Assuming that Dark Matter (DM) is made of fermions in the sub-GeV mass range with interactions dominated by electromagnetic moments of higher order, such as the electric and magnetic dipoles or the anapole moment, we show that direct detection experiments searching for atomic ionisation events in xenon targets can shed light on whether DM is a Dirac or Majorana particle. Specifically, we find that between about 45 (120) and 610 (1700) signal events are required to reject Majorana DM in favour of Dirac DM with a statistical significance corresponding to 3 (5) standard deviations. The exact number of DM signal events corresponding to a given significance depends on the relative size of the anapole, magnetic dipole and electric dipole contributions to the expected rate of DM-induced atomic ionisations under the Dirac hypothesis. Our conclusions are based on Monte Carlo simulations and the likelihood ratio test. While the use of asymptotic formulae for the latter is standard in many applications, here it requires a non-trivial extension to the case where one of the hypotheses lies on the boundary of the parameter space. Our results constitute a solid proof of concept about the possibility of using direct detection experiments to reject the Majorana DM hypothesis when the DM interactions are dominated by higher-order electromagnetic moments.
The Majorana fermion: fermion that is its own antiparticle, was predicted by Majorana in 1937. No fundamental particles are known to be Majorana fermions, although there are speculations that the neutrino is one. Many proposed theories assumes that the mysterious 'dark matter', which forms the greatest part of the universe, is composed of Majorana fermions. Even Majorana does not yet observed as a stable particle, its can be also exist as a quasiparticle in the edge of topological isolators. Here we reports the Dark Matter bolometer time constant deviation which is the result of additional Maj…
For Majorana dark matter, gauge boson bremsstrahlung plays an important role in enhancing an otherwise helicity-suppressed s-wave annihilation cross-section. This is well known for processes involving a radiated photon or gluon together with a Standard Model fermion-antifermion pair, and the case of massive electroweak gauge bosons has also recently been studied. Here we show that internal Higgs bremsstrahlung also lifts helicity suppression and could be the dominant contribution to the annihilation rate in the late Universe for dark matter masses below ~1 TeV. Using a toy model of leptophilic…
We revisit thermal Majorana dark matter from the viewpoint of minimal effective field theory. In this framework, analytic results for dark matter annihilation into standard model particles are derived. The dark matter parameter space subject to the latest LUX, PandaX-II and Xenon-1T limits is presented in a model-independent way. Applications to singlet-doublet and MSSM are presented.
In this letter in the framework of a simple see-saw scenario with two (or three) quasi degenerate Majorana neutrinos we propose that one of these neutrinos can be very weakly coupled, yet there is a mechanism of the generation of the abundance of such "dark" neutrino in the early universe. The mechanism of production is due to oscillations between "dark" Majorana neutrino and one of the Majorana's which has relatively large Yukawa couplings ("bright" Majorana neutrino). The transition of "bright" Majorana into a "dark" one is nonadiabatic. We point out on the similarity with the Landau-Zener t…
We study the possibility of dark matter in the form of heavy neutrinos from a fourth lepton family with helicity suppressed couplings such that dark matter is produced thermally via annihilations in the early Universe. We present all possible constraints for this scenario coming from LHC and collider physics, underground direct detectors, neutrino telescopes, and indirect astrophysical searches. Although we embed the WIMP candidate within a model of composite dynamics, the majority of our results are model independent and applicable to all models where heavy neutrinos with suppressed couplings…
Recent analyses have shown that the inclusion of electroweak corrections can alter significantly the energy spectra of Standard Model particles originated from dark matter annihilations. We investigate the important situation where the radiation of electroweak gauge bosons has a substantial influence: a Majorana dark matter particle annihilating into two light fermions. This process is in p-wave and hence suppressed by the small value of the relative velocity of the annihilating particles. The inclusion of electroweak radiation eludes this suppression and opens up a potentially sizeable s-wave…
The cross section for a Majorana Dark Matter particle annihilating into light fermions is helicity suppressed. We show that, if the Dark Matter is the neutral Majorana component of a multiplet which is charged under the electroweak interactions of the Standard Model, the emission of gauge bosons from the initial state lifts the suppression and allows an s-wave annihilation. The resulting energy spectra of stable Standard Model particles are importantly affected. This has an impact on indirect searches for Dark Matter.
