In this work, we develop a novel efficient scan method, combining the Heuristically Search (HS) and the Generative Adversarial Network (GAN), where the HS can shift marginal samples to perfect samples, and the GAN can generate a huge amount of recommended samples from noise in a short time. With this efficient method, we find a new scenario in the semi-constrained Next-to Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (scNMSSM), or NMSSM with non-universal Higgs masses. In this scenario, (i) Both muon g-2 and right relic density can be satisfied, along with the high mass bound of gluino, etc. As far as we know, that had not been realized in the scNMSSM before this work. (ii) With the right relic density, the lightest neutralinos are singlino-dominated, and can be as light as 0-12 GeV. (iii) The future direct detections XENONnT and LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ-7 2T) can give strong constraints to this scenario. (iv) The current indirect constraints to Higgs invisible decay $h_2\to \tildeχ^0_1 \tildeχ^0_1$ are weak, but the direct detection of Higgs invisible decay at the future HL-LHC may cover half of the samples, and that of the CEPC may cover most. (v) The branching ratio of Higgs exotic decay $h_2\to h_1h_1, a_1a_1$ can be over 20 percent, while their contributions to the invisible decay $h_2\to4χ_1^0$ are very small.
We assess the extent to which various constrained versions of the NMSSM are able to describe the recent hints of a Higgs signal at the LHC corresponding to a Higgs mass in the range 123-128 GeV.
We review different constrained versions of the NMSSM: the fully constrained cNMSSM with universal boundary conditions for gauginos and all soft scalar masses and trilinear couplings, and the NMSSM with soft terms from Gauge Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking. Regarding the fully constrained cNMSSM, after imposing LEP constraints and the correct dark matter relic density, one single parameter is sufficient to describe the entire Higgs and sparticle spectrum of the model, which then contains always a singlino LSP. The NMSSM with soft terms from GMSB is phenomenologically viable if (and only if) th…
The gravitino dark matter with neutralino NLSP hypothesis is investigated in the framework of NMSSM. We have considered both the thermal and non-thermal gravitino production mechanisms, and we have taken into account all the collider and cosmological constraints. The maximum allowed reheating temperature after inflation, as well as the maximum allowed gravitino mass are determined.
We perform a first global exploration of the Constrained Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model using Bayesian statistics. We derive several global features of the model and find that, in some contrast to initial expectations, they closely resemble the Constrained MSSM. This remains true even away from the decoupling limit which is nevertheless strongly preferred. We present ensuing implications for several key observables, including collider signatures and predictions for direct detection of dark matter.
We explore the parameter space of a Constrained Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with GUT scale boundary conditions (CNMSSM) and find regions where the relic density of the lightest neutralino is compatible with the WMAP measurement. We emphasize differences with the MSSM: cases where annihilation of the LSP occurs via a Higgs resonance at low values of tanβand cases where the LSP has a large singlino component. The particle spectrum as well as theoretical and collider constraints are calculated with NMSSMTools. All neutralino annihilation and coannihilation processes are then com…
We study the parameter space of the semi-constrained NMSSM, compatible with constraints on the Standard Model like Higgs mass and signal rates, constraints from searches for squarks and gluinos, a dark matter relic density compatible with bounds from WMAP/Planck, and direct detection cross sections compatible with constraints from LUX. The remaining parameter space allows for a fine-tuning as low as about 100, an additional lighter Higgs boson in the 60-120 GeV mass range detectable in the diphoton mode or in decays into a pair of lighter CP-odd Higgs bosons, and dominantly singlino like dark …
We study the fine tuning in the parameter space of the semi-constrained NMSSM, where most soft Susy breaking parameters are universal at the GUT scale. We discuss the dependence of the fine tuning on the soft Susy breaking parameters M_1/2 and m0, and on the Higgs masses in NMSSM specific scenarios involving large singlet-doublet Higgs mixing or dominant Higgs-to-Higgs decays. Whereas these latter scenarios allow a priori for considerably less fine tuning than the constrained MSSM, the early LHC results rule out a large part of the parameter space of the semi-constrained NMSSM corresponding to…
We reexamine the constrained version of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with semi universal parameters at the GUT scale (CNMSSM). We include constraints from collider searches for Higgs and SUSY particles, upper bound on the relic density of dark matter, measurements of the muon anomalous magnetic moment and of B-physics observables as well as direct searches for dark matter. We then study the prospects for direct detection of dark matter in large scale detectors and comment on the prospects for discovery of heavy Higgs states at the LHC.
