We consider a neutrino Two Higgs Doublet Model ($ν$THDM) in which neutrinos obtain {\it naturally} small Dirac masses from the soft symmetry breaking of a global $U(1)_X$ symmetry. We extended the model so the soft term is generated by the spontaneous breaking of $U(1)_X$ by a new scalar field. The symmetry breaking pattern can also stabilize a scalar dark matter candidate. After constructing the model, we study the phenomenology of the dark matter: relic density, direct and indirect detection.
I here discuss the THDMa, a type II two Higgs doublet model that is enhanced by an additional pseudoscalar which serves as a portal to the dark matter sector containing a fermionic dark matter andidate. I present a recent scan of the models parameter space where all parameters are allowed to float freely, and discuss prospects for this model at future $e^+e^-$ colliders for cases that are not covered in standard THDM searches.
We study the decay $t\rightarrow cγ$ with flavor-changing neutral interactions in scalar sector of the type III Two Higgs Doublet Model (THDM-III) with mixing between neutral scalar fields as a result of considering the most general scalar potential. The branching ratio of the decay $Br(t\rightarrow cγ)$ is calculated as function of the mixing parameters and masses of the neutral scalar fields. We obtain a $Br(t\rightarrow cγ)$ of the order of $10^{-8}$ for the considered regions of the mixing parameters. Finally, one upper bound for the possible events is estimated to be $n=18$ by assuming a …
The THDMa is a new physics model that extends the scalar sector of the Standard Model by an additional doublet as well as a pseudoscalar singlet and allows for mixing between all possible scalar states. In the gauge-eigenbasis, the additional pseudoscalar serves as a portal to the dark sector, with a priori any dark matter spins states. The option where dark matter is fermionic is currently one of the standard benchmarks for the experimental collaborations, and several searches at the LHC constrain the corresponding parameter space. However, most current studies constrain regions in parameter …
We review the THDM model in which one of the Higgs doublets does not develop a vacuum expectation value. In this case, the Higgs fields with zero VEV does not contribute to the physical masses of the SM particles, and hence, its interactions with the SM particles can have more freedom than in the case of usual considerations on the THDM models. We show that the stability of the Higgs potential minima can be maintained. All the Higgs boson masses are found lighter than about 300 GeV in the low scale spectrum when v_1=0. Such light mass scales are in the detectable regime, and hence, the SM pred…

We explore the flavor-changing parameters mediated by a Higgs boson within the THDM-III context. In particular, the $h\to t^* c$ processes, and check the high suppression for the FC in the THDM-III context for the low $t_β$ parameters. Our exploration in the $χ_{ij}^{u}-χ_{ij}^{d}-$parameter space shows the allowed regions for different $t_β^{}$ values. We explored different modes for Higgs decays, considered the experimental constraints to get scattering plots for the FC parameters and some relevant decay modes. We expect future results to figure out the FC and its implications in the scalar …
The confirmation of the Higgs boson in Run I data at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the excesses in recent Run II data suggest scenarios beyond the Standard Model (SM). We pursue a study in a minimal model which is an extension of a scalar doublet in the SM known as two-Higgs doublet model (THDM). Following earlier suggestions two real scalars $χ$ and $S$ have been introduced in the THDM where $χ$ is treated as a candidate for dark matter. $χ$ does not receive any vacuum expectation value ($vev$) in the model whereas the Higgs-like scalar $S$ acquires $vev$. This allows small mixing betwe…
Direct searches for dark matter (DM) by the LUX and PandaX-II Collaborations employing xenon-based detectors have recently come up with the most stringent limits to date on the spin-independent elastic scattering of DM off nucleons. For Higgs-portal scalar DM models, the new results have precluded any possibility of accommodating low-mass DM as suggested by the DAMA and CDMS II Si experiments utilizing other target materials, even after invoking isospin-violating DM interactions with nucleons. In the simplest model, SM+D, which is the standard model plus a real singlet scalar named darkon acti…
