We study a class of charged cosmological black holes defined by the Shah-Vaidya solution, which is similar to the McVittie solution but for a central object of nonzero electric charge. We show that the Shah-Vaidya metric is a solution of Einstein's equations with a cuscuton and a Maxwell fields as sources, as well as a mass parameter. We then analyze the possible causal structures of the solution under some few physically reasonable assumptions, and determine the regions in the parameter space corresponding to well behaved charged cosmological black holes and those corresponding to naked singularities. The asymptotic behavior of the Hubble factor $H(t)$ is also determinant to the causal properties of the spacetime and a theorem explaining its effect is stated. Examples of causal diagrams covering all the possibles types of spacetimes allowed by our initial assumptions are drawn and discussed.
We construct new electrically charged solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations with negative cosmological constant in general odd dimensions $d=2n+3 \geq 5$. They correspond to higher dimensional generalizations of the squashed black hole solutions, which were known so far only in five dimensions. We explore numerically the general properties of such classical solutions and, using a counterterm prescription, we compute their conserved charges and discuss their thermodynamics.
The properties of static spherically symmetric black holes, which are either electrically or magnetically charged, and which are coupled to the dilaton in the presence of a cosmological constant, are considered. It is shown that such solutions do not exist if the cosmological constant is positive (in arbitrary spacetime dimension >= 4). However, asymptotically anti-de Sitter black hole solutions with a single horizon do exist if the cosmological constant is negative. These solutions are studied numerically in four dimensions and the thermodynamic properties of the solutions are derived. The ex…
We investigate the pair creation of charged black holes in a background with a positive cosmological constant. We consider $C$ metrics with a cosmological constant, and show that the conical singularities in the metric only disappear when it reduces to the Reissner-Nordström de Sitter metric. We construct an instanton describing the pair production of extreme black holes and an instanton describing the pair production of non-extreme black holes from the Reissner-Nordström de Sitter metric, and calculate their actions. There are a number of striking similarities between these instantons and the…
Application of the adS/CFT correspondence to the RS models may predict that there is no static solution for black holes with a radius larger than the bulk curvature scale. When the black hole has an extremal horizon, however, the correspondence suggests that the black hole can stay static. We focus on the effects of cosmological constant on the brane on such extremal brane-localized black holes. We observe that the positive cosmological constant restrict the black hole size on the brane as in ordinary four-dimensional general relativity. The maximum black hole size differs from that in four-di…
On the basis of the relativistic kinetic theory the mathematical model of cosmological plasmas with an attraction of the like charged scalar particles is formulated. It is shown, that cosmological the model, based on a classical scalar field with an attraction, is unsatisfactory, that leads to necessity of attraction of phantom models of a scalar field for systems with an attraction.
We examine charged slowly rotating perfect fluids in the presence of a cosmological constant. The asymptotic form of the vacuum solutions to the linearised Einstein-Maxwell field equations is found and the possibility of matching this vacuum to the slow rotating García metric is considered. We show that, contrary to the case of zero cosmological constant, this García metric can be matched to an asymptotically de Sitter vacuum in the slow rotation limit. We conclude the García metric may potentially be suitable for describing a charged isolated rotating body in a cosmological background.
Recently, a new interesting instability of a charged scalar field in the Reissner-Nordström-de Sitter background has been found (arXiv:1405.4931v2) through the time-domain integration of the perturbation equation. We investigate further properties of this instability, confirm its existence by concordant frequency-domain and time-domain calculations and show that it occurs at however small value of the coupling eQ, where e and Q are charges of a scalar field and black hole respectively. We also investigate the parametric region of instability and show that the critical values of eQ at which the…
We consider the static and spherically symmetric field equations of general relativity for charged perfect fluid spheres in the presence of a cosmological constant. Following work by Florides (1983) we find new exact solutions of the field equations, and discuss their mass radius ratios. These solutions, for instance, require the charged Nariai metric to be the vacuum part of the spacetime. We also find charged generalizations of the Einstein static universe and speculate that the smallness problem of the cosmological constant might become less problematic if charge is taken into account.