We consider both velocity-dependent and velocity-independent contributions to spin-dependent (SD) and spin-independent (SI) nuclear scattering (including one-loop corrections) of WIMPless dark matter, in the case where the dark matter candidate is a Majorana fermion. We find that spin-independent scattering arises only from the mixing of exotic squarks, or from velocity-dependent terms. Nevertheless (and contrary to the case of MSSM neutralino WIMPs), we find a class of models which cannot be detected through SI scattering, but can be detected at IceCube/DeepCore through SD scattering. We stud…
We discuss simple models which predict the existence of significant gamma-ray fluxes from dark matter annihilation. In this context the dark matter candidate is a Majorana fermion with velocity-suppressed tree-level annihilation into Standard Model fermions but unsuppressed annihilation into photons. These gamma lines can easily be distinguished from the continuum and provide a possibility to test these models.
The notion of U(1) lepton number (which may only be softly broken) is applied to models of dark matter which interacts with leptons. Previous scotogenic models of Majorana or Dirac neutrino mass are shown to be derivable in this framework without additional symmetries. Only complete renormalizable theories are considered. An explicit class of models with $Z_n$ ($n \geq 5$) lepton and dark symmetry for Dirac neutrinos is derived, as well as an example of $Z_3$ dark symmetry.
A simple model of the Majorana neutrino with the see-saw mechanism is studied, assuming that two light neutrinos are the hot dark matters with equal mass of 2.4 eV in the cold plus hot dark matter model of cosmology. We find that the heavy neutrino, which is the see-saw partner with the remaining one light neutrino, can be the cold dark matter, if the light neutrino is exactly massless. This cold dark matter neutrino is allowed to have the mass of the wide range from 5.9 x 10^2 eV to 2.2 x 10^7 eV.
For Majorana fermions the anapole moment is the only allowed electromagnetic multipole moment. In this work we calculate the anapole moment induced at one-loop by the Yukawa and gauge interactions of a Majorana fermion, using the pinch technique to ensure the finiteness and gauge-invariance of the result. As archetypical example of a Majorana fermion, we calculate the anapole moment for the lightest neutralino in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, and specifically in the bino, wino and higgsino limits. Finally, we briefly discuss the implications of the anapole moment for the direct de…
We propose a scenario with a fermion dark matter, where the dark matter particle used to be the Dirac fermion, but it takes the form of the Majorana fermion at a late time. The relic number density of the dark matter is determined by the dark matter asymmetry generated through the same mechanism as leptogenesis when the dark matter was the Dirac fermion. After efficient dark matter annihilation processes have frozen out, a phase transition of a scalar field takes place and generates Majorana mass terms to turn the dark matter particle into the Majorana fermion. In order to address this scenari…
We demonstrate that Majorana neutrinos can form Cooper pairs due to long-range attractive forces and show BCS superfluidity in a class of mass varying neutrino dark energy models. We describe the condensates for Majorana neutrinos and estimate the value of the gap, critical temperature and Pippard coherence length for a simple neutrino dark energy model. In the strong coupling regime bosonic degree of freedom can become important and Bose-Einstein condensate may govern the dynamics for the mass varying neutrino models. Formation of the condensates can significantly alter the instability scenar…
We explore model-independent collider constraints on light Majorana dark matter particles. We find that colliders provide a complementary probe of WIMPs to direct detection, and give the strongest current constraints on light DM particles. Collider experiments can access interactions not probed by direct detection searches, and outperform direct detection experiments by about an order of magnitude for certain operators in a large part of parameter space. For operators which are suppresssed at low momentum transfer, collider searches have already placed constraints on such operators limiting th…
Non-relativistic dark matter scattering with nucleons is constrained by direct detection experiments. We use the XENON constraints on the spin-independent and spin-dependent cross section for dark matter scattering with nucleons to constrain a hypothetical Majorana fermionic dark matter particle's couplings to the Higgs boson and Z boson. In the procedure we illustrate the change in the dark matter nucleon cross section as one goes from non-relativistic, coherent scattering to relativistic, incoherent scattering. While the Z invisible decay width excludes directly couplings of dark matter to o…