In this note we briefly review our recent studies on a 125 GeV Higgs and its di-photon signal rate in different low energy supersymmetric models, namely the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM), the nearly minimal supersymmetric standard model (nMSSM) and the constrained MSSM. Our conclusion is: (i) In the allowed parameter space the SM-like Higgs boson can easily be 125 GeV in the MSSM, NMSSM and nMSSM, while it is hard to realize in the constrained MSSM; (ii) The di-photon Higgs signal rate in the nMSSM and constrained MSSM i…
We study the Higgs phenomenology in the Peccei-Quinn invariant NMSSM (PQ-NMSSM) where the low energy mass parameters of the singlet superfield are induced by a spontaneous breakdown of the Peccei-Quinn symmetry. In the generic NMSSM, scalar mixing among CP-even Higgs bosons is constrained by the observed properties of the SM-like Higgs boson, as well as by the LEP bound on the chargino mass and the perturbativity bound on the singlet Yukawa coupling. In the minimal PQ-NMSSM, scalar mixing is further constrained due to the presence of a light singlino-like neutralino. It is noticed that the $2σ…
In this study, we explore the detectability of heavy Higgs bosons in the $pp \to b\bar{b}H/A \to b\bar{b}t\bar{t}$ channel at a 100 TeV hadron collider within the semi-constrained Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). We calculate their production cross sections and decay branching ratios, comparing these with simulation results from existing reference. We focus on the heavy, doublet-dominated CP-even Higgs $H$ and CP-odd Higgs $A$, with mass limits set below 10 TeV to ensure detectability. We find that at a collider with 3 ab$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity, the potential for…
We discuss several phenomenological aspects of the fully constrained version of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model (cNMSSM). Assuming universal boundary conditions at a high energy scale for the soft supersymmetry-breaking gaugino, sfermion and Higgs masses as well as for the trilinear interactions, we find that the model can satisfy all present constraints from colliders and cosmological data on dark matter, B- and muon-physics. The phenomenologically viable region of the parameter space of the cNMSSM can be described by essentially one single parameter as the …
Constraints from searches for squarks and gluinos at the LHC at sqrt{s}=8 TeV are applied to the parameter space of the NMSSM with universal squark/slepton and gaugino masses at the GUT scale, but allowing for non-universal soft Higgs mass parameters (the sNMSSM). We confine ourselves to regions of the parameter space compatible with a 125 GeV Higgs boson with diphoton signal rates at least as large as the Standard Model ones, and a dark matter candidate compatible with WMAP and XENON100 constraints. Following the simulation of numerous points in the m_0-M_{1/2} plane, we compare the constrain…
Following previous works regarding electroweak precision tests in supersymmetry, we continue to explore their implications to the MSSM and NMSSM both of which are tightly constrained by the Higgs mass and its decay experiments at the LHC. We adopt universal squark, slepton mass of three generations, and A-term of all SM fermions. We determine the flows of both MSSM and NMSSM in the $S$-$T$ plane with increasing $\tanβ$ and/or $γγ$ rate. Either increasing the value of $R_γ$ or $\tanβ$, we find that the benchmark points tend to be pushed outside the contour at 99% CL in the MSSM, however, conver…
We study the μ\to e γdecay in the Z_3-invariant next-to-minimal supersymmetric (SUSY) Standard Model (NMSSM) with superheavy right-handed neutrinos. We assume that the soft SUSY breaking parameters are generated at the GUT scale, not universally as in the minimal supergravity scenario but in such a way that those soft parameters which are specific to the NMSSM can differ from the soft parameters which involve only the MSSM fields while keeping the universality at the GUT scale within the soft parameters for the MSSM and right-handed neutrino fields. We call this type of boundary conditions "se…
In the semi-constrained NMSSM (scNMSSM, or NMSSM with non-universal Higgs mass) under current constraints, we consider a scenario where $h_2$ is the SM-like Higgs, $\tildeχ^0_1$ is singlino-dominated LSP, $\tildeχ^{\pm}_1$ and $\tildeχ^0_{2,3}$ are mass-degenerated, light and higgsino-dominated NLSPs (next-to-lightest supersymmetric particles). We investigate the constraints to these NLSPs from searching for SUSY particles at the LHC Run-I and Run-II, discuss the possibility of discovering these NLSPs in the future, and come to the following conclusions: (i) With all data of Run I and up to 36…
In this article, we study the renormalization group equations of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, and investigate universality conditions on the soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters at the Grand Unification scale. We demonstrate that the inclusion of right-handed neutrino superfields can have a substantial effect on the running of the soft terms (greatly contributing to driving the singlet Higgs mass- squared parameter negative), which makes it considerably easier to satisfy the conditions for radiative electroweak symmetry-breaking. The new fields also lead to larger value…
