We study the collider phenomenology of a neutral gauge boson $Z'$ arising in minimal but anomalous $\mathrm{U}(1)$ extensions of the Standard Model (SM). To retain gauge invariance of physical observables, we consider cancellation of gauge anomalies through the Green-Schwarz mechanism. We categorize a wide class of $\mathrm{U}(1)$ extensions in terms of the new $\mathrm{U}(1)$ charges of the left-handed quarks and leptons and the Higgs doublet. We derive constraints on some benchmark models using electroweak precision constraints and the latest 13 TeV LHC dilepton and dijet resonance search data. We calculate the decay rates of the exotic and rare one-loop $Z'$ decays to $ZZ$ and $Z$-photon modes, which are the unique signatures of our framework. If observed, these decays could hint at anomaly cancellation through the Green-Schwarz mechanism. We also discuss the possible observation of such signatures at the LHC and at future ILC colliders.
An overview is given of recent progress on a variety of fronts in the global QCD analysis of the parton structure of the nucleon and its implication for collider phenomenology, carried out by various subgroups of the CTEQ collaboration.
This Thesis is devoted to the study of the phenomenology of the Higgs sector of the minimal $B-L$ extension of the Standard Model at present and future colliders. Firstly, the motivations that call for the minimal $B-L$ extension are summarised. In addition, the model is analysed in its salient parts. Moreover, a detailed review of the phenomenological allowed Higgs sector parameter space is given. Finally, a complete survey of the distinctive Higgs boson signatures of the model at both the Large Hadron Collider and the future linear colliders is presented.
The phenomenology of heavy quarkonia production in fixed target experiments and at the Tevatron and HERA colliders is reviewed. The latest theoretical results are presented and compared with data, with emphasis on the predictions of the factorization approach by Bodwin, Braaten and Lepage.
The physics of the Randall-Sundrum model relevant for future linear colliders is briefly summarized. The differences between the case where Standard Model(SM) fields are on the wall and where they are in the bulk are emphasized.
This is a personal recollection of several results involving the phenomenological study of the multi-Regge limit of scattering amplitudes. None of them would have been possible without the encouragement and constant support from Lev Nikolaevich Lipatov.
We study the phenomenology of a Z'-boson field coupled to hypercharge. The Z' propagator has a non-trivial Källén-Lehmann spectral density due to the mixing with a higher dimensional inert vector field. As a consequence detection possibilities at hadron colliders are reduced. We determine the range of parameters where this field can be studied at the Tevatron and the LHC through its production cross section via the Drell-Yan mechanism.
We calculate observables relevant for forward jets at LHC. The simulations are performed using Monte Carlo event generators. In particular we compare results from CASCADE based on high energy factorization and PYTHIA which is based on collinear factorization.
We discuss the collider phenomenology of the model of Minimal Universal Extra Dimensions (MUED) at the Large hadron Collider (LHC). We derive analytical results for all relevant strong pair-production processes of two level 1 Kaluza-Klein partners and use them to validate and correct the existing MUED implementation in the fortran version of the PYTHIA event generator. We also develop a new implementation of the model in the C++ version of PYTHIA. We use our implementations in conjunction with the CHECKMATE package to derive the LHC bounds on MUED from a large number of published experimental …
We discuss the possible signatures in the electroweak symmetry breaking sector by new strong dynamics at future hadron colliders such as the Tevatron upgrade, the LHC and VLHC, and $e^+e^-$ linear colliders. Examples include a heavy Higgs-like scalar resonance, a heavy Technicolor-like vector resonance and pseudo-Goldstone states, non-resonance signatures via enhanced gauge-boson scattering and fermion compositeness.
The phenomenology of a low-energy supersymmetry at hadron colliders is discussed with consideration of the minimal supergravity model, with a large top quark Yukawa coupling at the grand unification mass scale, and gauge mediated symmetry breaking models. Possible supersymmetry interpretations of some unexplained events are mentioned.
Precision measurements at the LHC and future colliders require theory predictions with uncertainties at the percent level for many observables. Theory uncertainties due to the perturbative truncation are particularly relevant and must be reduced to fully exploit the physics potential of collider experiments. In recent years the theoretical high energy physics community has made tremendous analytical and numerical advances to address this challenge. In this white paper, we survey state-of-the-art calculations in perturbative quantum field theory for collider phenomenology with a particular focu…
We study the LHC signatures of new gauge bosons in the minimal deconstruction Higgsless model (MHLM). We analyze the $W'$ signals of $pp\to W' \to WZ$ and $pp\to W'jj \to WZjj$ processes at the LHC, including the complete signal and background calculation in the gauge invariant model and have demonstrated the LHC potential to cover the whole parameter space of the MHLM model.