We show the index 0 Fredholm property of the spectral family of the azimuthal harmonics of the charged Klein-Gordon operator on general cosmological slowly accelerating and rotating charged black hole type spacetimes, including the De Sitter-Kerr-Newman family, using a parametrix construction for abstract totally characteristic operators. We then present a numerical scheme to compute the meromorphic poles of the inverse of the spectral family and provide an explicit estimate of the numerical error.
A mathematical model of the evolution of plane perturbations in the cosmological statistical system of completely degenerated scalar-charged fermions with the Higgs scalar interaction is formulated. A complete closed system of differential equations describing the unperturbed state of a homogeneous and isotropic system and a system of self-consistent equations describing the evolution of small perturbations are constructed.
A mathematical model is formulated for the evolution of plane perturbations in a cosmological two-component statistical system of completely degenerate scalarly charged fermions with an asymmetric scalar Higgs interaction. A complete closed system of differential equations describing the unperturbed state of a homogeneous and isotropic system and a system of self-consistent evolution equations of small perturbations are constructed.
In this work we study the boson stars and boson shells in a theory involving massive complex scalar fields coupled to the U(1) gauge field and gravity in a conical potential in the presence of a cosmological constant $Λ$ which we treat as a free parameter taking positive and negative values and thereby allowing us to study the theory in the de Sitter and Anti de Sitter spaces respectively. Boson stars are found to come in two types, having either ball-like or shell-like charge density. We have studied the properties of these solutions and have also determined their domains of existence for som…
We consider the problem of constructing cosmological solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations that contain multiple charged black holes. By considering the field equations as a set of constraint and evolution equations, we construct exact initial data for N charged black holes on a hypersphere. This corresponds to the maximum of expansion of a cosmological solution, and provides sufficient information for a unique evolution. We then consider the specific example of a universe that contains eight charged black holes, and show that the existence of non-zero electric charge reduces the scale o…
The cosmological black holes are black holes living not in an asymptotically flat universe but in an expanding spacetime. They have a rich dynamics in particular for their mass and horizon. In this article we perform a natural step in investigating this new type of black hole: we consider the possibility of a \textit{charged} cosmological black hole. We derive the general equations of motion governing its dynamics and report a new analytic solution for the special case of the charged Lemaître-Tolman-Bondi equations of motion that describe a charged cosmological black hole. We then study variou…
In the paper we consider the macroscopic model of plasma of scalar charged particles, obtained by means of the statistical averaging of the microscopic equations of particle dynamics in a scalar field. On the basis of kinetic equations, obtained from averaging, and their strict integral consequences, a self-consistent set of equations is formulated which describes the self-gravitating plasma of scalar charged particles. It was obtained the corresponding closed cosmological model which also was numerically simulated for the case of one-component degenerated Fermi gas and two-component Boltzmann…
We construct new charged solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell field equations with cosmological constant. These solutions describe the nut-charged generalisation of the higher dimensional Reissner-Nordström spacetimes. For a negative cosmological constant these solutions are the charged generalizations of the topological nut-charged black hole solutions in higher dimensions. Finally, we discuss the global structure of such solutions and possible applications.
In this paper, we investigate the pair creation of charged and rotating black hole pairs in a background with a positive cosmological constant. Instantons to describe this situation are constructed from the Kerr-Newmann deSitter solutions to the Einstein-Maxwell equations and the actions of these instantons are calculated in order to estimate pair creation rates and the entropy of the created spacetimes.
