Quantum teleportation allows to transfer unknown quantum states between distant parties. It is not only a primitive of quantum communications but also an essential task in realization of the quantum networks for promising applications such as quantum cryptography and distributed quantum computation. Despite recent substantial progresses in the realization of quantum communications, teleportation of shared quantum information between multiple senders and receivers is still missing. Here we propose and experimentally demonstrate quantum teleportation among spatially separate parties in a quantum network. The protocol can be jointly performed by distributed participants, while none of them can fully access the transferred information. It can be generally extended to quantum communications incorporating an arbitrary number of parties without a trusted central node. Our work opens a route to the realization of distributed quantum communications and computations in quantum networks
Very recently, Lee et al. proposed the first secure quantum teleporation protocol, where quantum information shared by an arbitrary number of senders can be transferred to another arbitrary number of receivers. Here, by introducing quantum walks, a novel secure (n,m) quantum teleportation of shared quantum secret between n senders and $m$ receivers is presented. Firstly, two kinds of (n,2) teleportation schemes are proposed by n-walker quantum walks on the line, the first walker of which is driven by three coins, respectively, based on two kinds of coin operators: the homogeneous coins and the…
Upper bounds for private communication over quantum channels can be derived by adopting channel simulation, protocol stretching, and relative entropy of entanglement. All these ingredients have led to single-letter upper bounds to the secret key capacity which can be directly computed over suitable resource states. For bosonic Gaussian channels, the tightest upper bounds have been derived by employing teleportation simulation over asymptotic resource states, namely the asymptotic Choi matrices of these channels. In this work, we adopt a different approach. We show that teleporting over an anal…
We investigate a quantum repeater scheme for quantum key distribution based on the work by Muralidharan et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 112, 250501 (2014). Our scheme extends that work by making use of error syndrome measurement outcomes available at the repeater stations. We show how to calculate the secret key rates for the case of optimizing the syndrome information, while the known key rate is based on a scenario of coarse-graining the syndrome information. We show that these key rates can surpass the Pirandola-Laurenza-Ottaviani-Banchi bound on secret key rates of direct transmission over lossy …
We prove that the teleportation based quantum cryptography protocol presented in [Opt. Commun. 283, 184 (2010)], which is built using only orthogonal states encoding the classical bits that are teleported from Alice to Bob, is asymptotically secure against all types of individual and collective attacks. We then investigate modifications to that protocol leading to greater secret-key rates and to security against coherent attacks. In other words, we show an unconditional secure quantum key distribution protocol that does not need non-orthogonal quantum states to encode the bits of the secret ke…
In this paper, a bidirectional quantum teleportation protocol based on Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) pairs and entanglement swapping is proposed. In this scheme, two users can simultaneously transmit an unknown single-qubit state to each other. The implementation of the proposed scheme is easier in experiment as compared to previous work. By utilizing this bidirectional quantum teleportation protocol, a bidirectional quantum secure direct communication scheme without carrying secret message is presented. Therefore, in the case of using perfect quantum channel, the protocol is completely secure…
Complete measurements, while providing maximal information gain, results in destruction of the shared entanglement. In the standard teleportation scheme, the sender's measurement on the shared entangled state between the sender and the receiver has that consequence. We propose here a teleportation scheme involving weak measurements which can sustain entanglement upto a certain level so that the reusability of the shared resource state is possible. The measurements are chosen in such a way that it is weak enough to retain entanglement and hence can be reused for quantum tasks, yet adequately st…
A (k,n)-threshold secret-sharing scheme allows for a string to be split into n shares in such a way that any subset of at least k shares suffices to recover the secret string, but such that any subset of at most k-1 shares contains no information about the secret. Quantum secret-sharing schemes extend this idea to the sharing of quantum states. Here we propose a method of performing computation on quantum shared secrets. We introduce a (n,n)-quantum secret sharing scheme together with a set of protocols that allow quantum circuits to be evaluated on the shared secret without the need to decode…
We present a new scheme for teleporting a quantum state between two parties whose local reference frames are misaligned by the action of a finite symmetry group. Unlike other proposals, our scheme requires the same amount of classical communication and entangled resources as conventional teleportation, does not reveal any reference frame information, and is robust against changes in reference frame alignment while the protocol is underway. The mathematical foundation of our scheme is a unitary error basis which is permuted up to a phase by the conjugation action of the group. We completely cla…
The states of W-class as shared resources for perfect teleportation and superdense coding
A. Pati [Phys. Rev. A待出版]。
