Analytic functions defined on a tube domain $T^{C}\subset \mathbb{C}^{n}$ and taking values in a Banach space $X$ which are known to have $X$-valued distributional boundary values are shown to be in the Hardy space $H^{p}(T^{C},X)$ if the boundary value is in the vector valued Lebesgue space $L^{p}(\mathbb{R}^{n},X)$, where $1\leq p \leq \infty$ and $C$ is a regular open convex cone. Poisson integral transform representations of elements of $H^{p}(T^{C}, X)$ are also obtained for certain classes of Banach spaces, including reflexive Banach spaces.
We are concerned with Hardy and BMO spaces of operator-valued functions analytic in the unit disk of $\mathbb{C}.$ In the case of the Hardy space, we involve the atomic decomposition since the usual argument in the scalar setting is not suitable. Several properties (the Garsia-norm equivalent theorem, Carleson measure, and so on) of BMOA spaces are extended to the operator-valued setting. Then, the operator-valued $\mathrm{H}^1$-BMOA duality theorem is proved. Finally, by the $\mathrm{H}^1$-BMOA duality we present the Lusin area integral and Littlewood-Paley $g$-function characterizations of t…
Given a Banach space $X$ and $1 \leq p \leq \infty$, it is well known that the two Hardy spaces $H_p(\mathbb{T},X)$ ($\mathbb{T}$ the torus) and $H_p(\mathbb{D},X)$ ($\mathbb{D}$ the disk) have to be distinguished carefully. This motivates us to define and study two different types of Hardy spaces $\mathcal{H}_p(X)$ and $\mathcal{H}^+_p(X)$ of Dirichlet series $\sum_n a_n n^{-s}$ with coefficients in $X$. We characterize them in terms of summing operators as well as holomorphic functions in infinitely many variables, and prove that they coincide whenever $X$ has the analytic Radon-Nikodým Prop…
In this paper, we continue our investigation of function spaces on certain classes of complex-valued functions. In particular, we give characterizations on Hardy-type, Bergman-type and Dirichlet-type spaces. Furthermore, we present applications of our results to certain nonlinear PDEs.
In this paper, we establish a Bloch-type growth theorem for generalized Bloch-type spaces and discuss relationships between Dirichlet-type spaces and Hardy-type spaces on certain classes of complex-valued functions. Then we present some applications to non-homogeneous Yukawa PDEs. We also consider some properties of the Lipschitz-type spaces on certain classes of complex-valued functions. Finally, we will study a class of composition operators on these spaces.
The main purpose of this paper is to discuss Hardy type spaces, Bloch type spaces and the composition operators of complex-valued harmonic functions. We first establish a sharp estimate of the Lipschitz continuity of complex-valued harmonic functions in Bloch type spaces with respect to the pseudo-hyperbolic metric, which gives an answer to an open problem. Then some classes of composition operators on Bloch and Hardy type spaces will be investigated. The obtained results improve and extend some corresponding known results.
In analogy to complex function theory we introduce a Szegö metric in the context of hypercomplex function theory dealing with functions that take values in a Clifford algebra. In particular, we are dealing with Clifford algebra valued functions that are annihilated by the Euclidean Dirac operator in $\mathbb{R}^{m+1}$. These are often called monogenic functions. As a consequence of the isometry between two Hardy spaces of monogenic functions on domains that are related to each other by a conformal map, the generalized Szegö metric turns out to have a pseudo-invariance under Möbius transformati…
We study bounds for the backward shift operator $f \mapsto (f(z)-f(0))/z$ and the related operator $f \mapsto f - f(0)$ on Hardy and Bergman spaces of analytic and harmonic functions. If $u$ is a real valued harmonic function, we also find a sharp bound on $M_1(r,u-u(0))$ in terms of $\|u\|_{h^1}$, where $M_1$ is the integral mean with $p=1$.
In this note we obtain a version of the well-known Riesz's theorem on conjugate harmonic functions for Lumer's Hardy spaces $(Lh)^2(Ω)$ on arbitrary domains $Ω$: If a real-valued harmonic function $U\in (Lh)^2(Ω)$ has a harmonic conjugate $V$ on $Ω$ (i.e., a real-valued harmonic function such that $U+ iV$ is analytic on $Ω$), then $U+iV$ also belongs to $(Lh)^2(Ω)$, and for the normalized conjugate we have the norm estimate $\|U+iV\|_{(Lh)^2(Ω)}\le\sqrt{2} \|U\|_{(Lh)^2(Ω)}$, with the best possible constant.
We prove that a $IR n+1$-valued vector field on IR n is the sum of the traces of two harmonic gradients, one in each component of $IR n+1 \ IR n$ , and of a $IR n$-valued divergence free vector field. We apply this to the description of vanishing potentials in divergence form. The results are stated in terms of Clifford Hardy spaces, the structure of which is important for our study.