We consider renormalizable couplings of neutral $ϕ$, singly $ϕ^\pm$, and doubly charged $ϕ^{\pm\pm}$ scalar bosons to leptons and the $Z$ gauge boson and calculate the one-loop contributions to the anomalous weak magnetic dipole moment (AWMDM) $a_τ^W$ and the weak electric dipole moment (WEDM) $d_τ^W$ of a charged lepton in a model independent way. The analytic expressions are presented in terms of both parametric integrals and Passarino-Veltman scalar functions. Among the new contributions, there are those arising from the vertices of the type $ϕ^\pm W^\mp Z$ and $Z ϕ_iϕ_j$ ($i\ne j$), along …
The Standard Model (SM) plus a real gauge-singlet scalar field dubbed darkon (SM+D) is the simplest model possessing a weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) dark-matter candidate. In this model, the parameters are constrained from dark matter relic density and direct searches. The fact that interaction between darkon and SM particles is only mediated by Higgs boson exchange may lead to significant modifications to the Higgs boson properties. If the dark matter mass is smaller than a half of the Higgs boson mass, the Higgs boson can decay into a pair of darkons resulting in a large invisib…
We present an analysis of the Dark S3 model in the heavy DM mass region, this model features an S3 symmetric extension of the scalar sector of the SM including a scalar $SU(2)$ doublet dark matter candidate. We use publicly available tools to compute, in addition to conventional physical constraints on the parameter space of the model, the Sommerfeld enhancement factors for the present day annihilation cross section and the likelihood profile for a simulation of an observation run by the Cherenkov Telescope Array of the Coma Berenices dwarf galaxy. Our results disfavour masses above $\sim$5 Te…
The property of dark matter is unknown so far. However, a model-independent classification of dark matter candidates can be achieved by using various symmetries, as done in the Standard Model. Fermionic dark matter has been researched extremely, one favored candidate is the neutralino in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, which are required by fermion-boson symmetry and preservation of R-parity. Bosonic dark matter has not been studied sufficiently, especially the scenario of dark matter with mass of sub-GeV. In this paper, we consider the effect of spin-dependent (SD) on scalar and ve…
We study the compatibility of the unitarity bound and the 8TeV LHC on the effective theory of the scalar dark matter. In several signals of effective interactions, mono-jet with missing energy events are studied. We found that, at least, if the dark matter mass is about 800GeV or heavier, contributions of events violating the unitarity are not negligible. The unitarity conditions in the 14TeV LHC are also calculated.
We propose a novel way to search for the dark photon ($A'$), the axion-like pseudo-scalar ($a$), the dark scalar ($ϕ$), and the light dark matter ($χ$) in the Compton-like processes, $γ+ e^- \rightarrow A'/a/ϕ+ e^-$ with $A'/a/ϕ$ decaying into leptons, photons, or $χ$'s (when permitted) for the mass ranges of $m_{A'/a/ϕ} \leq$ 100 MeV/$c^2$ and $m_χ \leq $ 50 MeV/$c^2$. We examine how the past, current, and future fixed target experiments can use this under-explored production mechanism of dark particles. We show that the existing and planned tagged photon beam fixed-target experiments (GlueX,…
We point out the possibility to test the simplest scalar dark matter model at gamma-ray telescopes. We discuss the relevant constraints and show the predictions for direct detection, gamma line searches and LHC searches. Since the final state radiation processes are suppressed by small Yukawa couplings one could observe the gamma lines from dark matter annihilation.
We consider the dark matter scalar in the Randall Sundrum background and study the annihilation cross section if the curvature-scalar mixing is switched on. In this case, in addition to the radion, the standard model Higgs scalar drives the annihilation and it leads to a considerable enhancement in the annihilation cross section. Furthermore we take unparticle, having a non-zero mass coming from the standard model Higgs-unparticle interaction in the low energy level, as a dark matter candidate and analyze the annihilation cross section by including the effect of the curvature-scalar mixing. We…
We analyze the annihilation cross section of dark matter which interacts with the standard model sector over the scalar unparticle propagator. We observe that the annihilation cross section of dark matter pair is sensitive to the dark matter mass and the scaling dimension of scalar unparticle. We estimate a range for the dark matter mass and the scaling dimension of scalar unparticle by using the current dark matter abundance.
