Stability of the Positive Mass Theorem for Axisymmetric Manifolds

Away from the central axis, we prove the stability of the Positive Mass Theorem in the $W^{1,p}$ sense for asymptotically flat axisymmetric manifolds with nonnegative scalar curvature satisfying some additional technical assumptions. We also derive estimates for the volumes of regions, the areas of axisymmetric surfaces, and the distances between points within the manifolds.

Harmonic spinors on axisymmetric 3-manifolds with Melvin ends

We prove the existence of harmonic spinor fields in axisymmetric Riemannian 3-manifolds having nonnegative scalar curvature and asymptotic to the usual constant time hypersurface of Melvin's magnetic universe. Such a spinor can be used in the proof of the uniqueness of the magnetized Schwarzschild solution.

Axisymmetric diffeomorphisms and ideal fluids on Riemannian 3-manifolds

We study the Riemannian geometry of 3D axisymmetric ideal fluids. We prove that the $L^2$ exponential map on the group of volume-preserving diffeomorphisms of a $3$-manifold is Fredholm along axisymmetric flows with sufficiently small swirl. Along the way, we define the notions of axisymmetric and swirl-free diffeomorphisms of any manifold with suitable symmetries and show that such diffeomorphisms form a totally geodesic submanifold of infinite $L^2$ diameter inside the space of volume-preserving diffeomorphisms whose diameter is known to be finite. Relative $K$-stability and modified $K$-energy on toric manifolds

In this paper, we discuss the relative $K$-stability and the modified $K$-energy associated to the Calabi's extremal metric on toric manifolds. We give a sufficient condition in the sense of convex polytopes associated to toric manifolds for both the relative $K$-stability and the properness of modified $K$-energy. In particular, our results hold for toric Fano manifolds with vanishing Futaki-invariant. We also verify our results on the toric Fano surfaces.

Uniform K-stability and Conformally Kähler, Einstein-Maxwell geometry on toric manifolds

Conformally Kähler, Einstein-Maxwell metrics and $f$-extremal metrics are generalization of canonical metrics in Kähler geometry. We introduce uniform K-stability for toric Kähler manifolds, and show that uniform K-stability is necessary condition for the existence of $f$-extremal metrics on toric manifolds. Furthermore, we show that uniform K-stability is equivalent to properness of relative K-energy.

Definability and stability of multiscale decompositions for manifold-valued data

We discuss multiscale representations of discrete manifold-valued data. As it turns out that we cannot expect general manifold-analogues of biorthogonal wavelets to possess perfect reconstruction, we focus our attention on those constructions which are based on upscaling operators which are either interpolating or midpoint-interpolating. Global Stability for Holomorphic Foliations in Kaehler Manifolds

We prove the following theorem for Holomorphic Foliations in compact complex kaehler manifolds: if there is a compact leaf with finite holonomy, then every leaf is compact with finite holonomy. As corollary we reobtain stability theorems for compact foliations in Kaehler manifolds of Edwards-Millett-Sullivan and Hollman.