In the CMSSM the heaviest scalar and pseudo-scalar Higgs bosons decay largely into b-quarks and tau-leptons because of the large $\tanβ$ values favored by the relic density. In the NMSSM the number of possible decay modes is much richer. In addition to the CMSSM-like scenarios, the decay of the heavy Higgs bosons is preferentially into top quark pairs (if kinematically allowed), lighter Higgs bosons or neutralinos, leading to invisible decays. We provide a scan over the NMSSM parameter space to project the 6D parameter space of the Higgs sector on the 3D space of the Higgs masses to determine …
The next-to minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM) with non-universal Higgs masses, or the semi-constrained NMSSM (scNMSSM), extend the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) by a singlet superfield and assume universal conditions except for the Higgs sector. It can not only keep the simpleness and grace of the fully constrained MSSM and NMSSM, and relax the tension that they face after the 125-GeV Higgs boson discovered, but also predict an exotic phenomenon that Higgs decay to a pair of light singlet-dominated scalars ($10\!\sim\! 60\;{\rm GeV}$). This condition can be classifie…
We present a comparative and systematic study of the fine tuning in Higgs sectors in three scale-invariant NMSSM models: the first being the standard $Z_3$-invariant NMSSM; the second is the NMSSM plus additional matter filling $3(5+\bar{5})$ representations of SU(5) and is called the NMSSM+; while the third model comprises $4(5+\bar{5})$ and is called the NMSSM++. Naively, one would expect the fine tuning in the plus-type models to be smaller than that in the NMSSM since the presence of extra matter relaxes the perturbativity bound on $λ$ at the low scale. This, in turn, allows larger tree-le…
Can supersymmetric models with a moderate stop mass be made consistent with the negative Higgs boson searches at LEP, while keeping perturbative unification manifest? The NMSSM achieves this rather easily, but only if extra matter multiplets filling complete SU(5) representations are present at intermediate energies. As a concrete example which makes use of this feature, we give an analytic description of the phenomenology of a constrained NMSSM close to a Peccei-Quinn symmetry point. The related pseudo-Goldstone boson appears in decays of the Higgs bosons and possibly of the lightest neutrali…
We discuss constrained and semi--constrained versions of the next--to--minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (NMSSM) in which a singlet Higgs superfield is added to the two doublet superfields that are present in the minimal extension (MSSM). This leads to a richer Higgs and neutralino spectrum and allows for many interesting phenomena that are not present in the MSSM. In particular, light Higgs particles are still allowed by current constraints and could appear as decay products of the heavier Higgs states, rendering their search rather difficult at the LHC. We propose benchm…
We study phase transitions in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) with the weak scale vacuum expectation values of the singlet scalar, constrained by Higgs spectrum and vacuum stability. We find four different types of phase transitions, three of which have two-stage nature. In particular, one of the two-stage transitions admits strongly first order electroweak phase transition, even with heavy squarks. We introduce a tree-level explicit CP violation in the Higgs sector, which does not affect the neutron electric dipole moment. In contrast to the MSSM with the CP violatio…
The Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (NMSSM) features extra new sources for CP violation. In contrast to the MSSM CP violation can already occur at tree level in the Higgs sector. We investigate the range of possible allowed CP-violating phases by taking into account the constraints arising from the measurements of the Electric Dipole Moments (EDMs) and the latest LHC Higgs data. Our analysis shows that large CP-violating phases, that are NMSSM-specific, are not in conflict with the EDMs. They are dominantly constrained by the Higgs data in this case. We use our r…
We discuss the automatised calculation of the Higgs mass in renormalisable supersymmetric models with complex parameters at the two-loop level. Our setup is based on the public codes SARAH and SPheno, which can now compute the two-loop corrections to masses of all neutral scalars in such theories. The generic ansatz for these calculations and the handling of the `Goldstone Boson catastrophe' is described. It is shown that we find perfect agreement with other existing two-loop calculations performed in the DR-bar scheme. We also use the functionality to derive results for the MSSM and NMSSM not…
The constrained Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (cNMSSM) with mSugra-like boundary conditions at the GUT scale implies a singlino-like LSP with a mass just a few GeV below a stau NLSP. Hence, most of the squark/gluino decay cascades contain two tau leptons. The gluino mass >~ 1.2 TeV is somewhat larger than the squark masses of >~ 1 TeV. We simulate signal and background events for such a scenario at the LHC, and propose cuts on the transverse momenta of two jets, the missing transverse energy and the transverse momentum of a hadronically decaying tau lepton. This dedicated analy…