We investigate the collider implications of Split Universal Extra Dimensions. The non-vanishing fermion mass in the bulk, which is consistent with the KK-parity, largely modifies the phenomenology of Minimal Universal Exta Dimensions. We scrutinize the behavior of couplings and study the discovery reach of the Tevatron and the LHC for level-2 Kaluza-Klein modes in the dilepton channel, which would indicates the presence of the extra dimensions. Observation of large event rates for dilepton resonances can result from a nontrivial fermion mass profile along the extra dimensions, which, in turn, …
We review the phenomenology of electro-weak bosons produced in hadron-hadron collisions. In particular, we discuss the transverse momentum distribution of lepton pairs with invariant mass close to the Z peak. We describe the theoretical calculation for the magnitude of the transverse momentum Q_T and its comparison to Tevatron and LHC data. We also discuss the related variable ϕ*, describing its experimental advantages as well as its relation to the standard Q_T variable. Finally, we compare resummed predictions for ϕ* to data.
Based on a previous work on scenarios where the Standard Model and dark matter particles share a common asymmetry through effective operators at early time in the Universe and later on decouple from each other (not care), in this work, we study in detail the collider phenomenology of these scenarios. In particular, we use the experimental results from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) to constrain the viable parameter space. Besides effective operators, we also constrain the parameter space of some representative ultraviolet complete models with experimental results from both the LHC and the Lar…
We investigate the collider phenomenology of a left-right symmetric Randall-Sundrum model with fermions and gauge bosons in the bulk. We find that the model is allowed by precision electroweak data as long as the ratio of the (unwarped) Higgs vev to the curvature scale is $v/k \le 1/4$. In that region there can be substantial modifications to the Higgs properties. In particular, the couplings to $WW$ and $ZZ$ are reduced, the coupling to gluons is enhanced, and the coupling to $γγ$ can receive shifts in either direction. The Higgs mass bound from LEP II data can potentially be relaxed to $m_H …
We analyse restrictions on the stochastic superspace parameter space arising from 1 fb$^{-1}$ of LHC data, and bounds on sparticle masses, cold dark matter relic density and the branching ratio of the process $B_s \rightarrow μ^+ μ^-$. A region of parameter space consistent with these limits is found where the stochasticity parameter, ξ, takes values in the range -2200 GeV < ξ< -900 GeV, provided the cutoff scale is $\mathcal{O}(10^{18})$ GeV.
We investigate Higgs pair production at proton-proton colliders, with emphasis on the gluon fusion channel at the HL-LHC. We study the behaviour of the leading order matrix element using exact computation of quark loops and infinite quark mass approximation. We analyse di-Higgs kinematics in search for phase space regions where the contribution of Higgs self-coupling to SM Higgs pair production is enhanced. We discuss how non-SM values of the Higgs trilinear coupling may affect the kinematics of the Higgs pair.
