The energy spectrum of planar polytype graphene-based superlattices has been investigated. It is shown that their energy spectrum undergoes pseudospin splitting due to the asymmetry of quantum wells forming the superlattice potential profile.

We study the electronic properties of GaAs nanowires composed of both the zincblende and wurtzite modifications using a ten-band k.p model. In the wurtzite phase, two energetically close conduction bands are of importance for the confinement and the energy levels of the electron ground state. These bands form two intersecting potential landscapes for electrons in zincblende/wurtzite nanostructures. We have theoretically investigated the properties of electronic transport in graphene heterostructures, which are consisted of two different graphene superlattices with one-dimensional periodic potentials. In graphene superlattices, bulk topological currents can lead to long-range charge-neutral flow and non-local resistance near Dirac points. A ballistic version of these phenomena has never been explored. Here, we report transport properties of ballistic graphene superlattices.
