroscopic properties, which are confronted with recent observational massive and canonical star radius results. Finally, a comparison …
We investigate the response of a hot gas of quarks to external electric fields via leading-order perturbation theory. In particular, we discuss how equilibrium is maintained in the presence of the electric field and calculate the electric susceptibility, providing its high-temperature expansion for arbitrary quark mass. Furthermore, we point out that there is a mismatch between this, direct determination of the susceptibility at zero field and the weak-field expansion of the effective action at nonzero electric fields, as obtained using Schwinger's exact propagator. We discuss the origin of th…
