The production rates and the transverse momentum distribution of strange hadrons at mid-rapidity ($\ |y\ | < 0.5$) are measured in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV as a function of the charged particle multiplicity, using the ALICE detector at the LHC. The production rates of $\rm{K}^{0}_{S}$, $Λ$, $Ξ$, and $Ω$ increase with the multiplicity faster than what is reported for inclusive charged particles. The increase is found to be more pronounced for hadrons with a larger strangeness content. Possible auto-correlations between the charged particles and the strange hadrons are evaluated by measuring the event-activity with charged particle multiplicity estimators covering different pseudorapidity regions. When comparing to lower energy results, the yields of strange hadrons are found to depend only on the mid-rapidity charged particle multiplicity. Several features of the data are reproduced qualitatively by general purpose QCD Monte Carlo models that take into account the effect of densely-packed QCD strings in high multiplicity collisions. However, none of the tested models reproduce the data quantitatively. This work corroborates and extends the ALICE findings on strangeness production in proton-proton collisions at 7 TeV.
One of the key results of the LHC Run 1 was the observation of an enhanced production of strange particles in high multiplicity pp and p--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ = 7 and 5.02 TeV, respectively. The strangeness enhancement is investigated by measuring the evolution with multiplicity of single-strange and multi-strange baryon production relative to non-strange particles. A smooth increase of strange particle yields relative to the non-strange ones with event multiplicity has been observed in such systems. We report the latest results on multiplicity dependence of strange and mult…
The ALICE experiment has studied strangeness production in different collision systems (pp, p-Pb, Xe-Xe and Pb-Pb) and energies. The ratio of the strange particle yield to pion yield as a function of multiplicity for different collision energies and systems follow a continuously increasing trend ("enhancement") from low multiplicity pp to high-multiplicity Pb-Pb collisions, independent of the initial collision energy and colliding particles. It is also observed that the enhancement is larger for the particles with larger strangeness content. Several other features that were observed in large c…
At sufficiently high temperature and energy density, nuclear matter undergoes a transition to a phase in which quarks and gluons are not confined: the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) [1]. Such an extreme state of strongly-interacting QCD (Quantum Chromo-Dynamics) matter is produced in the laboratory with high-energy collisions of heavy nuclei, where an enhanced production of strange hadrons is observed [2-6]. Strangeness enhancement, originally proposed as a signature of QGP formation in nuclear collisions [7], is more pronounced for multi-strange baryons. Several effects typical of heavy-ion phenome…
Recent measurements performed in high-multiplicity proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions have shown features that are reminiscent of those observed in lead-lead (Pb-Pb) collisions. These observations warrant a comprehensive measurement of the production of identified particles. We report on the production of \allparts at mid-rapidity measured as a function of multiplicity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV with the ALICE experiment. Spectral shapes studied both for individual particles and via particle ratios such as ($Λ/K^{0}_{S}$) as a function of $p_{T}$ exhibit an evolut…
Measurements of strange hadron (K0s, Lambda + anti-Lambda, and Xi+ + Xi-) transverse momentum spectra in pp, pPb, and PbPb collisions are presented over a wide range of rapidity and event charged-particle multiplicity. The data were collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV, pPb collisions at sqrt(s[NN]) = 5.02 TeV, and PbPb collisions at sqrt(s[NN]) = 2.76 TeV. The average transverse kinetic energy is found to increase with multiplicity, at a faster rate for heavier strange particle species in all systems. At similar multiplicities, the difference in …
The transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) spectra in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV, measured by the ALICE experiment at the LHC are analyzed with a thermodynamically consistent Tsallis distribution. The information about the freeze-out surface in terms of freeze-out volume, temperature and the non-extenisivity parameter, $q$, for $K^{0}_{S}$, $Λ+\barΛ$, $Ξ^{-}+\barΞ^{+}$ and $Ω^{-}+\barΩ^{+}$ are extracted by fitting the $p_{\rm T}$ spectra with Tsallis distribution function. The freeze-out parameters of these particles are studied as a function of charged particle multiplicity de…