We study the phenomenology of the exotic Higgs bosons in the Georgi-Machacek model at future electron-positron colliders such as the International Linear Collider (ILC), assuming the collision energies of 500 GeV and 1 TeV. We show that the existence of the neutral and singly-charged Higgs bosons in the 5-plet representation under the custodial $SU(2)_V$ symmetry can be readily identified by studying various energy and invariant mass distributions of the $W^+W^-Z$ final state. Moreover, their masses can be determined with sufficiently high precision to test the mass degeneracy, a feature due t…
Continuum supersymmetry is a class of models in which the supersymmetric partners together with part of the standard model come from a conformal sector, broken in the IR near the TeV scale. Such models not only open new doors for addressing the problems of the standard model, but also have unique signatures at hadron colliders, which might explain why we have not yet seen any superpartners at the LHC. Here we use gauge-gravity duality to model the conformal sector, generate collider simulations, and finally analyze continuum gluino signatures at the LHC. Due to the increase in the number of je…
We examine the collider and dark matter phenomenology of the Standard Model extended by a hypercharge-zero SU(2) triplet scalar and gauge singlet scalar. In particular, we study the scenario where the singlet and triplet are both charged under a single $\mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetry. We find that such an extension is capable of generating the observed dark matter density, while also modifying the collider phenomenology such that the lower bound on the mass of the triplet is smaller than in minimal triplet scalar extensions to the Standard Model. A high triplet mass is in tension with the parameter sp…
We consider collider signatures of the exceptional supersymmetric (SUSY) standard model (E6SSM). This E6 inspired SUSY model is based on the SM gauge group together with an extra U(1) gauge symmetry under which right--handed neutrinos have zero charge. To ensure anomaly cancellation and gauge coupling unification the low energy matter content of the E6SSM involve extra exotic matter beyond the MSSM. We discuss the collider signatures associated with the production of new particles predicted by the E6SSM and consider the implications of this model for dark matter and Higgs phenomenology. Since …
ATLAS and CMS have discovered a Standard Model Higgs-like particle. One of the main discovery channels is the Higgs decay to two photons, which, at the moment, seems to be considerably enhanced over the Standard Model expectation. Models with additional charged matter coupling to the Higgs sector can enhance or decrease the Higgs to two photons branching ratio. We take this as motivation to confront the so-called Georgi-Machacek model of Higgs triplets with the results of recent searches for a SM Higgs boson performed at the LHC. We also investigate the model in regions of the allowed paramete…
The twin Higgs mechanism has recently been proposed to solve the little hierarchy problem. We study the implementation of the twin Higgs mechanism in left-right models. At TeV scale, heavy quark and gauge bosons appear, with rich collider phenomenology. In addition, there are extra Higgses, some of which couple to both the Standard Model fermion sector and the gauge sector, while others couple to the gauge bosons only. We present the particle spectrum, and study the general features of the collider phenomenology of this class of model at the Large Hadron Collider.
This is the writeup for TASI--04 lectures on Collider Phenomenology. These lectures are meant to provide an introductory presentation on the basic knowledge and techniques for collider physics. Special efforts have been made for those theorists who need to know some experimental issues in collider environments, and for those experimenters who would like to know more about theoretical considerations in searching for new signals at colliders.
Barrientos Bendezu' and Kniehl [hep-ph/9807480] recently suggested that $W^\pm H^\mp$ associated production may be a useful channel in the search for the elusive heavy charged Higgs bosons of the 2 Higgs Doublet Model at the Large Hadron Collider. We investigate the phenomenology of this mechanism in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, with special attention paid to the most likely heavy Higgs decay, $H^\mp\to tb\to b\bar b W^\mp$, and to the irreducible background from top pair production. We find that the semi-leptonic signature `$b\bar b W^+W^-\to b\bar b jj \ell$ + missing momentum'…
Brane world oscillations manifest themselves as massive vector gauge fields. Their coupling to the Standard Model is deduced using the method of nonlinear realizations of the spontaneously broken higher dimensional space-time symmetries. Brane vectors are stable and weakly interacting, and therefore escape particle detectors unnoticed. LEP and Tevatron data on the production of a single photon in conjunction with missing energy are used to delineate experimentally excluded regions of brane vector parameter space. The additional region of parameter space accessible to the LHC as well as a futur…
Recent data on $e^+/e^-$ and $\bar{p}$ cosmic rays suggest that dark matter annihilate into the standard model (SM) particles through new leptophilic interaction. In this paper, we consider a standard model extension with the gauged $U(1)_{L_μ- L_τ}$ group, with a new Dirac fermion charged under this U(1) as a dark matter. We study the muon $(g-2)_μ$, thermal relic density of the cold dark matter, and the collider signatures of this model. $Z^{'}$ productions at the Tevatron or the LHC could be easily order of $O(1)-O(10^3)$ fb.
We discuss production and decays of stops, sbottoms, tau-sneutrinos, and staus in e+e- annihilation in the energy range \sqrt{s} = 0.5-1 TeV. We present numerical predictions within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model for cross sections and decay rates, including one-loop radiative corrections as well as initial state radiation. We also study the importance of beam polarization for the determination of the underlying SUSY parameters. Moreover, we make a comparison of the potential to study squarks and sleptons of the 3rd generation between Tevatron, LHC, and Linear Collider.
