Star-forming galaxies with strong nebular and collisional emission lines are privileged target galaxies in forthcoming cosmological large galaxy redshift surveys. We use the COSMOS2015 photometric catalog to model galaxy spectral energy distributions and emission-line fluxes. We adopt an empirical but physically-motivated model that uses information from the best-fitting spectral energy distribution of stellar continuum to each galaxy. The emission-line flux model is calibrated and validated against direct flux measurements in subsets of galaxies that have 3D-HST or zCOSMOS-Bright spectra. We take a particular care in modelling dust attenuation such that our model can explain both H$α$ and [OII] observed fluxes at different redshifts. We find that a simple solution to this is to introduce a redshift evolution in the dust attenuation fraction parameter, $f=E_{\rm star}(B-V)/E_{\rm gas}(B-V)$, as $f(z)=0.44+0.2z$. From this catalog, we derive the H$α$ and [OII] luminosity functions up to redshifts of about 2.5 after carefully accounting for emission line flux and redshift errors. This allows us to make predictions for H$α$ and [OII] galaxy number counts in next-generation cosmological redshift surveys. Our modeled emission lines and spectra in the COSMOS2015 catalog shall be useful to study the target selection for planned next-generation galaxy redshift surveys and we make them publicly available as `EL-COSMOS' on the ASPIC database.
[OIII]5007 on-band off-band images, obtained with the VLT and FORS2 spectrograph in two zones (center and outskirts) of the spiral galaxy NGC300, are analyzed searching for emission line objects. In particular we search for planetary nebula (PN) candidates to analyze their distribution and luminosity properties, to perform follow-up spectroscopy, and to study the planetary nebula luminosity function, PNLF. In the continuum-subtracted images, a large number of emission line objects were detected. From this sample we selected as PN candidates those objects with stellar appearance and no detectab…
We perform SED fitting analysis on a COSMOS sample covering UV-to-FIR wavelengths with emission lines from the FMOS survey. The sample of 182 objects with H$α$ and [OIII]$\lambda5007$ emission spans over a range of $1.40<\rm{z}<1.68$. We obtain robust estimates of stellar mass ($10^{9.5}-10^{11.5}~\rm{M_\odot}$) and SFR ($10^1-10^3~\rm{M_\odot}~\rm{yr}^{-1}$) from the Bayesian analysis with CIGALE fitting continuum photometry and H$α$. We obtain a median attenuation of A$_\rm{Hα}=1.16\pm0.19$ mag and A$_\rm{[OIII]}=1.41\pm0.22$ mag. H$α$ and [OIII]$\lambda5007$ attenuations are found to increa…
We present the [OII] luminosity function measured in the redshift range 0.1<z<1.65 with unprecedented depth and accuracy. Our measurements are based on medium resolution flux-calibrated spectra of emission line galaxies with the FORS2 instrument at VLT and with the SDSS-III/BOSS spectrograph. The FORS2 spectra and the corresponding catalog containing redshifts and line fluxes are released along with this paper. In this work we use a novel method to combine the aforementioned surveys with GAMA, zCOSMOS and VVDS, which have different target selection, producing a consistent weighting scheme to d…
A new generation of cosmological experiments will spectroscopically detect the H$α$ line from ELGs at optical/near-infrared frequencies. Other emission lines will also be present, which may come from the same H$α$ sample or constitute a new galaxy sample altogether. Our goal is to assess the value, for cosmological investigation, of galaxies at $z\gtrsim2$ present in H$α$ galaxy surveys and identifiable by the highly redshifted ultra-violet and optical lines - namely the OII line and the OIII doublet in combination with the H$β$ line. We use state-of-the-art luminosity functions to estimate th…
The next generation of spectroscopic surveys will target emission-line galaxies (ELGs) to produce constraints on cosmological parameters. We study the large scale structure traced by ELGs using a combination of a semi-analytical model of galaxy formation, a code that computes the nebular emission from HII regions using the properties of the interstellar medium, and a large-volume, high-resolution N-body simulation. We consider fixed number density samples where galaxies are selected by either their H$α$, [OIII]$λ5007$ or [OII]$λλ3727-3729$ emission line luminosities. We investigate the assembl…
