Using a covariant quark coalescence model combined with a blast-wave-like analytical parametrization for (anti-)strange quark phase-space freeze-out configuration, we extract information on strange quark freeze-out dynamics in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76 TeV by fitting the measured transverse momentum spectra and elliptic flows ($v_2$) of $ϕ$ mesons and $Ω$ baryons. We find that although both the measured and calculated $v_2$ of $ϕ$ and $Ω$ satisfy the number-of-constituent-quark (NCQ) scaling, the NCQ-scaled $v_2$ is significantly smaller than the $v_2$ of strange quarks, implying that the NCQ-scaled $v_2$ of $ϕ$ and $Ω$ cannot be simply identified as the $v_2$ of strange quarks at hadronization. Meanwhile, our results indicate that the covariant quark coalescence model can nicely describe the spectra and elliptic flows of $ϕ$ and $Ω$ simultaneously, suggesting the coalescence mechanism is still valid for $ϕ$ and $Ω$ production in Pb+Pb collisions at LHC energies.
Strange particle ratios and pT-spectra are calculated in a thermal model with single freeze-out, previously used successfully to describe non-strange particle production at RHIC. The model and the recently released data for phi, Lambda, anti-Lambda, and K*(892) are in very satisfactory agreement, showing that the thermal approach can be used to describe the strangeness production at RHIC.
We argue that known systematics of hadron cross sections may cause different particles to freeze out of the fireball produced in heavy-ion collisions at different times. We find that a simple model with two freezeout points is a better description of data than that with a single freezeout, while still remaining predictive. The resulting fits seem to present constraints on the late stage evolution of the fireball, including the tantalizing possibility that the QCD chiral transition influences the yields at sqrt(S)=2700 GeV and the QCD critical point those at sqrt(S)=17.3 GeV.
We determine chemical freeze-out conditions from strangeness observables measured at RHIC beam energies. Based on a combined analysis of lowest-order net-Kaon fluctuations and strange anti-baryon over baryon yield ratios we obtain visibly enhanced freeze-out conditions at high beam energies compared to previous studies which analyzed net-proton and net-charge fluctuations. Our findings are in qualitative agreement with the recent study [1] which utilizes the net-Kaon fluctuation data in combination with information from lattice QCD. Our complimentary approach shows that also strange hadron yie…
The production and freeze-out conditions of strange particles, produced in Au+Au collisions at RHIC energies, are studied within microscopic transport model. The system of final particles can be represented as a core, containing the particles which are still interacting with each other, and a halo, in which the particles have already decoupled from the system. In microscopic calculations hadrons are continuously emitted from the whole reaction volume. At RHIC, however, significant fractions of both mesons and baryons are emitted from the surface region within the first two fm/c. Different spec…
Two approaches to treat the chemical freeze-out of strange particles in hadron resonance gas model are analyzed. The first one employs their non-equillibration via the usual γ_s factor and such a model describes the hadron multiplicities measured in nucleus-nucleus collisions at AGS, SPS and RHIC energies with χ^2/dof = 1.15. Surprisingly, at low energies we find not the strangeness suppression, but its enhancement. Also we suggest an alternative approach to treat the strange particle freeze-out separately, but with the full chemical equilibration. This approach is based on the conservation la…
We study the chemical conditions at freeze-out associated with the production of strange-particles in Si-Au collisions at 14.6 GeV A. We obtain freeze-out chemical potentials and temperature, and determine the entropy as well as the final particle abundance. We also consider in detail the alternative evolution scenarios involving the hadronic gas and the deconfined phase.
Using the moments of the net-kaon distribution calculated within a state of-the-art hadron resonance gas model compared to experimental data from STAR's Beam Energy Scan, we find that the extracted strange freeze-out temperature is incompatible with the light one extracted from net-proton and net-charge fluctuations. Additionally predictions for net-$Lambda$ fluctuations are made that also appear to be consistent with a higher freeze-out temperature for strange particles. This strangeness freeze-out temperature is roughly $10-15$ MeV higher than the corresponding light freeze-out temperature. …
We study the chemical freeze-out dynamics of strange particles ($K,\, Λ,\, Σ$) from a homogeneous and isotropically expanding hadronic system of $π, K, ρ, N, Λ$ and $Σ$ with zero net baryon density. We use the momentum integrated Boltzmann equation and study their evolution over the bulk hadronic matter, a condition being similar to the one created at top RHIC and LHC energies. The cross-sections, which are input to the equations, are taken either from phenomenological models or parameterized by comparing against experimental data. From this microscopic calculation we find that these strange p…
We discuss the $\sqrt{s}$-dependence of the $K^+/π^+$ ratio in heavy-ion collisions (the "horn" effect) within a Mott-Anderson localization model for chemical freeze-out. The different response of pion and kaon radii to the hot and dense hadronic medium results in different freeze-out conditions. We demonstrate within a simple model that this circumstance enhances the "horn" effect relative to statistical models with universal chemical freeze-out.
