Discovering dark matter at high energy colliders continues to be a compelling and well-motivated possibility. Weakly interacting massive particles are a particularly interesting class in which the dark matter particles interact with the standard model weak gauge bosons. Neutralinos are a prototypical example that arise in supersymmetric models. In the limit where all other superpartners are decoupled, it is known that for relic density motivated masses, the rates for neutralinos are too small to be discovered at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), but that they may be large enough for a 100 TeV collider to observe. In this work we perform a careful study in the vector boson fusion channel for pure winos and pure higgsinos. We find that given a systematic uncertainty of 1% (5%), with 3000 fb$^{-1}$, the LHC is sensitive to winos of 240 GeV (125 GeV) and higgsinos of 125 GeV (55 GeV). A future 100 TeV collider would be sensitive to winos of 1.1 TeV (750 GeV) and higgsinos of 530 GeV (180 GeV) with a 1% (5%) uncertainty, also with 3000 fb$^{-1}$.
We investigate the constraints to the light neutralino dark matter scenario in the minimal supersymmetric standard model from available experimental observations such as decays of B and K meson, relic dark matter abundance, and the search for neutralino and Higgs production at colliders. We find that two regions of the MSSM parameter space fulfill all the constraints: a fine-tuned strip with large tan beta where the lightest neutralino can be as light as 8 GeV, and a low tan beta region providing a neutralino mass larger than 16 GeV. The large tan beta strip, which can be compatible with recen…
We analyse the production of charginos/neutralinos and sleptons at the hadron colliders Tevatron and LHC in the direct channels: $p\bar{p}/pp \to \tildeχ_i \tildeχ_j + X$ and $\tilde{\ell} \bar{\tilde{\ell}'} +X$. The cross sections for these reactions are given in next-to-leading order SUSY QCD. By including the higher-order corrections, the predictions become theoretically stable, being nearly independent of the factorization and renormalization scales. Since the corrections increase the cross sections, the discovery range for these particles is extended in the refined analysis.
The differential cross section of the chargino-neutralino production, q qbar --> chi+- chi0, followed by their decays into scalar tau leptons, chi+- chi0 --> (stau+- nu)(stau-+ tau+-) --> (stau+- nu)(stau-+ l+- nu nubar), is calculated including the effect of spin correlations. In the case where stau is long-lived, this final state can be fully reconstructed in a hadron-collider experiment up to a discrete two-fold ambiguity. Distributions of various kinematic variables can thus be observable and tell us about masses and spins of superparticles and also parity/CP violation in interactions by c…
We investigate the prospects for discovering charginos and neutralinos at a future $pp$ collider with $\sqrt{s} = 100$ TeV. We focus on models where squarks and sleptons are decoupled -- as motivated by the LHC data. Our initial study is based on models where Higgsinos form the main component of the LSP and $W$-inos compose the heavier chargino states ($M_2 > μ$), though it is straightforward to consider the reverse situation also. We show that in such scenarios $W$-inos decay into $W^\pm$, $Z$ and $h$ plus neutralinos almost universally. In the $W Z$ channel we compare signal and background i…
The search for the production of weakly-interacting SUSY particles at the LHC is crucial for testing supersymmetry in relation to dark matter. Decays of neutralinos into Higgs bosons occur over some significant part of the SUSY parameter space and represent the most important source of $h$ boson production in SUSY decay chains in the MSSM. We study h production in neutralino decays using scans of the phenomenological MSSM. Whilst in constrained MSSM scenarios the decay chi^0_2 -> h chi^0_1 is the dominant channel, this does not hold in more general MSSM scenarios. On the other hand, the chi^0_…
We study the different linear collider modes with regard to the determination of the gaugino mass parameter M_1. In a specific mSUGRA inspired scenario we compare four processes with polarized beams: (a) e+ e- --> neutralino_1 neutralino_2 --> neutralino_1 neutralino_1 e+ e-, (b) e- gamma --> neutralino_1 selectron_{L/R} --> neutralino_1 neutralino_1 e-, (c) gamma gamma --> chargino_1^+ chargino_1^- --> neutralino_1 neutralino_1 e+ e- neutrino_e anti-neutrino_e, (d) e- e- --> selectron_{L/R} selectron_{L/R} --> neutralino_1 neutralino_1 e- e-.