We examine the luminosity function (LF) of [OII] emission-line galaxies in the high-resolution cosmological simulation MassiveBlack-II (MBII). From the spectral energy distribution of each galaxy, we select a sub-sample of star-forming galaxies at $0.06 \le z \le 3.0$ using the [OII] emission line luminosity L([OII]). We confirm that the specific star formation rate matches that in the GAMA survey. We show that the [OII] LF at z=1.0 from the MBII shows a good agreement with the LFs from several surveys below L([OII])=$10^{43.0}$ erg/s while the low redshifts ($z \le 0.3$) show an excess in the…
We estimate the number counts of line emitters at high redshift and their evolution with cosmic time based on a combination of photometry and spectroscopy. We predict the H$α$, H$β$, [OII], and [OIII] line fluxes for more than $35,000$ galaxies down to stellar masses of $\sim10^9$ $M_{\odot}$ in the COSMOS and GOODS-S fields, applying standard conversions and exploiting the spectroscopic coverage of the FMOS-COSMOS survey at $z\sim1.55$ to calibrate the predictions. We calculate the number counts of H$α$, [OII], and [OIII] emitters down to fluxes of $1\times10^{-17}$ erg cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$ in …
We use three semi-analytic models (SAMs) of galaxy formation and evolution, run on the same 1$h^{-1}$Gpc MultiDark Planck2 cosmological simulation, to investigate the properties of [OII] emission line galaxies in the redshift range $0.6<z<1.2$. We compare model predictions with different observational data sets, including DEEP2--Firefly galaxies with absolute magnitudes. We estimate the [OII] luminosity, L[OII], using simple relations derived both from the models and observations and also using a public code. This code ideally uses as input instantaneous star formation rates (SFRs), which are …
We investigated the fraction of [OII] emitters in galaxies at z~0.9 as a function of the local galaxy density in the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) COSMOS 2 square degree field. [OII] emitters are selected by the narrow-band excess technique with the NB711-band imaging data taken with Suprime-Cam on the Subaru telescope. We carefully selected 614 photo-z selected galaxies with M_U3500 < -19.31 at z=0.901-0.920, which includes 195 [OII] emitters, to directly compare results with our previous study at z~1.2. We found that the fraction is almost constant at 0.3 Mpc^-2 < Sigma_10th < 10 Mpc^-2. We a…
We study the angular correlation function of star-forming galaxies and properties of their host dark matter halos at z>1 using the Hyper-Suprime Cam (HSC) SSP survey. We use [OII] emitters identified using two narrow-band (NB) filters, NB816 and NB921, in the Deep/UltraDeep layers, which respectively cover large angular areas of 16.3 deg^2 and 16.9 deg^2. Our sample contains 8302 and 9578 [OII] emitters at z=1.19 (NB816) and z=1.47 (NB921), respectively. We detect a strong clustering signal over a wide angular range, 0.001 < θ< 1 [deg], with the bias $b=1.61^{+0.13}_{-0.11}$ (z=1.19) and $b=2.…
We compute synthetic, rest-frame optical and ultraviolet (UV) emission-line properties of galaxy populations at redshifts from z$\approx$0 to z=8 in a full cosmological framework. We achieve this by coupling, in post-processing, the cosmological IllustrisTNG simulations with new-generation nebular-emission models, accounting for line emission from young stars, post-asymptotic-giant-branch (PAGB) stars, accreting black holes (BHs) and, for the first time, fast radiative shocks. The optical emission-line properties of simulated galaxies dominated by different ionizing sources are largely consist…
We present the first publicly released catalog of sources obtained from the Hobby-Eberly Telescope Dark Energy Experiment (HETDEX). HETDEX is an integral field spectroscopic survey designed to measure the Hubble expansion parameter and angular diameter distance at 1.88<z<3.52 by using the spatial distribution of more than a million Ly-alpha-emitting galaxies over a total target area of 540 deg^2. The catalog comes from contiguous fiber spectra coverage of 25 deg^2 of sky from January 2017 through June 2020, where object detection is performed through two complementary detection methods: one de…
We investigate the ISM properties of 13 star-forming galaxies within the z~2 COSMOS cluster. We show that the cluster members have [NII]/Ha and [OIII]/Hb emission-line ratios similar to z~2 field galaxies, yet systematically different emission-line ratios (by ~0.17 dex) from the majority of local star-forming galaxies. We find no statistically significant difference in the [NII]/Ha and [OIII]/Hb line ratios or ISM pressures among the z~2 cluster galaxies and field galaxies at the same redshift. We show that our cluster galaxies have significantly larger ionization parameters (by up to an order…