The elliptic azimuthal anisotropy coefficient ($v_2$) is measured for charm (D$^0$) and strange (K$_\mathrm{S}^0$, $Λ$, $Ξ^-$, and $Ω^-$) hadrons, using a data sample of pPb collisions collected by the CMS experiment, at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_{_\mathrm{NN}}} =$ 8.16 TeV. A significant positive $v_2$ signal from long-range azimuthal correlations is observed for all particle species in high-multiplicity pPb collisions. The measurement represents the first observation of possible long-range collectivity for open heavy flavor hadrons in small systems. The results suggest…
In this contribution, the production rates and the transverse momentum distributions of strange hadrons are reported as a function of charged particle multiplicity. In this analysis, the data collected in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC are used. It is found that the production rate of $K_{S}^{0}$, $Λ$, $Ξ^{\pm}$, and $Ω$ increases with multiplicity faster than that for charged particles. The higher the strangeness content of the hadron, the more pronounced is the increase. Moreover, the energy and multiplicity dependence of charged particle p…
The increase of strange-particle yields relative to pions versus charged-particle multiplicity in proton-proton (pp) collisions at the LHC is usually described by microscopic or hydrodynamical models as a result of the increasing density of produced partons or strings and their interactions. Instead, we consider the multiple partonic interaction (MPI) picture originally developed in the context of the PYTHIA event generator. We find that strangeness enhancement in PYTHIA is hidden by a large excess of low-$p_{\rm T}$ multi-strange baryons, which mainly results from the hadronization of $u$-qua…
The self-normalised $ψ(2S)$ yields as a function of charged-particle multiplicity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV and p--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}$= 8.16 TeV, using the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC, are reported in these proceedings. This measurement represents one of the main tools to understand the role of multiparton interactions and their influence on charmonium production in small systems, i.e pp and pA collisions. The ratio of $ψ(2S)$-over-J/$ψ$ as a function of charged-particle multiplicity is also presented for both pp and p--Pb collisions. The comparison to th…
Measurements of jet production and jet properties in pp collisions provide a test of perturbative quantum chromodynamics (pQCD) and form a baseline for similar measurements in heavy ion (A--A) collisions. In this contribution, we report recent ALICE measurements of charged-particle jet production and intra-jet properties, including mean charged-constituent multiplicity and fragmentation distribution for leading jets, in minimum bias pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13\,$TeV. In addition, the event multiplicity dependence of jet production and jet properties in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13\,$TeV…
The relative J/$ψ$ yields as a function of relative charged-particle multiplicity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 5.02 TeV, measured at forward rapidity, are investigated for the first time. A linear increase of the relative J/$ψ$ yield with respect to multiplicity is observed. A comparison of the findings of the present work with the available ALICE measurements obtained in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV at forward and mid-rapidity indicates that the increase of J/$ψ$ with multiplicity is independent of energy but exhibits a strong dependence on the rapidity gap between the J/$ψ$ and m…
The study of identified particle production in proton-proton (pp) collisions as a function of center-of-mass energy ($\sqrt{s}$) and event charged-particle multiplicity is a key tool for understanding similarities and differences between small and large collision systems. We report on new measurements of the production of identified particles and their dependence on multiplicity and $\sqrt{s}$. Latest results for light flavor hadrons, comprising $π^{\pm}$, $\mathrm{K}^{\pm}$, ${\rm p}(\rm \bar{p})$, single-strange ($\mathrm{K_{S}^{0}}$, $\barΛ$, and $Λ$), multi-strange ($Ξ^{-}$, $\overlineΞ^{+…
The ALICE Collaboration reports a search for jet quenching effects in pp collisions at $\sqrt{\mathrm{s}}$=13 TeV, in events selected on high multiplicity compared to the minimum bias population. The measurement is based on the semi-inclusive acoplanarity distribution of jets recoiling from a high-$p_\mathrm{T}$ trigger hadron. Significant broadening of the recoil jet acoplanarity distribution is observed in high multiplicity pp collisions, in both data and in simulations based on the PYTHIA model. Analysis is ongoing to elucidate the origin of this effect.
