In this paper, we study dynamical properties as shadowing and structural stability for a class of dynamics on $\mathbb{Z}_p$ and $\mathbb{Q}_p$, where $p \geq 2$ is a prime number. In particular, we prove that if $f: \mathbb{Z}_p \to \mathbb{Z}_p$ is a $(p^{-k},p^{m})$ ( $0 < m \leq k$ integers ) locally scaling map then $f$ is shadowing and structurally stable. We also study the number of conjugacy classes of these maps and we consider the above properties for $1$-Lipschitz maps of $\mathbb{Z}_p$ and for extensions of the shift map, contractions and dilatations on $\mathbb{Q}_p$.
The notion of stochastic shadowing property is introduced. Relations to stochastic stability and standard shadowing are studied. Using tent map as an example it is proved that, in contrast to what happens for standard shadowing, there are significantly non-uniformly hyperbolic systems that satisfy stochastic shadowing property.
We show that the Lipschitz shadowing property of a diffeomorphism is equivalent to structural stability. As a corollary, we show that an expansive diffeomorphism having the Lipschitz shadowing property is Anosov.
In this paper, we examine the notion of topological stability and its relation to the shadowing properties in zero-dimensional spaces. Several counter-examples on the topological stability and the shadowing properties are given. Also, we prove that any topologically stable (in a modified sense) homeomorphism of a Cantor space exhibits only simple typical dynamics.
We use Lyapunov type functions to give new conditions under which a homeomorphism of a compact metric space has the shadowing property. These conditions are applied to establish the topological stability of some homeomorphisms with nonhyperbolic behavior.
This paper aims at formulating definitions of topological stability, structural stability, and expansiveness property for an iterated function system( abbrev, IFS). It is going to show that the shadowing property is necessary condition for structural stability in IFSs. Then, it proves the previous converse demonstration with the addition of expansiveness property for IFSs. It asserts that structural stability implies shadowing property in IFSs and presents an example to reject of the converse assertion.
We will construct an action $Φ$, C0 and C1-stable and we will prove that every C0-stable action acting in a manifold of dimensions greater or equal to two, have the shadowing property.
We call that a vector field has the oriented shadowing property if for any $\varepsilon>0$ there is $d>0$ such that each $d$-pseudo orbit is $\varepsilon$-oriented shadowed by some real orbit. In this paper, we show that the $C^1$-interior of the set of vector fields with the oriented shadowing property is contained in the set of vector fields with the $Ω$-stability.
We show that the following three properties of a diffeomorphism $f$ of a smooth closed manifold are equivalent: (i) $f$ belongs to the $C^1$-interior of the set of diffeomorphisms having periodic shadowing property; (ii) $f$ has Lipschitz periodic shadowing property; (iii) $f$ is $Ω$-stable.
Let X be a divergence-free vector field defined on a closed, connected Riemannian manifold. In this paper, we show the equivalence between the following conditions: 1. X is in the C1-interior of the set of expansive divergence-free vector fields. 2. X is in the C1-interior of the set of divergence-free vector fields which satisfy the shadowing property. 3. X is in the C1-interior of the set of divergence-free vector fields which satisfy the Lipschitz shadowing property. 4. X has no singularities and X is Anosov.
We study iterated function systems (IFS) with compact parameter space. We show that the space of IFS with phase space $X$ is the hyperspace of the space of self continuous maps of $X$. With this result we obtain that the Hausdorff distance is a natural metric for this space which we use to define topological stability. Then we prove, in the context of IFS, the classical results showing that shadowing property is a necessary condition for topological stability and shadowing property added to expansiveness are a sufficient condition for topological stability. To prove these statements, in fact, …
Let $ϕ$ be the flow generated by a smooth vector field $X$ on a smooth closed manifold. We show that the Lipschitz shadowing property of $ϕ$ is equivalent to the structural stability of $X$ and that the Lipschitz periodic shadowing property of $ϕ$ is equivalent to the $Ω$-stability of $X$.
Let $f$ be a partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism. $f$ is called has the quasi-shadowing property if for any pseudo orbit $\{x_k\}_{k\in \mathbb{Z}}$, there is a sequence $\{y_k\}_{k\in \mathbb{Z}}$ tracing it in which $y_{k+1}$ lies in the local center leaf of $f(y_k)$ for any $k\in \mathbb{Z}$. $f$ is called topologically quasi-stable if for any homeomorphism $g$ $C^0$-close to $f$, there exist a continuous map $π$ and a motion $τ$ along the center foliation such that $π\circ g=τ\circ f\circπ$. In this paper we prove that if $f$ is dynamically coherent then it has quasi-shadowing and topologi…
We extend the notions of topological stability, shadowing and persistence from homeomorphisms to finitely generated group actions on uniform spaces and prove that an expansive action with either shadowing or persistence is topologically stable. Using the concept of null set of a Borel measure $μ$, we introduce the notions of $μ$-expansivity, $μ$-topological stability, $μ$-shadowing and $μ$-persistence for finitely generated group actions on uniform spaces and show that a $μ$-expansive action with either $μ$-shadowing or $μ$-persistence is $μ$-topologically stable.