We map the parameter space for MSSM neutralino dark matter which freezes out to the observed relic abundance, in the limit that all superpartners except the neutralinos and charginos are decoupled. In this space of relic neutralinos, we show the dominant dark matter annihilation modes, the mass splittings among the electroweakinos, direct detection rates, and collider cross-sections. The mass difference between the dark matter and the next-to-lightest neutral and charged states is typically much less than electroweak gauge boson masses. With these small mass differences, the relic neutralino s…
Properties of Dirac neutralinos and the corresponding EW scalar gauge bosons, as predicted by the N=1/N=2 hybrid supersymmetric model, and prospects for their discovery at colliders are discussed.
It is shown how the fundamental gaugino and higgsino parameters of the chargino and neutralino system in the MSSM can completely be determined in high--precision experiments at e+e- linear colliders even if in their initial phase only the light charginos $\tildeχ^\pm_1$ and the light neutralinos $\tildeχ^0_1$ and $\tildeχ^0_2$ are kinematically accessible.
In recent years the search for dark matter has intensified with competitive bounds coming from collider searches, direct detection, and indirect detection. Collider searches at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) lack the necessary center-of-mass energy to probe TeV-scale dark matter. It is TeV-scale dark matter, however, that remains viable for many models of supersymmetry. In this paper, we study the reach of a 100 TeV proton-proton collider for neutralino dark matter and compare to 14 TeV LHC projections. We employ a supersymmetric simplified model approach and present reach estimates from mono…
We present a complete 1-loop study of the process $γγ\to \tchi^0_i \tchi^0_j$ and the predicted cross section in a $γγ$ Linear Collider. A suitable numerical code PLATONlc, valid for any set of real MSSM parameters, is released. This study and code are complementary to those suitable for Dark Matter detection through the inverse process $\tchi^0_i \tchi^0_j \to γγ$ describing neutralino-neutralino annihilation at rest, which were presented previously. If SUSY is realized in Nature, both codes should be very helpful in future astrophysical and collider studies of the neutralino sector.
Low energy supersymmetry with bilinear breaking of R-parity leads to a weak-scale seesaw mechanism for the atmospheric neutrino scale and a radiative mechanism for the solar neutrino scale. The model has striking implications for collider searches of supersymmetric particles. Assuming that the lightest SUSY particle is the lightest neutralino we demonstrate that (i) The neutralino decays inside the detector even for tiny neutrino masses. (ii) Measurements of the neutrino mixing angles lead to predictions for the ratios of various neutralino branching ratios implying an independent test of neut…
Bounds on cross section measurements of chargino pair production at LEP yield a bound on the chargino mass. If the GUT relation is assumed, the lightest neutralino must be heavier than $\approx 45 -50\GeV$. If no GUT relation is assumed, no lower bound on the neutralino mass exists. I derive mass bounds on the lightest neutralino from relic density measurements for relativistic and non-relativistic neutralinos and I derive bounds on the selectron mass from the observed limits on the cross section of the neutralino pair production process $e^+e^-\to \x{1}\x{2}$ at LEP, if the lightest neutralin…
We simulate precision measurements of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB) parameters at a 500 GeV e+e- linear collider in the scenario where a neutralino is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle. Information on the supersymmetry breaking and the messenger sectors of the theory is extracted from the measured sparticle mass spectrum and neutralino lifetime.
We study single superparticle productions at the linear collider, putting particular emphasis on resonant processes. We find that there exists a wide region of model parameters where single chargino and neutralino productions dominate over R-violating fermion-antifermion final states. For certain values of mu and M_2 it is possible to produce even the heavier charginos and neutralinos at significant rates, amplifying the total cross section and obtaining interesting chains of cascade decays. Effects from initial-state radiation are also included.
