Study of the sextic and decatic anharmonic oscillators using an interpolating scale function

Anharmonic oscillators with the sextic and decatic potentials are studied employing the refinable interpolating scale functions. This method yields highly accurate values of both energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions for the sextic and decatic oscillator without constraining the potential parameters. Convergence of the solutions in the present method is noticed to be very fast.

Perturbation theory for sextic doubly anharmonic oscillator

A simple method for the calculation of higher orders of the logarithmic perturbation theory for bound states of the spherical anharmonic oscillator is developed. The structure of the perturbation series for energy eigenvalues of the sextic doubly anharmonic oscillator is investigated. The recursion technique for deriving renormalized perturbation expansions is offered.

Classical and Quantum Oscillators of Sextic and Octic Anharmonicities

Classical oscillators of sextic and octic anharmonicities are solved analytically up to the linear power of λ(Anharmonic Constant) by using Taylor series method. These solutions exhibit the presence of secular terms which are summed up for all orders. The frequency shifts of the oscillators for small anharmonic constants are obtained. It is found that the calculated shifts agree nicely with the available results to-date. An alternative simple solution of the sextic anharmonic oscillator and perturbed Coulomb problems

Utilizing an appropriate ansatz to the wave function, we reproduce the exact bound-state solutions of the radial Schrodinger equation to various exactly solvable sextic anharmonic oscillator and confining perturbed Coulomb models in $D$-dimensions. We show that the perturbed Coulomb problem with eigenvalue $E$ can be transformed to a sextic anharmonic oscillator problem with eigenvalue E. We also check the explicit relevance of these two related problems in higher-space dimensions. Novel quasi-exactly solvable models with anharmonic singular potentials

We present new quasi-exactly solvable models with inverse quartic, sextic, octic and decatic power potentials, respectively. We solve these models exactly via the functional Bethe ansatz method. For each case, we give closed-form solutions for the energies and the wave functions as well as analytical expressions for the allowed potential parameters in terms of a set of algebraic equations.

Comparative study of quantum anharmonic potentials

We perform a study of various anharmonic potentials using a recently developed method. We calculate both the wave functions and the energy eigenvalues for the ground and first excited states of the quartic, sextic and octic potentials with high precision, comparing the results with other techniques available in the literature.

A recursion technique for deriving renormalized perturbation expansions for one-dimensional anharmonic oscillator

A new recursion procedure for deriving renormalized perturbation expansions for the one-dimensional anharmonic oscillator is offered. Based upon the $\hbar$-expansions and suitable quantization conditions, the recursion formulae obtained have the same simple form both for ground and excited states and can be easily applied to any renormalization scheme. As an example, the renormalized expansions for the sextic anharmonic oscillator are considered.

Hermite function solutions of the Schrödinger equation for the sextic oscillator

We examine the conditions under which the solution of the radial stationary Schrödinger equation for the sextic anharmonic oscillator can be expanded in terms of Hermite functions. We find that this is possible for an infinite hierarchy of potentials discriminated by the parameter setting the strength of the centrifugal barrier. A new strategy to find bound states in anharmonic oscillators

A very simple procedure to calculate eigenenergies of quantum anharmonic oscillators is presented. The method, exact but for numerical computations, consists merely in requiring the vanishing of the Wronskian of two solutions which are regular respectively at the origin and at infinity. The first one can be represented by its series expansion; for the second one, an asymptotic expansion is available. The procedure is illustrated by application to quartic and sextic oscillators.

Quasi-exact solvability, resonances and trivial monodromy in ordinary differential equations

A correspondence between the sextic anharmonic oscillator and a pair of third-order ordinary differential equations is used to investigate the phenomenon of quasi-exact solvability for eigenvalue problems involving differential operators with order greater than two. In particular, links with Bender-Dunne polynomials and resonances between independent solutions are observed for certain second-order cases, and extended to the higher-order problems.
