We study the net-baryon production at forward rapidities within the Color Glass Condensate paradigm. At high energy regime, the leading baryon production mechanism is shown to change from recombination to independent fragmentation. The nuclear configurational entropy (NCE) constructed upon forward scattering amplitudes, allows to predict the two free parameters that govern the anomalous dimension of the target gluon distribution. The global minimum of the NCE indicates a point of stability in pp/pA/AA collisions at LHC energies, corroborating and matching HERA data for hadron spectra measured in pp and dAu collisions at RHIC energies, with accuracy between 1.2\% and 1.8\%, respectively for the two free parameters.
In this paper the nuclear configurational entropy of the energy--energy correlation function is scrutinized, in $e^+e^-$ collisions to hadrons in the back-to-back region, within the QCD perturbative theory. The critical points of the nuclear configurational entropy concept, in the hot nuclear system, is shown to correspond to the critical angle between the two scattered hadrons, corroborating with phenomenological data with great accuracy. The main tools employ the main coefficients of the soft-gluon resummation formula, taking into account logarithmically enhanced contributions up to next-to-…
This paper scrutinizes the dynamical QCD effects influence on mesons, namely, the mean-square root radius of a pion in the holographic light-front wave function setup, in the context of the AdS/QCD. The nuclear configurational entropy, associated to mesonic holographic light-front wave functions, is shown to have a critical point that optimizes the two parameters of the spin-improved light-front wave function. The mean-square root pion radius and its cross-section, computed upon these derived values, match the exact existing experimental data to the precision of 0.14\%, below the experimental …
We evaluate the Configurational Entropy (CE) for scalar mesons and for $J^P=\frac{1}{2}^+$ baryons in a holographic approach, varying the dimension of boundary theory operators and using the soft-wall dual model of QCD. We find that hybrid and multiquark mesons are characterized by an increasingly large CE. A similar behavior is observed for $J^P=\frac{1}{2}^+$ baryons, where the CE of pentaquarks is larger than for three-quark baryons, for same radial number. Configurational Entropy seems relevant in disentangling conventional hadrons from exotica.
In the present work the electroproduction for diffractive $ρ$ and $ϕ$ mesons by considering AdS/QCD correspondence and Color Glass Condensate (CGC) approximation are studied with respect to the associated dipole cross section, whose parameters are studied and analysed in the framework of the configurational entropy. Our results suggest different quantum states of the nuclear matter, showing that the extremal points of the nuclear configurational entropy is able to reflect a true description of the $ρ$ and $ϕ$ mesons production, using current data concerning light quark masses. During the compu…
In the framework of eikonalized mini-jet model, contributions from gluon recombination effects are studied for the free proton in $pp$ and $\bar p p$ reactions. The nuclear configurational entropy is then used to calculate the main parameters to estimate the total proton cross sections for the recent data LHC, also corroborating to previous developments. Photoproduction cross sections with vector meson dominance and saturation effects for both total hadronic and photonic cross sections at a high energy regime are investigated. Extreme points of the configurational entropy provide the experimen…
Families of $J^P=1/2+$ nucleons (N(939), N(1440), N(1710), N(1880), N(2100), N(2300)) and $J^P=3/2-$ nucleons (N(1520), N(1700), N(1875) and N(2120)) are scrutinized from the point of view of the configurational entropy (CE). The mass spectra of higher $J^P$ resonances in each one of these families are then obtained when configurational-entropic Regge trajectories, that relate the CE of nucleon families to both their $J^P$ spin and also to their experimental mass spectra, are interpolated. The mass spectra of the next generation of nucleon resonances are then compared to already established ba…
The nuclear configurational entropy (NCE) is employed to derive two parameters encoding the Pomeron Regge trajectory and the spectrum of closed strings, which are also related to the glueball mass, precisely matching data of the TOTEM collaboration at the LHC. In the Regge regime of holographic QCD, the (Reggeized) glueball propagator and the gravitational form factor of the proton occupy a relevant spot in AdS/QCD. They are used for deriving the cross-sections for the TeV scale proton-proton scattering process, which are the main ingredient for computing the NCE. The nuclear configurational s…
We investigate how the masses of the singly heavy baryons undergo changes in nuclear matter, based on a medium-modified SU(3) chiral soliton model. Having explained the bulk properties of nuclear matter, we discuss the masses of the singly heavy baryons in nuclear matter. We generalize the vector-meson Lagrangian including the heavy-meson soliton interaction. The mass spectrum of the singly heavy baryon are obtained with the effects of explicit SU(3) symmetry breaking considered as a perturbation. The results show that the mass of the singly heavy baryon mass in nuclear medium is rather sensit…
