We study the inhomogeneous 8-vertex model (or equivalently the XYZ Heisenberg spin-1/2 chain) with all kinds of integrable quasi-periodic boundary conditions: periodic, $σ^x$-twisted, $σ^y$-twisted or $σ^z$-twisted. We show that in all these cases but the periodic one with an even number of sites $\mathsf{N}$, the transfer matrix of the model is related, by the vertex-IRF transformation, to the transfer matrix of the dynamical 6-vertex model with antiperiodic boundary conditions, which we have recently solved by means of Sklyanin's Separation of Variables (SOV) approach. We show moreover that, in all the twisted cases, the vertex-IRF transformation is bijective. This allows us to completely characterize, from our previous results on the antiperiodic dynamical 6-vertex model, the twisted 8-vertex transfer matrix spectrum (proving that it is simple) and eigenstates. We also consider the periodic case for $\mathsf{N}$ odd. In this case we can define two independent vertex-IRF transformations, both not bijective, and by using them we show that the 8-vertex transfer matrix spectrum is doubly degenerate, and that it can, as well as the corresponding eigenstates, also be completely characterized in terms of the spectrum and eigenstates of the dynamical 6-vertex antiperiodic transfer matrix. In all these cases we can adapt to the 8-vertex case the reformulations of the dynamical 6-vertex transfer matrix spectrum and eigenstates that had been obtained by $T$-$Q$ functional equations, where the $Q$-functions are elliptic polynomials with twist-dependent quasi-periods. Such reformulations enables one to characterize the 8-vertex transfer matrix spectrum by the solutions of some Bethe-type equations, and to rewrite the corresponding eigenstates as the multiple action of some operators on a pseudo-vacuum state, in a similar way as in the algebraic Bethe ansatz framework.
We study the dependence of entropy [per lattice site] of six-vertex model on boundary conditions. We start with lattices of finite size and then proceed to thermodynamic limit. We argue that the six-vertex model with periodic, anti-periodic and mixed boundary conditions produce the same free-energy in the thermodynamic limit. We have found fixed boundary conditions such that the entropy varies continously from zero to its value for periodic boundary condition. We have also shown that the physical quantities of the six-vertex model at the isotropic point does not change in the case of singular …
The square-lattice eight-vertex model with vertex weights $a,b,c,d$ obeying the relation $(a^2+ab)(b^2+ab) = (c^2+ab)(d^2+ab)$ and periodic boundary conditions is considered. It is shown that the transfer matrix of the model for $L=2n+1$ vertical lines and periodic boundary conditions along the horizontal direction possesses the doubly degenerate eigenvalue $Θ_n = (a+b)^{2n+1}$. This proves a conjecture by Stroganov from 2001. The proof uses the supersymmetry of a related XYZ spin-chain Hamiltonian. The eigenstates of the transfer matrix corresponding to $Θ_n$ are shown to be the ground states…
The spin-1/2 highest weight representations of the dynamical 6-vertex and the standard 8-vertex Yang-Baxter algebra on a finite chain are considered in this paper. For the antiperiodic dynamical 6-vertex transfer matrix defined on chains with an odd number of sites, we adapt the Sklyanin's quantum separation of variable (SOV) method and explicitly construct SOV representations from the original space of representations. We provide the complete characterization of eigenvalues and eigenstates proving also the simplicity of its spectrum. Moreover, we characterize the matrix elements of the identi…
We provide a rigorous treatment of the inverse scattering transform for the entire Toda hierarchy in the case of a quasi-periodic finite-gap background solution.
We investigate spectral properties of quantum graphs in the form of a periodic chain of rings with a connecting link between each adjacent pair, assuming that wave functions at the vertices are matched through conditions manifestly non-invariant with respect to time reversal. We discuss, in particular, the high-energy behavior of such systems and the limiting situations when one of the edges in the elementary cell of such a graph shrinks to zero. The spectrum depends on the topology and geometry of the graph. The probability that an energy belongs to the spectrum takes three different values r…
We consider certain degenerations of trigonal curves and hyperelliptic curves, which we call one step degeneration. We compute the limits of corresponding quasi-periodic solutions using the Sato Grassmannian. The mixing of solitons and quasi-periodic solutions is clearly visible in the obtained solutions.
We consider the quantum affine vertex algebra $\mathcal{V}_{c}(\mathfrak{gl}_N)$ associated with the rational $R$-matrix, as defined by Etingof and Kazhdan. We introduce certain subalgebras $\textrm{A}_c (\mathfrak{gl}_N)$ of the completed double Yangian $\widetilde{\textrm{DY}}_{c}(\mathfrak{gl}_N)$ at the level $c\in\mathbb{C}$, associated with the reflection equation, and we employ their structure to construct examples of quasi $\mathcal{V}_{c}(\mathfrak{gl}_N)$-modules. Finally, we use the quasi module map, together with the explicit description of the center of $\mathcal{V}_{c}(\mathfrak{…
In this paper we consider Wannier functions of quasi-periodic g-gap ($g\geq 1$) potentials and investigate their main properties. In particular, we discuss the problem of averaging underlying the definition of Wannier functions for both periodic and quasi-periodic potentials and express Bloch functions and quasi-momenta in terms of hyperelliptic $σ$ functions. Using this approach we derive a power series expansion of the Wannier function for quasi-periodic potentials valid at $|x|\simeq 0$ and an asymptotic expansion valid at large distance. These functions are important for a number of applie…
We quantify the coupling asymptotics for the Lyapunov-exponent of a one-frequency quasi-periodic Schrödinger operator with analytic potential sampling function. The result refines the well-known lower bound of the Lyapunov-exponent by Sorets and Spencer.