We study expansivity and the shadowing property for finitely generated group actions on metric spaces. We consider the projecting and lifting problems for actions having these properties. We prove that every expansive action with the shadowing property is strongly $GH$-stable (Gromov-Hausdorff stable). Finally, we introduce sequential shadowing property for finitely generated group actions on metric spaces and show that such shadowing is strong enough to imply the spectral decomposition property.
A well-known result in the area of dynamical systems asserts that any invertible hyperbolic operator on any Banach space is structurally stable. This result was originally obtained by P. Hartman in 1960 for operators on finite-dimensional spaces. The general case was independently obtained by J. Palis and C. Pugh around 1968. We will exhibit examples of structurally stable operators that are not hyperbolic, thereby showing that the converse of the above-mentioned result is false in general. We will also prove that an invertible operator on a Banach space is hyperbolic if and only if it is expa…
Given a family $\{ f_λ \}_{λ\in Λ}$ of polynomial maps of degree $d$ where $Λ$ is the set of parameters, a polynomial map $f_{λ_0}$ is called {\it $J$-stable in $Λ$} if there exists a neighborhood of $λ_0$ in $Λ$ such that for any element $λ$ in the neighborhood, there exists a conjugacy between the dynamics on the Julia sets of $f_λ$ and $f_{λ_0}$. The aim of this paper is to show that a polynomial map $f_{λ_0}$ over the field $\mathbb{C}_p$ of $p$-adic complex numbers is $J$-stable in the family of polynomial maps over $\mathbb{C}_p$ if $f_{λ_0}$ is {\it immediately expanding}.
Let $p \geq 2$ be a prime number and let $\mathbb{C}_p$ be the completion of an algebraic closure of the $p$-adic rational field $\mathbb{Q}_p$. Let $f_c(z)$ be a one-parameter family of rational functions of degree $d\geq 2$, where the coefficients are meromorphic functions defined at all parameters $c$ in some open disk $D\subseteq\mathbb{C}_p$. Assuming an appropriate stability condition, we prove that the parameters $c$ for which $f_c$ is postcritically finite (PCF) are isolated from one another in the $p$-adic disk $D$, except in certain trivial cases. In particular, all PCF parameters of…
In this note we investigate the two notions of expansivity and strong structural stability for composition operators on $L^p$ spaces, $1 \leq p < \infty$. Necessary and sufficient conditions for such operators to be expansive are provided, both in the general and the dissipative case. We also show that, in the dissipative setting, the shadowing property implies the strong structural stability and we prove that these two notions are equivalent under the extra hypothesis of positive expansivity.
We prove that small nonlinear perturbations of random linear dynamics admitting a tempered exponential dichotomy have a random version of the shadowing property. As a consequence, if the exponential dichotomy is uniform, we get that the random linear dynamics is Hyers-Ulam stable. Moreover, we apply our results to study the conservation of Lyapunov exponents of the random linear dynamics subjected to nonlinear perturbations.
Let $(A_m)_{m\in \Z}$ be a sequence of bounded linear maps acting on an arbitrary Banach space $X$ and admitting an exponential trichotomy and let $f_m:X\to X$ be a Lispchitz map for every $m\in \Z$. We prove that whenever the Lipschitz constants of $f_m$, $m\in \Z$, are uniformly small, the nonautonomous dynamics given by $x_{m+1}=A_mx_m+f_m(x_m)$, $m\in \Z$, has various types of shadowing. Moreover, if $X$ is finite dimensional and each $A_m$ is invertible we prove that a converse result is also true. Furthermore, we get similar results for one-sided and continuous time dynamics. As applicat…
We obtain sufficient conditions under which the limit of a sequence of functions exhibits a particular dynamical behaviour at a point like expansivity, shadowing, mixing, sensitivity and transitivity. We provide examples to show that the set of all expansive, positively expansive and sensitive points are neither open nor closed in general. We also observe that the set of all transitive and mixing points are closed but not open in general. We give examples to show that properties like expansivity, sensitivity, shadowing, transitivity and mixing at a point need not be preserved under uniform con…
We initiate the study of p-adic algebraic groups G from the stability-theoretic and definable topological-dynamical points of view, that is, we consider invariants of the action of G on its space of types over Q_p in the language of fields. We consider the additive and multiplicative groups of Q_p and Z_p, the group of upper triangular invertible 2\times 2 matrices, SL(2,Z_p), and, our main focus, SL(2,Q_p). In all cases we identify f-generic types (when they exist), minimal subflows, and idempotents. Among the main results is that the ``Ellis group" of SL(2,Q_p)$ is the profinite completion o…