We reconsider thermal conditions of the central fireball presumed to be the source of abundantly produced strange (anti-)baryons in S -> W collisions at 200 GeV A. We show that it is possible to completely fix the freeze-out temperature of strange particles in terms of the central rapidity kaon to Lambda particle abundance ratio at fixed, high transverse mass using a non-equilibrium hadronization model and the measured quark fugacities.
The Hadron Resonance Gas Model with two chemical freeze-outs, connected by conservation laws is considered. We are arguing that the chemical freeze-out of strange hadrons should occur earlier than the chemical freeze-out of non-strange hadrons. The hadron multiplicities measured in the heavy ion collisions for the center of mass energy range 2.7 - 200 GeV are described well by such a model. Based on a success of such an approach, a radical way to improve the Hadron Resonance Gas Model performance is suggested. Thus, we suggest to identify the hadronic reactions that freeze-out noticeably earli…
In this article, we will present a systematic analysis of transverse momentum spectra of the strange hadron in different multiplicity events produced in pp collision at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV, pPb collision at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV and PbPb collision at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV. The differential freeze out scenario of strange hadron $K^{0}_{s}$ assumed while analyzing the data using a Tsallis distribution which is modified to include transverse flow. The $p_{T}$ distributions of strange hadron in different systems are characterized in terms of the parameters namely, Tsallis temperature ($T$…
The transverse momentum (mass) spectra of the multi-strange and non-multi-strange (i.e. other identified) particles in central gold-gold (Au-Au), lead-lead (Pb-Pb), argon-muriate (Ar-KCl) and nickel-nickel (Ni-Ni) collisions over a wide energy range have been studied in this work. The experimental data measured by various collaborations have been analyzed. The blast-wave fit with Tsallis statistics is used to extract the kinetic freeze-out temperature and transverse flow velocity from the experimental data of transverse momentum (mass) spectra. The extracted parameters increase with the increa…
I will describe the latest results from lattice QCD pertaining to a potential flavour hierarchy in the hadronic freeze-out from the QCD crossover region. I will compare these results to a variety of improved hadronic resonance gas calculations and to experimental data of fluctuations of net-charge, net-proton and net-kaon multiplicity distributions, which serve as a proxy for the susceptibilities of conserved quantum numbers on the lattice. I will conclude that there is intriguing evidence for a flavour dependent freeze-out, and I will suggest expansions to the experimental program at RHIC and…
We have estimated centrality variation of chemical freeze-out parameters from yield data at mid-rapidity of $π^\pm$, $K^\pm$ and $p$, $\bar{p}$ for collision energies of RHIC (Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider), Beam Energy Scan (RHIC-BES) program, and LHC (Large Hadron Collider). We have considered a simple hadron resonance gas model and employed a formalism involving conserved charges ($B, Q, S$) of QCD for parameterization. Along with temperature and three chemical potentials ($T,μ_B,μ_Q,μ_S$), a strangeness under-saturation factor ($γ_S$) has been used to incorporate the partial equilibratio…
We compare lattice QCD results for appropriate combinations of net strangeness fluctuations and their correlations with net baryon number fluctuations with predictions from two hadron resonance gas (HRG) models having different strange hadron content. The conventionally used HRG model based on experimentally established strange hadrons fails to describe the lattice QCD results in the hadronic phase close to the QCD crossover. Supplementing the conventional HRG with additional, experimentally uncharted strange hadrons predicted by quark model calculations and observed in lattice QCD spectrum ca…
We discuss the production of light nuclei in heavy ion collisions within a multiple freezeout scenario. Thermal parameters extracted from the fits to the observed hadron yields are used to predict the multiplicities of light nuclei. Ratios of strange to non strange nuclei are found to be most sensitive to the details of the chemical freezeout. The well known disagreement between data of $^3_Λ\text{H/}^3\text{He}$ and $\overline{^3_Λ\text{H/}^3\text{He}}$ at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV and models based on thermal as well as simple coalescence using a single chemical freezeout surface goes away when…
The transverse-momentum spectra and elliptic flow of strange particles are calculated in the framework of the single-freeze-out model and compared with the recent RHIC data. An overall very good agreement between the model predictions and the data is obtained.