Strong mixing between right-handed strange and beauty squarks is a possible solution to the CP violation discrepancy in $B\to ϕK_S$ decay as recently suggested by the Belle data. In this scenario, thanks to the strong mixing one of the strange-beauty squarks can be as light as 200 GeV, even though the generic supersymmetry scale is at TeV. In this work, we study the production of this light right-handed strange-beauty squark at hadronic colliders and discuss the detection in various decay scenarios. Detection prospect at the Tevatron Run II is good for the strange-beauty squark mass up to abou…
I study the phenomenology of heavy neutral bosons Z', predicted in GUT-inspired U(1)' models, at the Large Hadron Collider. In particular, I investigate possible signatures due to Z' decays into superymmetric particles, such as chargino, neutralino and sneutrino pairs, leading to final states with charged leptons and missing energy. The analysis is carried out at sqrt{s}=14 TeV, for a few representative points of the parameter space of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, suitably modified to accommodate the extra Z' boson and consistent with the discovery of a Higgs-like boson with mass…
We calculate the production rate of gauge-boson pairs at $e^+e^-$ colliders in a model with a ``hidden'' electroweak symmetry breaking sector - i.e. one in which there are a large number of particles in the symmetry breaking sector other than the $W^{\pm}$ \thinspace and the $Z^0$. In such a model, the elastic $W^{\pm}$ \thinspace and $Z^0$ scattering amplitudes are small and structureless, i.e. lacking any discernable resonances, at all energies. We show that two gauge boson fusion signal of electroweak symmetry breaking is swamped by the background. Therefore, we cannot rely on gauge boson p…
This Thesis is devoted to the phenomenological analysis at the large hadron collider (LHC), as well at a future electron positron collider, of the 4 dimensional (4D) composite Higgs model (4DCHM), a compelling beyond the standard model scenario where the Higgs state arises as a pseudo Nambu Goldstone boson. The motivations and the main characteristics of the model are summarised and then an analysis of the gauge and Higgs sectors of the 4DCHM is performed. Finally we propose a general framework for the analysis of models with an extended quark sector that we have applied to a simplified compos…
We study one-jet inclusive hadro-production and compute the QCD threshold corrections for large transverse momentum of the jet in the soft-gluon resummation formalism at next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy. We use the resummed result to generate approximate QCD corrections at next-to-next-to leading order, compare with results in the literature and present rapidity integrated distributions of the jet's transverse momentum for Tevatron and LHC. For the threshold approximation we investigate its kinematical range of validity as well as its dependence on the jet's cone size and kinematics.
Phenomenology of a radion ($ϕ$) that stabilizes the modulus in the Randall-Sundrum scenario is considered. The radion couples to the trace of energy momentum tensor of the standard model (SM) with a strength suppressed only by a new scale ($Λ_ϕ$) of an order of the electroweak scale. In particular, the effective coupling of a radion to two gluons are enhanced due to the trace anomaly of QCD. Therefore, its production cross section at hadron colliders could be enhanced, and the dominant decay mode of a relatively light radion is $ϕ$ -> g g, unlike the SM Higgs boson case. We also present constr…
If the parameter $tan β$ of the minimal supersymmetric model is large, then $b$ and $τ$ Yukawa interactions are important. These can significantly modify the masses and decays of sparticles. We describe new calculations which allow a reliable exploration of large $tan β$ values, and discuss implications for collider experiments. For large values of $tan β$, charginos and neutralinos may dominantly decay to $τ$-leptons or $b$-quarks. The usual cross sections for multilepton signatures may be greatly reduced, but SUSY may be detectable via new signals involving $τ$'s or $b$'s in the final state.