This paper deals with the semiclassical radiation spectrum of static and circularly symmetric 3D charged dilaton black holes with cosmological constant Λ in non-asymptotically flat spacetimes. We first review the 3D charged dilaton black holes which are solution to low-energy string action. The wave equation of a massless scalar field is shown to be exactly solvable in terms of hypergeometric functions. Thus, the radiation spectrum and its corresponding temperature are obtained, precisely. Computations at high frequency regime show that the radiation spectrum yields the Hawking temperature of …
Based on the mathematical model of a statistical system with scalar interaction of fermions formulated earlier, a cosmological model based on a two-component statistical system of scalar charged degenerate fermions interacting with an asymmetric scalar doublet, canonical and phantom scalar fields, is investigated. The asymptotic and limiting properties of the cosmological model are investigated, and it is shown that among all models there is a class of models with a finite lifetime. The asymptotic behavior of models near the corresponding singularities is investigated and numerical implementat…
It is well known through the work of Majumdar, Papapetrou, Hartle, and Hawking that the coupled Einstein and Maxwell equations admit a static multiple blackhole solution representing a balanced equilibrium state of finitely many point charges. This is a result of the exact cancellation of gravitational attraction and electric repulsion under an explicit condition on the mass and charge ratio. The resulting system of particles, known as an extremely charged dust, gives rise to examples of spacetimes with naked singularities. In this paper, we consider the continuous limit of the Majumdar--Papap…
We present arguments for the existence of charged, rotating black holes in $d=2N+1$ dimensions, with $d\geq 5$ with a positive cosmological constant. These solutions posses both, a regular horizon and a cosmological horizon of spherical topology and have $N$ equal-magnitude angular momenta. They approach asymptotically the de Sitter spacetime background. The counterpart equations for $d=2N+2$ are investigated, by assuming that the fields are independant of the extra dimension $y$, leading to black strings solutions. These solutions are regular at the event horizon. The asymptotic form of the m…
Based on the previously formulated mathematical model of a statistical system with scalar interaction of fermions, a cosmological model based on a one-component statistical system of doubly scalar charged degenerate fermions interacting with an asymmetric scalar doublet-canonical and phantom scalar fields-is studied. The connection of the presented model with previously studied models based on one-component and two-component fermion systems is investigated. The asymptotic and limiting properties of the cosmological model are investigated, it is shown that among all models there is a class of m…
A spherically symmetric charged ideal fluid solution of Einstein field equation is given in the presence of the cosmological constant and two well known example of this type of solution is presented. If the matter is confined in a region, the exterior spacetime is considered as RN-de Sitter (Reissner-Nordstrom de Sitter) and to complete solution matching conditions are examined. We show that the function which is related to the dynamics of the system will determine the fate of the system: expansion, contraction or bouncing situations may occur for different configurations. The initial conditio…
On the basis of the general relativistic statistical and kinetic theory, a consistent closed cosmological model is formulated. It is based on a statistical system of scalar charged fermions interacting by means of classical and phantom scalar fields. Based on the study of the microscopic dynamics of scalar charged particles, within the framework of the Lagrangian as well as Hamiltonian formalism, a function of the dynamic mass of scalar charged particles was constructed and it was shown that for the consistency of the theory, it is necessary to remove the nonnegativity condition for this funct…
Static spherically symmetric anisotropic source has been studied for the Einstein-Maxwell field equations assuming the erstwhile cosmological constant $ Λ$ to be a space-variable scalar, viz., $ Λ= Λ(r) $. Two cases have been examined out of which one reduces to isotropic sphere. The solutions thus obtained are shown to be electromagnetic in origin as a particular case. It is also shown that the generally used pure charge condition, viz., $ ρ+ p_r = 0 $ is not always required for constructing electromagnetic mass models.
We consider rotating black hole solutions in five-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory with a negative cosmological constant and a generic value of the Chern-Simons coupling constant $λ$. Using both analytical and numerical techniques, we focus on cohomogeneity-1 configurations, with two equal-magnitude angular momenta, which approach at infinity a globally AdS background. We find that the generic solutions share a number of basic properties with the known Cvetic, Lü and Pope black holes which have $λ=1$. New features occur as well, for example, when the Chern-Simons coupling const…
In this paper,we discuss optical properties of the nonlinear magnetic charged black hole surrounded by quintessence with a non-zero cosmological constant $Λ$. Setting the state parameter $ω=-3/2$ , we studied the horizon, the photon region and the shadow of this black hole. It turned out that for a fixed quintessential parameter $γ$, in a certain range, with the increase of the rotation parameter $a$ and magnetic charge $Q$, the inner horizon radius increases while the outer horizon radius decreases. And the cosmological horizon $r_Λ$ decrease when $γ$ or $Λ$ incease and increase slightly with…
We obtain charged rotating black hole solutions to the theory of Einstein-Maxwell gravity with cosmological constant in five dimensions. Some of the physical properties of these black holes are discussed.