We discuss cosmological constraints on a dark scalar particle mixing with the Standard Model Higgs boson. We pay particular attention to the dark scalar production process when the reheating temperature of the Universe is very low, which allows us to give a conservative limit on the low-mass scalar particle. We also study the effect of the self-interaction of the dark scalars and find this has a significant impact on the cosmological constraints. We obtain the most conservative cosmological constraint on the dark scalar, which is complementary to accelerator experiments and astrophysical obser…
We study the electroweak phase transition in the framework of scalar singlet-doublet mixed dark matter model, where the particle dark matter candidate is the lightest neutral Higgs that comprised of the CP-even component of inert doublet and a singlet scalar. The dark matter can be dominated by the inert doublet or singlet scalar depending on the mixing. We present several benchmark models to investigate the two situations after imposing several theoretical and experimental constraints. An additional singlet scalar and the inert doublet drive the electroweak phase transition to be strongly fir…
We explore a two component dark matter model with a fermion and a scalar. In this scenario the Standard Model (SM) is extended by a fermion, a scalar and an additional pseudo scalar. The fermionic component is assumed to have a global ${\rm U(1)}_{\rm DM}$ and interacts with the pseudo scalar via Yukawa interaction while a $\mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetry is imposed on the other component -- the scalar. These ensure the stability of both the dark matter components. Although the Lagrangian of the present model is CP conserving, however the CP symmetry breaks spontaneously when the pseudo scalar acquires…
Scalar fields with $SU(2)_L$ quantum numbers provide several viable Dark Matter candidates around the TeV scale. Thanks to scalar quartic interactions, the observed relic density can be obtained for a large range of masses, which we determine. In turn, the constraints on the scalar couplings lead to testable predictions in future direct and indirect searches.
We study a renormalizable scalar singlet dark matter model based on $Z_4$ lepton flavor symmetry. A $μτ$-philic scalar doublet is introduced to explain the discrepancy between the experimental value and the theoretical prediction of the muon anomalous magnetic moment. At the same time, these flavored scalars play the role of a mediator which connects dark matter and standard model particles. The observed relic abundance of the dark matter is easily maintained while satisfying the current severe constraints on the dark matter from various experiments and observations thanks to the flavor off-di…
The proposed DarkQuest beam dump experiment, a modest upgrade to the existing SeaQuest/SpinQuest experiment, has great potential for uncovering new physics within a dark sector. We explore both the near-term and long-term prospects for observing two distinct, highly-motivated hidden sector benchmark models: heavy neutral leptons and Higgs-mixed scalars. We comprehensively examine the particle production and detector acceptance at DarkQuest, including an updated treatment of meson production, and light scalar production through both bremsstrahlung and gluon-gluon fusion. In both benchmark model…
We investigate the possibility of Higgs inflation with an extended standard model by right-handed neutrinos and scalar dark matter. We find that the masses of the dark matter and one of the right-handed neutrinos should stand around TeV and $10^{-14}$ GeV scale respectively even if the magnitude of tensor-to-scalar ratio indicates sufficiently small value.
A simple and elegant mechanism is proposed to resolve the problem of having a light scalar mediator for self-interacting dark matter and the resulting disruption to the cosmic microwave background (CMB) at late times by the former's enhanced Sommerfeld production and decay. The crucial idea is to have Dirac neutrinos with the conservation of U(1) lepton number extended to the dark sector. The simplest scenario consists of scalar or fermion dark matter with unit lepton number accompanied by a light scalar dilepton mediator, which decays to two neutrinos.
We propose a two component dark matter set-up by extending the Standard Model with a singlet and a hypercharge-less triplet scalars, each of them being odd under different $Z_2$ symmetries. We observe that the inter-conversion between the two dark matter components allow a viable parameter space where masses of both the dark matter candidates can be below TeV, even though their individual contribution to single component dark matter rules out any such sub-TeV dark matter. We find that a lighter mass of the neutral component of the scalar triplet, playing the role of one dark matter component, …
We explore a simple model containing two singlet scalars as dark matter supplemented with a vector-like lepton. Evading collider and dark matter constraints, the model is able to accommodate the correct dark matter relic abundance and the muon g-2 anomaly when the masses of the three new fields are around 100 GeV and the values of the minimum amount of required couplings are order one.