The capability of the linear collider to discover and study the lightest neutral pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson P_0 of dynamical symmetry breaking models in the e+e- and gamma gamma modes is presented. For a number of technicolor N_TC=4, the discovery of the P_0 at an e+e- collider via the reaction e+e- -> gamma P_0 should be possible for an integrated luminosity of L=100 fb^-1 at E=500 GeV as long as m_{P_0} is not near m_Z. In the gamma gamma collider mode the gamma gamma -> P_0 -> b anti b signal should be very robust and could be measured with high statistical accuracy for a broad range of m…
Whether in nature exists Majorana neutrino is one of the most fundamental questions in physics. It is directly related to the violation of accidental $U(1)$-lepton number symmetry(LNV). Enormous efforts had been put into such test and among them, one conventional experiment is the neutrinoless double-beta decay ($0νββ$). On the other hand, there have been proposals of future electron-positron colliders such as International Linear Collider (ILC) for precision measurements of Higgs boson or new discovered beyond SM particles and it can potentially be converted into an electron-electron collider…
Smallness of neutrino masses can be explained by introducing a tiny vacuum expectation value of an extra-Higgs doublet which couples to right-handed neutrinos ($N_R$). This situation is naturally realized in $ν$-Two Higgs Doublet Model ($ν$THDM), where a TeV-scale seesaw mechanism can work well. We investigate observable phenomenology of $ν$THDM at LHC and ILC experiments. Charged Higgs boson ($H^\pm$) in $ν$THDM is almost originated from the extra-Higgs doublet and its coupling strength to neutrinos are not small. Then this model induces rich phenomenology at the LHC, for example, when $m_{H^…
Theories with extra dimensions of inverse TeV size (or larger) predict a multitude of signals which can be searched for at present and future colliders. In this paper, we review the different phenomenological signatures of a particular class of models, universal extra dimensions, where all matter fields propagate in the bulk. Such models have interesting features, in particular Kaluza-Klein (KK) number conservation, which makes their phenomenology similar to that of supersymmetric theories. Thus, KK excitations of matter are produced in pairs, and decay to a lightest KK particle (LKP), which i…
We study collider phenomenology of the so-called 331 model with $SU(3)_C\otimes SU(3)_L\otimes U(1)_X$ gauge structure at the large hadron collider, including single and double Higgs boson productions, Higgs boson rare decay, $Z^\prime$ boson production, new charged gauge boson pair production, and heavy quark pair production. We discuss all the possible collider signatures of new particle productions. Four benchmark 331 models, $β=\pm \sqrt{3}$ and $β=\pm 1/\sqrt{3}$, are studied in this work.
We review some collider phenomenology of unparticle physics, including real emissions and virtual exchanges of unparticle. Existing experimental constraints from collider physics as well as astrophysics are briefly discussed.
We identify and study the signatures of the recently proposed Higgsless models at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We concentrate on tests of the mechanism of partial unitarity restoration in the longitudinal vector boson scattering, which is crucial to the phenomenological success of any Higgsless model and does not depend on the model-building details. We investigate the discovery reach for charged massive vector boson resonances and show that all of the preferred parameter space will be probed with 100 inverse fb of LHC data. Unitarity restoration requires that the masses and couplings of t…
I briefly review the Higgs sector in the Standard Model and in its minimal supersymmetric extension. After summarizing the properties of the Higgs bosons, I will discuss the prospects for discovering these particles at the present colliders LEP2 and Tevatron, and at the next generation colliders LHC and a high--energy $e^+e^-$ linear collider. The possibilities of studying the properties of the Higgs bosons will be then summarized. [Short write-up of lectures given at the XXXVI Cracow School of Theoretical Physics, June 1996.]
Twin Higgs mechanism has recently been proposed to solve the ``little Hierarchy'' problem. We studied the implementation of twin Higgs mechanism in left-right models. We discussed the particle spectrum, and the collider phenomenology at the Large Hadron Collider.
Many models of Beyond the Standard Model physics contain particles that are charged under both Standard Model and Hidden Valley gauge groups, yet very little effort has been put into establishing their experimental signatures. We provide a general overview of the collider phenomenology of spin 0 or 1/2 mediators with non-trivial gauge numbers under both the Standard Model and a single new confining group. Due to the possibility of many unconventional signatures, the focus is on direct production with semivisible jets. For the mediators to be able to decay, a global $U(1)$ symmetry must be brok…
Central exclusive production (CEP) processes in high-energy hadron-hadron collisions provide an especially clean environment in which to measure the nature and quantum numbers (in particular, the spin and parity) of new resonance states. Encouraged by the broad agreement between experimental measurements and theoretical predictions based on the Durham approach, we perform a detailed phenomenological analysis of diphoton and meson pair CEP final states, paying particular attention to the theoretical uncertainties in the predictions, including those from parton distribution functions, higher-ord…