A mathematical model of the evolution of plane perturbations in the cosmological statistical system of completely degenerate scalar-charged fermions with Higgs scalar interaction for short-wave perturbations is formulated. These disturbance modes have been found and investigated. It is shown that in such a model an additional oscillation mode arises, which is associated directly with degenerate fermions, in which monotonically decreasing and increasing perturbations of the metric exist. In this case, there is such a time instant in the system that the potential of the scalar field, together wi…
We consider the equation of motion of a charged particle or a charged compact object in curved space-time, under the reaction of electromagnetic radiation and also consider a physical situation such that the charged particle or compact object emits gravitational radiation, thereby gravitational radiation reaction also acts on it. We investigate the effect of this metric perturbation i.e. the gravitational radiation on the electromagnetic self-force. We show that, besides the interaction terms derived by P. Zimmerman and E. Poisson (Phys. Rev. D 90, 084030, 2014), additional perturbative terms …
Janis-Newman-Winicour (JNW) spacetimes generalize the Schwarzschild solution to include a massless scalar field. Although suffering from naked singularities, they share the `frozen star' features of Schwarzschild black holes. Cosmological versions of the JNW spacetimes were discovered some time ago by Husain, Martinez and Nunez and by Fonarev. Unlike Schwarzschild-deSitter black holes, these solutions are dynamical, and the scarcity of exact solutions for dynamical black holes in cosmological backgrounds motivates their further study. Here we show how the cosmological JNW spacetimes can be bui…
We present the extension of the method of imbedding a mass into cosmology proposed by Gautreau, for the case of a Reissner-Nordström charged mass. We work in curvature coordinates $(R,T)$ where the coordinate time $T$ is measured by clocks at fixed points $R = $ const., and geodesic coordinates $(R,τ)$ where $τ$ is the time recorded by clocks moving along the radial geodesics. The Einstein equations are solved for a energy-momentum tensor which is composed of a cosmological fluid and an electrostatic field outside a radius $R_{b}$. Inside $R_{b}$ we have a part of cosmological fluid plus a Rei…
We present a generalisation of the charged C-metric conformally coupled with a scalar field in the presence of a cosmological constant. The solution is asymptotically flat or a constant curvature spacetime. The spacetime metric has the geometry of a usual charged C-metric with cosmological constant, where the mass and charge are equal. When the cosmological constant is absent it is found that the scalar field only blows up at the angular pole of the event horizon. The presence of the cosmological constant can generically render the scalar field regular where the metric is regular, pushing the …
Einstein-Maxwell equations with a cosmological constant are analyzed in a four dimensional stationary spacetime admitting in addition a two dimensional group $G_2$ of spatial isometries. Charged rotating open and closed black string solutions are found.
In this paper, we investigate the massless Reissner-Nordstrom de Sitter metric in the context of minimal length scenarios. We prove not only the confinement of the energy density of massless charged particles, both fermions and bosons, but also their ability to tunnel through the cosmological horizon. These massless particles might be interacting with Dirac sea and in this case they will appear outside the cosmological horizon in the context of dS/CFT holography. This result may formulate a fundamental reason for the expansion of the Dirac sea. Therefore, a spacetime Big Crunch may occur.
By using a new approach, we demonstrate analytic expressions for slowly rotating Gauss-Bonnet charged black holes with negative cosmological constant. Up to the linear order of the rotating parameter a, the mass, Hawking temperature and entropy of the charged black holes get no corrections from rotation.