We study the NMSSM with universal Susy breaking terms (besides the Higgs sector) at the GUT scale. Within this constrained parameter space, it is not difficult to find a Higgs boson with a mass of about 125 GeV and an enhanced cross section in the diphoton channel. An additional lighter Higgs boson with reduced couplings and a mass <123 GeV is potentially observable at the LHC. The NMSSM-specific Yukawa couplings lambda and kappa are relatively large and tan(beta) is small, such that lambda, kappa and the top Yukawa coupling are of order 1 at the GUT scale. The lightest stop can be as light as…
We perform a detailed analysis of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM), imposing the constraints of two-loop gauge coupling unification, universal soft supersymmetry breaking and the correct pattern of electroweak symmetry breaking. We compare our results with those for the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) using closely related techniques and, as far as possible, a common set of input and output variables. In general, in the constrained NMSSM, there are much stronger correlations between parameters than in the constrained MSSM, and we map out the allowed parame…
In the NMSSM, a light CP-odd Higgs arises due to spontaneous breaking of approximate symmetries such as Peccei-Quinn or R-symmetry and is motivated by string theory. The case when it is heavier than two muons is well studied and constrained. We analyze various meson decay, g-2, beam dump and reactor bounds on the CP-odd Higgs with mass below the muon threshold, in particular, addressing the question how light a CP-odd Higgs can be. We find that it has to be heavier than 210 MeV or have couplings to fermions 4 orders of magnitude below those of the Standard Model Higgs. Our analysis applies mor…
A light singlino is a promising candidate for dark matter, and a light higgsino is natural in the parameter space of the NMSSM. We study the combined constraints on this scenario resulting from the dark matter relic density, the most recent results from direct detection experiments, LEP and the LHC. In particular limits from a recent search for electroweak production of charginos and neutralinos at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV after 35.9 fb$^{-1}$ by CMS and constraints on spin-independent dark matter-nucleon cross sections from XENON1T after one tonne$\times$year exposure are considered. We find that sc…
We study the phenomenology of the Peccei-Quinn invariant extension of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM) in view of the recent discovery of a 125 GeV Higgs boson. The minimal model having no quadratic and cubic terms of the NMSSM singlet field predicts a light singlino-like lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). The model is strongly constrained by the Higgs invisible decay and the dark matter characteristic of the LSP, while some constraints can be relaxed by assuming that the saxion, the CP-even companion of the axion in the Peccei-Quinn sector, causes a late-time ent…
We study a Peccei-Quinn invariant extension of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), which turns out to be free from the tadpole and domain wall problems. Having a non-renormalizable coupling to the axion superfield, the SM singlet added to the Higgs sector can naturally generate an effective Higgs mu term around the weak scale. In the model, the lightest neutralino is dominated by the singlino, which gets a mass only through mixing with the neutral Higgsinos. We explore the phenomenological consequences resulting from the existence of such a relatively light neutralino. T…
This paper investigates the impact of the recent LHC constraints on the Higgs sector in the semi-constrained version of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Our analysis focuses on the parameter space for which the value of the Higgs doublet-singlet coupling, $λ$, is large as possible, while the ratio between the vacuum expectation values of the two Higgs doublets, $\tanβ$, is small as possible. Under the current constraints, we present the possible fermionic decay channels and reduced cross-section into fermions final states for the lightest neutral Higgs bosons in the NMSSM, $(…
Experimental probes of the recently discovered Higgs boson show that its behavior is close to that of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs particle. Extensions of the SM which include extra Higgs bosons are constrained by these observations, implying either the decoupling of the heavy non-standard Higgs particles or the realization of alignment, associated with vanishing mixing of the SM-like Higgs boson with the non-standard ones. Quite generally, alignment is not enforced by symmetry considerations and hence it is interesting to look for dynamical ways in which this condition can be realized. We sh…
We examine the Higgs triple coupling in MSSM and NMSSM under current constraints, which include the LHC measurements, Higgs data, B physics, electroweak precision observables, relic density and so on. The ratio $λ^{\rm MSSM}_{hhh}/λ^{\rm SM}_{hhh}$ is above 0.97, due to the highly constrained parameter space. While the ratio $λ^{\rm NMSSM}_{hhh}/λ^{\rm SM}_{hhh}$ can reach 0.1 under current constraints. The precise measurement in future collider will give a tighter constraint to the Higgs triple coupling in MSSM and NMSSM.