We point out that interesting signals of the non-strongly interacting sector of the supersymmetric standard model arise from the production of charginos and neutralinos via vector boson fusion (VBF) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In particular, if R-parity is violated, the hadronically quiet signals of charginos and neutralinos through direct production get considerably suppressed. We show that in such cases, the VBF channel can be useful in identifying this sector through clean and background-free final states.
In the CP-invariant supersymmetric theories, the steep S-wave (slow P-wave) rise of the cross section for any non-diagonal neutralino pair production in $e^+ e^-$ annihilation, $e^+e^- \to \tildeχ^0_i \tildeχ^0_j$ ($i \neq j$), near threshold is accompanied by the slow P-wave (steep S-wave) decrease of the fermion invariant mass distribution of the 3-body neutralino decay, $\tildeχ^0_i \to \tildeχ^0_j f\bar{f}$ ($f=l$ or $q$), near the end point. These selection rules, unique to the neutralino system due to its Majorana nature, guarantee that the observation of simultaneous sharp S-wave excita…
A feasibility study is presented to precisely measure the masses of charged sleptons and the lightest neutralino in $e^+e^-\to\smur\smur$ and $e^+e^-\to\stau_1\stau_1$ production. Different mSUGRA scenarios with small slepton-neutralino mass differences of a few GeV are invesigated. The analysis is based on a detailed simulation of the final state lepton energy spectra including background reactions and assuming realistic experimental conditions at the TESLA $e^+e^-$ Linear Collider. Effects on the mass resolutions due to beams colliding head-on or under a crossing angle are discussed.
Gluinos and neutralinos, supersymmetric partners of gluons and neutral electroweak gauge and Higgs bosons, are Majorana particles in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model [MSSM]. Decays of such self-conjugate particles generate charge symmetric ensembles of final states. Moreover, production channels of supersymmetric particles at colliders are characteristically affected by the Majorana nature of particles exchanged in the production processes. The sensitivity to the Majorana character of the particles can be quantified by comparing the predictions with Dirac exchange mechanisms. A consis…
We calculate expected event rates for direct detection of relic neutralinos as a function of parameter space of the minimal supergravity model. Numerical results are presented for the specific case of a $^{73}$Ge detector. We find significant detection rates ($R> 0.01$ events/kg/day) in regions of parameter space most favored by constraints from $B\to X_sγ$ and the cosmological relic density of neutralinos. The detection rates are especially large in regions of large $\tanβ$, where many conventional signals for supersymmetry at collider experiments are difficult to detect. If the parameter $\t…
We consider the production of neutralino, chargino, and charged Higgs boson pairs in the MSSM framework at future $e^+e^-$ colliders. We show that, for c.m. energies in the one TeV range and in a ``moderately'' light SUSY scenario, a combined analysis of the slopes of these production cross sections could lead to a strong consistency test involving the soft supersymmetric breaking parameters $M_1$, $M_2$, the Higgsino parameter $μ$, and $\tanβ$.
