This paper provides some statistics for the coefficients of Russell- Type modular equations for the modular function, λ(τ). The results hold uniformly for all odd primes. They do not rely on any numerical evaluations of coefficients of q expansions of λ. The method relies on an internal structure of the coefficients of λ expressed in terms of multiplicative functions defined on integer partitions. The method may be extended to other types of modular equations.
We generalize the recent work of Viazovska by constructing infinite families of Schwartz functions, suitable for Cohn-Elkies style linear programming bounds, using quasi-modular and modular forms. In particular for dimensions $d \equiv 0 \pmod{8}$ we give the constructions that lead to the best sphere packing upper bounds via modular forms. In dimension $8$ and $24$ these exactly match the functions constructed by Viazovska and Cohn, Kumar, Miller, Radchenko, and Viazovska which resolved the sphere packing problem in those dimensions.
The modular invariant of rank 1 Drinfeld modules is introduced and used to formulate and prove an exact analog of the Weber-Fueter theorem for global function fields. The main ingredient in the proof is a version of Shimura's Main Theorem of Complex Multiplication for global function fields, which is also proved here.
This paper studies modular forms of rank four and level one. There are two possiblities for the isomorphism type of the space of modular forms that can arise from an irreducible representation of the modular group of rank four, and we describe when each case occurs for general choices of exponents for the T -matrix. In the remaining sections we describe how to write down corresponding differential equations satisfied by minimal weight forms, and how to use these minimal weight forms to describe the entire graded module of holomorphic modular forms. Unfortunately the differential equations that…
False theta functions closely resemble ordinary theta functions, however they do not have the modular transformation properties that theta functions have. In this paper, we find modular completions for false theta functions, which among other things gives an efficient way to compute their obstruction to modularity. This has potential applications for a variety of contexts where false and partial theta series appear. To exemplify the utility of this derivation, we discuss the details of its use on two cases. First, we derive a convergent Rademacher-type exact formula for the number of unimodal …
