We study the inequality $$ {\rm div}\big(|x|^{-α}|\nabla u|^{m-2}\nabla u\big)\geq (I_β\ast u^p)u^q \quad\mbox{ in } B_1\setminus\{0\}\subset {\mathbb R}^N, $$ where $α>0$, $N\geq 1$, $m>1$, $p, q>m-1$ and $I_β$ denotes the Riesz potential of order $β\in(0, N)$. We obtain sharp conditions in terms of these parameters for which positive singular solutions exist. We further establish the asymptotic profile of singular solutions to the double inequality $$ a(I_β\ast u^p)u^q\geq {\rm div}\big(|x|^{-α}|\nabla u|^{m-2}\nabla u\big)\geq b(I_β\ast u^p)u^q \quad\mbox{ in } B_1\setminus\{0\}\subset {\mathbb R}^N, $$ where $a\geq b>0$ are constants.
In the sub-Riemannian setting of Carnot groups, this work investigates a-priori estimates and Liouville type theorems for solutions of coercive, quasilinear differential inequalities of the type $$ Δ_{\mathbb{G}}^φu \ge b(x) f(u) l(|\nabla u|). $$ Prototype examples of $Δ_{\mathbb{G}}^φ$ are the (subelliptic) $p$-Laplacian and the mean curvature operator. The main novelty of the present paper is that we allow a dependence on the gradient $l(t)$ that can vanish both as $t \rightarrow 0^+$ and as $t \rightarrow +\infty$. Our results improve on the recent literature and, by means of suitable coun…
We consider the forced problem $-Δ_p u - V(x)|u|^{p-2} u = f(x)$, where $Δ_p$ is the $p$-Laplacian ($1<p<\infty$) in a domain $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^N$, $V\ge 0$ and $Q_V (u) := \int_Ω|\nabla u|^p\, dx - \int_ΩV|u|^p\,dx$ satisfies the condition (A) stated at the beginning of the paper. We show that this problem has a solution for all $f$ in a suitable space of distributions. Then we apply this result to some classes of functions $V$ which in particular include the Hardy potential and the potential $V(x)=λ_{1,p}(Ω)$, where $λ_{1,p}(Ω)$ is the Poincaré constant on an infinite strip.
This paper deals with the periodic homogenization of nonlocal parabolic Hamilton-Jacobi equations with superlinear growth in the gradient terms. We show that the problem presents different features depending on the order of the nonlocal operator, giving rise to three different limit problems. To prove the locally uniform convergence to the unique solution of the Cauchy problem for the effective equation we need a new comparison principle among viscosity semi-solutions of integro-differential equations that can be of independent interest.
We prove global essential boundedness for the weak solutions of divergence form quasilinear systems. The principal part of the differential operator is componentwise coercive and supports controlled growths with respect to the solution and its gradient, while the lower order term exhibits componentwise controlled gradient growth. The x-behaviour of the nonlinearities is governed in terms of Morrey spaces.
We consider a family of quasilinear second order elliptic differential operators which are not coercive and are defined by functions in Marcinkiewicz spaces. We prove the existence of a solution to the corresponding Dirichlet problem. The associated obstacle problem is also solved. Finally, we show higher integrability of a solution to the Dirichlet problem when the datum is more regular.
We introduce a new class of quasilinear nonlocal operators and study equations involving these operators. The operators are degenerate elliptic and may have arbitrary growth in the gradient. Included are new nonlocal versions of p-Laplace, $\infty$-Laplace, mean curvature of graph, and even strongly degenerate operators, in addition to some nonlocal quasilinear operators appearing in the existing literature. Our main results are comparison, uniqueness, and existence results for viscosity solutions of linear and fully nonlinear equations involving these operators. Because of the structure of ou…
This paper is concerned with a quaslinear parabolic equation including a nonlinear nonlocal initial condition. The problem arises as equilibrium equation in population dynamics with nonlinear diffusion. We make use of global bifurcation theory to prove existence of an unbounded continuum of positive solutions.
We consider mixed local and nonlocal quasilinear parabolic equations of $p$-Laplace type and discuss several regularity properties of weak solutions for such equations. More precisely, we establish local boundeness of weak subsolutions, lower semicontinuity of weak supersolutions as well as upper semicontinuity of weak subsolutions. We also discuss the pointwise behavior of the semicontinuous representatives. Our main results are valid for sign changing solutions. Our approach is purely analytic and is based on energy estimates and the De Giorgi theory.
We study the uniqueness problem of $σ$-regular solution of the equation, $$-Δ_p u+ \abs u^{q-1}u =h \quad on\quad \RN, $$ where $q>p-1>0.$ and $N> p.$ Other coercive type equations associated to more general differential operators are also investigated. Our uniqueness results hold for equations associated to the mean curvature type operators as well as for more general quasilinear subelliptic operators.