I discuss the properties of the $Λ_{c}$ baryon in nuclear matter at zero or finite temperature. Starting from the Lagrangian based on the heavy-quark effective theory, I derive the effective Lagrangian for the $Λ_{c}$ baryon existing as an impurity particle. Adopting the one-loop calculation for nucleons, I derive the effective potential as the quantity for measuring the stability of the $Λ_{c}$ baryon in nuclear matter. The parameters in the Lagrangian are fitted to reproduce the scattering length of the nucleon and the $Λ_{c}$ baryon estimated in the lattice QCD simulations and the chiral ex…
Medium modification of the magnetic moments of octet baryons in the isospin asymmetric nuclear medium at finite temperature has been calculated using medium modified quark and baryon masses derived in chiral SU(3) quark mean field model. The magnetic moments of baryons are found to vary significantly as a function of density of nuclear medium as well as with the increase in isospin asymmetry of the medium. The rise of temperature is found to decrease the effect of isospin asymmetry on masses and magnetic moments of baryons. The results of present investigation may be helpful to understand the …
The magnetic moments of baryon decuplet are studied in vacuum as well as in the symmetric nuclear matter at finite temperature using a chiral SU(3) quark mean field model approach. The contributions coming from the valence quarks, quark sea and the orbital angular momentum of the quark sea have been considered to calculate magnetic moment of decuplet baryons. The decuplet baryon masses decrease, whereas, the magnetic moments increase significantly with the rise of baryonic density of the symmetric nuclear medium. This is because of the reason that constituent quark magnetic moment and the quar…
Unlike the octet baryons for $N_f=3$, there is no skyrmion coming from the $η^\prime$ meson. It is instead described as a fractional quantum Hall droplet, a pancake or a pita involving a singular $η^\prime$ ring in which Chern-Simons fields live. By incorporating hidden local symmetry and hidden scale symmetry in nuclear dynamics, I describe how to access baryon-charged quantum Hall droplets in dense nuclear matter in terms of the nuclear scale-chiral effective field theory approach ``G$n$EFT" with the $U_A(1)$ anomaly taken into account. I discuss how the single-flavor baryon that I will call…
Changes of baryon properties in nuclear matter are investigated within the framework of an in-medium modified SU(3) Skyrme model. Introducing the medium functionals in the SU(2) sector and considering the alteration of kaon properties in nuclear medium, we are able to examine the medium modification of the nucleon and hyperons. The functionals introduced in the SU(2) sector are related to ordinary nuclear matter properties near the saturation point. The results indicate that the changes of the baryon properties in the strange sector are strongly correlated with the in-medium properties of kaon…
The effect of nuclear interactions on measurable net-proton number fluctuations in heavy ion collisions at the SIS18/GSI accelerator is investigated. The state of the art UrQMD model including interaction potentials is employed. It is found that the nuclear forces enhance the baryon number cumulants, as predicted from grand canonical thermodynamical models. The effect however is smeared out for proton number fluctuations due to iso-spin randomization and global baryon number conservation, which decreases the cumulant ratios. For a rapidity acceptance window larger than $Δy> 0.4$ the effects of…
We investigate the properties of baryonic matter within the framework of the in-medium modified chiral soliton model by taking into account the effects of surrounding baryonic environment on the properties of in-medium baryons. The internal parameters of the model are determined based on nuclear phenomenology at nonstrange sector and fitted by reproducing nuclear matter properties near the saturation point. We discuss the equations of state in different nuclear environments such as symmetric nuclear matter, neutron and strange matters. We show that the results for the equations of state are in…
Density dependences of the mass and self-energies of $Λ_c$ in nulear matter are studied in the parity projected QCD sum rule. Effects of nuclear matter are taken into account through the quark and gluon condensates. It is found that the four-quark condensates give dominant contributions. As the density dependences of the four-quark condensates are not known well, we examine two hypotheses. One is based on the factorization hypothesis (F-type) and the other is derived from the perturbative chiral quark model (QM-type). The F-type strongly depends on density, while the QM-type gives a weaker dep…
The possibility of new short-distance physics applicable inside the cores of NS is incorporated into the equation of state generated by the quark-meson coupling model. The contribution of this new physics to the energy density is taken to be proportional to the amount of overlap between the quark cores of the baryons involved. With no change to the properties of symmetric nuclear matter at saturation density, including an incompressibility compatible with data on giant monopole resonances, one can sustain neutron stars with a maximum mass $M_{max}>2.1$ M$_\odot$, even when hyperons are include…
This paper reviews our recent findings on the dynamics of transport of baryon number in proton-induced reactions at the CERN SPS. These are put in a more general context of the present understanding of baryon stopping phenomena up to LHC and cosmic ray energies. The implications of our studies, advantages to be provided by modern and high quality experimental data, and perspectives of new measurements are shortly discussed.