A detailed discussion of recent results obtained within the hadron resonance gas model with the multi-component hard core repulsion is presented. Among them there are the adiabatic chemical freeze-out criterion, the concept of separate chemical freeze-out of strange particles and the effects of enhancement and sharpening of wide resonances and quark gluon bags occurring in a thermal medium. These findings are discussed in order to strengthen the planned heavy-ion collision experimental programs at low collision energies. We argue, that due to found effects, at the center of mass collision ener…
We update our chemical analysis of (strange) hadrons produced at the SPS in Pb--Pb collisions at 158A GeV and and present a first chemical analysis of RHIC results. We report that the shape of (anti)hyperon m_T-spectra in a thermal freeze-out analysis leads to freeze-out conditions found in chemical analysis, implying sudden strange hyperon production. We discuss how a combined analysis of several strange hadron resonances of differing lifespan can be used to understand the dynamical process present during chemical and thermal freeze-outs. In medium resonance quenching is considered.
The chemical freeze-out of hadrons created in the high energy nuclear collisions is studied within the realistic version of the hadron resonance gas model. The chemical non-equilibrium of strange particles is accounted via the usual $γ_{s}$ factor which gives us an opportunity to perform a high quality fit with $χ^2/dof \simeq 63.5/55 \simeq 1.15$ of the hadronic multiplicity ratios measured from the low AGS to the highest RHIC energies. In contrast to previous findings, at low energies we observe the strangeness enhancement instead of a suppression. In addition, the performed $γ_{s}$ fit allo…
Thermal models are commonly used to interpret heavy-ion data on particle yields and spectra and to extract the conditions of chemical and thermal freeze-out in heavy-ion collisions. I discuss the usefulness and limitations of such thermal model analyses and review the experimental and theoretical evidence for thermalization in nuclear collisions. The crucial role of correlating strangeness production data with single particle spectra and two-particle correlation measurements is pointed out. A consistent dynamical picture for the heavy-ion data from the CERN SPS involves an initial prehadronic …
We evaluate the third- and fourth-order baryon, charge and strangeness susceptibilities near a chiral critical point using the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model. We identify robust qualitative behaviours of the susceptibilities along hypothetical freeze-out lines that agree with previous model studies. Quantitatively, baryon number fluctuations are the largest in magnitude and thus offer the strongest signal when freeze-out occurs farther away from a critical point. Charge and strangeness susceptibilities also diverge at a critical point, but the area where the divergence dominates is smaller, meaning …
We use Lattice QCD calculations of fluctuations and correlations of various conserved charges to show that the deconfinement of strangeness takes place in the chiral crossover region of QCD; however, inside the quark-gluon plasma strange quarks remain strongly interacting at least up to temperatures twice the QCD crossover temperature. Further, we discuss how the freeze-out parameters of heavy-ion collisions can be determined in a model-independent way through direct comparisons between experimentally measured higher order cumulants of conserved charges and corresponding Lattice QCD calculatio…
The transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) spectra in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV, measured by the ALICE experiment at the LHC are analyzed with a thermodynamically consistent Tsallis distribution. The information about the freeze-out surface in terms of freeze-out volume, temperature and the non-extenisivity parameter, $q$, for $K^{0}_{S}$, $Λ+\barΛ$, $Ξ^{-}+\barΞ^{+}$ and $Ω^{-}+\barΩ^{+}$ are extracted by fitting the $p_{\rm T}$ spectra with Tsallis distribution function. The freeze-out parameters of these particles are studied as a function of charged particle multiplicity de…
Ratio of the yield of strange hadrons to pions is considered as an important observable in studying the properties of the system produced in relativistic heavy ion collisions. Production of strange hadrons $K, \bar{K}, Λ, Σ, Ξ$ and $Ω$ have been evaluated microscopically using rate equations by considering their hadronic interaction cross sections in an expanding medium. The yields obtained from rate equations are normalized with thermal pions and compared with the measurements from Pb-Pb collisions at various multiplicities at LHC energy. The calculation has been done for various initial and …
Recently reported transverse momentum distributions of strange hadrons produced in Pb(158AGeV) on Pb collisions and corresponding results from the relativistic quantum molecular dynamics (RQMD) approach are examined. We argue that the experimental observations favor a scenario in which multi-strange hadrons are formed and decouple from the system rather early at large energy densities (around 1 GeV/fm$^3$). The systematics of the strange and non-strange particle spectra indicate that the observed transverse flow develops mainly in the late hadronic stages of these reactions.