We consider a combination of local and nonlocal $p$-Laplace equations and discuss several regularity properties of weak solutions. More precisely, we establish local boundedness of weak subsolutions, local Hölder continuity of weak solutions, Harnack inequality for weak solutions and weak Harnack inequality for weak supersolutions. We also discuss lower semicontinuity of weak supersolutions as well as upper semicontinuity of weak subsolutions. Our approach is purely analytic and it is based on the De Giorgi-Nash-Moser theory, the expansion of positivity and estimates involving a tail term. The…
In this article, we consider mixed local and nonlocal Sobolev $(q,p)$-inequalities with extremal in the case $0<q<1<p<\infty$. We prove that the extremal of such inequalities is unique up to a multiplicative constant that is associated with a singular elliptic problem involving the mixed local and nonlocal $p$-Laplace operator. Moreover, it is proved that the mixed Sobolev inequalities are necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of weak solutions of such singular problems. As a consequence, a relation between the singular $p$-Laplace and mixed local and nonlocal $p$-Laplace equati…
We study a class of systems of quasilinear differential inequalities associated to weakly coercive differential operators and power reaction terms. The main model cases are given by the $p$-Laplacian operator as well as the mean curvature operator in non parametric form. We prove that if the exponents lie under a certain curve, then the system has only the trivial solution. These results hold without any restriction provided the possible solutions are more regular. The underlying framework is the classical Euclidean case as well as the Carnot groups setting.
We investigate the existence and nonexistence of positive solutions for the quasilinear elliptic inequality $L_\mathcal{A} u= -{\rm div}[\mathcal{A}(x, u, \nabla u)]\geq (I_α\ast u^p)u^q$ in $Ω$, where $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^N, N\geq 1,$ is an open set. Here $I_α$ stands for the Riesz potential of order $α\in (0, N)$, $p>0$ and $q\in \mathbb{R}$. For a large class of operators $L_\mathcal{A}$ (which includes the $m$-Laplace and the $m$-mean curvature operator) we obtain optimal ranges of exponents $p,q$ and $α$ for which positive solutions exist. Our methods are then extended to quasilinear elli…
In this paper, we propose quasilinearization methods that convert nonlocal fully-nonlinear parabolic systems into the nonlocal quasilinear parabolic systems. The nonlocal parabolic systems serve as important mathematical tools for modelling the subgame perfect equilibrium solutions to time-inconsistent dynamic choice problems, which are motivated by the study of behavioral economics. Different types of nonlocal parabolic systems were studied but left behind the fully-nonlinear case and the connections among them. This paper shows the equivalence in solvability between nonlocal fully-nonlinear …
In this paper, we prove the existence and global boundedness from above for a solution to an integrodifferential model for nonisothermal multi-phase transitions under nonhomogeneous third type boundary conditions. The system couples a quasilinear internal energy balance ruling the evolution of the absolute temperature with a vectorial integro-differential inclusion governing the (vectorial) phase-parameter dynamics. The specific heat and the heat conductivity are allowed to depend both on the order parameter and on the absolute temperature of the system, and the convex component of the free en…
In this work, we present results on stability and hyperbolicity of equilibria for a scalar nonlocal one-dimensional quasilinear parabolic problem. We show that this nonlocal version of the well-known Chafee-Infante equation bares some resemblance with the local version. However, its nonlocal characteristc requires a fine analysis of the spectrum of the associated linear operators, a lot more ellaborated than the local case. The saddle point property of equilibria is shown to hold for this quasilinear model.

Some qualitative and quantitative properties of weak solutions to mixed anisotropic and nonlocal quasilinear elliptic and doubly nonlinear parabolic equations
We obtain an existence and uniqueness theorem for fully coupled forward-backward SDEs (FBSDEs) with jumps via the classical solution to the associated quasilinear parabolic partial integro-differential equation (PIDE), and provide the explicit form of the FBSDE solution. Moreover, we embed the associated PIDE into a suitable class of non-local quasilinear parabolic PDEs which allows us to extend the methodology of Ladyzhenskaya et al (1968) to non-local PDEs of this class. Namely, we obtain the existence and uniqueness of a classical solution to both the Cauchy problem and the initial-boundary…
In this paper we establish the theory on semiglobal classical solution to first order quasilinear hyperbolic systems with a kind of nonlocal boundary conditions, and based on this, the corresponding exact boundary controllability and observability are obtained by a constructive method. Moreover, with the linearized Saint-Venant system and the 1-D linear wave equation as examples, we show that the number of both boundary controls and boundary observations can not be reduced, and consequently, we conclude that the exact boundary controllability for a hyperbolic system in a network with loop can …
In this article, we study a one-dimensional nonlocal quasilinear problem of the form $u_t=a(\Vert u_x\Vert^2)u_{xx}+νf(u)$, with Dirichlet boundary conditions on the interval $[0,π]$, where $0<m\leq a(s)\leq M$ for all $s\in \mathbb{R}^+$ and $f$ satisfies suitable conditions. We give a complete characterization of the bifurcations and of the hyperbolicity of the corresponding equilibria. With respect to the bifurcations we extend the existing result when the function $a(\cdot)$ is non-decreasing to the case of general smooth nonlocal diffusion functions showing that bifurcations may be pitchf…
