We present the second major release of data from the SAMI Galaxy Survey. Data Release Two includes data for 1559 galaxies, about 50% of the full survey. Galaxies included have a redshift range 0.004 < z < 0.113 and a large stellar mass range 7.5 < log (M_star/M_sun) < 11.6. The core data for each galaxy consist of two primary spectral cubes covering the blue and red optical wavelength ranges. For each primary cube we also provide three spatially binned spectral cubes and a set of standardised aperture spectra. For each core data product we provide a set of value-added data products. This includes all emission line value-added products from Data Release One, expanded to the larger sample. In addition we include stellar kinematic and stellar population value-added products derived from absorption line measurements. The data are provided online through Australian Astronomical Optics' Data Central. We illustrate the potential of this release by presenting the distribution of ~350,000 stellar velocity dispersion measurements from individual spaxels as a function of R/R_e, divided in four galaxy mass bins. In the highest stellar mass bin (log (M_star/M_sun)>11), the velocity dispersion strongly increases towards the centre, whereas below log (M_star/M_sun)<10 we find no evidence for a clear increase in the central velocity dispersion. This suggests a transition mass around log (M_star/M_sun) ~10 for galaxies with or without a dispersion-dominated bulge.
We have entered a new era where integral-field spectroscopic surveys of galaxies are sufficiently large to adequately sample large-scale structure over a cosmologically significant volume. This was the primary design goal of the SAMI Galaxy Survey. Here, in Data Release 3 (DR3), we release data for the full sample of 3068 unique galaxies observed. This includes the SAMI cluster sample of 888 unique galaxies for the first time. For each galaxy, there are two primary spectral cubes covering the blue (370-570nm) and red (630-740nm) optical wavelength ranges at spectral resolving power of R=1808 a…
We present SAMI-HI, a survey of the atomic hydrogen content of 296 galaxies with integral field spectroscopy available from the SAMI Galaxy Survey. The sample spans nearly 4 dex in stellar mass ($M_\star = 10^{7.4}-10^{11.1}~ \rm M_\odot$), redshift $z<0.06$, and includes new Arecibo observations of 153 galaxies, for which we release catalogues and HI spectra. We use these data to compare the rotational velocities obtained from optical and radio observations and to show how systematic differences affect the slope and scatter of the stellar-mass and baryonic Tully-Fisher relations. Specifically…
We present the first major release of data from the SAMI Galaxy Survey. This data release focuses on the emission-line physics of galaxies. Data Release One includes data for 772 galaxies, about 20% of the full survey. Galaxies included have the redshift range 0.004 < z < 0.092, a large mass range (7.6 < log(Mstellar/M$_\odot$) < 11.6), and star-formation rates of 10^-4 to 10^1\ M$_\odot$/yr. For each galaxy, we include two spectral cubes and a set of spatially resolved 2D maps: single- and multi-component emission-line fits (with dust extinction corrections for strong lines), local dust extin…
We present gas-phase metallicity and ionization parameter maps of 25 star-forming face-on spiral galaxies from the SAMI Galaxy Survey Data Release 1. Self-consistent metallicity and ionization parameter maps are calculated simultaneously through an iterative process to account for the interdependence of the strong emission line diagnostics involving ([OII]+[OIII])/H$β$ (R23) and [OIII]/[OII] (O32). The maps are created on a spaxel-by-spaxel basis because HII regions are not resolved at the SAMI spatial resolution. We combine the SAMI data with stellar mass, star formation rate (SFR), effective…
We present the ~800 star formation rate maps for the SAMI Galaxy Survey based on Hα emission maps, corrected for dust attenuation via the Balmer decrement, that are included in the SAMI Public Data Release 1. We mask out spaxels contaminated by non-stellar emission using the [O III]/Hβ, [N II]/Hα, [S II]/Hα, and [O I]/Hα line ratios. Using these maps, we examine the global and resolved star-forming main sequences of SAMI galaxies as a function of morphology, environmental density, and stellar mass. Galaxies further below the star-forming main sequence are more likely to have flatter star forma…