Quantum secret sharing is a method for sharing a secret quantum state among a number of individuals such that certain authorized subsets of participants can recover the secret shared state by collaboration and other subsets cannot. In this paper, we first propose a method for sharing a quantum secret in a basic $(2,3)$ threshold scheme, only by using qubits and the 7-qubit CSS code. Based on this $(2,3)$ scheme, we propose a new $(n, n)$ scheme and we also construct a quantum secret sharing scheme for any quantum access structure by induction. Secondly, based on the techniques of performing qu…
We propose here a quantum secret sharing scheme that works for both quantum and classical secrets. The proposed scheme is based on both entanglement swapping and teleportation together. It allows sender to encrypt his/her secret and simultaneously distribute decryption information of the encrypted secret among distant parties where decryption shares are nonlocally correlated with each other. Two-fold quantum non-local correlations, generated through entanglement swapping and then teleporting quantum states over swapped maximally entangled pairs, guarantee both authentication and secrecy of the…
Ouyang et al. proposed an $(n,n)$ threshold quantum secret sharing scheme, where the number of participants is limited to $n=4k+1,k\in Z^+$, and the security evaluation of the scheme was carried out accordingly. In this paper, we propose an $(n,n)$ threshold quantum secret sharing scheme for the number of participants $n$ in any case ( $n\in Z^+$ ). The scheme is based on a quantum circuit, which consists of Clifford group gates and Toffoli gate. We study the properties of the quantum circuit in this paper and use the quantum circuit to analyze the security of the scheme for dishonest particip…
We show how adaptive protocols of quantum and private communication through bosonic Gaussian channels can be simplified into much easier block versions that involve resource states with finite energy. This is achieved by combining the adaptive-to-block reduction technique devised earlier [S. Pirandola et al., Nat. Commun. 8, 15043 (2017)], based on teleportation stretching and relative entropy of entanglement, with an alternative simulation of Gaussian channels recently introduced by Liuzzo-Scorpo et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 119, 120503 (2017)]. In this way, we derive weak converse upper bounds f…
In this work, we investigate the controlled teleportation protocol using optical qubits within the single-rail logic. The protocol makes use of an entangled tripartite state shared by the controller and two further parties (users) who will perform standard teleportation. The goal of the protocol is to guarantee that the teleportation is successful only with the permission of the controller. Optical qubits based on either superpositions of vacuum and single-photon states or superposition of coherent states are employed here to encode a tripartite maximal slice state upon which the protocol is b…
In this work, we propose a probabilistic teleportation protocol to teleport a single qubit via three-qubit W-states using two-qubit measurement basis. We show that for the proper choice of the state parameter of the resource state, it is possible to make success probability of the protocol very high. We deduce the condition for the successful execution of our teleportation protocol and this gives us new class of three-qubit W-states which act as a resource state. We have constructed operators that can be used to verify the condition of teleportation in experiment. This verification is necessar…
Recently, a broadcasting multiple blind signature scheme based on quantum teleportation has been proposed for the first time. It is claimed to have unconditional security and properties of quantum multiple signature and quantum blind signature. In this paper, we analyze the security of the protocol and show that the signatory Ui can learn the signed message m by a single particle measurement and the signed message m can be modified at random by anyone according to the scheme. Furthermore, there are some participant attacks and external attacks existing in the scheme. Finally we present an impr…
We extend the formalism of cluster state quantum secret sharing, as presented in Markham and Sanders [Phys. Rev. A 78, 042309 (2008)] and Keet et al. [Phy. Rev. A 82, 062315 (2010)], to the continuous-variable regime. We show that both classical and quantum information can be shared by distributing continuous-variable cluster states through either public or private channels. We find that the adversary structure is completely denied from the secret if the cluster state is infinitely squeezed, but some secret information would be leaked if a realistic finitely squeezed state is employed. We sugg…
In order to avoid the risk of information leakage during the information mutual transmission between two authorized participants, i.e., Alice and Bob, a quantum dialogue protocol based on the entanglement swapping between any two Bell states and the shared secret Bell state is proposed. The proposed protocol integrates the ideas of block transmission, two-step transmission and unitary operation encoding together using the Bell states as the information carriers. Besides the entanglement swapping between any two Bell states, a shared secret Bell state is also used to overcome the information le…
We propose a 2N qubit entangled channel that can be used to teleport N qubits in a network to a single receiver. We describe the construction of this channel and explicitly demonstrate how the protocol works. The protocol is different from teleportation using $N$ Bell pairs shared between $N$ senders and a single receiver, as it ensures that all parties have to participate in order for the teleportation to be successful. This can be advantageous in various scenarios and we discuss potential application of this protocol to voting.