We present the charged-particle multiplicity distributions over a wide pseudorapidity range ($-3.4<η<5.0$) for pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 0.9, 7, and 8 TeV at the LHC. Results are based on information from the Silicon Pixel Detector and the Forward Multiplicity Detector of ALICE, extending the pseudorapidity coverage of the earlier publications and the high-multiplicity reach. The measurements are compared to results from the CMS experiment and to PYTHIA, PHOJET and EPOS LHC event generators, as well as IP-Glasma calculations.
The study of energy and multiplicity dependence of strange hadron production in proton-proton collisions provides a powerful tool to understand similarities and differences between small and large collision systems. In order to better understand the origin of strangeness enhancement in pp new multi-differential analyses have been performed. The first separates the contribution of soft and hard processes, such as jets, to strange hadron production through two-particle correlation techniques. The second exploits the concept of the effective energy available for particle production in the event, …
The main goal of the ALICE experiment is to study the physics of strongly interacting matter, focusing on the properties of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP). The relative production of strange hadrons with respect to non-strange hadrons in heavy-ion collisions was historically considered as one of the signatures of QGP formation. However, the latest results in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions have revealed an increasing trend in the yield ratio of strange hadrons to pions with the charged-particle multiplicity in the event, showing a smooth evolution across different collision …
We present an analysis of data on light flavour hadron production as function of event multiplicity at LHC energies measured by the ALICE collaboration. The strangeness-canonical approach within the framework of the THERMUS statistical hadronisation model is used for a simultaneous description of pp, p-Pb, and Pb-Pb collisions. The rapidity window dependence of the strangeness correlation volume is addressed and a value of $Δy = 1.33 \pm 0.28$ is found. With the exception of the $ϕ$-meson, an excellent description of the experimental data is found.
We present ALICE results on strange and multi-strange hadron production as a function of centrality in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 2.76 TeV at the LHC. Their transverse momentum spectra, yields and particle ratios are compared to the corresponding measurements in pp collisions to address strangeness enhancement and high $p_{\rm T}$ particle suppression. The results are also compared to measurements at RHIC and SPS energies.
Heavy quarks (charm and beauty) are produced in hard-scattering processes and the study of their production in proton--proton (pp) collisions is an important test for calculations based on perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics (pQCD). Heavy-flavor production as a function of charged-particle multiplicity provides insight into the processes occurring at the partonic level and the interplay between the hard and soft particle production mechanisms in pp collisions. In this contribution, measurements of open heavy-flavor production as a function of multiplicity, via the study of the $\mathrm{D}$-mes…
The production of $Ξ^{-}$ and $Ω^{-}$ baryons and their anti-particles in Pb-Pb and pp collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV has been measured by the ALICE collaboration. The transverse momentum spectra at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.5) in pp and Pb-Pb collisions for five centrality intervals have been compared with model predictions. Hyperon yields and spectra in Pb-Pb collisions, normalized to the corresponding measurements in pp at the same centre-of-mass energy, allow the study of the strangeness enhancement and the nuclear modification factor as a function of the transverse momentum ($p_{T}$…
Azimuthal correlation studies of heavy-flavour particles with charged particles in p--Pb collisions can give an insight into the cold nuclear matter effects \cite{Andronic:2015wma} on heavy-quark production and hadronization into heavy-flavour jets. Multiplicity-dependent measurements of angular correlations of heavy-flavour particles with charged hadrons allow us to investigate the collective behavior of the system and the initial state effects on heavy flavour hadron production. In addition, they can reveal possible modifications of the heavy-quark fragmentation and hadronization at differen…
Multiplicity and event-scale dependent flow and jet fragmentation in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV and in p$-$Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV
本研究通过双粒子角关联测量13 TeV pp碰撞与5.02 TeV p−Pb碰撞的长程流系数,用低多重数模板法扣除喷注碎裂贡献,发现流信号随多重数降低而减弱,含硬探针事件的流系数无显著变化,指出需改进初始条件以匹配流体模型。
This article summarizes and critically reviews measurements of charged-particle multiplicity distributions and pseudorapidity densities in p+p(pbar) collisions between sqrt(s) = 23.6 GeV and sqrt(s) = 1.8 TeV. Related theoretical concepts are briefly introduced. Moments of multiplicity distributions are presented as a function of sqrt(s). Feynman scaling, KNO scaling, as well as the description of multiplicity distributions with a single negative binomial distribution and with combinations of two or more negative binomial distributions are discussed. Moreover, similarities between the energy d…
The ALICE experiment studies Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC in order to investigate the properties of the hot and dense QCD matter at extreme energy densities. Recent results from ALICE in identified particle flow allow for the exploration of the collective properties of the medium created in heavy-ion collisions. In this paper, I give special attention to strange and charm particles which probe the medium differently and thus provide new constraints for the study of its properties. The paper covers results on elliptic flow for pion, kaon, kzero, antiproton, phi, lambda, xi, omega, dplus, dzero a…
In pp collisions at LHC energies, heavy quarks are produced in initial hard scatterings and then these quarks hadronize in either open heavy-flavor hadrons or quarkonia (e.g. J/$ψ$, $ψ(2S)$, $Υ$). The study of quarkonium production as a function of charged-particle multiplicity links soft and hard processes and allows one to study their interplay. While a linear increase of quarkonium production as a function of charged-particle multiplicity can be reasonably well understood in the context of multi-parton interactions, the observation of deviations with respect to a linear increase requires a …
The measurement of prompt D-meson production as a function of multiplicity in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=5.02$ TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC is reported. D$^0$, D$^+$ and D$^{*+}$ mesons are reconstructed via their hadronic decay channels in the centre-of-mass rapidity range $-0.96< y_{\mathrm{cms}}<0.04$ and transverse momentum interval $1<p_{\rm T}<24$ GeV/$c$. The multiplicity dependence of D-meson production is examined by either comparing yields in p-Pb collisions in different event classes, selected based on the multiplicity of produced particles or zero-degree energy…
Measurements of event-by-event fluctuations of charged-particle multiplicities in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV using the ALICE detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are presented in the pseudorapidity range $|η|<0.8$ and transverse momentum $0.2 < p_{\rm T} < 2.0$ GeV/$c$. The amplitude of the fluctuations is expressed in terms of the variance normalized by the mean of the multiplicity distribution. The $η$ and $p_{\rm T}$ dependences of the fluctuations and their evolution with respect to collision centrality are investigated. The multiplicity fluctuations ten…
Multi-strange baryons are of particular interest in the understanding of particle production mechanisms, as their high strangeness content makes them susceptible to changes in the hadrochemistry of the colliding systems. In ALICE, these hyperons are reconstructed via the detection of their weak decay products, which are identified through their measured ionisation losses and momenta in the Time Projection Chamber. The production rates of charged $Ξ$ and $Ω$ baryons in proton-proton (pp), proton-lead (p-Pb) and lead-lead (Pb-Pb) collisions are reported as a function of $p_{\mathrm{T}}$. A direc…
The production of J/$ψ$ is measured as a function of charged-particle multiplicity at forward rapidity in proton$-$proton (pp) collisions at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s} =$ 5.02 and 13 TeV. The J/$ψ$ mesons are reconstructed via their decay into dimuons in the rapidity interval (2.5 $< y <$ 4.0), whereas the charged-particle multiplicity density (${\rm d}N_{\rm{ch}}/{\rm d}η$) is measured at midrapidity $(|η| < 1)$. The production rate as a function of multiplicity is reported as the ratio of the yield in a given multiplicity interval to the multiplicity-integrated one. This observable sh…
In this contribution, the production of heavy-flavor hadrons as a function of multiplicity, via the study of the D-meson and heavy-flavor hadron decay leptons self-normalized yields in pp collisions at the center of mass energy $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV is discussed. Comparisons are made with similar measurements of J/$ψ$ at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV and various model calculations. The $\mathrm{Λ_{c}^{+}/D^{0}}$ and $\mathrm{D^{+}_{s}/D^{0}}$ yield ratios in different multiplicity intervals in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV are also reported. In addition, the ALICE measurement of $\mathrm{Λ_{c}^{+}}…