We explore local and global dynamical differences between the kinematics of ionised gas and stars in a sample of galaxies from Data Release 3 of the SAMI Galaxy Survey. We find better agreement between local (i.e., comparing on a spaxel-to-spaxel basis) velocities and dispersion of gas and stars in younger systems as with previous work on the asymmetric drift in galaxies, suggesting that the dynamics of stars and ionised gas are initially coupled. The intrinsic scatter around the velocity and dispersion relations increases with increasing stellar age and mass, suggesting that subsequent mechan…
We present the second release of value-added catalogues of the LAMOST Spectroscopic Survey of the Galactic Anticentre (LSS-GAC DR2). The catalogues present values of radial velocity $V_{\rm r}$, atmospheric parameters --- effective temperature $T_{\rm eff}$, surface gravity log$g$, metallicity [Fe/H], $α$-element to iron (metal) abundance ratio [$α$/Fe] ([$α$/M]), elemental abundances [C/H] and [N/H], and absolute magnitudes ${\rm M}_V$ and ${\rm M}_{K_{\rm s}}$ deduced from 1.8 million spectra of 1.4 million unique stars targeted by the LSS-GAC since September 2011 until June 2014. The catalo…
Panoramic IFU spectroscopy is a core tool of modern observational astronomy and is especially important for galaxy physics. Many massive IFU surveys, such as SDSS MaNGA (10k targets), SAMI (3k targets), Califa (600 objects), Atlas3D (260 objects) have recently been released and made publicly available to the broad astronomical community. The complexity and massiveness of the derived data products from spectral cubes makes visualization of the entire dataset challenging, but nevertheless very important and crucial for scientific output. Based on our past experience with visualization of spectra…
The LOFAR Two-metre Sky Survey (LoTSS) is an ongoing sensitive, high-resolution 120-168 MHz survey of the Northern sky with diverse and ambitious science goals. Many of the scientific objectives of LoTSS rely upon, or are enhanced by, the association or separation of the sometimes incorrectly catalogued radio components into distinct radio sources, and the identification and characterisation of the optical counterparts to these sources. Here we present the source associations and optical and/or IR identifications for sources in the first data release, which are made using a combination of stat…
We present The Machine, an artificial neural network (ANN) capable of differentiating between the numbers of Gaussian components needed to describe the emission lines of Integral Field Spectroscopic (IFS) observations. Here we show the preliminary results of the S7 first data release (Siding Spring Southern Seyfert Spectro- scopic Snapshot Survey, Dopita et al. 2015) and SAMI Galaxy Survey (Sydney-AAO Multi-object Integral Field Unit, Croom et al. 2012) to classify whether the emission lines in each spatial pixel are composed of 1, 2, or 3 different Gaussian components. Previously this classif…
We present and make publicly available the second data release (DR2) of the Keck Observatory Database of Ionized Absorption toward Quasars (KODIAQ) survey. KODIAQ DR2 consists of a fully-reduced sample of 300 quasars at 0.07 < z_em < 5.29 observed with HIRES at high resolution (36,000 <= R <= 103,000). DR2 contains 831 spectra available in continuum normalized form, representing a sum total exposure time of ~4.9 megaseconds on source. These co-added spectra arise from a total of 1577 individual exposures of quasars taken from the Keck Observatory Archive (KOA) in raw form and uniformly process…
We introduce the Swift/UVOT+MaNGA (SwiM) value added catalog, which comprises 150 galaxies that have both SDSS/MaNGA integral field spectroscopy and archival Swift/UVOT near-UV (NUV) images. The similar angular resolution between the three Swift/UVOT NUV images and the MaNGA maps allows for a high-resolution comparison of optical and NUV indicators of star formation, crucial for constraining quenching and attenuation in the local universe. The UVOT NUV images, SDSS images, and MaNGA emission line and spectral index maps have all been spatially matched and re-projected to match the point spread…
