Tolman temperature once again: A derivation from gravitational surface action

The temperature distribution in presence of gravity, as measured by a local observer, is given by the Tolman expression. Here I derive the same only from the Gibbon's-Hawking-York surface term. In this process no explicit use of Einstein's equations of motion is done. Therefore, the present one is an off-shell analysis. Finally I discuss the importance and various implications of the derivation.

The effective Tolman temperature in curved spacetimes

We review a recently proposed effective Tolman temperature and present its applications to various gravitational systems. In the Unruh state for the evaporating black holes, the free-fall energy density is found to be negative divergent at the horizon, which is in contrast to the conventional calculations performed in the Kruskal coordinates. We resolve this conflict by invoking that the Kruskcal coordinates could be no longer proper coordinates at the horizon. Lemaitre-Tolman-Bondi Static Universe in Rastall-like Gravity

In this work, we try to obtain a stable Lemaitre-Tolman-Bondi (LTB) static universe, which is spherically symmetric and radially inhomogeneous. However, this is not an easy task, and fails in general relativity (GR) and various modified gravity theories, because the corresponding LTB static universes must reduce to the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) static universes. Integration of the Lane-Emden equation for relativistic anisotropic polytropes through Gravitational Decoupling: a novel approach

In this work we propose a novel approach to integrate the Lane-Emden equations for relativistic anisotropic polytropes.