In this Letter, comprehensive results on ${\rmπ}^\pm$, K$^\pm$, K$^0_S$, p, $\rm\bar{p}$, $\rm Λ$ and $\rm \barΛ$ production at mid-rapidity ($0 < y_{\rm cms} < 0.5$) in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV, measured by the ALICE detector at the LHC, are reported. The transverse momentum distributions exhibit a hardening as a function of event multiplicity, which is stronger for heavier particles. This behavior is similar to what has been observed in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC. The measured $p_{\rm T}$ distributions are compared to results at lower energy and with predicti…
This paper presents the measurements of $π^{\pm}$, $\rm{K}^{\pm}$, $\rm{p}$ and $\bar{\rm{p}}$ transverse momentum ($p_{\rm{T}}$) spectra as a function of charged-particle multiplicity density in proton-proton (pp) collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. Such study allows us to isolate the center-of-mass energy dependence of light-flavour particle production. The measurements reported here cover a $p_{\rm{T}}$ range from 0.1 GeV/$c$ to 20 GeV/$c$ and are done in the rapidity interval $|y|<0.5$. The $p_{\rm{T}}$-differential particle ratios exhibit an evolution wit…
The production of heavy quarks in pp collisions at the LHC energies provides a reliable test of perturbative QCD calculations. Comparisons of pp and $\pPb$ measurements of their hadronization products allow us to investigate how cold nuclear matter effects affect the heavy-quark production. We present ALICE measurements of azimuthal correlations of prompt D mesons with charged hadrons in pp collisions at $\s$ = 7 TeV and $\pPb$ collisions at $\sNN$ = 5.02 TeV. We also show the per-event D-meson yields as a function of the charged-particle multiplicity in pp collisions at $\s$ = 7 TeV.
Measurements of identified hadrons as a function of the charged-particle multiplicity in pp collisions enable a search for the onset of collective effects in small collision systems. With such measurements, it is possible to study the mechanisms that determine the shapes of hadron transverse momentum ($p_{\rm{T}}$) spectra, to search for possible modifications of the yields of short-lived hadronic resonances due to scattering effects in the hadron-gas phase, and to investigate different explanations for the multiplicity evolution of strangeness production provided by phenomenological models. I…
Prompt D meson and non-prompt J/$ψ$ yields are studied as a function of the multiplicity of charged particles produced in inelastic proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV. The results are reported as a ratio between yields in a given multiplicity interval normalised to the multiplicity-integrated ones (relative yields). They are shown as a function of the multiplicity of charged particles normalised to the average value for inelastic collisions (relative charged-particle multiplicity). D$^0$, D$^+$ and D$^{*+}$ mesons are measured in five $p_{\rm T}$ intervals …
The production of prompt $D^{0}$, $D^{+}_{\rm s}$, and $Λ_{\rm c}^{+}$ hadrons, and their ratios, $D^{+}_{\rm s}$/$D^{0}$ and $Λ_{\rm c}^{+}$/$D^{0}$, are measured in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV at midrapidity ($|y| <0.5$) with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The measurements are performed as a function of the charm-hadron transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) in intervals of charged-particle multiplicity, measured with two multiplicity estimators covering different pseudorapidity regions. While the strange to non-strange $D^{+}_{\rm s}$/$D^{0}$ ratio indicates no significant mu…
We present a study of the inclusive charged-particle transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) spectra as a function of charged-particle multiplicity density at mid-pseudorapidity, ${\rm d}N_{\rm ch}/{\rm d}η$, in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 5.02 and 13 TeV covering the kinematic range $|η|<0.8$ and $0.15<p_{\rm{T}}<20$ GeV/$c$. The results are presented for events with at least one charged particle in $|η|<1$ (INEL$ >0$). The $p_{\rm T}$ spectra are reported for two multiplicity estimators covering different pseudorapidity regions. The $p_{\rm T}$ spectra normalized to that for INEL $>0$ show littl…