We present the third and final data release of the Large Early Galaxy Astrophysics Census (LEGA-C), an ESO/VLT public spectroscopic survey targeting $0.6 < z < 1.0$, Ks-selected galaxies. The data release contains 3528 spectra with measured stellar velocity dispersions and stellar population properties, a 25-fold increase in sample size compared to previous work. This $K_s$-selected sample probes the galaxy population down to $\sim0.3 L^*$, for all colors and morphological types. Along with the spectra we publish a value-added catalog with stellar and ionized gas velocity dispersions, stellar …
The "cosmic web", the filamentary large-scale structure in a cold dark matter Universe, is readily apparent via galaxy tracers in spectroscopic surveys. However, the underlying dark matter structure is as of yet unobservable and mapping the diffuse gas permeating it lies beyond practical observational capabilities. A recently developed technique, inspired by the growth and movement of Physarum polycephalum "slime mold", has been used to map the cosmic web of a low redshift sub-sample of the SDSS spectroscopic galaxy catalog. This model, the Monte Carlo Physarum Machine (MCPM) was shown to prom…
Kardashev Type III civilisations have by definition energy requirements that are likely to generate strong excess emission in the mid-infrared (MIR) that is associated with the waste heat they generate. For those civilisations that capture starlight via Dyson sphere like constructions, the Optical to MIR flux ratio of the host galaxies is also expected to be unusually low. Since a wide range of galaxy types adhere to the infrared-radio correlation (IRC), galaxies hosting Type III civilisations should also strongly deviate from this relation. Radio data can therefore play a crucial role in brea…
This paper presents the second data release (DR2) of the Beijing-Arizona Sky Survey (BASS). BASS is an imaging survey of about 5400 deg$^2$ in $g$ and $r$ bands using the 2.3 m Bok telescope. DR2 includes the observations as of July 2017 obtained by BASS and Mayall $z$-band Legacy Survey (MzLS). This is our first time to include the MzLS data covering the same area as BASS. BASS and MzLS have respectively completed about 72% and 76% of their observations. The two surveys will be served for the spectroscopic targeting of the upcoming Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument. Both BASS and MzLS data…
We present the MaNGA FIREFLY Value-Added-Catalogue (VAC) - a catalogue of ~3.7 million spatially resolved stellar population properties across 10,010 nearby galaxies from the final data release of the MaNGA survey. The full spectral fitting code firefly is employed to derive parameters such as stellar ages, metallicities, stellar and remnant masses, star formation histories, star formation rates and dust attenuation. In addition to Voronoi-binned measurements, our VAC also provides global properties, such as central values and radial gradients. Two variants of the VAC are available: presenting…
We present the second data release of the Large Early Galaxy Astrophysics Census (LEGA-C), an ESO 130-night public spectroscopic survey conducted with VIMOS on the Very Large Telescope. We release 1988 spectra with typical continuum S / N ~= 20 /Angstrom of galaxies at 0.6 ~< z ~< 1.0, each observed for ~20 hours and fully reduced with a custom-built pipeline. We also release a catalog with spectroscopic redshifts, emission line fluxes, Lick/IDS indices, and observed stellar and gas velocity dispersions that are spatially integrated quantities including both rotational motions and genuine disp…
We present the source associations, cross-identifications, and multi-wavelength properties of the faint radio source population detected in the deep tier of the LOFAR Two Metre Sky Survey (LoTSS): the LoTSS Deep Fields. The first LoTSS Deep Fields data release consists of deep radio imaging at 150~MHz of the ELAIS-N1, Lockman Hole, and Boötes fields, down to RMS sensitives of around 20, 22, and 32$~μ$Jy\,beam$^{-1}$, respectively. These fields are some of the best studied extra-galactic fields in the northern sky, with existing deep, wide-area panchromatic photometry from X-ray to infrared wav…
