We develop a covariant kinetic theory for massive fermions in curved spacetime and external electromagnetic field based on quantum field theory. We derive four coupled semi-classical kinetic equations accurate at $O(\hbar)$, which describe the transports of particle number and spin degrees of freedom. The relation with the chiral kinetic theory is discussed. As an application, we study the spin polarization in the presence of finite Riemann curvature and electromagnetic field in both local and global equilibrium states.

Covariant Perturbation Theory of Non-Abelian Kinetic Theory

A double perturbation idea is presented in framework of the quark-gluon plasma kinetic theory. A solvable set of equations from the 'double perturbation' is derived and the equations are showed to be gauge-independent. Covariant Chiral Kinetic Equation in Non-Abelian Gauge field from "covariant gradient expansion"

We derive the chiral kinetic equation in 8 dimensional phase space in non-Abelian $SU(N)$ gauge field within the Wigner function formalism. By using the "covariant gradient expansion", we disentangle the Wigner equations in four-vector space up to the first order and find that only the time-like component of the chiral Wigner function is independent while other components can be explicit derivative. Covariant kinetic theory and transport coefficients for Gribov plasma

Gribov quantization is a method to improve the infrared dynamics of Yang-Mills theory. We study the thermodynamics and transport properties of a plasma consisting of gluons whose propagator is improved by the Gribov prescription. We first construct thermodynamics of Gribov plasma using the gauge invariant Gribov dispersion relation for interacting gluons. Quantum Kinetic Theory with Vector and Axial Gauge Fields

In this paper we introduce the axial gauge field to the framework of the quantum kinetic theory with vector gauge field in the massless limit. Treating axial-gauge field on an equal footing with the vector-gauge field, we construct a consistent solution to the kinetic equations up to the first order in gradient expansion or equivalently the semi-classical expansion. Lorentz-covariant kinetic theory for massive spin-1/2 particles

We construct a matrix-valued spin-dependent distribution function (MVSD) for massive spin-1/2 fermions and study its properties under Lorentz transformations. Such transformations result in a Wigner rotation in spin space and in a nontrivial matrix-valued shift in space-time, which corresponds to the side jump in the massless case. Relaxation from color Compton Scattering of Plasmons in A Collisionless Quark-Gluon Plasma

Non-Abelian kinetic effects are taken into account for the study of the relaxation of collective motion in a quark-gluon plasma(QGP). An explicit Compton scattering is considered to calculate the relaxation time. It is shown that the new non-Abelian relaxation has a physical mechanism from the non-linear dynamics and the meaning of the relaxation is discussed.

Photon Self-energy in Magnetized Chiral Plasma from Kinetic Theory

We study the photon self-energy in magnetized chiral plasma by solving the response of electromagnetic field perturbations in chiral kinetic theory with Landau level states. With lowest Landau level approximation and in collisionless limit, we find solutions for three particular perturbations: parallel electric field, static perpendicular electric and magnetic field, corresponding to chiral magnetic wave, drift state and tilted state, from which we extract components of photon self-energy in different kinematics.