We present an elaborate version of the hadron resonance gas model with the combined treatment of separate chemical freeze-outs for strange and non-strange hadrons and with an additional $γ_{s}$ factor which accounts for the remaining strange particle non-equilibration. Within suggested approach the parameters of two chemical freeze-outs are connected by the conservation laws of entropy, baryonic charge, third isospin projection and strangeness. The developed model enables us to perform a high-quality fit of the hadron multiplicity ratios measured at AGS, SPS and RHIC with $χ^2/dof \simeq 0.93$…
We present the system size and flavour dependence of the chemical freeze-out temperature ($T_\mathrm{ch}$) at vanishing baryo-chemical potential calculated via thermal fits to experimental yields for several multiplicity classes in pp, pPb and PbPb collisions measured by ALICE. Using the Thermal-FIST Hadron Resonance Gas model package, we compare the quality of fits across various treatments of strangeness conservation under different freeze-out conditions as a function of the charged particle multiplicity density $\big \langle dN_\mathrm{ch}/dη\big \rangle$. Additionally, we examine how the a…
The complete world set of parity violating electron scattering data up to Q^2~0.3 GeV^2 is analysed. We extract the current experimental determination of the strange electric and magnetic form factors of the proton, as well as the weak axial form factors of the proton and neutron, at Q^2 = 0.1 GeV^2. Within experimental uncertainties, we find that the strange form factors are consistent with zero, as are the anapole contributions to the axial form factors. Nevertheless, the correlation between the strange and anapole contributions suggest that there is only a small probability that these form …
We attempt to describe the rapidity and transverse momentum spectra of strange as well as non-strange hadrons e.g. cascade, cascadebar, lambda , lambdabar, proton, protonbar,(omega+omegabar, Kaon, anti-Kaon and their ratios in the ultra-relativistic collisions of gold nuclei at (Root sNN)=200 GeV. This is done by using a statistical thermal freeze-out model which incorporates the rapidity (collision) axis as well as transverse direction boosts developed within an expanding hot and dense hadronic fluid (fireball) till the final freeze-out. We determine the thermo-chemical freeze-out conditions p…
The freezeout conditions in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}}= 200$, $900$ and $7000$ GeV have been extracted by fits to the mean hadron yields at mid-rapidity within the framework of the statistical model of an ideal gas of hadrons and resonances in the grand canonical ensemble. The variation of the extracted freezeout thermal parameters and the goodness of the fits with $\sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}}$ are discussed. We find the extracted temperature and baryon chemical potential of the freezeout surface to be similar in p+p and heavy ion collisions. On the other hand, the thermal …
We investigate the effect of chemical freeze-out on identified particle spectra at 200AGeV Au-Au Collisions at RHIC, by utilizing a full three-dimensional hydrodynamical calculation. The hydrodynamical code SPheRIO we employed is based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamic algorithm. In order to describe the spectra of strange hadrons, the code has been further improved by explicitly incorporating the strangeness conservation and a chemical freeze-out mechanism. In our model, strange hadrons such as Lambda, Xi, Omega and phi undergo the chemical freeze-out immediately after the hadronization, …
The space-averaged phase-space density and entropy per particle are both fundamental observables which can be extracted from the two-particle correlation functions measured in heavy-ion collisions. Two techniques have been proposed to extract the densities from correlation data: either by using the radius parameters from Gaussian fits to meson correlations or by using source imaging, which may be applied to any like pair correlation. We show that the imaging and Gaussian fits give the same result in the case of meson interferometry. We discuss the concept of an equivalent instantaneous source …

The decoupling surface in relativistic heavy-ion collisions may not be homogeneous. Rather, inhomogeneities should form when a rapid transition from high to low entropy density occurs. We analyze the hadron "chemistry" from high-energy heavy-ion reactions for the presence of such density inhomogeneities. We show that due to the non-linear dependence of the particle densities on the temperature and baryon-chemical potential such inhomogeneities should be visible even in the integrated, inclusive abundances. We analyze experimental data from Pb+Pb collisions at CERN-SPS and Au+Au collisions at B…
Thermal model fit indicates early chemical freeze-out of multi-strange hadrons with small collective velocities at 200AGeV Au-Au collisions at RHIC. In this work, we present our recent results by SPheRIO hydrodynamical calculations inspired by this picture. In our model, multi-strange hadrons go through chemical freeze-out when the system reaches some temperature close to the phase transition, stopping to make inelastic collisions, and their abundances are therefore determined only by partonic EOS. At a lower temperature thermal freeze-out takes place where elastic collisions are brought to a …
We will report centrality dependence of chemical freeze-out temperature ($T_{ch}$), light quark chemical potential ($μ_{q}$), strange quark chemical potential ($μ_{s}$), and strangeness saturation factor ($γ_{s}$) in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 130 and 200 GeV. A systematic study for combination of ratios for chemical freeze-out fit is studied and we have found small ombination dependences. The results show $γ_{s}$ increasing with centrality but the other parameters have less sensitivity to the centralities.