In this paper we consider loop corrections to the spin-independent WIMP-nucleon scattering cross section in bottom-quark flavored scalar-type dark matter models. We focus on two scenarios: (a) a complex scalar dark matter with a scalar particle as the mediator; and (b) a real scalar dark matter with a vector boson as the mediator. In both scenarios, the direct detection cross sections are either spin-dependent or kinematically forbidden at the tree-level. Corrections induced by the WIMP-gluon effective operator, scalar-type WIMP-quark effective operator, and the twist-2 effective operator are …
We study a minimal model for a light scalar dark matter, requiring a light scalar mediator to address the core-cusp problem and interact with the standard model particles. We analyze the model comprehensively by focusing on the Breit-Wigner resonance for dark matter annihilation and self-scattering channels, considering the thermal relic abundance condition that includes the early kinetic decoupling effect, as well as the present and future constraints from collider, direct, and indirect dark matter detections. We found that the scalar dark matter with the mass of 0.3-2 GeV remains uncharted, …
We discuss phenomenological aspects of models whose scalar sector is extended by an isospin doublet scalar and a complex singlet scalar as an effective theory of supersymmetric models with mixed sneutrinos. In such models, the lighter of the mixed neutral scalars can become a viable dark matter candidate by imposing a U(1) symmetry. We find that the thermal WIMP scenario is consistent with the cosmological dark matter abundance when the mass of the scalar is half of that of the discovered Higgs boson or larger than around 100 GeV. We also point out that, with an additional isospin singlet Majo…
The relic abundance of asymmetric Dark Matter particles in the scalar--tensor model is analysized in this article. We extend the numeric and analytic calculation of the relic density of the asymmetric Dark Matter in the standard cosmological scenario to the nonstandard cosmological scenario. We focus on the scalar--tensor model. Hubble expansion rate is changed in the nonstandard cosmological scenario. This leaves its imprint on the relic density of Dark Matter particles. In this article we investigate to what extent the asymmetric Dark Matter particle's relic density is changed in the scalar-…
In the present universe visible and dark matter contribute comparable energy density although they have different properties. This coincidence can be elegantly explained if the dark matter relic density, originating from a dark matter asymmetry, is fully determined by the baryon asymmetry. Thus the dark matter mass is not arbitrary, rather becomes predictive. We realize this scenario in baryon(lepton) number conserving models where two or more neutral singlet scalars decay into two or three baryonic(leptonic) dark matter scalars, and also decay into quarks(leptons) through other on-shell and/o…

A minimal candidate for dark matter is provided by a stable standard model singlet hermitian scalar field. The quantum mechanical effects of this singlet are explored in a model where the standard model Higgs boson has a large non-minimal coupling to the Ricci scalar and plays the role of the inflaton. Imposition of the slow roll inflation cosmological constraints restricts the allowed values of the Higgs boson mass, its coupling to the dark matter and the dark matter self-coupling.
We study a classically scale-invariant model with an electroweak singlet scalar mediator together with a scalar dark matter multiplet of global $O(N)$ symmetry. Our most general conformally invariant scalar potential generates the electroweak symmetry breaking via the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism, and the new scalar singlet acquires its mass through radiative corrections of the SM particles and the scalar dark matter. Taking into account the collider bounds, we present the allowed region of new physics parameters satisfying the recent measurement of relic abundance. With the obtained parameter s…
We extend the Zee-Babu model for the neutrino masses and mixings by first incorporating a scalar dark matter $X$ with $Z_2$ symmetry and then $X$ and a dark scalar $φ$ with global $U(1)$ symmetry. In the latter scenario the singly and doubly charged scalars that are new in the Zee-Babu model can explain the large annihilation cross section of a dark matter pair into two photons as hinted by the recent analysis of the Fermi $γ$-ray space telescope data. These new scalars can also enhance the $B ( H \rightarrow γγ)$, as the recent LHC results may suggest. The dark matter relic density can be exp…
We consider dark matter represented by the light scalar field whose coupling to the ordinary matter is extremely suppressed. We assume that this interaction can be described as the coupling of the square of the field to the energy-momentum tensor. We study the effect of this interaction on the evolution of dark matter scalar, as well as bounds on the model parameters that come from the variation of fundamental constants at the BBN.