Quantum state teleportation is a protocol where a shared entangled state is used as a quantum channel to transmit quantum information between distinct locations. Here we consider the task of estimating entanglement in teleportation experiments. We show that the data accessible in a teleportation experiment allows to put a lower bound on some entanglement measures, such as entanglement negativity and robustness. Furthermore, we show cases in which the lower bounds are tight. The introduced lower bounds can also be interpreted as quantifiers of the nonclassicality of a teleportation experiment. …
We present a continuous variable (CV) quantum key distribution (QKD) scheme based on the CV quantum teleportation of coherent states that yields a raw secret key made up of discrete variables for both Alice and Bob. This protocol preserves the efficient detection schemes of current CV technology (no single-photon detection techniques) and, at the same time, has efficient error correction and privacy amplification schemes due to the binary modulation of the key. We show that for a certain type of incoherent attack it is secure for almost any value of the transmittance of the optical line used b…
Quantum key distribution is a cryptographic primitive for the distribution of symmetric encryption keys between two parties that possess a pre-shared secret. Since the pre-shared secret is a requirement, quantum key distribution may be viewed as a key growing protocol. We note that the use of pre-shared secrets coupled with access to randomness beacons may enable key growing which, though not secure from an information-theoretic standpoint, remains quantum safe.
A rational secret sharing scheme is a game in which each party responsible for reconstructing a secret tries to maximize his utility by obtaining the secret alone. Quantum secret sharing schemes, either derived from quantum teleportation or from quantum error correcting code, do not succeed when we assume rational participants. This is because all existing quantum secret sharing schemes consider that the secret is reconstructed by a party chosen by the dealer. In this paper, for the first time, we propose a quantum secret sharing scheme which is resistant to rational parties. The proposed sche…
In the present paper, a novel bidirectional quantum teleportation protocol is proposed. By using entanglement swapping technique, two GHZ states are shared as a quantum channel between Alice and Bob as legitimate users. In this scheme, based on control-not operation, single-qubit measurement and appropriate unitary operations, two users can simultaneously transmit a pure EPR state to each other. While, in the previous protocols, the users can just teleport a single-qubit state to each other via more than four-qubit state. Therefore, the proposed scheme is economical compared with previous prot…
Quantum teleportation enables deterministic and faithful transmission of quantum states, provided a maximally entangled state is pre-shared between sender and receiver, and a one-way classical channel is available. Here, we prove that these resources are not only sufficient, but also necessary, for deterministically and faithfully sending quantum states through any fixed noisy channel of maximal rank, when a single use of the cannel is admitted. In other words, for this family of channels, there are no other protocols, based on different (and possibly cheaper) sets of resources, capable of rep…
We study the existence of absolutely maximally entangled (AME) states in quantum mechanics and its applications to quantum information. AME states are characterized by being maximally entangled for all bipartitions of the system and exhibit genuine multipartite entanglement. With such states, we present a novel parallel teleportation protocol which teleports multiple quantum states between groups of senders and receivers. The notable features of this protocol are that (i) the partition into senders and receivers can be chosen after the state has been distributed, and (ii) one group has to perf…
During the last 20 years, the advance of communication technologies has generated multiple exciting applications. However, classical cryptography, commonly adopted to secure current communication systems, can be jeopardized by the advent of quantum computers. Quantum key distribution (QKD) is a promising technology aiming to solve such a security problem. Unfortunately, current implementations of QKD systems show relatively low key rates, demand low channel noise and use ad hoc devices. In this work, we picture how to overcome the rate limitation by using a 37-core fibre to generate 2.86 Mbit/…
Quantum teleportation is the transfer of quantum information between two locations by the use of shared entanglement. Current teleportation schemes broadly fall under one of two categories, of either qubit or continuous variables teleportation. Spin coherent states on spin ensembles can be teleported under the continuous variables approximation for states with small deviations from a given polarization. However, for spin coherent states with large deviations, no convenient teleportation protocol exists. Recently, we introduced a teleportation scheme where a spin coherent state lying on the equ…