Given the recent constraints from the dark matter (DM) direct detections, we examine a light GeV-scale (2-30 GeV) neutralino DM in the alignment limit of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). In this limit without decoupling, the heavy CP-even scalar $H$ plays the role of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson while the other scalar $h$ can be rather light so that the DM can annihilate through the $h$ resonance or into a pair of $h$ to achieve the observed relic density. With the current collider and cosmological constraints, we find that such a light neutralino DM above 6 GeV can be …
We investigate signatures induced by a very light pseudoscalar Higgs in neutralino decays in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) and determine their observability at the LHC. We concentrate on scenarios which feature two light scalar Higgs bosons (one of them is SM-like with a mass of 125 GeV and a singlet-like lighter one) with a very light (singlet-like) pseudoscalar Higgs in the mass range 2m_tau < m_a1 < 2m_b. We consider neutralino-chargino pair production and the subsequent decay X_{2,3}-> X_1 a1, which leads to topologies involving multi-leptons and missing transve…
Supersymmetric monojets may be produced at the Large Hadron Collider by the process qg -> squark neutralino_1 -> q neutralino_1 neutralino_1, leading to a jet recoiling against missing transverse momentum. We discuss the feasibility and utility of the supersymmetric monojet signal. In particular, we examine the possible precision with which one can ascertain the neutralino_1-squark-quark coupling via the rate for monojet events. Such a coupling contains information on the composition of the neutralino_1 and helps bound dark matter direct detection cross-sections and the dark matter relic densi…
In the CP-violating Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, we study the pair production of neutralinos at center-of-mass energies around the heavy neutral Higgs boson resonances. For longitudinally polarized muon beams, we analyze CP asymmetries which are sensitive to the interference of the two heavy neutral Higgs bosons. Due to radiatively induced scalar-pseudoscalar transitions, the CP asymmetries can be strongly enhanced when the resonances are nearly degenerate, as in the Higgs decoupling limit. The Higgs couplings to the neutralino sector can then be analyzed in the presence of CP violat…
We probe the stau-neutralino co-annihilation domain of the parameter space allowed by the current experimental bounds on the light Higgs mass, the b-> s γdecay, and the amount of neutralino cold dark matter within the framework of minimal SUGRA models at a 500 GeV e+e- linear collider. The most favorable signals of SUSY are stau pair production and neutralino pair production where the small mass difference between the lighter stau and the lightest neutralino in the co-annihilation region is ~5-15 GeV and hence generates low-energy tau leptons in the final state. This small mass difference woul…
In this paper we investigated the Drell-Yan process of the light neutralino pair $\tildeχ^0_{i}\tildeχ^0_{j}~(i,j=1,2)$ productions at hadron colliders. We studied the dependence of the coupling properties of two light neutralino $\tildeχ^0_{1,2}$ on the three SUSY Lagrangian parameters $M_1$, $M_2$ and $μ$, and find that the production rate of $\tildeχ^0_1 \tildeχ^0_2$ pair will be dominated by the Higgsino-like couplings under the condition $μ\ll M_2$ and $μ\sim M_1$, while the productions of $\tildeχ^0_1\tildeχ^0_1$ and $\tildeχ^0_2\tildeχ^0_2$ pairs will be enhanced by the gaugino-like cou…
We examine the prospects for the detection of Higgs mediated lepton flavor violation at LHC and at a photon collider in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with large lepton flavor violating mass insertions in the $μ-τ$ sector constraining the parameter space with several experimental bounds. We find rates probably too small to be observed at future experiments if models have to accommodate for a neutralino relic density as measured by WMAP and explain the $(g-2)_μ$ anomaly: better prospects are found if these two constraints are applied only as upper bounds. The spin-independent neutral…
We discuss the production of charginos, neutralinos, and third generation sfermions in $e^+e^-$ annihilation in the energy range $\sqrt{s} = 0.2-1$ TeV. We present numerical predictions within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model for the cross sections and study the importance of beam polarization for the determination of the underlying SUSY parameters.
We consider the production of chargino, neutralino and charged Higgs boson pairs at future linear colliders for c. m. energies in the one TeV range within the MSSM. We compute the leading (double) and next-to leading (linear) supersymmetric logarithmic terms of the so-called "Sudakov expansion" at one-loop level. We show that a combined analysis of the slopes of the chargino, neutralino, and charged Higgs boson pair production cross sections would offer a simple possibility for determining \tanβfor large (\gsim 10) values, and the parameters M_1, M_2, and μ. This test could provide a strong co…
We point out that vector boson fusion (VBF) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) can lead to useful signals for charginos and neutralinos in supersymmetric scenarios where these particles are almost invisible. The proposed signals are just two forward jets with missing transverse energy. It is shown that in this way one can put by far the strongest constraint on the parameter space of a theory with anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking (AMSB) at the LHC. In addition, scenarios where the lightest neutralinos and charginos are Higgsino-like can give signals of the above type.
