Khovanov's Heisenberg category, moments in free probability, and shifted symmetric functions

On the definition of Heisenberg category

We revisit the definition of the Heisenberg category of central charge k. For central charge -1, this category was introduced originally by Khovanov, but with some additional cyclicity relations which we show here are unnecessary. For other negative central charges, the definition is due to Mackaay and Savage, also with some redundant relations, while central charge zero recovers the affine oriented Brauer category of Brundan, Comes, Nash and Reynolds. Towards a categorical boson-fermion correspondence

We construct the Heisenberg counterpart of a Clifford categorification. It is a modification of Khovanov's Heisenberg categorification. We express generators of the Heisenberg category as a complex of generators of the Clifford category. Certain vertex operators associated to the Clifford algebra are lifted to endofunctors of the Fock space categorification.

Categorification of Verma modules and indecomposable projective modules in the category $\mathcal I_{\mathfrak{g}}(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ for $\mathfrak{sl}_2$

We categorify Verma and indecomposable projective modules in the category $\mathcal I_{\mathfrak{g}}(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ for $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ using a tensor product decomposition theorem of T. J. Enright and work of J. Chuang and R. Rouquier, A. Licata and A. Savage (Hecke algebras, finite general linear groups, and Heisenberg categorification) and M. Khovanov (Heisenberg algebra and a graphical calculus).

An equivalence between truncations of categorified quantum groups and Heisenberg categories

We introduce a simple diagrammatic 2-category $\mathscr{A}$ that categorifies the image of the Fock space representation of the Heisenberg algebra and the basic representation of $\mathfrak{sl}_\infty$. We show that $\mathscr{A}$ is equivalent to a truncation of the Khovanov--Lauda categorified quantum group $\mathscr{U}$ of type $A_\infty$, and also to a truncation of Khovanov's Heisenberg 2-category $\mathscr{H}$. Hecke algebras, finite general linear groups, and Heisenberg categorification

We define a category of planar diagrams whose Grothendieck group contains an integral version of the infinite rank Heisenberg algebra, thus yielding a categorification of this algebra. Our category, which is a q-deformation of one defined by Khovanov, acts naturally on the categories of modules for Hecke algebras of type A and finite general linear groups. In this way, we obtain a categorification of the bosonic Fock space. We also develop the theory of parabolic induction and restriction functors for finite groups and prove general results on biadjointness and cyclicity in this setting.

A general approach to Heisenberg categorification via wreath product algebras

We associate a monoidal category $\mathcal{H}_B$, defined in terms of planar diagrams, to any graded Frobenius superalgebra $B$. This category acts naturally on modules over the wreath product algebras associated to $B$. To $B$ we also associate a (quantum) lattice Heisenberg algebra $\mathfrak{h}_B$. We show that, provided $B$ is not concentrated in degree zero, the Grothendieck group of $\mathcal{H}_B$ is isomorphic, as an algebra, to $\mathfrak{h}_B$.