We present -- and make publicly available -- accurate and precise photometric redshifts in the ACS footprint from the COSMOS field for objects with $i_{\mathrm{AB}}\leq 23$. The redshifts are computed using a combination of narrow band photometry from PAUS, a survey with 40 narrow bands spaced at $100Å$ intervals covering the range from $4500Å$ to $8500Å$, and 26 broad, intermediate, and narrow bands covering the UV, visible and near infrared spectrum from the COSMOS2015 catalogue. We introduce a new method that models the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) as a linear combination of continu…
This paper introduces cosmoDC2, a large synthetic galaxy catalog designed to support precision dark energy science with the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST). CosmoDC2 is the starting point for the second data challenge (DC2) carried out by the LSST Dark Energy Science Collaboration (LSST DESC). The catalog is based on a trillion-particle, 4.225 Gpc^3 box cosmological N-body simulation, the `Outer Rim' run. It covers 440 deg^2 of sky area to a redshift of z=3 and is complete to a magnitude depth of 28 in the r-band. Each galaxy is characterized by a multitude of properties including stell…
The Blanco Cosmology Survey is 4-band (griz) optical-imaging survey that covers ~80 square degrees of the southern sky. The survey consists of two fields roughly centered at (RA,DEC) = (23h,-55d) and (5h30m,-53d) with imaging designed to reach depths sufficient for the detection of L* galaxies out to a redshift of one. In this paper we describe the reduction of the survey data, the creation of calibrated source catalogs and a new method for the separation of stars and galaxies. We search these catalogs for galaxy clusters at z< 0.75 by identifying spatial over-densities of red-sequence galaxie…
Standardizing reverberation-mapped H$β$ active galactic nuclei using time-averaged radius$-$luminosity relations with 5100\,Å\,, broad H$β$, and narrow \OIII\ luminosities
We present a systematic study of the intensity mapping technique using updated models for the different emission lines from galaxies and identify which ones are more promising for cosmological studies of the post reionization epoch. We consider the emission of ${\rm Lyα}$, ${\rm Hα}$, H$β$, optical and infrared oxygen lines, nitrogen lines, CII and the CO rotational lines. We then identify that ${\rm Lyα}$, ${\rm Hα}$, OII, CII and the lowest rotational CO lines are the best candidates to be used as IM probes. These lines form a complementary set of probes of the galaxies emission spectra. We …
In this work we compare three catalogues of cosmological filaments identified in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey by means of different algorithms by Tempel et al., Pereyra et al., and Martínez et al. We analyse how different identification techniques determine differences in the filament statistical properties: length, elongation, redshift distribution, and abundance. We find that the statistical properties of the filaments strongly depend on the identification algorithm. We use a volume limited sample of galaxies to characterise other properties of filaments such as: galaxy overdensity, luminosi…
We measure the Hα and [OIII] emission line properties as well as specific star-formation rates (sSFR) of spectroscopically confirmed 3<z<6 galaxies in COSMOS from their observed colors vs. redshift evolution. Our model describes consistently the ensemble of galaxies including intrinsic properties (age, metallicity, star-formation history), dust-attenuation, and optical emission lines. We forward-model the measured Hα equivalent-widths (EW) to obtain the sSFR out to z~6 without stellar mass fitting. We find a strongly increasing rest-frame Hα EW that is flattening off above z~2.5 with average E…

We present the COSMOS2015 catalog which contains precise photometric redshifts and stellar masses for more than half a million objects over the 2deg$^{2}$ COSMOS field. Including new $YJHK_{\rm s}$ images from the UltraVISTA-DR2 survey, $Y$-band from Subaru/Hyper-Suprime-Cam and infrared data from the Spitzer Large Area Survey with the Hyper-Suprime-Cam Spitzer legacy program, this near-infrared-selected catalog is highly optimized for the study of galaxy evolution and environments in the early Universe. To maximise catalog completeness for bluer objects and at higher redshifts, objects have b…
We present measurements of the linear galaxy bias of H$α$ and [OIII] emission line galaxies (ELGs) for the High Latitude Spectroscopic Survey (HLSS) of Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, using galaxy mocks constructed using semi-analytical model for galaxy formation, {\it Galacticus}, with a large cosmic volume and redshift coverage. We compute the two-point statistics of galaxies in configuration space and measure linear bias within scales of $10\sim50 h^{-1}$Mpc. We adopt different selection algorithms to investigate the impact of the Roman line flux cut, as well as the effect of dust model …