We investigate how the masses of singly heavy baryons undergo changes in nuclear matter. The mass spectrum of the singly heavy baryons was successfully described in a pion-mean field approach even with isospin symmetry breaking, based on which we extend the investigation to the medium modification of the singly heavy baryons. Since all dynamical parameters were determined by explaining the mass spectrum of the SU(3) light and singly heavy baryons in free space, we can directly implement the density-dependent functionals for the dynamical parameters, of which the density dependence was already …
We propose a conceptual distinction between hard and soft realizations of deconfinement from nuclear to quark matter. In the high density region of Hard Deconfinement the repulsive hard cores of baryons overlap each other and bulk thermodynamics is dominated by the core properties that can be experimentally accessed in high-energy scattering experiments. We find that the equation of state estimated from a single baryon core is fairly consistent with those empirically known from neutron star phenomenology. We next discuss a novel concept of Soft Deconfinement, characterized by quantum percolati…
A new method to study nuclear physics via holographic QCD is proposed. Multiple baryons in the Sakai-Sugimoto background are described by a matrix model which is a low energy effective theory of D-branes of the baryon vertices. We study the quantum mechanics of the matrix model and calculate the eigenstates of the Hamiltonian. The obtained states are found to coincide with known nuclear and baryonic states, and have appropriate statistics and charges. Calculated spectra of the baryon/nucleus for small baryon numbers show good agreement with experimental data. For hyperons, the Gell-Mann--Okubo…
We review the recent exploration of a possible "domain-wall structure" of compressed baryonic matter in massive compact stars in terms of fractional quantum Hall droplets and skyrmions for baryons in medium. The theoretical framework is anchored on an effective nuclear effective field theory that incorporates two hidden symmetries, flavor local symmetry and scale symmetry conjectured to be dual to the gluons and quarks of QCD. It hints at a basically different, hitherto undiscovered structure of nuclear matter at low as well as high densities. Hidden "genuine dilaton (GD)" symmetry and hidden …
The in-medium properties of the heavy spin-3/2 $Σ_Q^{*}$, $Ξ_Q^{*}$ and $Ω_Q^{*}$ baryons with $Q$ being $b$ or $c$ quark are investigated. The shifts in some spectroscopic parameters of these particles due to the saturated cold nuclear matter are calculated. The variations of those parameters with respect to the changes in the density of the cold nuclear medium are studied, as well. It is observed that the parameters of $Σ_Q^{*}$ baryons are considerably affected by the nuclear matter compared to the $Ξ_Q^{*}$ and $Ω_Q^{*}$ particles that roughly do not see the medium. The results obtained ma…
The time evolution of particle number fluctuations in nuclear collisions at intermediate energies ($E_{\rm lab} = 1.23-10A$ GeV) is studied by means of the UrQMD-3.5 transport model. The transport description incorporates baryonic interactions through a density-dependent potential. This allows for an implementation of a first order phase transition including a mechanically unstable region at large baryon density. The scaled variance of the baryon and proton number distributions is calculated in the central cubic spatial volume of the collisions at different times. A significant enhancement of …