We consider a decaying magnetic dark matter explaining the X-ray line at 3.55 keV shown recently from XMM-Newton observations. We introduce two singlet Majorana fermions that have almost degenerate masses and fermion-portal couplings with a charged scalar of weak scale mass. In our model, an approximate Z_2 symmetry gives rise to a tiny transition magnetic moment between the Majorana fermions at one loop. The heavier Majorana fermion becomes a thermal dark matter due to the sizable fermion-portal coupling to the SM charged fermions. We find the parameter space for the masses of dark matter and…
We investigate the possibility of a dark matter candidate emerging from a minimal walking technicolor theory. In this case techniquarks as well as technigluons transform under the adjoint representation of SU(2) of technicolor. It is therefore possible to have technicolor neutral bound states between a techniquark and a technigluon. We investigate this scenario by assuming that such a particle can have a Majorana mass and we calculate the relic density. We identify the parameter space where such an object can account for the full dark matter density avoiding constraints imposed by the CDMS and…
We consider the Singlet Majorana fermion dark matter model, in which the standard model particles interact with the dark sector through the mixing of a singlet scalar and the Higgs boson. In this model both the dark matter and the singlet scalar carry lepton number, the latter being a bilepton. We suppose the existence of a $Z_2$ symmetry, remnant of some high energy local symmetry breaking, that stabilizes the Majorana fermion. We analyzed the parameter space of this model and found that the lepton number symmetry breaking scale, drove by the singlet scalar, is constrained to be within hundre…
We propose a simple scenario in which dark matter (DM) emerges as a stable neutral hadronic thermal relics, its stability following from an exact $\operatorname{U}(1)_D$ symmetry. Neutrinos pick up radiatively induced Majorana masses from the exchange of colored DM constituents. There is a common origin for both dark matter and neutrino mass, with a lower bound for neutrinoless double beta decay. Direct DM searches at nuclear recoil experiments will test the proposal, which may also lead to other phenomenological signals at future hadron collider and lepton flavour violation experiments.

We analyze a classically scale invariant extension of the Standard Model with dark gauge $U(1)_X$ broken by doubly charge scalar $Φ$ leaving a remnant $Z_2$ symmetry. Dark fermions are introduced as dark matter candidates and for anomaly reasons we introduce two chiral fermions. Due to classical scale invariance, bare mass term that would mix these two states is absent and they end up as stable Majorana fermions $N_1$ and $N_2$. We calculate cross sections for $N_aN_a \to ϕϕ$, $N_aN_a \to X^μϕ$ and $N_2N_2 \to N_1N_1$ annihilation channels. We put constraints to the model from the Higgs search…
We revisit an extension of the Standard Model with Majorana fermions in the adjoint representations. There, a precise coupling unification and the good candidate for dark matter (the $SU(2)_L$ triplet fermion) are achieved simultaneously. In particular, we show that the $SU(3)_c$ octet fermion which is required for successful unification can be a good non-thermal source of the triplet fermion dark matter. We also show that the scenario predicts a rather short lifetime of the proton compared with the supersymmetric Standard Model, and the most parameter space can be explored by the future exper…
We study a three loop induced neutrino mass model with exotic vector-like isospin doublet leptons which contain a dark matter candidate. Then we explore lepton flavor violations, and dark matter physics in co-annihilation system. In this paper the nearly degenerate Majorana fermion dark matter can naturally be achieved at the two loop level, while the mass splitting can be larger than ${\cal O}$(200) keV which is required from the constraint of the direct detection search with spin independent inelastic scattering through $Z$ boson portal. As a result a monochromatic photon excess, its thresho…
This model includes a minimal extension of the standard model with $S_3$ and $Z_2$ symmetries to explain neutrino masses and mixing along with the dark matter phenomenology. Neutrino phenomenology is explored, consistent with the $3 σ$ observation of oscillation parameters and a nonzero reactor mixing angle ($θ_{13}$) is obtained. The $S_3$ singlet Majorana neutrino couples to the third generation of leptons, gives a correct relic density compatible with the Planck data. This model does not allow tree level direct detection, therefore we discuss the loop level effective interaction with the nu…
We consider a simplified model for Majorana fermion dark matter and explore constraints from direct, indirect and LHC collider searches. The dark matter is assumed to couple to the Standard Model through a vector mediator with axial-vector interactions. We provide detailed analyses of LHC mono-jet searches and IceCube limits on dark matter annihilation in the Sun. In particular, we develop a method for calculating limits on simplified WIMP dark matter models from public IceCube data, which are only available for a limited number of Standard Model final states. We demonstrate that LHC and IceCu…
