In this paper, we introduce a new class of subsets of bounded linear operators between Banach spaces which is p-version of the uniformly completely continuous sets. Then, we study the relationship between these sets with the equicompact sets. Moreover, we introduce the concept of weakly p-sequentially continuous differentiable mappings and obtain some characterizations of these mappings. Finally, we give a factorization result for differentiable mappings through p-convergent operators.
Continuity, compactness, the spectrum and ergodic properties of the differentiation operator are investigated, when it acts in the Fréchet space of all Dirichlet series that are uniformly convergent in all half-planes $\{s \in \mathbb{C} \ | \ {\rm Re} s > \varepsilon \}$ for each $\varepsilon>0$. The properties of the formal inverse of the differentiation are also investigated.
Considering the sets of subsums of series (or achievement sets) we show that for conditionally convergent series the multidimensional case is much more complicated than that of the real line. Although we are far from the full topological classification of such sets, we present many surprising examples and catch the ideas standing behind them in general theorems.
Levy-Steinitz theorem characterize sum range of conditionally convergent series, that is a set of all its convergent rearrangements; in finitely dimensional spaces -- it is an affine subspace. An achievement of a series is a set of all its subsums. We study the properties of achievement sets of series whose sum range is the whole plane. It turns out that it varies on the number of Levy vectors of a series.
In this paper, we study stability of $M$-compactness for $l^p$ sum of Banach spaces for $1\leq p<\infty$. We also obtain a characterization of $M$-compact sets in terms of statistically maximizing sequence, a notion which is weaker than a maximizing sequence. Moreover, we introduce the notion of $\mathcal{I}$-$M$-compactness of a bounded subset $M$ of a normed linear space $X$ with respect to an ideal $\mathcal{I}$ and show that it is equivalent to $M$-compactness for non-trivial admissible ideals.
In this article, we introduce the notion of $p$-$(DPL)$ sets.\ Also, a factorization result for differentiable mappings through Dunford-Pettis $p$-convergent operators is investigated.\ Namely, if $ X ,Y $ are real Banach spaces and $U$ is an open convex subset of $X,$ then we obtain that, given a differentiable mapping $f: U\rightarrow Y$ its derivative $f^{\prime}$ takes $U$-bounded sets into $p$-$(DPL)$ sets if and only if it happens $f=g\circ S,$ where $S$ is a Dunford-Pettis $p$-convergent operator from $X$ into a suitable Banach space $Z$ and $g:S(U)\rightarrow Y$ is a Gâteaux differenti…
In this paper we look for the existence of large linear and algebraic structures of sequences of measurable functions with different modes of convergence. Concretely, the algebraic size of the family of sequences that are convergent in measure but not a.e.~pointwise, uniformly but not pointwise convergent, and uniformly convergent but not in $L^1$-norm, are analyzed. These findings extend and complement a number of earlier results by several authors.
In this paper, we generalized the Wijsman statistical convergence of closed sets in metric space by introducing the $f$-Wijsman statistical convergence these of sets, where $f$ is an unbounded modulus. It is shown that the Wijsman convergent sequences are precisely those sequences which are $f$-Wijsman statistically convergent for every unbounded modulus $f$. We also introduced a new concept of Wijsman strong Cesàro summability with respect to a modulus, and investigate the relationships between the $f$-Wijsman statistically convergent sequences and the Wijsman strongly Cesàro summable sequenc…
Previously only two examples of Banach space quotient maps which do not admit uniformly continuous right inverses were known: one due to Aharoni and Lindenstrauss and one due to Kalton ($\ell^\infty\to\ell^\infty/c_{0}$). We show through an application of Kalton's Monotone Transfinite Sequence Theorem that a quotient map of a subspace of $\ell^\infty$ of sequences that converge to zero along an ideal in $\mathbb{N}$ toward another such subspace, provided one of the ideals is `much larger' than the other, cannot have a uniformly continuous right inverse. We show in general that pairs of ideals …
Leonetti proved that whenever $\mathcal I$ is an ideal on $\mathbb N$ such that there exists an~uncountable family of sets that are not in $\mathcal I$ with the property that the intersection of any two distinct members of that family is in $\mathcal I$, then the space $c_{0,\mathcal I}$ of sequences in $\ell_\infty$ that converge to 0 along $\mathcal I$ is not complemented. We provide a shorter proof of a more general fact that the quotient space $\ell_\infty / c_{0,\mathcal I}$ does not even embed into $\ell_\infty$.
In this paper, we study (uniformly) mean ergodic composition operators on $H^\infty(\mathbb{B}_n)$. Under some additional assumptions, it is shown that mean ergodic operators have norm convergent iterates in $H^\infty(\mathbb{B}_n)$, and that they are always uniformly mean ergodic.
The $p$-Gelfand Phillips property ($1\le p<\infty$) is studied in spaces of operators. Dunford - Pettis type like sets are studied in Banach spaces. We discuss Banach spaces $X$ with the property that every $p$-convergent operator $T:X\to Y$ is weakly compact, for every Banach space $Y$.
In this paper, we introduce the notions uniformly p-convergent sets and weakly p-sequentially continuous differentiable mappings. Then we obtain a sufficient condition for those Banach spaces which either contain no copy of $\ell_1$ or have the p-Schur property. Finally, we obtain a characterization for the weakly p-sequentially continuous differentiable mappings.
The recently developed notion of action convergence by Backhausz and Szegedy unifies and generalises the dense (graphon) and local-global (graphing) convergences of graph sequences. This is done through viewing graphs as operators and examining their dynamical properties. Suppose $(A_n)_n^\infty$ is a sequence of operators representing graphs, Cauchy with respect to the action metric. If $(A_n)_n^\infty$ has uniformly bounded $(p,q)$-norms where $(p,q)$ is any pair in $[1,\infty)\times(1,\infty)$, then Backhausz and Szegedy prove that $(A_n)_n^\infty$ has a limit operator which, moreover, must…
We show that a real sequence $x$ is convergent if and only if there exist a regular matrix $A$ and an $F_{σδ}$-ideal $\mathcal{I}$ on $\mathbf{N}$ such that the set of subsequences $y$ of $x$ for which $Ay$ is $\mathcal{I}$-convergent is of the second Baire category. This includes the cases where $\mathcal{I}$ is the ideal of asymptotic density zero sets, the ideal of Banach density zero sets, and the ideal of finite sets. The latter recovers an old result given by Keogh and Petersen in [J. London Math. Soc. \textbf{33} (1958), 121--123]. Our proofs are of a different nature and rely on recent…