We study the Leptogenesis and Dark Matter in the presence of an extra singlet complex scalar field in an extended discrete $\mathcal{Z_{\rm 3}}$ symmetry. The vacuum expectation value of the new scalar spontaneously breaks the $\mathcal{Z_{\rm 3}}$ symmetry. A remnant CP-like $\mathcal{Z_{\rm 2}}$ symmetry stabilizes the imaginary part of the complex scalar field which can act as a pseudo-Goldstone DM. The real part of the complex scalar couples to RHN opens up new decay channels which can lead to a larger CP-violation in generating the lepton asymmetry. Thus the singlet complex scalar plays a…
In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), the scalar neutrino $\tildeν_L$ has odd R parity, yet it has long been eliminated as a dark-matter candidate because it scatters elastically off nuclei through the $Z$ boson, yielding a cross section many orders of magnitude above the experimental limit. We show how it can be reinstated as a dark-matter candidate by splitting the masses of its real and imaginary parts in an extension of the MSSM with scalar triplets. As a result, radiative Majorana neutrino masses are also generated. In addition, decays of the scalar triplets relate the abun…
By extending the Standard Model with singlet-doublet fermions and triplet scalars, all odd under a new $Z_2$ symmetry, we introduce a radiative seesaw model that can simultaneously account for dark matter, explain the existence of neutrino masses and allow for gauge coupling unification. We explore the viable parameter space of the model after imposing collider, Higgs mass, dark matter, neutrino mass and lepton flavour violation constraints. We find that dark matter in this model is fermionic for masses below about 1 TeV and scalar above and observe a high degree of complementarity between dir…
We investigate a dark matter model involving an inert $\mathrm{SU}(2)_\mathrm{L}$ quadruplet scalar with hypercharge 1/2. After the electroweak symmetry breaking, the dark sector contains one doubly charged, two singly charged, and two neutral scalars. The lighter neutral scalar can be a viable dark matter candidate. Electroweak production of these scalars at the Large Hadron Collider leads to potential signals in the $\text{monojet} + /\!\!\!\!E_\mathrm{T}$ and $\text{soft-leptons} + \text{jets} + /\!\!\!\!E_\mathrm{T}$ channels. We thus derive constraints on the model by reinterpreting recen…
The condensation of scalar bilinear in a classically scale invariant strongly interacting hidden sector is used to generate the electroweak scale, where the excitation of the condensate is identified as dark matter. We formulate an effective theory for the condensation of the scalar bilinear and find in the self-consistent mean field approximation that the dark matter mass is of $O(1)$ TeV with the spin-independent elastic cross section off the nucleon slightly below the LUX upper bound.
A simple scenario of long-lived dark matter is presented. Assuming lepton number $(L)$ conservation with Dirac neutrinos, the neutral component of an $SU(2)_L$ scalar triplet with $L=2$ is a suitable candidate, which decays to two neutrinos. Exotic leptons with $L=-1$ may also play a role, and act as anchors for small seesaw Dirac neutrino masses.
A two-component scalar DM scenario comprising an additional scalar doublet and a $Y$ = 0 scalar triplet is proposed. Key features of the ensuing dark matter phenomenology are highlighted with emphasis on inter-conversion between the two dark matter components. For suitable choices of the model parameters, we show that such inter-conversion can explain the observed relic abundance when the doublet dark matter component has mass in the \emph{desert} region while the triplet component has sub-TeV mass. This finding is important in the context of such mass regions known to predict under-abundant r…
The principle of multiple point criticality (PMPC), which allowed the prediction of the Higgs boson mass before its discovery, has so far been applied to radiatively generated vacua. If this principle is fundamental, following from some presently unknown underlying physics, the PMPC must apply to all vacua, including the multiple vacua of multi-scalar models dominated by tree-level terms. We first motivate this idea and then exemplify it by applying the PMPC to various realizations of singlet scalar dark matter models. We derive constraints on the dark matter properties from the requirement of…
We consider isosinglet scalar extension of a model with a Higgs democracy - multihiggs extension of the SM where each quark and lepton has its own Higgs isodoublet. The addition of light isosinglet scalar allows to solve both muon $g_μ-2$ anomaly and dark matter problem. Also we point out that an extension of the model with $L_μ - L_τ$ vector interaction allows not only explain muon $g_μ - 2$ anomaly but also dark matter density.
