We present new features of the transition from nuclear multifragmentation to neck fragmentation in semi-central heavy-ion collisions at Fermi energies as obtained within a microscopic transport model, Stochastic Mean Field (SMF). We show that along this transition specific hierarchy phenomena of some kinematic observables associated with the intermediate mass fragments develop. Probing in-medium spin-orbit potential with intermediate-energy heavy-ion collisions

Incorporating for the first time both the spin and isospin degrees of freedom explicitly in transport model simulations of intermediate-energy heavy-ion collisions, we observe that a local spin polarization appears during collision process. Opportunities for nuclear reaction studies at future facilities

Opportunities for investigations of nuclear reactions at the future nuclear physics facilities such as radioactive ion beam facilities and high-power laser facilities are considered. Post-accelerated radioactive ion beams offer possibilities for study of the role of isospin asymmetry in the reaction mechanisms at various beam energies. Fission barrier heights of neutron-deficient nuclei can be directly determined at low energies.