Measurement of the Yukawa interaction between the top quark and the Higgs boson should be useful to clarify the mechanism of fermion mass generation. We discuss the impact of non-standard interactions characterized by dimension-six operators on the effective top Yukawa coupling. The cross section of the process $e^-e^+ \to W^-W^+ ν\bar ν\to t \bar t ν\bar ν$ is calculated including these operators, and possible deviation from the standard model prediction is evaluated under the constraint from perturbative unitarity and current experimental data. We find that if the new physics scale is in a T…
We present results for matched distributions of a range of dijet event shapes at hadron colliders, combining next-to-leading logarithmic (NLL) accuracy in the resummation exponent, next-to-next-to leading logarithmic (NNLL) accuracy in its expansion and next-to-leading order (NLO) accuracy in a pure alpha_s expansion. This is the first time that such a matching has been carried out for hadronic final-state observables at hadron colliders. We compare our results to Monte Carlo predictions, with and without matching to multi-parton tree-level fixed-order calculations. These studies suggest that …
It is a challenge for the theoretical particle physicists to perform the phenomenology of the Beyond Standard Model (BSM) theories using advanced simulations which can mimic the experimental environment at the colliders as closely as possible. In collider phenomenology jet substructure is a concept that is used frequently to analyse the properties of the jets, characterised as a cluster of hadrons, which is often the end result of particle collisions at the colliders, such as Large Hadron Collider (LHC). A vast literature on jet substructure exists both from the theory and experimental point o…
We present MadAnalysis 5, a new framework for phenomenological investigations at particle colliders. Based on a C++ kernel, this program allows to efficiently perform, in a straightforward and user-friendly fashion, sophisticated physics analyses of event files such as those generated by a large class of Monte Carlo event generators. MadAnalysis 5 comes with two modes of running. The first one, easier to handle, uses the strengths of a powerful Python interface in order to implement physics analyses by means of a set of intuitive commands. The second one requires to implement the analyses in t…
Possible models of Yukawa interaction are discussed in the two Higgs doublet model (THDM) under the discrete symmetry imposed to avoid the flavor changing neutral current at the leading order. It is known that there are four types of such models corresponding to the possible different assignment of charges for the discrete symmetry on quarks and leptons. We first examine decay properties of Higgs bosons in each type of the models, and summarize constraints on the models from current experimental data. We then shed light on the differences among these models in collider phenomenology. In partic…
We study the impact of heavy vector-like leptons on several observables in collider and low-energy physics. These states, present in many well-motivated extensions of the Standard Model, can induce lepton flavour violation and non-standard Higgs decays. We study these effects in an effective model inspired by the composite Higgs scenario. After deriving bounds on the mass and production cross-section of the vector-like states using recent LHC data on multilepton searches, we discuss the modification of the Higgs decays to dilepton, diphoton and $Zγ$ final states as well as low-energy observabl…
We report computations of the production cross-section of longitudinal electroweak and Higgs boson pairs within Effective Field Theory for the Electroweak sector (including the Higgs). We have recently reported theoretical studies of gauge boson-gauge boson and Higgs-Higgs resonance production with various quantum numbers. We are now focusing on gauge boson-Higgs boson two-body axial-vector resonances and show a typical cross section. At last, we point out that photon-photon production has also been studied (in $e^-e^+$ as well as pp machines), as this is a very clean process allowing access t…
We investigate the inclusive top quark pair production in proton-proton and proton-antiproton collisions at high energies in the framework of kt-factorization QCD approach. Our study is based on the off-shell partonic subprocesses g*g* -> QQ and q*q* -> QQ, where the transverse momentum of both incoming quarks and gluons are taken into account. The unintegrated parton densities in a proton are determined by the Kimber-Martin-Ryskin prescription as well as the CCFM evolution equation. The conservative error analisys is performed and comparison with the results of traditional NLO pQCD calculatio…
Single production of t-quarks at the THERA and LinacxLHC based gamma-p colliders via anomalous gamma-u-t and gamma-c-t couplings have been studied. We show that gamma-p colliders will be a powerful tool for searching for the anomalous couplings.
Possible single productions of the fourth standard model family charged leptons via anomalous interactions at the future ep colliders are studied. Signatures of such anomalous processes and backgrounds are discussed in detail.
We explicitly show that split-universal extra dimension (split-UED), a recently suggested extension of universal extra dimension (UED) model, can nicely explain recent anomalies in cosmic-ray positrons and electrons observed by PAMELA and ATIC/PPB-BETS. Kaluza-Klein (KK) dark matters mainly annihilate into leptons because the hadronic branching fraction is highly suppressed by large KK quark masses and the antiproton flux agrees very well with the observation where no excess is found . The flux of cosmic gamma-rays from pion decay is also highly suppressed and hardly detected in low energy reg…