Spectral energy distribution (SED) models of galaxies at $0.3\leq z \leq 2.5$ were constructed to be processed by the Euclid spectroscopic channel simulator in order to investigate the \Euclid Near-Infrared Spectrometer and Photometer (NISP) capabilities. We developed a solid methodology to build a realistic and representative synthetic SED library of star-forming galaxies, including reliable emission line fluxes and widths. The construction of the SEDs consists in computing the continuum using the Bruzual \& Charlot (2003) models, calling out SED fitting parameters available in publicly relea…
Data from the SDSS-IV / Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment (APOGEE-2) have been released as part of SDSS Data Releases 13 (DR13) and 14 (DR14). These include high resolution H-band spectra, radial velocities, and derived stellar parameters and abundances. DR13, released in August 2016, contained APOGEE data for roughly 150,000 stars, and DR14, released in August 2017, added about 110,000 more. Stellar parameters and abundances have been derived with an automated pipeline, the APOGEE Stellar Parameter and Chemical Abundance Pipeline (ASPCAP). We evaluate the performance of t…

The first data release of Apertif survey contains 3074 radio continuum images covering a thousand square degrees of the sky. The observations were performed during August 2019 to July 2020. The continuum images were produced at a central frequency 1355 MHz with the bandwidth of $\sim$150 MHz and angular resolution reaching 10". In this work we introduce and apply a new method to obtain a primary beam model using a machine learning approach, Gaussian process regression. The primary beam models obtained with this method are published along with the data products for the first Apertif data releas…
Simultaneous Estimates of Star-cluster Age, Metallicity, Mass, and Extinction (SESAMME) I: Presenting an MCMC Approach to Spectral Stellar Population Fitting
We present the MaNGA Dwarf galaxy, MaNDala, Value-Added-Catalog, VAC, from the final release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey-IV program. MaNDala consists of 136 randomly selected bright dwarf galaxies with $M_{*}<10^{9.1}\odot$ and $M_{g}>-18.5$ making it the largest Integral Field Spectroscopy homogeneous sample of dwarf galaxies. We release a photometric analysis of the $g,r$ and $z$ broadband imaging based on the DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys as well as the spectroscopic analysis based on the Pipe3D SDSS-IV VAC. Our release includes the surface brightness (SB), geometric parameters and color …
We present a sub-arcsecond cross-match of Gaia DR2 against the INT Photometric H-alpha Survey of the Northern Galactic Plane Data Release 2 (IPHAS DR2) and the Kepler-INT Survey (KIS). The resulting value-added catalogues (VACs) provide additional precise photometry to the Gaia photometry (r, i and H-alpha for IPHAS, with additional U and g for KIS). In building the catalogue, proper motions given in \gaia\ DR2 are wound back to match the epochs of IPHAS DR2, thus ensuring high proper motion objects are appropriately cross-matched. The catalogues contain 7,927,224 and 791,071 sources for IPHAS…
The Kilo-Degree Survey (KiDS) is an ongoing optical wide-field imaging survey with the OmegaCAM camera at the VLT Survey Telescope, specifically designed for measuring weak gravitational lensing by galaxies and large-scale structure. When completed it will consist of 1350 square degrees imaged in four filters (ugri). Here we present the fourth public data release which more than doubles the area of sky covered by data release 3. We also include aperture-matched ZYJHKs photometry from our partner VIKING survey on the VISTA telescope in the photometry catalogue. We illustrate the data quality an…
The Beijing-Arizona Sky Survey (BASS) is a wide and deep imaging survey to cover a 5400 deg$^2$ area in the Northern Galactic Cap with the 2.3m Bok telescope using two filters ($g$ and $r$ bands). The Mosaic $z$-band Legacy Survey (MzLS) covers the same area in $z$ band with the 4m Mayall telescope. These two surveys will be used for spectroscopic targeting of the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI). The BASS survey observations were completed in 2019 March. This paper describes the third data release (DR3) of BASS, which contains the photometric data from all BASS and MzLS observation…