We study the creation of a black hole (BH) pair separated by a domain wall, in the presence of a cosmological constant. We construct the solution representing a BH pair with a domain wall and compute the Euclidean action to evaluate the probability of the pair creation in the background with a preexisting domain wall. The BHs can be either neutral or magnetically charged ones. We compare the results of the charged case with those of the neutral case with the same cosmological constant. We find that the production rate of a charged BH pair is always suppressed in comparison with that of the neu…
We consider charged spherically symmetric static solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations with a positive cosmological constant $Λ$. If $r$ denotes the area radius, $m_g$ and $q$ the gravitational mass and charge of a sphere with area radius $r$ respectively, we find that for any solution which satisfies the condition $p+2p_{\perp}\leq ρ,$ where $p\geq 0$ and $p_{\perp}$ are the radial and tangential pressures respectively, $ρ\geq 0$ is the energy density, and for which $0\leq \frac{q^2}{r^2}+Λr^2\leq 1,$ the inequality $\frac{m_g}{r} \leq 2/9+\frac{q^2}{3r^2}-\frac{Λr^2}{3}+2/9\sqrt{1+\fra…
We investigate the general process of black hole pair creation in a cosmological background, considering the creation of charged and rotating black holes. We motivate the use of Kerr-Newmann-deSitter solutions to investigate this process, showing how they arise from more general C-metric type solutions that describe a pair of general black holes accelerating away from each other in a cosmological background. All possible KNdS-type spacetimes are classified and we examine whether they may be considered to be in full thermodynamic equilibrium. Instantons that mediate the creation of these space-…
It is shown that the Born--Infeld nonlinear electrodynamics with a polynomial type nonlinearity accommodates finite-energy electric point charges but rejects finite-energy magnetic point charges, or monopoles, thereby spelling out an electromagnetic asymmetry. Moreover, it is demonstrated, in a systematic way, that the curvature singularities of finite-energy charged black holes in the context of the Born--Infeld theory may effectively be relegated or in some cases removed under a critical mass-energy condition, which has been employed successfully in earlier concrete studies. Furthermore, it …
We first obtain the $D$-dimensional asymptotically AdS charged black hole solution in general nonlinear electrodynamics (NLED). We then use the Hamilton-Jacobi method to describe the motion in curved spacetime of a scalar particle and a fermion, which, as we show, satisfy the same Hamilton-Jacobi equation. With absorbing a charged particle, the variation of the generic charged NLED black hole is calculated in the normal and extended phase spaces. In the normal phase space, where the cosmological constant and dimensionful parameters in NLED are fixed, the first and second laws of thermodynamics…
We obtain a charged black lens solution in the five-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory with a positive cosmological constant. It is shown that the solution obtained here describes the formation of a black hole with the spatial cross section of a sphere from that of the lens space of L(n,1) in five-dimensional de Sitter space.
A family of solutions with mass and electric charge of five-dimensional Chern-Simons supergravity is displayed. The action contains an extra term that changes the value of the cosmological constant, as considered by Horava. It is shown that the solutions approach asymptotically the Reissner-Nordstrom spacetime. The role of the torsion tensor in providing charged solutions is stressed.
Motivated by the wide applications of thermal stability and phase transition, we investigate thermodynamic properties of charged BTZ black holes. We apply the standard method to calculate the heat capacity and the Hessian matrix and find that thermal stability of charged BTZ solutions depends on the choice of ensemble. To overcome this problem, we take into account cosmological constant as a thermodynamical variable. By this modification, we show that the ensemble dependency is eliminated and thermal stability conditions are the same in both ensembles. Then, we generalize our solutions to the …
The motion of a point charged particle moving in the background of the critical power Maxwell charged AdS black holes, in a probe approximation is studied. The extended phase space, where the cosmological constant appears as a pressure, is regarded and the effective potential is investigated. At last, the mass-to-charge ratio and the large q limit are studied.
We present numerical evidences for the existence of rotating black hole solutions in d-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell theory with a cosmological constant and for $d$ odd. The metric used possesses $(d+1)/2$ Killing vectors and the solutions have $(d-1)/2$ equal angular momenta. A Schwarschild-type coordinate is used for the radial variable and both signs of the cosmological constant are emphasized. Several properties of the solutions are studied, namely their surface gravity, mass and angular momentum as functions of two parameters: the magnetic field and the angular velocity at the horizon. The…
Based on the previously formulated mathematical model of a statistical system with scalar interaction of fermions and the theory of gravitational-scalar instability of a cosmological model based on a two-component statistical system of scalar-charged degenerate fermions, a numerical model of the cosmological evolution of gravitational-scalar perturbations is constructed and specific examples of the development of instability are given. Some features of the instability's development are investigated depending on the nature of the behavior of the unperturbed cosmological model. It is shown that …
For charged black holes in Horava-Lifshitz gravity, a second order phase transition takes place in extended phase space where the cosmological constant is taken as thermodynamic pressure. We relate the second order nature of phase transition to the fact that the phase transition occurs at a sharp temperature and not over a temperature interval. Once we know the continuity of the first derivatives of the Gibbs free energy, we show that all the Ehrenfest equations are readily satisfied. We study the effect of the perturbation of the cosmological constant as well as the perturbation of the electr…
