Particle creation has been considered as a possible justification for the accelerated expansion of the universe, obeying the second law of thermodynamics, together with the possible existence of Dark Energy. This paper introduces the possibility that the destruction of baryonic and/or dark matter particles also verifies the second law of thermodynamics thanks to a particle exchange with dark energy. General equations for the variation of the number of particles in accelerated universes have been obtained. Finally, a new model of the universe has been developed which predicts dark energy properties as well as particle exchange processes between dark energy and baryonic and/or dark matter.
Within the framework of adiabatic regularization, we present a simple formalism to calculate number density and renormalized energy-momentum density of spin 1/2 particles in spatially flat FLRW spacetimes using an appropriate WKB ansatz for the adiabatic expansion for the field modes. The conformal and axial anomalies thus found are in exact agreement with those obtained from other renormalization methods. This formalism can be considered as an appropriate extension of the techniques originally introduced for scalar fields, applicable to fermions in curved space.
We present a dynamical analysis of the (classical) spatially flat and negative curved Friedmann-Lameitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) universes evolving, (by assumption) close to the thermodynamic equilibrium, in presence of a particles creation process, described by means of a realiable phenomenological approach, based on the application to the comoving volume (i. e. spatial volume of unit comoving coordinates) of the theory for open thermodynamic systems. In particular we show how, since the particles creation phenomenon induces a negative pressure term, then the choice of a well-grounded ansatz …
We fully solve the quantum geometry of $\Bbb Z_n$ as a polygon graph with arbitrary metric lengths on the edges, finding a $*$-preserving quantum Levi-Civita connection which is unique for $n\ne 4$. As a first application, we numerically compute correlation functions for Euclideanised quantum gravity on $\Bbb Z_n$ for small $n$. We then study an FLRW model on $\Bbb R\times\Bbb Z_n$, finding the same expansion rate as for the classical flat FLRW model in 1+2 dimensions. We also look at particle creation on $\Bbb R\times \Bbb Z_n$ and find an additional $m=0$ adiabatic no particle creation expan…
Quantum creation processes during the very rapid early expansion of the universe are believed to give rise to temperature anisotropies and polarization patterns in the CMB radiation. These have been observed by satellites such as COBE, WMAP, and PLANCK, and by bolometric instruments placed near the South Pole by the BICEP collaborations. The expected temperature anisotropies are well-confirmed. The B-mode polarization patterns in the CMB are currently under measurement jointly by the PLANCK and BICEP groups to determine the extent to which the B-modes can be attributed to gravitational waves f…
The present work deals with a cosmological model having particle creation mechanism in the framework of irreversible thermodynamics. In the second order non-equilibrium thermodynamical prescription, the particle creation rate is treated as the dissipative effect. The non-equilibrium thermodynamical process is assumed to be isentropic, and, as a consequence, the entropy per particle is constant, and, hence, the dissipative pressure can be expressed linearly in terms of the particle creation rate in the background of the homogeneous and isotropic flat FLRW model. By proper choice of the particle…
In this paper, we have studied flat Friedmann--Lema\^ıtre--Robertson--Walker (FLRW) model with modified Chaplygin gas (MCG) having equation of state $p_{m}=Aρ-% \frac{B}{ρ^{γ}}$, where $0\leq A\leq 1$, $0\leq γ\leq 1$ and $B$ is any positive constant in }${\footnotesize f(R,T)}${\footnotesize \ gravity with particle creation. We have considered a simple parametrization of the Hubble parameter $H$ in order to solve the field equations and discussed the time evolution of different cosmological parameters for some obtained models showing unique behavior of scale factor. We have also discussed the…
In a flat Friedmann-Lema\^ıtre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) geometry, we consider the expansion of the universe powered by the gravitationally induced `adiabatic' matter creation. To demonstrate how matter creation works well with the expanding universe, we have considered a general creation rate and analyzed this rate in the framework of dynamical analysis. The dynamical analysis hints the presence of a non-singular universe (without the big bang singularity) with two successive accelerated phases, one at the very early phase of the universe (i.e. inflation), and the other one describes the curren…
A flat FLRW cosmological model with perfect fluid comprising of variable Chaplygin gas has been studied in context of f(R; T) gravity with particle creation. The considered scale factors describe the accelerated expansion of universe due to the effective negative pressure produced during evolution of universe. The role of particle creation pressure on the cosmological parameters have been discussed in detail. By considering well accepted values of free parameters, the late time expansion of the universe with energy conditions have also been studied. The state-finder diagnostic for the consider…
The Einstein field equations for any spherically symmetric metric and a geodesic perfect fluid source are cast in a canonical simple form, both for Lorentzian metrics and for instantons. Both kinds of metrics are explicitly written for the Lema{\^ı}tre-Tolman-Bondi family and for a general $Λ$-Friedmann-Lema{\^ı}tre-Robertson-Walker universe. In the latter case (including of course the instanton version) we study whether the probability of quantum creation of our Universe vanishes or not. It is found, in accordance with previous results, that only the closed model can have a nonzero probabilit…

