We prove existence of the largest and the smallest entropy solutions to the Cauchy problem for a nonlinear degenerate anisotropic parabolic equation. Applying this result, we establish the comparison principle in the case when at least one of the initial functions is periodic. In the case when initial function vanishes at infinity (in the sense of strong average) we prove the long time decay of an entropy solution under exact nonlinearity-diffusivity condition.
Under a precise nonlinearity-diffusivity condition we establish the decay of space-periodic entropy solutions of a multidimensional degenerate nonlinear parabolic equation.

In this paper the well-posedness of some degenerate parabolic equations with a dynamic boundary condition is considered. To characterize the target degenerate parabolic equation from the Cahn-Hilliard system, the nonlinear term coming from the convex part of the double-well potential is chosen using a suitable maximal monotone graph. The main topic of this paper is the existence problem under an assumption for this maximal monotone graph for treating a wider class. The existence of a weak solution is proved.
We establish weak Harnack inequalities for positive, weak supersolutions to certain doubly degenerate parabolic equations. The prototype of this kind of equations is $$\partial_tu-\operatorname{div}|u|^{m-1}|Du|^{p-2}Du=0,\quad p>2,\quad m+p>3.$$ Our proof is based on Caccioppoli inequalities, De Giorgi's estimates and Moser's iterative method.
We prove that solutions to Cauchy problems related to the $p$-parabolic equations are stable with respect to the nonlinearity exponent $p$. More specifically, solutions with a fixed initial trace converge in an $L^q$-space to a solution of the limit problem as $p>2$ varies.
We discuss the well-posedness and decay of Besicovitch almost periodic solutions for a class of nonlinear degenerate anisotropic hyperbolic-parabolic equations. In our definition of weak entropy solution the initial data is only assumed in a weak sense, and in this connection the strong trace of the solution in the initial time hyperplane is also established.
This paper studies a fourth-order, nonlinear, doubly-degenerate parabolic equation derived from the thin film equation in spherical geometry. A regularization method is used to study the equation and several useful estimates are obtained. The main result of this paper is to prove the existence of a weak solution of the equation in a weighted Sobolev space.

This article presents a relationship between the sharp constant of the Sobolev inequality and the initial criterion to the global existence of degenerate parabolic-parabolic Keller-Segel system with the diffusion exponent $\frac{2n}{2+n}<m<2-\frac{2}{n}$. We prove $L^p$-parabolic a-priori estimates for $\partial_t u + \sum_{i,j=1}^d c_{ij}(t)\partial_{x_i x_j}^2 u = f $ on $R^{d+1}$ when the coefficients $c_{ij}$ are locally bounded functions on $R$. We slightly generalize the usual parabolicity assumption and show that still $L^p$-estimates hold for the second spatial derivatives of $u$. We also investigate the dependence of the constant appearing in such estimates from the parabolicity constant. Finally we extend our estimates to parabolic equations involving non-degenerate Ornstein-Uhlenbeck type operators.
This paper deals with different characterizations of sets of nonlinear parabolic capacity zero, with respect to the parabolic p-Laplace equation. Specifically we prove that certain interior polar sets can be characterized by sets of zero nonlinear parabolic capacity. Furthermore we prove that zero capacity sets are removable for bounded supersolutions and that sets of zero capacity have a relation to a certain parabolic Hausdorff measure.
We establish the existence of non-negative global weak solutions for a strongly couple degenerated parabolic system which was obtained as an approximation of the two-phase Stokes problem driven solely by capillary forces. Moreover, the system under consideration may be viewed as a two-phase generalization of the classical Thin Film equation.
We study the generation property for a fourth order operator in divergence or in non divergence form with suitable Neumann boundary conditions. As a consequence we obtain the well posedness for the parabolic equations governed by these operators. The novelty of this paper is that the operators depend on a function $a: [0,1] \rightarrow \R_+$ that degenerates somewhere in the interval.
We study a Neumann type initial-boundary value problem for strongly degenerate parabolic-hyperbolic equations under the nonlinearity-diffusivity condition. We suggest a notion of entropy solution for this problem and prove its uniqueness. The existence of entropy solutions is also discussed.

We study the asymptotic behavior of Lipschitz continuous solutions of nonlinear degenerate parabolic equations in the periodic setting. Our results apply to a large class of Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equations. In this paper we build models for short-term, mean-term and long-term dynamics of dune and megariple morphodynamics. They are models that are degenerated parabolic equations which are, moreover, singularly perturbed. We, then give an existence and uniqueness result for the short-term and mean-term models. This result is based on a time-space periodic solution existence result for degenerated parabolic equation that we set out. Finally the short-term model is homogenized.
We prove the asymptotic convergence of a space-periodic entropy solution of a one-dimensional degenerate parabolic equation to a traveling wave. It is also shown that on a segment containing the essential range of the limit profile the flux function is linear (with the slope equaled to the speed of the traveling wave) and the diffusion function is constant.
In this work we deal with degenerate parabolic equations with three lines of degeneration. Using "a-b-c" method we prove the uniqueness theorems defining conditions to parameters. We show nontrivial solutions for considered problems, when uniqueness conditions to parameters, participating in the equations are not fulfilled.

We consider degenerate and singular parabolic equations with $p$-Laplacian structure in bounded nonsmooth domains when the right-hand side is a signed Radon measure with finite total mass. We develop a new tool that allows global regularity estimates for the spatial gradient of solutions to such parabolic measure data problems, by introducing the (intrinsic) fractional maximal function of a given measure.
We establish a Gagliardo-Nirenberg-type inequality in $\mathbb{R}^n$ for functions which decay fast as $|x|\to\infty$. We use this inequality to derive upper bounds for the decay rates of solutions of a degenerate parabolic equation. Moreover, we show that these upper bounds, hence also the Gagliardo-Nirenberg-type inequality, are sharp in an appropriate sense.
We prove existence of the largest entropy sub-solution and the smallest entropy super-solution to the Cauchy problem for a nonlinear degenerate parabolic equation with only continuous flux and diffusion functions. Applying this result, we establish the uniqueness of entropy solution with periodic initial data. The more general comparison principle is also proved in the case when at least one of the initial functions is periodic.
We consider non smooth general degenerate/singular parabolic equations in non divergence form with degeneracy and singularity occurring in the interior of the spatial domain, in presence of Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions. In particular, we consider well posedness of the problem and then we prove Carleman estimates for the associated adjoint problem.
In this paper we obtain sharp Petrovskii criteria for the p-parabolic equation, both in the degenerate case p>2 and the singular case 1<p<2. We also give an example of an irregular boundary point at which there is a barrier, thus showing that regularity cannot be characterized by the existence of just one barrier.
We prove existence and uniqueness of viscosity solutions to the degenerate parabolic problem $u_t = Δ_\infty^h u$ where $Δ_\infty^h$ is the $h$-homogeneous operator associated with the infinity-Laplacian, $Δ_\infty^h u = |Du|^{h-3} < D^2uDu,Du>$. Regimes with a singular peaking for a wide class of quasilinear second order parabolic equations are studied. On the basis of energy methods, precise estimates of a final profile of a weak solution in a neighborhood of the peaking time are established depending on the rate of increase of a global energy of this solution.
