The representation of a general Calderón--Zygmund operator in terms of dyadic Haar shift operators first appeared as a tool to prove the $A_2$ theorem, and it has found a number of other applications. In this paper we prove a new dyadic representation theorem by using smooth compactly supported wavelets in place of Haar functions. A key advantage of this is that we achieve a faster decay of the expansion when the kernel of the general Calderón--Zygmund operator has additional smoothness.
A classical theorem attributed to Naimark states that, given a Parseval frame $\mathcal{B}$ in a Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$, one can embed $\mathcal{H}$ in a larger Hilbert space $\mathcal{K}$ so that the image of $\mathcal{B}$ is the projection of an orthonormal basis for $\mathcal{K}$. In the present work, we revisit the notion of Parseval frame MRA wavelets from two papers of Paluszyński, Šikić, Weiss, and Xiao (PSWX) and produce an analog of Naimark's theorem for these wavelets at the level of their scaling functions. We aim to make this discussion as self-contained as possible and provid…
The following deals with the $T(b)$ theorems of David, Journé, and Semmes \cite{DJS} considered in a dyadic setting. We find sharp growth estimates for a global and a local dyadic $T(b)$ Theorem. We use multiscale analysis and Haar wavelets in the local case.
In any quasi-metric space of homogeneous type, Auscher and Hytönen recently gave a construction of orthonormal wavelets with Hölder-continuity exponent $η>0$. However, even in a metric space, their exponent is in general quite small. In this paper, we show that the Hölder-exponent can be taken arbitrarily close to 1 in a metric space. We do so by revisiting and improving the underlying construction of random dyadic cubes, which also has other applications.
The representation of discrete, compact wavelet transformations (WTs) as circuits of local unitary gates is discussed. We employ a similar formalism as used in the multi-scale representation of quantum many-body wavefunctions using unitary circuits, further cementing the relation established in [Phys. Rev. Lett. 116, 140403 (2016)] between classical and quantum multi-scale methods. An algorithm for constructing the circuit representation of known orthogonal, dyadic, discrete WTs is presented, and the explicit representation for Daubechies wavelets, coiflets, and symlets is provided. Furthermor…
This article develops a novel approach to the representation of singular integral operators of Calderón-Zygmund type in terms of continuous model operators, in both the classical and the bi-parametric setting. The representation is realized as a finite sum of averages of wavelet projections of either cancellative or noncancellative type, which are themselves Calderón-Zygmund operators. Both properties are out of reach for the established dyadic-probabilistic technique. Unlike their dyadic counterparts, our representation reflects the additional kernel smoothness of the operator being analyzed.…
Using the Calderón-Zygmund decomposition, we give a novel and simple proof that $L^2$ bounded dyadic shifts admit a domination by positive sparse forms with linear growth in the complexity of the shift. Our estimate, coupled with Hytönen's dyadic representation theorem, upgrades to a positive sparse domination of the class $\mathcal U$ of singular integrals satisfying the assumptions of the classical $T(1)$-theorem of David and Journé, with logarithmic-Dini type smoothness of the integral kernel. Furthermore, our proof extends rather easily to the $\mathbb R^n$-valued case, yielding as a corol…

The article proves an assertion analogous to the Littlewood-Paley theorem for the orthoprojectors onto wavelet subspaces corresponding to the multidimensional multiresolution analysis generated as tensor product of smooth finite scaling functions of one variable.
The article proves an assertion analogous to the Littlewood-Paley theorem for the orthoprojectors onto wavelet subspaces corresponding to the nonisotropic multiresolution analysis generated as tensor product of smooth scaling single-variable functions sufficiently rapidly vanishing at infinity.
Let $Ω$ be a collection of disjoint dyadic squares $ω$, let $π_ω$ denote the non-smooth bilinear projection onto $ω$ \[ π_ω(f,g)(x):=\int\int \mathbf{1}_ω(ξ,η) \widehat{f}(ξ) \widehat{g}(η) e^{2πi (ξ+ η) x} d ξdη\] and let $r>2$. We show that the bilinear Rubio de Francia operator \[ \Big(\sum_{ω\inΩ} |π_ω (f,g)|^r \Big)^{1/r} \] is $L^p \times L^q \rightarrow L^s$ bounded with constant independent of $Ω$ whenever $1/p + 1/q = 1/s$, $r'<p,q<r$, $r'/2 < s < r/2$.

We prove continuity and surjectivity of the trace map onto $L_p$, from a space of functions of locally bounded variation, defined by the Carleson functional. The extension map is constructed through a stopping time argument. This extends earlier work by Varopoulos in the BMO case, related to the Corona theorem. We also prove $L_p$ Carleson approximability results for solutions to elliptic non-smooth divergence form equations, which generalize results in the case $p=\infty$ by Hofmann, Kenig, Mayboroda and Pipher.