In this paper we investigate the direct detections of Majorana dark matter (MDM) in vector portal. Taking into account that the tree-level scattering cross sections in these models are either dark matter velocity suppressed or spin-dependent, we calculate radiative corrections to the spin-independent cross section in effective field theory approach. Wilson coefficients of effective MDM-quark interactions are calculated at the one-loop level, and the Wilson coefficient of the effective MDM-gluon interaction is derived at the two-loop level. Numerical results show that current constraints can ru…
Stringent constraints on the interactions of dark matter with the Standard Model suggest that dark matter does not take part in gauge interactions. In this regard, the possibility of communicating between the visible and dark sectors via gauge singlets seems rather natural. We consider a framework where the dark matter talks to the Standard Model through its coupling to sterile neutrinos, which generate active neutrino masses. We focus on the case of Majorana dark matter, with its relic abundance set by thermal freeze-out through annihilations into sterile neutrinos. We use an effective field …
We consider an extension of the standard model (SM) with an inert Higgs doublet and three Majorana singlet fermions to address both origin and the smallness of neutrino masses and dark matter (DM) problems. In this setup, the lightest Majorana singlet fermion plays the role of DM candidate and the model parameter space can be accommodated to avoid different experimental constraints such as lepton flavor violating processes and electroweak precision tests. The neutrino mass is generated at one-loop level a la Scotogenic model and its smallness is ensured by the degeneracy between the CP-odd and…
Three main strategies are being pursued to search for non-gravitational dark matter signals: direct detection, indirect detection and collider searches. Interestingly, experiments have reached sensitivities in these three search strategies which may allow detection in the near future. In order to take full benefit of the wealth of experimental data, and in order to confirm a possible dark matter signal, it is necessary to specify the nature of the dark matter particle and of the mediator to the Standard Model. In this paper, we focus on a simplified model where the dark matter particle is a Ma…
In supersymmetric models with an unbroken R-symmetry (rather than only R-parity), the neutralinos are Dirac fermions rather than Majorana. In this article, we discuss the phenomenology of neutralino dark matter in such models, including the calculation of the thermal relic abundance, and constraints and prospects for direct and indirect searches. Due to the large elastic scattering cross sections with nuclei predicted in R-symmetric models, we are forced to consider a neutralino that is predominantly bino, with very little higgsino mixing. We find a large region of parameter space in which bin…
We investigate the signatures at the Large Hadron Collider of a minimal model where the dark matter particle is a Majorana fermion that couples to the Standard Model via one or several coloured mediators. We emphasize the importance of the production channel of coloured scalars through the exchange of a dark matter particle in the t-channel, and perform a dedicated analysis of searches for jets and missing energy for this model. We find that the collider constraints are highly competitive compared to direct detection, and can even be considerably stronger over a wide range of parameters. We al…
Gamma-rays induced by annihilation or decay of dark matter can be its smoking gun signature. In particular, gamma-rays generated by internal bremsstrahlung of Majorana and real scalar dark matter is promising since it can be a leading emission of sharp gamma-rays. However in the case of Majorana dark matter, its cross section for internal bremsstrahlung cannot be large enough to be observed by future gamma-ray experiments if the observed relic density is assumed to be thermally produced. In this paper, we introduce some degenerate particles with Majorana dark matter, and show they lead enhance…
We study a classically accidental scale-invariant extension of the Standard Model (SM) containing three additional fields, a vector leptoquark ($ V_μ $), a real scalar ($ ϕ$), and a neutral Majorana fermion ($ χ$) as a dark matter (DM) candidate. The scalar $ ϕ$ (scalon) and Majorana fermion $ χ$ are both singlets under the SM gauge group, while $ V_μ $ has (\textbf{3}, \textbf{1}, 2/3) quantum numbers under the $ SU(3)_{c} \times SU(2)_{L} \times U(1)_{Y} $. The Majorana DM couples to the SM sector via both Higgs and leptoquark portals. We perform a scan over the independent parameters to det…
We explore the dark matter and collider phenomenology of the minimal gauged $U(1)_B$ model, consisting of a leptophobic $Z_B$ gauge boson, and an accompanying Higgs $S_B$. By requirement of anomaly cancellation, the fermion sector naturally contains a dark matter candidate---a Majorana isosinglet $χ$ stabilized by an inherent $Z_2$ symmetry. The absence of evidence for $Z$ prime dijet resonances at the LHC suggests that the scale of symmetry breaking $Λ_{B}\gtrsim 500$ GeV. Saturation of dark matter abundance together with limits on the direct detection cross section (dominated by Higgs exchan…
