We study spaces of ultradifferentiable functions which contain Gevrey classes. Although the corresponding defining sequences do not satisfy Komatsu's condition (M.2)', we prove appropriate continuity properties under the action of (ultra)differentiable operators. Furthermore, we study convenient localization procedure which leads to the concept of wave-front set with respect to our regularity conditions. As an application, we identify the standard projections of intersections/unions of wave-front sets as singular supports of suitable spaces of ultradifferentiable functions.
We review and extend the description of ultradifferentiable functions by their almost analytic extensions, i.e., extensions to the complex domain with specific vanishing rate of the $\bar \partial$-derivative near the real domain. We work in a general uniform framework which comprises the main classical ultradifferentiable classes but also allows to treat unions and intersections of such. The second part of the paper is devoted to applications in microlocal analysis. The ultradifferentiable wave front set is defined in this general setting and characterized in terms of almost analytic extensio…
We prove ultradifferentiable Chevelley restriction theorems for a wide range of ultradifferentiable classes. As a special case we find that isotropic functions, i.e., functions defined on the vector space of real symmetric matrices invariant under the action of the special orthogonal group by conjugation, possess some ultradifferentiable regularity if and only if their restriction to diagonal matrices has the same regularity.
For the ultradifferentiable weight sequence setting it is known that the Borel map which assigns to each function the infinite jet of derivatives (at 0) is surjective onto the corresponding weighted sequence class if and only if the sequence is strongly nonquasianalytic for both the Roumieu- and Beurling-type classes. Sequences which are nonquasianalytic but not strongly nonquasianalytic admit a controlled loss of regularity and we determine the maximal sequence for which such a mixed setting is possible for both types, hence get information on the controlled loss of surjectivity in this situa…
A plethora of spaces in Functional Analysis (Braun-Meise-Taylor and Carleman ultradifferentiable and ultraholomorphic classes; Orlicz, Besov, Lipschitz, Lebesque spaces, to cite the main ones) are defined by means of a weighted structure, obtained from a weight function or sequence subject to standard conditions entailing desirable properties (algebraic closure, stability under operators, interpolation, etc.) for the corresponding spaces. The aim of this paper is to stress or reveal the true nature of these diverse conditions imposed on weights, appearing in a scattered and disconnected way in…