I describe the logical basis of the method that I developed in 1962 and 1963 to define a quantum operator corresponding to the observable particle number of a quantized free scalar field in a spatially-flat isotropically expanding (and/or contracting) universe. This work also showed for the first time that particles were created from the vacuum by the curved space-time of an expanding spatially-flat FLRW universe. The same process is responsible for creating the nearly scale-invariant spectrum of quantized perturbations of the inflaton scalar field during the inflationary stage of the expansio…
We explore the cosmological implications at effective level of matter creation effects in a dissipative fluid for a FLRW geometry; we also perform a statistical analysis for this kind of model. By considering an inhomogeneous Ansatz for the particle production rate we obtain that for created matter of dark matter type we can have a quintessence scenario or a future singularity known as little rip; in dependence of the value of a constant parameter, $η$, which characterizes the matter production effects. The dimensionless age of this kind of Universe is computed, showing that this number is gre…
The creation of ultra-light dark particles in the late-time FLRW spacetime provides a cosmological model in accordance with precise observational tests. The matter creation backreaction implies in this context a vacuum energy density scaling linearly with the Hubble parameter H, which is consistent with the vacuum expectation value of the QCD condensate in a low-energy expanding spacetime. Both the cosmological constant and coincidence problems are alleviated in this scenario. We also explore the opposite, high energy limit of the particle creation process. We show that it leads to a non-singu…
A constant-rate creation of dark particles in the late-time FLRW spacetime provides a cosmological model in accordance with precise observational tests. The matter creation backreaction implies in this context a vacuum energy density scaling linearly with the Hubble parameter, which is consistent with the vacuum expectation value of the QCD condensate in a low-energy expanding spacetime. Both the cosmological constant and coincidence problems are alleviated in this scenario. We discuss the cosmological model that arises in this context and present a joint analysis of observations of the first …
Dynamical systems analysis of a cosmological model with interacting Umami Chaplygin fluid in adiabatic particle creation mechanism: Some bouncing features
The description of spacetime is an fundamental problem of cosmology. We explain why the current assignments of spacetime geometries for $Ω_k$ of the Friedmann-Lema\^ıtre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) model are probably incorrect and suggest more useful descriptions. We show that $Ω_k$ represents not only curvature but the influence of matter density on the extent of spacetime between massive objects. Recent analyses of supernovae type Ia (SNe Ia) and HII/GEHR data with the FLRW model present the best fits with a small value for $Ω_m$ and a large $Ω_k$. These results are consistent with our Universe …
A numerical approach is considered for spherically symmetric spacetimes that generalize Lemaitre-Tolman-Bondi dust solutions to nonzero pressure ("LTB spacetimes"). We introduce quasi-local (QL) variables that are covariant LTB objects satisfying evolution equations of Friedman-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) cosmologies. We prove rigorously that relative deviations of the local covariant scalars from the QL scalars are non-linear, gauge invariant and covariant perturbations on a FLRW formal "background" given by the QL scalars. The dynamics of LTB spacetimes is completely determined by the Q…
A model of a discrete pregeometry on a microscopic scale is introduced. This model is a finite network of finite elementary processes. The mathematical description is a d-graph that is a generalization of a graph. This is the particular case of a causal set. The aim of this study is to construct the particles as emergent structures. The particles in this model must be cyclic processes. The general dynamics and several examples are given. A simple dynamics generates a hierarchy of cyclic processes. An algebraic representation of this dynamics is given. It is based on the algebra of creation and…
We investigate the creation of dark matter particles as a result of the decay of the scalar field in the framework of warm inflationary models, by using the irreversible thermodynamics of open systems with matter creation/annihilation. We consider the scalar fields, radiation and dark matter as an interacting three component cosmological fluid in a homogeneous and isotropic Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) Universe, in the presence of the curvature terms. The thermodynamics of open systems as applied together with the gravitational field equations to the three component cosmological …
Post-Newtonian theory was instrumental in conducting the critical experimental tests of general relativity and in building the astronomical ephemerides of celestial bodies in the solar system with an unparalleled precision. The cornerstone of the theory is the postulate that the solar system is gravitationally isolated from the rest of the universe and the background spacetime is asymptotically flat. The present article extends this theoretical concept and formulates the principles of celestial dynamics of particles and light moving in gravitational field of a localized astronomical system emb…
Penrose's 1979 Weyl curvature hypothesis (WCH) \cite{WCH} assumes that the universe began at a very low gravitational entropy state, corresponding to zero Weyl curvature, namely, the FLRW universe. This is a simple assumption with far-reaching implications. In classical general relativity the most general cosmological solutions of the Einstein equation are that of the BKL-Misner inhomogeneous mixmaster types. How could WCH and BKL-M co-exist? An answer was provided in the 80s with the consideration of quantum field processes such as vacuum particle creation, which was copious at the Planck tim…