Non-zero neutrino mass and dark matter cast a shadow over the success of the Standard Model (SM) of Particle Physics. The most straightforward extension of the SM to explain these two phenomena is the Scotogenic model, where the SM particle spectrum extends with three isospin singlet right-handed neutrinos and one doublet scalar while all of these being odd under $Z_2$ symmetry. In this work, we have considered the lightest right-handed neutrino as the dark matter candidate and freeze-out mechanism for producing observed dark matter relic density. The observed dark matter relic density, neutri…
We present a comprehensive study of Majorana dark matter in a $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge extension of the standard model, where three exotic fermions with $B-L$ charges as $-4, -4, +5$ are added to make the model free from the triangle gauge anomalies. The enriched scalar sector and the new heavy gauge boson $Z^{\prime},$ associated with the $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry make the model advantageous to be explored in dual portal scenarios for the search of dark matter signal. Diagonalizing the exotic fermion mass matrix, we obtain the Majorana mass eigenstates, of which the lightest one plays the role of dark …
We present a new model that extends the Standard Model (SM) with the local B+L symmetry, and point out that the lightest new fermion $ζ$, introduced to cancel anomalies and stabilized automatically by the B+L symmetry, can serve as the cold dark matter candidate. We study constraints on the model from Higgs measurements, electroweak precision measurements as well as the relic density and direct detections of the dark matter. Numerical results reveal that the pseudo-vector coupling of $ζ$ with $Z$ and the Yukawa coupling with the SM Higgs are highly constrained by the latest results of LUX, whi…
A minimal extension of the Standard Model (SM) by a vector-like fermion doublet and three right handed (RH) singlet neutrinos is proposed in order to explain dark matter and tiny neutrino mass simultaneously. The DM arises as a mixture of the neutral component of the fermion doublet and one of the RH neutrinos, both assumed to be odd under an imposed $\mathcal{Z}_2$ symmetry. Being Majorana in nature, the DM escapes from $Z$-mediated direct search constraints to mark a significant difference from singlet-doublet Dirac DM. The other two $\mathcal{Z}_2$ even heavy RH neutrinos give rise masses a…
Axion like particles(ALPs) and right handed neutrinos~(RHNs) are two well-motivated dark matter(DM) candidates. However, these two particles have a completely different origin. Axion was proposed to solve the Strong CP problem, whereas RHNs were introduced to explain light neutrino masses through seesaw mechanisms. We study the case of ALP portal RHN DM taking into account existing constraints on ALPs. We consider the leading effective operators mediating interactions between the ALP and SM particles and three RHNs to generate light neutrino masses through type-I seesaw. Further, ALP-RHN neutr…
We study a simplified model of flavoured Majorana dark matter in the Dark Minimal Flavour Violation framework. The model extends the Standard Model by a dark matter flavour triplet and a scalar mediator, through which the new dark fermions couple to right-handed up-type quarks. This interaction is governed by a new coupling matrix $λ$ which is assumed to constitute the only new source of flavour and CP violation. We analyse the parameter space of this model by using constraints from collider searches, $D^0-\bar{D}^0$ mixing, cosmology and direct dark matter searches. Throughout our study, we p…
We study a minimal extension of the Standard Model by introducing three right-handed neutrinos and a new scotogenic scalar doublet, in which the mass splittings between neutral and charged components are responsible for the $W$-boson mass newly measured by the CDF collaboration. This model can not only generate non-vanishing Majorana neutrino masses via the interaction of right-handed neutrinos and scotogenic scalars, but also explain the Universe's missing matter in the form of FIMP dark matter. We also study the influence of the mass splitting on the first order electroweak phase transition,…
We analyze a low energy effective model of Dark Matter in which the thermal relic density is provided by a singlet Majorana fermion which interacts with the Higgs fields via higher dimensional operators. Direct detection signatures may be reduced if blind spot solutions exist, which naturally appear in models with extended Higgs sectors. Explicit mass terms for the Majorana fermion can be forbidden by a $Z_3$ symmetry, which in addition leads to a reduction of the number of higher dimensional operators. Moreover, a weak scale mass for the Majorana fermion is naturally obtained from the vacuum …