Neutralino pair production via photon-photon collisions is analyzed in the context of Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model at future linear collider. Since photon does not have self coupling, this process is only possible at Next-to-Leading order and all the possible terms are calculated for the photon-photon interaction, including box, triangles and quartic coupling diagrams. Numerical analysis of the production rates for $ \tildeχ^0_1 \tildeχ^0_1$, $ \tildeχ^0_1 \tildeχ^0_2$ and $ \tildeχ^0_2 \tildeχ^0_2$ are presented for four new distinct benchmark models which are presented in the light …
We present a summary of results for SUSY Simplified Model searches at future proton colliders: the 14 TeV LHC as well as a 33 TeV proton collider and a 100 TeV proton collider. Upper limits and discovery significances are provided for the gluino-neutralino (for both light and heavy flavor decays), squark-neutralino, and gluino-squark Simplified Model planes. Events are processed with the Snowmass combined detector and Standard Model backgrounds are computed using the Snowmass samples. We place emphasis on comparisons between different collider scenarios, along with the lessons learned regardin…
We examine the stau-neutralino coannihilation (CA) mechanism of the early universe. We use the minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) model and show that from measurements at the Large Hadron Collider one can predict the dark matter relic density with an uncertainty of 6% with 30 fb-1 of data, which is comparable to the direct measurement by Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe. This is done by measuring four mSUGRA parameters m0, m1/2, A0 and tan(beta) without requiring direct measurements of the top squark and bottom squark masses. We also provide precision measurements of the gaugino, squark, and li…
We investigate the production of charginos and neutralinos at a 500 GeV e^+e^- collider (NLC) and study their decays to the lightest neutralino, which then decays into multi-fermion final states through couplings which do not conserve R-parity. These couplings are assumed to affect only the decay of the lightest neutralino. Detailed analyses of the possible signals and backgrounds are performed for five selected points in the parameter space.
We investigate the detectability of neutralino Dark Matter via direct and indirect searches as well as collider signatures of an $SO(10)$ model with two intermediate scales. We compare the direct Dark Matter detection cross section and the muon flux due to neutralino annihilation in the Sun that we obtain in this model with mSUGRA predictions and with the sensitivity of current and future experiments. In both cases, we find that the detectability improves as the model deviates more from mSUGRA. In order to study collider signatures, we choose two benchmark points that represent the main phenom…
Supersymmetry (SUSY) is a theory that gives an explanation for the strong and electroweak interactions from the grand unification scale down to the weak scale. The search for supersymmetric particles still continues at full speed at the LHC without success. The main tasks at the ILC is complementing the LHC result and also search for new physics. In this study, the neutralino pair production via photon-photon collision is studied for the $\tilde{t}$-coannihilation scenario in the context of MSSM at the ILC. In the calculation, all the possible one-loop diagrams are taken into account for the p…
Assuming that no supersymmetric signature will be found at the upgraded LEP collider we derive lower bounds on the masses of the four neutralinos $\tildeχ_i^0$ in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We consider the recently published results from the search for the light chargino $\tildeχ^\pm_1$ and the next-to-lightest neutralino $\tildeχ^0_2$ at LEP1.5 and study the consequences of possible future lower $\tildeχ^\pm_1$ and $\tildeχ^0_2$ mass limits between 65 and 95 GeV. For a chargino mass bound of 66.8 GeV at LEP1.5, a massless neutralino is not excluded for $\tanβ< 1.2$. If …
Prospects are examined for the detection of a slow decay of the lightest neutralino (or any other longlived particles) at the CERN LHC and at Very Large Hadron Collider (VLHC). We first point out that such hadron colliders will become the ``neutralino factory'' producing 10^6--10^9 neutralinos/yr, if gluinos and/or squarks actually exist below O(1) TeV. The lightest neutralino (\neu), usually assumed to be stable, will be unstable if lighter superparticles such as the gravitino (\gra) or axino (\axi) exist, or R-parity is not conserved. The decay signal would, however, be missed in usual colli…