Hidden sector particles with sub-GeV masses like hidden U(1) gauge bosons, the NMSSM CP-odd Higgs, and other axion-like particles are experimentally little constrained as they interact only very weakly with the visible sector. For masses below the muon threshold, we present constraints from meson decays, g - 2 as well as beam-dump and reactor experiments. The NMSSM CP-odd Higgs and generally any pseudoscalar is required to be heavier than 210 MeV or couple to fermions much weaker than the SM Higgs. Hidden photons are less constrained and can be searched for at future fixed-target experiments, …
The semi-constrained NMSSM (scNMSSM) extends the MSSM by a singlet field, and requires unification of the soft SUSY breaking terms in the squark and slepton sectors, while it allows that in the Higgs sector to be different. We try to interpret the muon g-2 in the scNMSSM, under the constraints of 125 GeV Higgs data, B physics, searches for low and high mass resonances, searches for SUSY particles at the LHC, dark matter relic density by WMAP/Planck, and direct searches for dark matter by LUX, XENON1T, and PandaX-II. We find that under the above constraints, the scNMSSM can still (i) satisfy mu…
We present the first global analysis of the Constrained NMSSM that investigates the impact of the recent discovery of a 126 GeV Higgs-like boson, of the observation of a signal for BR(B_s->μ^+μ^-), and of constraints on supersymmetry from ~5/fb of data accumulated at the LHC, as well as of other relevant constraints from colliders, flavor physics and dark matter. We consider three possible cases, assuming in turn that the discovered Higgs boson is: i) the lightest Higgs boson of the model; ii) the next-to-lightest Higgs boson; and iii) a combination of both roughly degenerate in mass. The like…
We perform a detailed semi-analytical analysis of the electroweak phase transition (EWPT) property in NMSSM, which serves as a good benchmark model in which the 126 GeV Higgs mixes with a singlet. In this case, a strongly first order electroweak phase transition (SFOEWPT) is achieved by the tree-level effects and the phase transition strength $γ_c$ is determined by the vacua energy gap at $T=0$. We make an anatomy of the energy gap at both tree-level and loop-level and extract out a dimensionless phase transition parameter $R_κ\equiv 4 κv_s / A_κ$, which can replace $A_κ$ in the parameterizati…
The motivations for the NMSSM are reviewed, and possible unconventional signals for Higgs and sparticle production at the LHC are discussed. In the presence of a light pseudoscalar, the SM-like Higgs scalar can decay dominantly into a 4-tau final state. In the fully constrained NMSSM with mSUGRA-like soft SUSY breaking terms, the correct dark matter relic density is obtained for a singlino-like LSP which modifies considerably all sparticle decay chains.