In this paper we give the \emph {quantization rules} to determine the normalized stationary solutions to the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation with quasi-periodic conditions on a given interval. \ Similarly to what happen in the Floquet's theory for linear periodic operators, also in this case some kind of band functions there exist.
We study the one-dimensional discrete quasi-periodic Schrodinger equation. We introduce the notion of variations of potential and use it to define "typical" potential. We show that for typical C^3 potential, if the coupling constant is large, then for most frequencies, the Lyapunov exponent is positive for all energies.
We present a set of smooth infinite energy global solutions (without spatial symmetry) to the non-integrable, nonlinear Schrödinger equations on $\Bbb R$. These solutions are space-time quasi-periodic with two frequencies each. Previous results [B2,1], and their generalizations [W2-4], are quasi-periodic in time, but periodic in space. This paper generalizes Bourgain's semi-algebraic set method [B3] to analyze nonlinear PDEs, in the non-compact space quasi-periodic setting on $\Bbb R$.
We construct space quasi-periodic standing wave solutions to the nonlinear Schrödinger equations on R^d for arbitrary d. This is a type of quasi-periodic nonlinear Bloch-Floquet waves.
This paper is focused on quasi-periodic wave solutions of (3+1) generalized BKP equation. Because of some difficulties in calculations of N=3 periodic solutions, hardly ever has there been a study on these solutions by using Rieamann theta function. In this study, we obtain one and two periodic wave solutions as well as three periodic wave solutions for (3+1) generalized BKP equation. Moreover we analyse the asymptotic behavior of the periodic wave solutions tend to the known soliton solutions under a small amplitude limit.
We prove that the $1-d$ quantum harmonic oscillator is stable under spatially localized, time quasi-periodic perturbations on a set of Diophantine frequencies of positive measure. This proves a conjecture raised by Enss-Veselic in their 1983 paper \cite{EV} in the general quasi-periodic setting. The motivation of the present paper also comes from construction of quasi-periodic solutions for the corresponding nonlinear equation.
By exploiting a recently developed connection between Heun's differential equation and the generalized associated Lamé equation, we not only recover the well known periodic solutions, but also obtain a large class of new, quasi-periodic solutions of Heun's equation. Each of the quasi-periodic solutions is doubly degenerate.
We discover that the distribution of (frequency and phase) resonances plays a role in determining the spectral type of supercritical quasi-periodic Schrödinger operators. In particular, we disprove the second spectral transition line conjecture of Jitomirskaya in the early 1990s.
We construct quasi-periodic solutions to the lattice nonlinear random Schroedinger equation on a set of potentials of positive measure via using a Lyapunov-Schmidt decomposition and a multiscale Newton scheme.
Written with respect to an appropriate Poisson structure, a partially integrable Hamiltonian system is viewed as a completely integrable system with parameters. Then, the theorem on quasi-periodic stability in Ref. [1] (the KAM theorem) can be applied to this system.
We consider CMV matrices, both standard and extended, with analytic quasi-periodic Verblunsky coefficients and prove Anderson localization in the regime of positive Lyapunov exponents. This establishes the CMV analog of a result Bourgain and Goldstein proved for discrete one-dimensional Schrödinger operators. We also prove a similar result for quantum walks on the integer lattice with suitable analytic quasi-periodic coins.
We consider the quasi-periodic Schrödinger operator with the non-degenerate Gevrey potential for the Diophantine frequency. We prove that if the coupling number of the potential is large, then the spectrum is homogeneous.
We study random perturbations of quasi-periodic uniformly discrete sets in the $d$-dimensional euclidean space. By means of Diffraction Theory, we find conditions under which a quasi-periodic set $X$ can be almost surely recovered from its random perturbations. This extends the recent periodic case result of Yakir from "Recovery the lattice from its random perturbations" IMRN 2020 (arXiv:200201508).
We construct multi-phase travelling waves which are periodic in time and quasi-periodic in the spatial variable for infinite nonlinear chains with nearest neighbor interactions. The main difficulty in the construction is a small divisor problem. We prove a KAM-type theorem for an infinite dimensional system following the approach of W. Craig and C. E Wayne which was further developed by J. Bourgain.
We consider a family of one frequency discrete analytic quasi-periodic Schrödinger operators which appear in [Bjer]. We show that this family provides an example of coexistence of absolutely continuous and point spectrum for some parameters as well as coexistence of absolutely continuous and singular continuous spectrum for some other parameters.
In this paper we study on $L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)$ the quasi-periodic Schrödinger operator $H=-Δ+ λV(x),$ where $V$ is a real analytic quasi-periodic function and $λ>0$. We first show that $H$ has no eigenvalues in \textit{low energy region}. We also provide in \textit{low energy region} the new phase transition parameter, i.e. the competition between the strength of coupling and the length for frequencies.