Once supersymmetric neutralinos $\tildeχ^0$ are produced copiously at $e^+e^-$ linear colliders, their characteristics can be measured with high precision. In particular, the fundamental parameters in the gaugino/higgsino sector of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model (MSSM) can be analyzed. Here we focus on the determination of possible CP--odd phases of these parameters. To that end, we exploit the electron/positron beam polarization, including transverse polarization, as well as the spin/angular correlations of the neutralino production $e^+ e^- \to \tildeχ^0_i \tildeχ…
We calculate the one-loop induced couplings of two gaugino-like neutralinos to the $Z$ and Higgs bosons in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. These couplings, which vanish at the tree level, can be generated through loops involving fermions and sfermions. We show that, while the neutralino contribution to the invisible $Z$ boson decay width remains small, the loop induced couplings to the lightest Higgs boson might be sufficiently large to yield a rate of invisible decays of this Higgs boson that should be detectable at future $e^+e^-$ colliders. We also study the implications of these…
We consider the collider phenomenology of split-supersymmetry models. Despite the challenging nature of the signals in these models the long-lived gluino can be discovered with masses above 2 TeV at the LHC. At a future linear collider we will be able to observe the renormalization group effects from split supersymmetry on the chargino/neutralino mixing parameters, using measurements of the neutralino and chargino masses and cross sections. This indirect determination of chargino/neutralino anomalous Yukawa couplings is an important check for supersymmetric models in general.
For the search for charginos and neutralinos in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) as well as for future precision analyses of these particles an accurate knowledge of their production and decay properties is mandatory. We evaluate the cross sections for the chargino and neutralino production at e+e- colliders in the MSSM with complex parameters (cMSSM). The evaluation is based on a full one-loop calculation of the production mechanisms e+e- -> cha_c cha_c' and e+e- -> neu_n neu_n', including soft and hard photon radiation. We mostly restricted ourselves to a version of our renor…
We study direct production of charginos and neutralinos at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. We simulate all channels of chargino and neutralino production using ISAJET 7.07. The best mode for observing such processes appears to be $pp\to\tw_1\tz_2\to 3\ell +\eslt$. We evaluate signal expectations and background levels, and suggest cuts to optimize the signal. The trilepton mode should be viable provided $m_{\tg}\alt 500-600$~GeV; above this mass, the decay modes $\tz_2\to\tz_1 Z$ and $\tz_2\to H_{\ell}\tz_1$ become dominant, spoiling the signal. In the first case, the leptonic branching fractio…
We present a complete phenomenological prospectus for thermal relic neutralinos. Including Sommerfeld enhancements to relic abundance and halo annihilation calculations, we obtain direct, indirect, and collider discovery prospects for all neutralinos with mass parameters $M_1,M_2,|μ| < 4$ TeV, that freeze out to the observed dark matter abundance, with scalar superpartners decoupled. Much of the relic neutralino sector will be uncovered by the direct detection experiments Xenon1T and LZ, as well as indirect detection with CTA. We emphasize that thermal relic higgsinos will be found by next-gen…
It was shown in a previous study that a lightest neutralino with mass below 30 GeV was severely constrained in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), unless it annihilates via a light stau and thus yields the observed dark matter abundance. In such a scenario, while the stau is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP), the charginos and the other neutralinos as well as sleptons of the first two families are also likely to be not too far above the mass bounds laid down by the Large Electron Positron (LEP) collider. As the branching ratios of decays of the charginos and the…
We explore the collider signatures of the Higgs sectors in singlet-extended MSSM models. We find that even with reduced couplings due to singlet mixing, a significant portion of the parameter spaces have a discoverable Higgs via traditional decay modes or via invisible decays (directly to neutralinos or through cascade decays to neutralinos and neutrinos). For illustrative points in parameter space we give the likelihood of Higgs discovery. In cases where neither traditional nor invisible modes can discover the Higgs, the neutralino sector may provide evidence for the extended models.