In this paper we deal with the well-posedness of Dirichlet problems associated to nonlocal Hamilton-Jacobi parabolic equations in a bounded, smooth domain $Ω$, in the case when the classical boundary condition may be lost. We address the problem for both coercive and noncoercive Hamiltonians: for coercive Hamiltonians, our results rely more on the regularity properties of the solutions, while noncoercive case are related to optimal control problems and the arguments are based on a careful study of the dynamics near the boundary of the domain. Comparison principles for bounded sub and supersolu…
In this paper we study the geometry of certain functionals associated to quasilinear elliptic boundary value problems with a degenerate nonlocal term of Kirchhoff type. Due to the degeneration of the nonlocal term it is not possible to directly use classical results such as uniform a-priori estimates and "Sobolev versus Hölder local minimizers" type of results. We prove that results similar to these hold true or not, depending on how degenerate the problem is. We apply our findings in order to show existence and multiplicity of solutions for the associated quasilinear equations, considering se…
In this paper we consider the problem u in H^1_0 (Omega), - div (A(x) Du) = H(x, u, Du) + f(x) + a_0 (x) u in D'(Omega), where Omega is an open bounded set of R^N, N \geq 3, A(x) is a coercive matrix with coefficients in L^\infty(Omega), H(x, s, xi) is a Carathéodory function which satisfies for some gamma > 0 -c_0 A(x) xi xi \leq H(x, s, xi) sign (s) \leq gamma A(x) xi xi a.e. x in Omega, forall s in R, forall xi in R^N, f belongs to L^{N/2} (Omega), and a_0 \geq 0 to L^q (Omega ), q > N/2. For f and a_0 sufficiently small, we prove the existence of at least one solution u of this problem whi…
In this paper, we provide suitable adaptations of the "weak version of Bernstein method" introduced by the first author in 1991, in order to obtain Lipschitz regularity results and Lipschitz estimates for nonlinear integro-differential elliptic and parabolic equations set in the whole space. Our interest is to obtain such Lipschitz results to possibly degenerate equations, or to equations which are indeed "uniformly el-liptic" (maybe in the nonlocal sense) but which do not satisfy the usual "growth condition" on the gradient term allowing to use (for example) the Ishii-Lions' method. We treat …
We consider the $N$-Laplacian Schrödinger equation strongly coupled with higher order fractional Poisson's equations. When the order of the Riesz potential $α$ is equal to the Euclidean dimension $N$, and thus it is a logarithm, the system turns out to be equivalent to a nonlocal Choquard type equation. On the one hand, the natural function space setting in which the Schrödinger energy is well defined is the Sobolev limiting space $W^{1,N}(\mathbb{R}^N)$, where the maximal nonlinear growth is of exponential type. On the other hand, in order to have the nonlocal energy well defined and prove th…

We consider a quasilinear equation given in the half-space, i.e. a so called boundary reaction problem. Our concerns are a geometric Poincaré inequality and, as a byproduct of this inequality, a result on the symmetry of low-dimensional bounded stable solutions, under some suitable assumptions on the nonlinearities. More precisely, we analyze the following boundary problem $$ \left\{\begin{matrix} -{\rm div} (a(x,|\nabla u|)\nabla u)+g(x,u)=0 \qquad {on $\R^n\times(0,+\infty)$} -a(x,|\nabla u|)u_x = f(u) \qquad{\mbox{on $\R^n\times\{0\}$}}\end{matrix} \right.$$ under some natural assumptions o…
We consider a nonlocal equation set in an unbounded domain with the epigraph property. We prove symmetry, monotonicity and rigidity results. In particular, we deal with halfspaces, coercive epigraphs and epigraphs that are flat at infinity.
We study quasilinear elliptic equations of the type $-Δ_{p} u = σu^{q} + μ\; \; \text{in} \;\; \bf{R}^n$ in the case $0<q< p-1$, where $μ$ and $σ$ are nonnegative measurable functions, or locally finite measures, and $Δ_{p}u= \text{div}(|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u)$ is the $p$-Laplacian. Similar equations with more general local and nonlocal operators in place of $Δ_{p}$ are treated as well. We obtain existence criteria and global bilateral pointwise estimates for all positive solutions $u$: $$ u(x) \approx (\bf{W}_p σ(x))^{\frac{p-q}{p-q-1}} + \bf{K}_{p,q} σ(x) + \bf{W}_p μ(x), \quad x \in \bf{R…
We extend classical results on variational inequalities with convex sets with gradient constraint to a new class of fractional partial differential equations in a bounded domain with constraint on the distributional Riesz fractional gradient, the $σ$-gradient ($0<σ<1$). We establish continuous dependence results with respect to the data, including the threshold of the fractional $σ$-gradient. Using these properties we give new results on the existence to a class of quasi-variational variational inequalities with fractional gradient constraint via compactness and via contraction arguments. A recent large deflection cantilever model is considered. The principal nonlinear effects come through the beam's inextensibility---local arc length preservation---rather than traditional extensible effects attributed to fully restricted boundary conditions. Enforcing inextensibility leads to: nonlinear stiffness terms, which appear as quasilinear and semilinear effects, as well as nonlinear inertia effects, appearing as nonlocal terms that make the beam implicit in the acceleration. In this paper we discuss the derivation of the equations of motion via Hamilton's principle with a Lagrange mul…
