Employing heuristic susceptibility equations in conjunction with the well-known critical exponents, the magnetization and partition function for two-dimensional nearest neighbour Ising models are formulated in terms of the Gauss hypergeometric functions. The isomorphism existing between the Bragg-Williams approximation and the exact solution of Onsager is pointed out. The precise manner in which the critical exponents influence the partition functions is pointed out.

Partition functions for two-dimensional Ising models using Generalised Hypergeometric series and Chebyshev polynomials

The zero-field partition function of two-dimensional nearest neighbor Ising models of square lattices is derived in terms of the generalized hypergeometric series by evaluating the integral in the exact solution of Onsager. An approximate equation for the partition function in terms of Chebyshev polynomials is also provided.

The hypergeometric series for the partition function of the 2-D Ising model

In 1944 Onsager published the formula for the partition function of the Ising model for the infinite square lattice. He was able to express the internal energy in terms of a special function, but he left the free energy as a definite integral. Numerical evaluation of the Gauss hypergeometric function: Implementation and application to Schramm-Loewner evolution

Numerical studies of fractal curves in the plane often focus on subtle geometrical properties such as their left passage probability. XOR-Ising Loops and the Gaussian Free Field

We find by simulation that the interfaces in the exclusive-or (XOR) of two independent 2D Ising spin configurations at the critical temperature form an ensemble of loops that have the same distribution as the contour lines of the Gaussian free field, but with the heights of the contours spaced \sqrt{2} times as far apart as they are for the conformal loop ensemble CLE_4 or the double dimer model on the square lattice. For domains with boundary, various natural boundary conditions for the two Ising models correspond to certain boundary heights for the Gaussian free field.