We compare the mean-over-variance ratio of the net-kaon distribution calculated within a state-of-the-art hadron resonance gas model to the latest experimental data from the Beam Energy Scan at RHIC by the STAR collaboration. Our analysis indicates that it is not possible to reproduce the experimental results using the freeze-out parameters from the existing combined fit of net-proton and net-electric charge mean-over-variance. The strange mesons need about 10-15 MeV higher temperatures than the light hadrons at the highest collision energies. In view of the recent lambda fluctuation measureme…

We show that a hadron gas model with continuous particle emission instead of freeze out may solve some of the problems (high values of the freeze out density and specific net charge) that one encounters in the latter case when studying strange particle ratios such as those by WA85. This underlines the necessity to understand better particle emission in hydrodynamics to be able to analyze data. It also re-opens the possibility of a quark-hadron transition occuring with phase equilibrium instead of explosively.
We present lattice QCD calculations of higher order cumulants of electric charge distributions for small baryon chemical potentials $μ_B$ by using up to NNNLO Taylor expansions. Ratios of these cumulants are evaluated on the pseudo-critical line, $T_{pc}(μ_B)$, of the chiral transition and compared to corresponding measurements in heavy ion collision experiments by the STAR and PHENIX Collaborations. We demonstrate that these comparisons give strong constraints on freeze-out parameters. Furthermore, we use strangeness fluctuation observables to compute the ratio $μ_S/μ_B$ on the crossover line…
Strangeness flavor has turned out to be a very effective diagnostic tool of relativistic heavy ion physics. The absolute yield provides information about conditions arising in first instants of the interaction. Strange hadrons are abundant allowing a precise study of the chemical freeze-out conditions in the dense matter fireball. The thermal and chemical freeze-out universality seen in strange hadrons confirms sudden hadronization as the breakup mechanism. A plausible cause of sudden fireball breakup is the mechanical instability arising when a quark-gluon plasma phase supercools deeply in it…
We present a determination of chemical freeze-out conditions in heavy ion collisions based on ratios of cumulants of net electric charge fluctuations. These ratios can reliably be calculated in lattice QCD for a wide range of chemical potential values by using a next-to-leading order Taylor series expansion around the limit of vanishing baryon, electric charge and strangeness chemical potentials. From a computation of up to fourth order cumulants and charge correlations we first determine the strangeness and electric charge chemical potentials that characterize freeze-out conditions in a heavy…
The event-shape and multiplicity dependence of the chemical freeze-out temperature ($T_{\text{ch}}$), freeze-out radius ($R$), and strangeness saturation factor ($γ_{s}$) are obtained by studying the particle yields from the PYTHIA8 Monte Carlo event generator in proton-proton (pp) collisions at the centre-of-mass $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV. Spherocity is one of the transverse event-shape techniques to distinguish jetty and isotropic events in high-energy collisions and helps in looking into various observables in a more differential manner. In this study, spherocity~classes are divided into three ca…
We present a systematic analysis of transverse momentum $(p_{T})$ spectra of the strange hadrons in different multiplicity events produced in pp collision at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV, pPb collision at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV and PbPb collision at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV. Both the single and differential freeze out scenarios of strange hadrons $K^0_s$, $Λ$ and $Ξ^-$ are considered while fitting using a Tsallis distribution which is modified to include transverse flow. The $p_{T}$ distributions of these hadrons in different systems are characterized in terms of the parameters namely, Tsallis tem…
We explore, as function of the collision energy and stopping in relativistic nuclear collisions, the production yields of strange particles, in particular strange antibaryons, assuming formation of a deconfined thermal QGP-fireball which undergoes a sudden hadronisation. The non-equilibrium freeze-out conditions are established and strange antibaryon excitation functions are shown to have characteristic features that should allow to discriminate between the QGP hypothesis and other reaction scenarios.