The next-to-minimal supersymmetric model (NMSSM) with a large lambda (the mixing parameter between the singlet and doublet Higgs fields) is well motivated since it can significantly push up the upper bound on the SM-like Higgs boson mass to solve the little hierarchy problem. In this work we examine the current experimental constraints on the NMSSM with a large lambda, which include the direct search for Higgs boson and sparticles at colliders, the indirect constraints from precision electroweak measurements, the cosmic dark matter relic density, the muon anomalous magnetic moment, as well as …
In this work, we investigate the degenerate heavy Higgs bosons in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) by introducing vector-like particles. Such an extension is well motivated from the top-down view since some grand unified theories usually predict the existence of singlet scalars and vector-like particles at weak scale. Under the constraints from the LHC and dark matter experiments, we find that (1) the null results of searching for high mass resonances have tightly constrained the parameter space; (2) two degenerate heavy singlet Higgs bosons $h_2$ and $a_1$ can sizably…
Measuring the Higgs self-coupling is one of the crucial physics goals at the LHC Run-2 and other future colliders. In this work, we attempt to figure out the size of SUSY effects on the trilinear self-coupling of the 125 GeV Higgs boson in the MSSM and NMSSM after the LHC Run-1. Taking account of current experimental constraints, such as the Higgs data, flavor constraints, electroweak precision observables and dark matter detections, we obtain the observations: (1) In the MSSM, the ratio of $λ^{MSSM}_{3h}/λ^{SM}_{3h}$ has been tightly constrained by the LHC data, which can be only slightly sma…
We propose an experimental test of a scenario in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model in which both the lightest scalar and the lightest pseudoscalar Higgs bosons have masses around 125 GeV. The pseudoscalar can contribute significantly to the gamma.gamma rate at the LHC due to light Higgsino-like charginos in its effective one-loop coupling to two photons. Such charginos are obtained for small values of the mu_eff parameter which also results in enhanced b.b-bar and tau+.tau- rates compared to those expected for a Standard Model Higgs boson. This scenario should result in a clear…
In this letter we study the Higgs mass in the NMSSM with supersymmetry breaking at high scales $M_{SS}$. With the Standard Model as the effective low energy theory, the computation of the Higgs mass relies on the matching condition of the quartic coupling $λ$ at $M_{SS}$. In the MSSM, the latter is fixed to a semi-positive value and, thus, sets an upper bound on the SUSY-breaking scale near $M_{SS}\simeq 10^{10}\text{GeV}$. In the NMSSM, $λ(M_{SS})$ receives an additional contribution induced by the singlet which allows for negative values of $λ(M_{SS})$. In turn, for the measured value of the…
The observed Higgs boson mass and the naturalness argument leave us a narrow window for the soft mass spectrum in natural supersymmetry that can be studied through the electroweak precision tests (EWPTs). We divide the analysis into the Higgs sector constrained by the charged Higgs mass bound, the neutralino-chargino sector constrained by the chargino mass bound, and the third-generation squark sector tightly constrained by the observed Higgs mass. Total contributions to EWPTs in the MSSM and NMSSM are both presented. It turns out that natural MSSM is excluded at 68\% CL but consistent at 95\%…
We consider supersymmetric models in which the lightest Higgs scalar can decay invisibly consistent with the constraints on the $126$~GeV state discovered at the CERN LHC. We consider the invisible decay in the minimal supersymmetric standard model~(MSSM), as well its extension containing an additional chiral singlet superfield, the so-called next-to-minimal or nonminimal supersymmetric standard model~(NMSSM).We consider the case of MSSM with both universal as well as nonuniversal gaugino masses at the grand unified scale, and find that only an $E_6$ grand unified model with unnaturally large …
Low-energy supersymmetric models such as MSSM, NMSSM and MSSM with vectorlike fermion are consistent with perturbative unification. While the non-minimal extensions naturally explain Higgs mass and dark matter in the low energy region, it is unclear how seriously they are constrained in the ultraviolet region. Our study shows that $i)$, In the case of embedding MSSM into $\rm{SU}(5)$, the fit to SM fermion masses requires a singlet $S$, which leads to unviable embedding of NMSSM into $\rm{SU}(5)$ because such $S$ feeds singlet $N$ a mass of order unification scale as well. $ii)$, Similar resul…