Using a sample of 24264 optically selected AGNs from the SDSS DR7 database, we characterise how the profile of the [OIII] emission line relates to bolometric luminosity (L_Bol), Eddington ratio, radio loudness, radio luminosity (L_Rad) and optical class (Sy 1/2) to determine what drives the kinematics of this kpc-scale line emitting gas. Spectral stacking is used to characterise how the average [OIII] profile changes as a function of these variables. After accounting for the correlation between L_Bol and L_Rad, we report that L_Rad has the strongest influence on the [OIII] profile, with modera…
We compute synthetic optical and ultraviolet (UV) emission-line properties of galaxies in a full cosmological framework by coupling, in post-processing, new-generation nebular-emission models with high-resolution, cosmological zoom-in simulations of massive galaxies. Our self-consistent modelling accounts for nebular emission from young stars and accreting black holes (BHs). We investigate which optical- and UV-line diagnostic diagrams can best help to discern between the main ionizing sources, as traced by the ratio of BH accretion to star formation rates in model galaxies, over a wide range …
The Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS) has become a cornerstone of extragalactic astronomy. Since the last public catalog in 2015, a wealth of new imaging and spectroscopic data has been collected in the COSMOS field. This paper describes the collection, processing, and analysis of this new imaging data to produce a new reference photometric redshift catalog. Source detection and multi-wavelength photometry is performed for 1.7 million sources across the $2\,\mathrm{deg}^{2}$ of the COSMOS field, $\sim$966,000 of which are measured with all available broad-band data using both traditional apertu…
We present a catalog of 213 type-2 AGN selected from the zCOSMOS survey. The selected sample covers a wide redshift range (0.15<z<0.92) and is deeper than any other previous study, encompassing the luminosity range 10^{5.5} < Lsun< L[OIII] < 10^{9.1} Lsun. We explore the intrinsic properties of these AGN and the relation to their X-ray emission (derived from the XMM-COSMOS observations). We study their evolution by computing the [OIII]5007A line luminosity function (LF) and we constrain the fraction of obscured AGN as a function of luminosity and redshift. The sample was selected on the basis …
In the context of the VLA-COSMOS Deep project additional VLA A array observations at 1.4 GHz were obtained for the central degree of the COSMOS field and combined with the existing data from the VLA-COSMOS Large project. A newly constructed Deep mosaic with a resolution of 2.5" was used to search for sources down to 4 sigma with 1 sigma ~ 12 microJy/beam in the central 50'x50'. This new catalog is combined with the catalog from the Large project (obtained at 1.5"x1.4" resolution) to construct a new Joint catalog. All sources listed in the new Joint catalog have peak flux densities of >5 sigma …
Galaxies occupy different regions of the [OIII]$\lambda5007$/H$β$-versus-[NII]$\lambda6584$/H$α$ emission-line ratio diagram in the distant and local Universe. We investigate the origin of this intriguing result by modelling self-consistently, for the first time, nebular emission from young stars, accreting black holes (BHs) and older, post-asymptotic-giant-branch (post-AGB) stellar populations in galaxy formation simulations in a full cosmological context. In post-processing, we couple new-generation nebular-emission models with high-resolution, cosmological zoom-in simulations of massive gal…

Mock Observatory: two thousand lightcone mock catalogues of luminous red galaxies from the Hyper Suprime-Cam Survey for the cosmological large-scale analysis
We investigate the relation between the star-formation activity in galaxies and environment at z=1.2 in the COSMOS field, using the fraction of [OII] emitters and the local galaxy density. The fraction of [OII] emitters appears to be almost constant over the surface density of galaxies between 0.2 and 10 Mpc^-2. This trend is different from that seen in the local universe where the star-formation activity is weaker in higher density regions. To understand this difference between z~1 and z~0, we study the fraction of non-isolated galaxies as a function of local galaxy density. We find that the …