We present calculations of the chemical freeze-out temperature (T_ch) based on particle yields from STAR and ALICE measured at collision energies ranging from sqrt{s_{NN}} = 11.5 GeV to 5.02 TeV. Employing the Grand Canonical Ensemble approach using the Thermal-FIST Hadron Resonance Gas model package, we show evidence for a flavour-dependent chemical freeze-out in the crossover region of the QCD phase diagram. At a vanishing baryochemical potential, we calculate light and strange flavour freeze-out temperatures T_L = 150.2 +- 2.6 MeV and T_S = 165.1 +- 2.7 MeV, respectively.
An extension of the single-freeze-out model with thermal and geometric parameters dependent on the spatial rapidity, $α_\parallel$, is used to describe the rapidity and transverse-momentum spectra of pions, kaons, protons, and antiprotons measured at RHIC at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200 {\rm GeV}$ by the BRAHMS collaboration. {\tt THERMINATOR} is used to perform the necessary simulation, which includes all resonance decays. The result of the fit to the rapidity spectra in the range of the BRAHMS data is the expected growth of the baryon and strange chemical potentials with the magnitude of $α_\parallel$…
We analyze the transverse momentum ($p_T$) spectra of identified particles ($π^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$, $p$, and $\bar p$) produced in gold-gold (Au-Au) and lead-lead (Pb-Pb) collisions over a $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ (center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair) range from 14.5 GeV [one of the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) energies] to 2.76 TeV [one of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies]. For the spectra with a narrow $p_T$ range, an improved Tsallis distribution which is in fact the Tsallis distribution with radial flow is used. For the spectra with a wide $p_T$ range, a superposition of the impr…
Detailed knowledge of the hadronic spectrum is still an open question, which has phenomenological consequences on the study of heavy-ion collisions. A previous lattice QCD study concluded that additional strange resonances are missing in the currently tabulated lists provided by the Particle Data Group (PDG). That study identified the list labeled PDG2016+ as the ideal spectrum to be used as an input in thermal-model-based analyses. In this work, we determine the effect of additional resonances on the freeze-out parameters of systems created in heavy-ion collisions. These parameters are obtain…
This proceeding briefly summarizes our recent VISHNU hybrid model investigations on the chemical and thermal freeze-out of various hadrons species in 2.76 A TeV Pb+Pb collisions. Detailed analysis on the evolution of particle yields and the last elastic collisions distributions during the hadronic evolution reveals that the two multi-strange hadrons, $Ξ$ and $Ω$, experience early chemical and thermal freeze-out when compared with other hadron species.
Driven by the Beam Energy Scan (BES) program at the RHIC, researches and discussions on the QCD phase diagram have flourished recently. In order to provide a reference from microscopic transport models, we performed a systematic analysis, using a multiphase transport (AMPT) model for the particle yields and a statistical model (THERMUS) for the thermal fit, for Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\text{NN}}}$=7.7-200 GeV. It is found that at a fixed collision centrality the chemical freeze-out parameter, temperature $T_{\text{ch}}$, increases with collision energy and somehow saturates at certain va…
We explain how event-by-event fluctuations of particle ratios can constrain and falsify the statistical model of particle production in heavy ion collisions, using $K/π$ fluctuations as an example. We define an observable capable of determining which statistical model, if any, governs freeze-out in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions. We calculate this observable for $K/π$ fluctuations, and show that it should be the same for RHIC and LHC energies, as well as independent of centrality, if the Grand-Canonical statistical model is an appropriate description and chemical equilibrium applies. W…
The excitation function of freeze-out time, average freeze-out temperature and freeze-out energy density of (multi-) strange baryons created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions is investigated in the framework of a microscopic transport model. We find that the Omega on average freezes out earlier than the nucleon, Xi and Lambda. The average freeze-out temperature and energy density as well as the spread between the different baryonicstates increase monotonously with increasing beam energy and should approach a universal value in the case of a hadronizing Quark-Gluon-Plasma.