The recent discovery of a Higgs-like boson at the LHC with a mass of 126 GeV has revived the interest in supersymmetric models, which predicted a Higgs boson mass below 130 GeV long before its discovery. We compare systematically the allowed parameter space in the constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) and the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Model (NMSSM) by minimizing the chi^2 function with respect to all known constraints from accelerators and cosmology using GUT scale parameters. For the CMSSM the Higgs boson mass at tree level is below the Z^0 boson mass and large radiat…
We highlight the differences of the dark matter sector between the constrained minimal supersymmetric SM (CMSSM) and the next-to-minimal supersymmetric SM (NMSSM) including the 126 GeV Higgs boson using GUT scale parameters. In the dark matter sector the two models are quite orthogonal: in the CMSSM the WIMP is largely a bino and requires large masses from the LHC constraints. In the NMSSM the WIMP has a large singlino component and is therefore independent of the LHC SUSY mass limits. The light NMSSM neutralino mass range is of interest for the hints concerning light WIMPs in the Fermi data. …
A detection at the Large Hadron Collider of a light Higgs pseudoscalar would, if interpreted in a supersymmetric framework, be a smoking gun signature of non-minimal supersymmetry. In this work in the framework of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model we focus on vector boson fusion and Higgs-strahlung production of heavier scalars that subsequently decay into pairs of light pseudoscalars. We demonstrate that although these channels have in general very limited reach, they are viable for the detection of light pseudoscalars in some parts of parameter space and can serve as an impor…
We conduct a numerical study over the constrained MSSM (CMSSM), Next-to-MSSM (NMSSM) and $U(1)$ extended MSSM (UMSSM) to probe the allowed mass ranges of the charged Higgs boson and its dominant decay patterns, which might come into prominence in near future collider experiments. {We present results obtained from a limited scan for CMSSM} as a basis and compare its predictions with the extended models. We observe within our data that a wide mass range is allowed as $0.5(1) \lesssim m_{H^{\pm}} \lesssim 17$ TeV in UMSSM (NMSSM). We find that the dominant decay channel is mostly $H^{\pm}\rightar…
We study the phenomenological viability of a constrained NMSSM with parameters subject to unified boundary conditions from F-theory GUTs. We find that very simple assumptions about modulus dominance SUSY breaking in F-theory unification lead to a predictive set of boundary conditions, consistent with all phenomenological constraints. The second lightest scalar Higgs H_2 can get a mass m_{H_2} ~ 125 GeV and has properties similar to the SM Higgs. On the other hand the lightest scalar H_1, with a dominant singlet component, would have barely escaped detection at LEP and could be observable at LH…
The discovery of a 126 GeV Higgs like scalar at the LHC along with the non observation of the supersymmetric particles, has in turn lead to constraining various supersymmetric models through the Higgs data. We here consider the case of both MSSM, as well its extension containing an additional chiral singlet superfield, NMSSM. We concentrate on the case where we identify the second lightest Higgs boson as the 126 GeV state discovered at the CERN LHC and consider the invisible decays of the low mass Higgs bosons in both MSSM and NMSSM. We find that in case of the MSSM with universal boundary con…
Recent results from the Cryogenic Dark Matter Search (CDMS) experiment have renewed interest in light dark matter with a large spin-independent neutralino-nucleon scattering cross-section. Here, we examine the regions of the Next-to-MSSM (NMSSM) capable of producing a light neutralino with a large spin-independent scattering cross-section, with the scattering mediated by a very light singlet-like scalar, and a 126 GeV Standard Model-like Higgs consistent with the LHC results, while satisfying other relevant cosmological, flavor and collider constraints. We focus on two different scenarios for …
The next-to-minimal supersymmetric model with a light doublet-like CP-odd Higgs boson and small $\tan β$ can satisfy all experimental limits on Higgs bosons even with light superpartners. In these scenarios, the two lightest CP-even Higgs bosons, $\hi$ and $\hii$, and the charged Higgs boson, $\hp$, can all be light enough to be produced at LEP and yet have decays that have not been looked for or are poorly constrained by existing collider experiments. The channel $\hi\to \ai\ai$ (where $\ai$ is the lightest CP-odd boson and has mass below $2m_b$) with $\ai\to τ^+τ^-$ or $2j$ is still awaiting…
Due to the limited statistics so far accumulated in the Higgs boson search at the LHC, the Higgs boson property has not yet been tightly constrained and it is still allowed for the Higgs boson to decay invisibly to dark matter with a sizable branching ratio. In this work, we examine the Higgs decay to neutralino dark matter in low energy SUSY by considering three different models: the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard models (NMSSM) and the nearly minimal supersymmetric standard model (nMSSM). Under current experimental constraints at 2-s…