We present an X-ray spectroscopic study of optically selected (SDSS) Seyfert 2 (Sy2) galaxies. The goal is to study the obscuration of Sy2 galaxies beyond the local universe, using good quality X-ray spectra in combination with high S/N optical spectra for their robust classification. We analyzed all available XMM-Newton archival observations of narrow emission line galaxies that meet the above criteria in the redshift range 0.05<z<0.35. We initially selected narrow line AGN using the SDSS optical spectra and the BPT classification diagram. We further modeled and removed the stellar continuum,…
We present a method for generating suites of dark-matter halo catalogs with only a few $N$-body simulations, focusing on making small changes to the underlying cosmology of a simulation with high precision. In the context of blind challenges, this allows us to reuse a simulation by giving it a new cosmology after the original cosmology is revealed. Starting with full $N$-body realizations of an original cosmology and a target cosmology, we fit a transfer function that displaces halos in the original so that the galaxy/HOD power spectrum matches that of the target cosmology. This measured trans…
The cores of clusters at 0 $\lesssim$ z $\lesssim$ 1 are dominated by quiescent early-type galaxies, whereas the field is dominated by star-forming late-type ones. Galaxy properties, notably the star formation (SF) ability, are altered as they fall into overdense regions. The critical issues to understand this evolution are how the truncation of SF is connected to the morphological transformation and the responsible physical mechanism. The GaLAxy Cluster Evolution Survey (GLACE) is conducting a study on the variation of galaxy properties (SF, AGN, morphology) as a function of environment in a …
To understand the universe and to interpret the cosmological parameters governing its evolution it is necessary to contrast the data from galaxy surveys with simulation. Typically it entails using computationally expensive N -body simulations. Computational overhead makes it difficult to test the dependence of galaxy large scale structure on multiple cosmological parameters. In this work, we suggest a parametric model to simulate large scale structure. The new method provides a fast way to generate mock catalogs for testing multiple cosmological parameters as well as providing a test bench for…
We present a catalog covering 1.62 deg^2 of the COSMOS/UltraVISTA field with PSF-matched photometry in 30 photometric bands. The catalog covers the wavelength range 0.15um - 24um including the available GALEX, Subaru, CFHT, VISTA and Spitzer data. Catalog sources have been selected from the DR1 UltraVISTA Ks band imaging that reaches a depth of K_{s,tot} = 23.4 AB (90% completeness). The PSF-matched catalog is generated using position-dependent PSFs ensuring accurate colors across the entire field. Also included is a catalog of photometric redshifts (z_phot) for all galaxies computed with the …
We present for the first time a new data set of emission line widths for 118 star-forming regions in HII galaxies (HIIGs). This homogeneous set is used to investigate the L-sigma relation in conjunction with optical spectrophotometric observations. Peculiarities in the line profiles such as sharp lines, wings, asymmetries, and in some cases more than one component in emission were verified. From a new independent homogeneous set of spectrophotometric data we derived physical condition parameters and performed the statistical principal component analysis. We have investigated the potential role…
Future dark energy space missions such as JDEM and EUCLID are being designed to survey the galaxy population to trace the geometry of the universe and the growth of structure, which both depend on the cosmological model. To reach the goal of high precision cosmology they need to evaluate the capabilities of different instrument designs based on realistic mock catalog. The aim of this paper is to construct realistic and flexible mock catalogs based on our knowledge of galaxy population from current deep surveys. We explore two categories of mock catalog : (i) based on luminosity functions fit o…

The AGN-host co-evolution issue is investigated here by focusing on the evolution of the [\ion{O}{3}]$\lambda5007$ emission-line profile. In order to simultaneously measure both [\ion{O}{3}] line profile and circumnuclear stellar population in individual spectrum, a large sample of narrow emission-line galaxies is selected from the MPA/JHU SDSS DR7 catalog. By requiring that 1) the [\ion{O}{3}] line signal-to-noise ratio is larger than 30, 2) the [\ion{O}{3}] line width is larger than the instrumental resolution by a factor of 2, our sample finally contains 2,333 Seyfert galaxies/LINERs (AGNs)…