We spectroscopically detected candidate emission-lines of 8 likely, 17 probable, and 69 possible strong galaxy-galaxy gravitational lens candidates found within the spectra of ~10,000 galaxy targets contained within the completed Mapping of Nearby Galaxies at Apache Point Observatory (MaNGA) survey. This search is based upon the methodology of the Spectroscopic Identification of Lensing Objects (SILO) project, which extends the spectroscopic detection methods of the BOSS Emission-Line Lensing Survey (BELLS) and the Sloan Lens ACS Survey (SLACS). We scanned the co-added residuals that we constr…
The ensemble of chemical element abundance measurements for stars, along with precision distances and orbit properties, provides high-dimensional data to study the evolution of the Milky Way. With this third data release of the Galactic Archaeology with HERMES (GALAH) survey, we publish 678 423 spectra for 588 571 mostly nearby stars (81.2% of stars are within <2 kpc), observed with the HERMES spectrograph at the Anglo-Australian Telescope. This release (hereafter GALAH+ DR3) includes all observations from GALAH Phase 1 (bright, main, and faint survey, 70%), K2-HERMES (17%), TESS-HERMES (5%), …
In Galaxy And Mass Assembly Data Release 4 (GAMA DR4), we make available our full spectroscopic redshift sample. This includes 248682 galaxy spectra, and, in combination with earlier surveys, results in 330542 redshifts across five sky regions covering ~250deg^2. The redshift density, is the highest available over such a sustained area, has exceptionally high completeness (95 per cent to r_KIDS=19.65mag), and is well suited for the study of galaxy mergers, galaxy groups, and the low redshift (z<0.25) galaxy population. DR4 includes 32 value-added tables or Data Management Units (DMUs) that pro…
Measurements of [Fe/H] and radial velocity are presented for 89 RR Lyrae (RRL) candidates within 6 kpc of the Sun. After removal of two suspected non-RRL, these stars were added to an existing database, which yielded 464 RRL with [Fe/H] on a homogeneous scale. Using data from the Gaia satellite (Data Release 2), we calculated the positions and space velocities for this sample. These data confirm the existence of a thin-disc of RRL with [alpha/Fe] ~ solar. The majority of the halo RRL with large total energies have near zero angular momenta about the Z axis. Kinematically these stars closely re…
We determine the stellar population properties - age, metallicity, dust reddening, stellar mass and the star formation history - for all spectra classified as galaxies that were published by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS data release 14) and by the DEEP2 (data release 4) galaxy surveys. We perform full spectral fitting on individual spectra, making use of high spectral resolution stellar population models. Calculations are carried out for several choices of the model input, including three stellar initial mass functions and three input stellar libraries to the models. We study the accurac…
We present a method of fitting optical spectra of galaxies using a basis set of six vectors obtained from principal component analysis (PCA) of a library of synthetic spectra of 40000 star formation histories (SFHs). Using this library, we provide estimates of resolved effective stellar mass-to-light ratio ($\log Υ^*$) for thousands of galaxies from the SDSS-IV/MaNGA integral-field spectroscopic survey. Using a testing framework built on additional synthetic SFHs, we show that the estimates of stellar mass-to-light ratio are reliable (as are their uncertainties) at a variety of signal-to-noise…
The Hyper Suprime-Cam Subaru Strategic Program (HSC-SSP) is a three-layered imaging survey aimed at addressing some of the most outstanding questions in astronomy today, including the nature of dark matter and dark energy. The survey has been awarded 300 nights of observing time at the Subaru Telescope and it started in March 2014. This paper presents the first public data release of HSC-SSP. This release includes data taken in the first 1.7 years of observations (61.5 nights) and each of the Wide, Deep, and UltraDeep layers covers about 108, 26, and 4 square degrees down to depths of i~26.4, …
