We calculate the parameters $x$ and $y$ for the $D$ meson mixing in the Standard Model by considering a dispersion relation between them. The dispersion relation for a fictitious charm quark of arbitrary mass squared $s$ is turned into an inverse problem, via which the mixing parameters at low $s$ are solved with the perturbative inputs $x(s)$ and $y(s)$ from large $s$. It is shown that nontrivial solutions for $x$ and $y$ exist, whose values around the physical charm scale agree with the data in both CP-conserving and CP-violating cases. We then predict the observables $|q/p|-1\approx 2\times 10^{-4}$ and $Arg(q/p)\approx 6\times 10^{-3}$ degrees associated with the coefficient ratio for the $D$ meson mixing, which can be confronted with more precise future measurements. Our work represents the first successful quantitative attempt to explain the $D$ meson mixing parameters in the Standard Model.
Scalar mesons $a^0_0(980)$ and $f_0(980)$ can mix with each other through isospin violating effects, and the mixing intensity has been predicted at the percent level in various theoretical models. However the mixing has not been firmed established on the experimental side to date. In this work we explore the possibility to extract the $a_0-f_0$ mixing intensity using weak decays of heavy mesons: $D_s\to [π^0η, ππ] e^+ν$, $B_s\to [π^0η, ππ]\ell^+\ell^-$ and the $B_s\to J/ψ[π^0η,π^+π^-]$ decays. Based on the large amount of data accumulated by various experimental facilities including BEPC-II, L…
The mass spectra, mixing angle and decay constants of the $J^P=1^+$ heavy-light mesons are systematically studied within the framework of the Bethe-Salpeter equation (BSE). The full $1^+$ Salpeter wave function is given for the first time. The mixing between the $1^{+-}$ and $1^{++}$ in the $1^+$ heavy-light systems are automatically determined by the dynamics in the equation without any man-made mixing. The results indicate that in a rigorous study there exists the phenomenon of mixing angle inversion or mass inversion within $1^{+}$ heavy-light doublet, which is sensitive to the $s$-quark ma…
Meson mixing is considered to be an ideal candidate for new physics searches. Current experimental precision has greatly increased over the recent years, excelling in several cases the theoretical precision. A possible limit in the theoretical accuracy could be a hypothetical breakdown of quark-hadron duality. We propose a simple model for duality violations and give stringent bounds on such effects for mixing observables, indicating regions, where future measurements of $ΔΓ_d$, $a_{sl}^d$ and $a_{sl}^s$ would be clear signals of new physics. Finally, we turn our attention to the charm sector,…
Based on the mechanism of neutral meson mixing, we predict the branching fraction of the semileptonic decay of $D_s^+\to π^0 \ell^+ ν_\ell$ ($\ell=e$, $μ$) using recently measured branching fraction of $D_s^+\to ηe^+ν_e$ by BESIII experiment . We also give a formula that can describe the neutral meson mixing of $π^0$, $η$, $η'$ and a pseudoscalar gluonium $G$ in a unified way. The predicted branching fraction of $D_s^+\toπ^0 e^+ν_e$ decay is $\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\toπ^0 e^+ν_e)=(2.65\pm 0.38)\times 10^{-5}$. It is important to search for the decay $D_s^+\to π^0 \ell^+ ν_\ell$ in experiment, in ord…
We derive a QCD sum rule for the inverse moment of the $B_s$-meson light-cone distribution amplitude in HQET. Within this method, the $SU(3)_{fl}$ symmetry violation is traced to the strange quark mass and to the difference between strange and nonstrange quark condensate densities. We predict the ratio of inverse moments $λ_{B_s}/λ_B= 1.19 \pm 0.14$ which can be used in various applications of these distribution amplitudes to the analyses of $B_{s}$-meson decays, provided an accurate value of $λ_B$ is available from other sources, such as the $B\to \ell ν_\ell γ$ decay.
Calculations in unquenched QCD for the scalar glueball spectrum have confirmed previous results of Gluodynamics finding a glueball at ~ 1750 MeV. I analyze the implications of this discovery from the point of view of glueball-meson mixing at the light of the experimental scalar sprectrum.
In this talk, we summarize our recent works on the tetraquark mixing framework for the two light-meson nonets in the $J^{PC} = 0^{++}$ channel, the light nonet [$a_0(980)$, $K_0^*(700)$, $f_0(500)$, $f_0(980)$] and the heavy nonet [$a_0(1450)$, $K_0^*(1430)$, $f_0(1370)$, $f_0(1500)$]. We briefly explain this mixing framework and present various phenomenological signatures to support this picture.