Potential of the charm quark as a probe to study the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) is best harnessed when its production mechanisms are disentangled from its propagation through the QGP. Proton-proton (pp) collisions help us to study charmed hadron production mechanisms. The measurement of D-meson yields in pp collisions as a function of the multiplicity of produced particles allows one to gain some insight into the processes occurring in the collision at a microscopic level. Here, the preliminary results are presented from this measurement at \sqrt{s} = 7 TeV. The analysis strategy, the applied co…
Two-particle angular correlations between unidentified charged trigger and associated particles are measured by the ALICE detector in p-Pb collisions at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV. The transverse-momentum range 0.7 $ < p_{\rm{T}, assoc} < p_{\rm{T}, trig} <$ 5.0 GeV/$c$ is examined, to include correlations induced by jets originating from low momen\-tum-transfer scatterings (minijets). The correlations expressed as associated yield per trigger particle are obtained in the pseudorapidity range $|η|<0.9$. The near-side long-range pseudorapidity correlations observed in h…
A Large Ion Collider Experiment (ALICE) is one of the four big experiments installed at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and it is suited to study pp, p--Pb and Pb--Pb collisions. It aims to study the strongly interacting matter at extreme conditions of temperature and density under which the quarks decouple to form a new state of matter called the Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP). Such a state of matter existed a few microseconds after the Big Bang in which the universe was created. Several experimental observables, sensitive to the evolution of the system after the nuclear collisions, reveal imp…
The ALICE experiment at the LHC has measured the production of strange hadrons and resonances in Pb-Pb and pp collisions at unprecedented high beam energies. The study of strange hadrons and resonances helps us to understand the properties of the medium created in the heavy-ion collisions and its evolution. We present the yields ($dN/dy$) at mid-rapidity for strange hadrons ($Λ$, $Ξ^{-}$, $Ω^{-}$, their anti-particles and $K_{S}^{0}$) and resonances ($ϕ$ and $K^{*0}$) for several collision centrality intervals. The results from Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV are presented and c…

In order to avoid auto-correlation biases, the actual transverse momentum ($p_{\rm{T}}$) spectra of the particles under study and the event activity are measured in different rapi…
Measurements of the inclusive J/$ψ$ yield as a function of charged-particle pseudorapidity density ${\rm d}N_{\rm ch}/\rm{d}η$ in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV with ALICE at the LHC are reported. The J/$ψ$ meson yield is measured at midrapidity ($|y|<0.9$) in the dielectron channel, for events selected based on the charged-particle multiplicity at midrapidity ($|η|<1$) and at forward rapidity ($-3.7<η<-1.7$ and $2.8<η<5.1$); both observables are normalized to their corresponding averages in minimum bias events. The increase of the normalized J/$ψ$ yield with normalized ${\rm d}N_{\rm ch…
The multiplicity dependence of electron production from heavy-flavour hadron decays as a function of transverse momentum was measured in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV using the ALICE detector at the LHC. The measurement was performed in the centre-of-mass rapidity interval $-1.07 < y_{\rm cms} < 0.14$ and transverse momentum interval 2 $< p_{\rm T} <$ 16 GeV/$c$. The multiplicity dependence of the production of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays was studied by comparing the $p_{\rm T}$ spectra measured for different multiplicity classes with those measured in pp col…
We investigate the enhancement of yields of strange and multi-strange baryons in proton-proton (p+p), proton-lead (p+Pb) and lead-lead (Pb+Pb) collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies from a dynamical core-corona initialization model. We first generate partons just after the collisions by using event generators. These partons dynamically generate the quark gluon plasma (QGP) fluids through the source terms in the hydrodynamic equations. According to the core-corona picture, this process tends to happen where the density of generated partons is high and their transverse momentum i…
The study of the J/$ψ$ production in pp collisions provides important information on perturbative and non-perturbative quantum chromodynamics. Using high multiplicity pp events, we can study how charmonium production depends on the event activity. These measurements are used to investigate the possible influence of multiple partonic interactions to the J/$ψ$ production and the interplay between soft and hard processes. In this work we report on studies of J/$ψ$ production as a function of event multiplicity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV at mid-rapidity with ALICE. The J/$ψ$ are recons…
