We present results of the Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov calculations performed using nuclear energy density functionals based on regularized functional generators at next-to-leading and next-to-next-to-leading order. We discuss properties of binding energies and pairing gaps determined in semi-magic spherical nuclei. The results are compared with benchmark calculations performed for the functional generator SLyMR0 and functional UNEDF0.

Phonon-particle coupling effects in odd-even mass differences of semi-magic nuclei

A method to evaluate the particle-phonon coupling (PC) corrections to the single-particle energies in semi-magic nuclei, based on a direct solving the Dyson equation with PC corrected mass operator, is used for finding the odd-even mass difference between 18 even Pb isotopes and their odd-proton neighbors. The Fayans energy density functional (EDF) DF3-a is used which gives rather high accuracy of the predictions for these mass differences already on the mean-field level, with the average deviation from the existing experimental data equal to 0.389 MeV. $β^{2}$ corrections to spherical EDF calculations for root-mean-square charge radii

Root-mean-square charge radii are discussed in terms of spherical Energy Density Functional (EDF) models corrected for quadrupole deformations. Comparisons between experiment and theory are made for the absolute radii of all even-even nuclei, for the isotonic shift between cadmium and tin isotopes, the isotopic shifts of the calcium isotopes and the isotonic shift for nuclei with $ N=28 $. We conclude that the data are well described in this approach, except for the sharp rise just after the neutron magic numbers.

Energy Density Functional Approach to Superfluid Nuclei

We show that within the framework of a simple local nuclear energy density functional (EDF), one can describe accurately the one-- and two--nucleon separation energies of semi--magic nuclei. While for the normal part of the EDF we use previously suggested parameterizations, for the superfluid part of the EDF we use the simplest possible local form compatible with known nuclear symmetries.

Self-consistent description of single-particle levels of magic nuclei

Single-particle levels of seven magic nuclei are calculated within the Energy Density Functional (EDF) method by Fayans et al. Three versions of the EDF are used, the initial Fayans functional DF3 and its two variations, DF3-a and DF3-b, with different values of spin-orbit parameters. Comparison is made with predictions of the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock method with the HFB-17 functional. Self-consistent Theory of Finite Fermi Systems vs Skyrme-Hartree-Fock method. Spherical nuclei

Recent results of the Fayans energy density functional (EDF) for spherical nuclei are reviewed. A comparison is made with predictions of several Skyrme EDFs. The charge radii and characteristics of the first 2^+ excitations in semi-magic nuclei are briefly discussed. The single-particle spectra of doubly magic nuclei are considered in more detail. The phonon-particle coupling effects are analyzed including the so-called tadpole term.

Simple regularization scheme for multi-reference density functional theories

We propose to use two-body regularized finite-range pseudopotential to generate nuclear energy density functional (EDF) in both particle-hole and particle-particle channels, which makes it free from self-interaction and self-pairing, and also free from singularities when used beyond mean field. Occupation numbers of spherical orbits in self-consistent beyond-mean-field methods

We present a method to compute the number of particles occupying spherical single-particle (SSP) levels within the energy density functional (EDF) framework. These SSP levels are defined for each nucleus by performing self-consistent mean-field calculations. What can be learned from binding energy differences about nuclear structure: the example of delta V_{pn}

We perform an analysis of a binding energy difference called delta V_{pn}(N,Z) =- 1/4(E(Z,N)-E(Z,N-2)-E(Z-2,N)+ E(Z-2,N-2) in the framework of a realistic nuclear model. Using the angular-momentum and particle-number projected generator coordinate method and the Skyrme interaction SLy4, we analyze the contribution brought to delta V_{pn} by static deformation and dynamic fluctuations around the mean-field ground state. Suddenly shortened half-lives beyond $^{78}$Ni: $N=50$ magic number and high-energy non-unique first-forbidden transitions

$β$-decay rates play a decisive role in understanding the nucleosynthesis of heavy elements and are governed by microscopic nuclear-structure information. A sudden shortening of the half-lives of Ni isotopes beyond $N=50$ was observed at the RIKEN-RIBF. This is considered due to the persistence of the neutron magic number $N=50$ in the very neutron-rich Ni isotopes.