We explore conventional meson-hybrid mixing in $J^{PC}=1^{++}$ heavy quarkonium using QCD Laplace sum-rules. We calculate the cross-correlator between a heavy conventional meson current and heavy hybrid current within the operator product expansion, including terms proportional to the four- and six-dimensional gluon condensates and the six-dimensional quark condensate. Using experimentally determined hadron masses, we construct models of the $1^{++}$ charmonium and bottomonium mass spectra. These models are used to investigate which resonances couple to both currents and thus exhibit conventio…
We study mixing between conventional and hybrid mesons in vector and axial vector charmonium using QCD Laplace sum-rules. We compute meson-hybrid cross correlators within the operator product expansion, taking into account condensate contributions up to and including those of dimension-six as well as composite operator renormalization-induced diagrams. Using measured masses of charmonium-like states as input, we probe known resonances for nonzero coupling to both conventional and hybrid meson currents, a signal for meson-hybrid mixing.
Based on the relations from the meson-meson mass mixing matrix, the mixing angles of isoscalar state have been re-evaluated via mass relations and latest experimental results. The results in the present work are compared with the values from different theoretical models, meanwhile, the quarkonia content of isoscalar state are presented. In order to check the validity of analysis, some predictions on the decays of the isoscalar state are presented. These predictions may be useful for the phenomenological analysis for meson nonet in future experiments.
We use QCD Laplace sum-rules to explore mixing between conventional mesons and hybrids in the heavy quarkonium vector $J^{PC}\!=\!1^{--}$ channel. Our cross-correlator includes perturbation theory and contributions proportional to the four-dimensional and six-dimensional gluon condensates. We input experimentally determined charmonium and bottomonium hadron masses into both single and multi-resonance models in order to test them for conventional meson and hybrid components. In the charmonium sector we find evidence for meson-hybrid mixing in the $J/ψ$ and a $\approx4.3$ GeV resonance. In the b…
We discuss pure $q\bar{q}$ axial-vector mesons in the Tamm-Dancoff approximation of the Coulomb-gauge QCD model from NCSU. While recent studies have put emphasis in configuration mixing with open meson-meson channels, we here concentrate on the simpler closed-channel problem and follow the $1^+$ mixing through a wide range of quark masses. We also examine their radial excitations and discuss with them the concept of insensitivity to chiral symmetry breaking.
We study $\bar qq$-hybrid mixing for the light vector mesons and $\bar qq$-glueball mixing for the light scalar mesons in Monte-Carlo based QCD Laplace sum rules. By calculating the two-point correlation function of a vector $\bar qγ_μq$ (scalar $\bar q q$) current and a hybrid (glueball) current we are able to estimate the mass and the decay constants of the corresponding mixed "physical state" that couples to both currents. Our results do not support strong quark/gluonic mixing for either the $1^{--}$ or the $0^{++}$ states.
The mixing angle, mass and couplings of the light scalar mesons $f_0(500)$ and $f_0(980)$ are calculated in the framework of QCD two-point sum rule approach by assuming that they are tetraquarks with diquark-antidiquark structures. The mesons are treated as mixtures of the heavy $|H\rangle =([su][\bar s \bar u]+[sd][\bar s \bar d])/\sqrt 2$ and light $|L\rangle =[ud][\bar u \bar d]$ scalar diquark-antidiquark components. We extract from corresponding sum rules the mixing angles $φ_H$ and $φ_L$ of these states and evaluate the masses and couplings of the particles $ f_0(500) $ and $f_0(980)$.
Neutral meson mixing and $CP$ violation are very well known weak processes that involve decays to meson states that are, in general, a superposition of flavor eigenstates. This paper describes a mathematical interpretation of the time-dependent mixing amplitudes as a complex hyperbolic rotation of the time evolution of those amplitudes without mixing, which involves a Lie group $SO(1,1,\mathbb{C})$. This allows a geometric interpretation of mixing as a curve into the $SO(1,1,\mathbb{C})$ manifold, parameterized with the proper decay time, where $CP$ violation is the image of this curve at $t =…
It is shown that the diagonalization of the axial-vector -- pseudoscalar transitions in the effective meson Lagrangian in presence of electromagnetic interactions leads to a deviation from the vector meson dominance picture which usually arises in the Nambu - Jona-Lasinio model. The essential features of such modification of the theory are studied. Some important examples are considered in detail.
We use QCD Laplace sum-rules to study meson-hybrid mixing in vector ($1^{--}$) heavy quarkonium. We compute the QCD cross-correlator between a heavy meson current and a heavy hybrid current within the operator product expansion. In addition to leading-order perturbation theory, we include four- and six-dimensional gluon condensate contributions as well as a six-dimensional quark condensate contribution. We construct several single and multi-resonance models that take known hadron masses as inputs. We investigate which resonances couple to both currents and so exhibit meson-hybrid mixing. Compa…