We propose a general flavor-independent extension of the Standard Model (SM) with the minimal particle content, based on the symmetry $SU(3)_C\times SU(2)_L\times U(1)_{Y'}\times U(1)_X\times Z_2$. In this scenario, the charge operator is identified in terms of the charges of two $U(1)$ gauge symmetries. The light neutrino masses are generated via Type-I seesaw mechanism only with two heavy right-handed neutrinos acquiring their Majorana masses through the $U(1)_{Y'}\times U(1)_X$ symmetry breaking. We study various experimental constraints on the parameters of the model and investigate the ph…
We propose a type of hybrid Seesaw model that combines Type-1 and Type-2 Seesaw mechanism in multiplicative way to generate tree level Majorana neutrino mass and provides a Dark Matter candidate. The model extends the Standard Model by extra gauge symmetry $U(1)_{D}$ and hidden sector consisted of chiral fermions and additional scalar fields. After spontaneous symmetry breaking, light neutrino masses are generated not only by exchange of the new heavy fermions as Type-1 Seesaw, but also by coupling to the naturally small induced vacuum expectation value of new heavy scalar as Type-2 Seesaw. An…
We present a minimal extension of the left-right symmetric model based on the gauge group $SU(3)_{c} \times SU(2)_{L} \times SU(2)_{R} \times U(1)_{B-L} \times U(1)_{X}$, in which a vector-like fermion pair ($ζ_L$ and $ζ_R$) charged under the $U(1)_{B-L} \times U(1)_X$ symmetry is introduced. Associated with the symmetry breaking of the gauge group $SU(2)_{R} \times U(1)_{B-L} \times U(1)_{X}$ down to the Standard Model (SM) hypercharge $U(1)_Y$, Majorana masses for $ζ_{L, R}$ are generated and the lightest mass eigenstate plays a role of the dark matter (DM) in our universe by its communicati…
Gamma ray spectral features are of interest for indirect searches of dark matter (DM). Following Barger et al, we consider 3 simple scenarios of DM that annihilates into Standard Model (SM) fermion pairs. Scenario 1 is a Majorana DM candidate coupled to a charged scalar, scenario 2 is a Majorana DM coupled to a charged gauge boson and scenario 3 is a real scalar DM coupled a charged vector-like fermion. As shown by Barger et al, these 3 scenarios share precisely the same internal Bremsstrahlung spectral signature into gamma rays. Their phenomenology is however distinct. In particular for annih…
Heavy stable fourth generation Majorana neutrinos contribute to a small fraction of the relic density of dark matter (DM) in the Universe. Due to its relatively strong coupling to the standard model particles, it can be probed by the current direct and indirect DM detection experiments even it is a subdominant component of the halo DM. We show that the current Xenon100 data constrain the mass of the stable Majorana neutrino to be greater than the mass of the top quark. The effective spin-independent cross section for the neutrino elastic scattering off nucleon is predicted to be $\sim 1.5\time…
We study the possibility of texture zeros in Majorana light neutrino mass matrix in the light of dark large mixing angle (DLMA) solution to solar neutrino problem where solar mixing angle ($\sin^2{θ_{12}}\simeq 0.7 $) lies in the second octant instead of first octant in standard large mixing angle (LMA) scenario ($\sin^2{θ_{12}}\simeq 0.3 $). In three neutrino scenario, we find that LMA and DLMA solutions lead to different set of allowed and disallowed textures with one and two zeros. While being consistent with existing bounds from neutrino oscillation data, neutrinoless double beta decay and…
We present a new model for radiatively generating Majorana active neutrino masses while incorporating a viable dark matter candidate. This is possible by extending the Standard Model with a single Majorana neutrino endowed with a dark parity, a colour electroweak singlet scalar, as well as a colour electroweak triplet scalar. Within this framework, the $up$-type quarks play a special role, serving as a portal for dark matter, and a messenger for neutrino mass generation. We consider three benchmark scenarios where the abundance of dark matter can match the latest experimental results, while ge…
We suggest a minimal model for GeV-scale Majorana Dark Matter (DM) coupled to the standard model lepton sector via a charged scalar singlet. We show that there is an anti-correlation between the spin-independent DM-Nucleus scattering cross-section ($σ_{\mathrm{SI}}$) and the DM relic density for parameters values allowed by various theoretical and experimental constraints. Moreover, we find that even when DM couplings are of order unity, $σ_{\mathrm{SI}}$ is below the current experimental bound but above the neutrino floor. Furthermore, we show that the considered model can be probed at high-e…
In this paper we present a scenario where the stability of dark matter and the phenomenology of neutrinos are related by the spontaneous breaking of a non-Abelian flavor symmetry. In this scenario the breaking is done at the seesaw scale, in such a way that what remains of the flavor symmetry is a Z2 symmetry, which stabilizes the dark matter. We have proposed two models based on this idea, for which we have calculated their neutrino mass matrices achieving two-zero texture in both cases. Accordingly, we have updated this two-zero texture phenomenology finding an interesting correlation betwee…