The halo mass function (HMF) is a critical element in cosmological analyses of galaxy cluster catalogs. We quantify the impact of uncertainties in HMF parameters on cosmological constraints from cluster catalogs similar to those from Planck, those expected from the Euclid, Roman and Rubin surveys, and from a hypothetical larger future survey. We analyse simulated catalogs in each case, gradually loosening priors on HMF parameters to evaluate the degradation in cosmological constraints. While current uncertainties on HMF parameters do not substantially impact Planck-like surveys, we find that t…
In this paper we describe the first data release of the UltraVISTA near-infrared imaging survey of the COSMOS field. We summarise the key goals and design of the survey and provide a detailed description of our data reduction techniques . We provide stacked, sky-subtracted images in $YJHK_{\rm s}$ and narrow-band filters constructed from data collected during the first year of UltraVISTA observations. Our stacked images reach $5σ$ $AB$ depths in an aperture of $2\arcsec$ diameter of $\sim 25$ in $Y$ and $\sim 24$ in $JHK_{\rm s}$ bands and all have sub-arcsecond seeing. To this $5σ$ limit, our…

We present validation tests of emulator-based halo model method for cosmological parameter inference, assuming hypothetical measurements of the projected correlation function of galaxies, $w_{\rm p}(R)$, and the galaxy-galaxy weak lensing, $Δ\!Σ(R)$, from the spectroscopic SDSS galaxies and the Hyper Suprime-Cam Year1 (HSC-Y1) galaxies. To do this, we use \textsc{Dark Emulator} developed in Nishimichi et al. based on an ensemble of $N$-body simulations, which is an emulation package enabling a fast, accurate computation of halo clustering quantities for flat-geometry $w$CDM cosmologies. Adopti…
We derive cosmological constraints on the matter density, \om, and the amplitude of fluctuations, \sig, using $\mathtt{GalWCat19}$, a catalog of 1800 galaxy clusters we identified in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey-DR13 spectroscopic data set using our GalWeight technique to determine cluster membership \citep{Abdullah18,Abdullah19}. By analyzing a subsample of 756 clusters in a redshift range of $0.045\leq z \leq 0.125$ and virial masses of $M\geq 0.8\times10^{14}$ \hm ~with mean redshift of $z = 0.085$, we obtain \om ~$=0.310^{+0.023}_{-0.027} \pm 0.041$ (systematic) and \sig ~$=0.810^{+0.031}_…

As part of the effort to meet the needs of the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope Dark Energy Science Collaboration (LSST DESC) for accurate, realistically complex mock galaxy catalogs, we have developed GalSampler, an open-source python package that assists in generating large volumes of synthetic cosmological data. The key idea behind GalSampler is to recast hydrodynamical simulations and semi-analytic models as physically-motivated galaxy libraries. GalSampler populates a new, larger-volume halo catalog with galaxies drawn from the baseline library; by using weighted sampling guided by empiric…

We assess the performance of a perturbation theory inspired method for inferring cosmological parameters from the joint measurements of galaxy-galaxy weak lensing ($ΔΣ$) and the projected galaxy clustering ($w_{\rm p}$). To do this, we use a wide variety of mock galaxy catalogs constructed based on a large set of $N$-body simulations that mimic the Subaru HSC-Y1 and SDSS galaxies, and apply the method to the mock signals to address whether to recover the underlying true cosmological parameters in the mocks. We find that, as long as the appropriate scale cuts, $12$ and $8~h^{-1}{\rm Mpc}$ for $…
We present a public catalogue of voids in the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS) Data Release 11 LOWZ and CMASS galaxy surveys. This catalogue contains information on the location, sizes, densities, shapes and bounding surfaces of 8956 independent, disjoint voids, making it the largest public void catalogue to date. Voids are identified using a version of the ZOBOV algorithm, the operation of which has been calibrated through tests on mock galaxy populations in N-body simulations, as well as on a suite of 4096 mock catalogues which fully reproduce the galaxy clustering, survey mask…
New observations of high-redshift objects are crucial for the improvement of the standard $Λ$CDM cosmological model and our understanding of the Universe. One of the main directions of modern observational cosmology is the analysis of the large-scale structure of Universe, in particular, in deep fields. We study the large-scale structure of the Universe along the line of sight using the latest version of the COSMOS2015 catalogue, which contains 518,404 high quality photometric redshifts of galaxies selected in the optical range of the COSMOS field ($2\times 2$ deg$^2$), with depth up to the re…