We give a new characterization of character-automorphic Hardy spaces of order 2 and of their contractive multipliers in terms of de Branges Rovnyak spaces. Keys tools in our arguments are analytic extension and a factorization result for matrix-valued analytic functions due to Leech.
The invariant subspaces of the Hardy space on $H^2(\mathbb{D})$ of the unit disc are very well known however in several variables the structure of the invariant subspaces of the classical Hardy spaces is not yet fully understood. In this study we examine the invariant subspace problem for Poletsky-Stessin Hardy spaces which is a natural generalization of the classical Hardy spaces to hyperconvex domains in $\mathbb{C}^n$. We showed that not all invariant subspaces of $H^{2}_{\tilde{u}}(\mathbb{D}^2)$ are of Beurling-type. To characterize the Beurling-type invariant subspaces of this space we f…
In this note we establish a vector-valued version of Beurling's Theorem (the Lax-Halmos Theorem) for the polydisc. As an application of the main result, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the completion problem in $H^\infty(\mathbb{D}^n)$.
This paper extends the theory of Zen spaces (weighted Hardy/Berg\-man spaces on the right-hand half-plane) to the Hilbert-space valued case, and describes the multipliers on them; it is shown that the methods of $H^\infty$ control can therefore be extended to a family of weighted $L^2$ input and output spaces. Next, the particular case of retarded delay systems with operator-valued transfer functions is analysed, and the dependence of $H^\infty$ structure on the delay is determined by developing an extension of the Walton--Marshall technique used in the scalar case. The method is illustrated w…
In this paper we consider functions in the Hardy space $\mathbf{H}_2^{p\times q}$ defined in the unit disc of matrix-valued. We show that it is possible, as in the scalar case, to decompose those functions as linear combinations of suitably modified matrix-valued Blaschke product, in an adaptive way. The procedure is based on a generalization to the matrix-valued case of the maximum selection principle which involves not only selections of suitable points in the unit disc but also suitable orthogonal projections. We show that the maximum selection principle gives rise to a convergent algorithm…
We give an atomic decomposition of closed forms on R n , the coefficients of which belong to some Hardy space of Musielak-Orlicz type. These spaces are natural generalizations of weighted Hardy-Orlicz spaces, when the Orlicz function depends on the space variable. One of them, called H log , appears naturally when considering products of functions in the Hardy space H 1 and in BM O. As a main consequence of the atomic decomposition, we obtain a weak factorization of closed forms whose coefficients are in H log. Namely, a closed form in H log is the infinite sum of the wedge product between an …
We give a complete characterization of invariant subspaces for $(M_{z_1}, \ldots, M_{z_n})$ on the Hardy space $H^2(\mathbb{D}^n)$ over the unit polydisc $\mathbb{D}^n$ in $\mathbb{C}^n$, $n >1$. In particular, this yields a complete set of unitary invariants for invariant subspaces for $(M_{z_1}, \ldots, M_{z_n})$ on $H^2(\mathbb{D}^n)$, $n > 1$. As a consequence, we classify a large class of $n$-tuples, $n > 1$, of commuting isometries. All of our results hold for vector-valued Hardy spaces over $\mathbb{D}^n$, $n > 1$. Our invariant subspace theorem solves the well-known open problem on cha…
This article studies the Fourier spectrum characterization of functions in the Clifford algebra-valued Hardy spaces $H^p(\mathbf R^{n+1}_+), 1\leq p\leq \infty.$ Namely, for $f\in L^p(\mathbf R^n)$, Clifford algebra-valued, $f$ is further the non-tangential boundary limit of some function in $H^p(\mathbf R^{n+1}_+),$ $1\leq p\leq \infty,$ if and only if $\hat{f}=χ_+\hat{f},$ where $χ_+(\underlineξ)=\frac{1}{2}(1+i\frac{\underline ξ}{|\underline ξ|}),$ where the Fourier transformation and the above relation are suitably interpreted (for some cases in the distribution sense). These results furth…
This paper concerns a commutant lifting theorem and a Nevanlinna-Pick type interpolation result in the setting of multipliers from vector-valued Drury-Arveson space to a large class of vector-valued reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces over the unit ball in $\mathbb{C}^n$. The special case of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces includes all natural examples of Hilbert spaces like Hardy space, Bergman space and weighted Bergman spaces over the unit ball.
Recently, several papers have considered a nonlinear analogue of Fourier series in signal analysis, referred to as either nonlinear phase unwinding or adaptive Fourier decomposition. In these processes, a signal is represented as the real component of a complex function $F: \partial\mathbb{D}\to \mathbb{C}$, and by performing an iterative method to obtain a sequence of Blaschke decompositions, the signal can be approximated using only a few terms. To better understand the convergence of these methods, the study of Blaschke decompositions on weighted Hardy spaces was studied by Coifman and Stei…