Neutralinos $\tildeχ^0$ in supersymmetric theories, the spin--1/2 Majorana--type superpartners of the U(1) and SU(2) neutral electroweak gauge bosons and SU(2) neutral Higgs bosons, are expected to be among light supersymmetric particles so that they can be produced copiouslyvia direct pair production and/or from cascade decays of other sparticles such as sleptons at the planned Large Hadron Collider and the prospective International Linear Collider. Considering the prospects of having both highly polarized neutralinos and possibility of reconstructing their decay rest frames, we provide a sys…
According to the helicity conservation (HCns) theorem, the sum of the helicities should be conserved, in any 2-to-2 processes in MSSM with R-parity conservation, at high energies; i.e. all amplitudes violating this rule, must vanish asymptotically. The realization of HCns in gluon-fusion to charginos or neutralinos is studied, at the one loop electroweak order (EW), and simple high energy expressions are derived for the non-vanishing helicity conserving (HC) amplitudes. These are very similar to the corresponding expressions for $gg \to W^+W^-, ZZ, γZ, γγ$ derived before. Asymptotic relations …
We present a complete and extensive analysis of associated chargino and neutralino production in the framework of a supersymmetric theory augmented by left-right symmetry. This model provides additional gaugino and higgsino states in both the neutral and charged sectors, thus potentially enhancing new physics signals at the LHC. For a choice of benchmark scenarios, we calculate cross sections for 7, 8 and 14 TeV. We then simulate events expected to be produced at the LHC, and classify them according to the number of leptons in the final state. We devise methods to reduce the background and com…
We study the decays of the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) in models with spontaneously broken R-parity. We focus on the two cases that the LSP is either a bino or a neutral singlet lepton. We work out the most important phenomenological differences between these two scenarios and discuss also how they might be distinguished from explicit R-Parity breaking models. In both cases we find that certain ratios of decay branching ratios are correlated with either the solar or the atmospheric (and reactor) neutrino angle. The hypothesis that spontaneous R-Parity violation is the source of the …
We investigate the QCD effects in the associated production of the chargino and the neutralino, $\tildeχ^\pm_{1}$ and $\tildeχ^0_{2}$, in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) at both the Fermilab Tevatron and the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We include the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections (including supersymmetric QCD) and the threshold resummation effects. Our results show that, compared to the NLO predictions, the threshold resummation effects can increase the total cross sections by 3.6% and 3.9% for the associated production of $\tildeχ^+_{1}\tildeχ^0_{2}$ and $…
We review the status of the phenomenology of light neutralinos in an effective Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM) at the electroweak scale, in light of new results obtained at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. First we consider the impact of the new data obtained by the CMS Collaboration on the search for the Higgs boson decay into a tau pair, and by the CMS and LHCb Collaborations on the branching ratio for the decay $B_s \rightarrow μ^{+} + μ^{-}$. Then we examine the possible implications of the excess of events found by the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations in a search …
We study the potential of an $e^+e^-$ linear collider to search for neutralino-neutralino-photon production. Our analysis shows that this signal is not viable under realistic expectations for electron beam polarization due to large Standard Model backgrounds. Such a search would be possible only if beam polarizations of near 100% could be achieved.
In the N=1 supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model, neutralinos associated in supermultiplets with the neutral electroweak gauge and Higgs bosons are, as well as gluinos, Majorana fermions. They can be paired with the Majorana fermions of novel gaugino/scalar supermultiplets, as suggested by extended N=2 supersymmetry, to Dirac particles. Matter fields are not extended beyond the standard N=1 supermultiplets in N=1/N=2 hybrid supersymmetry to preserve the chiral character of the theory. Complementing earlier analyses in the color sector, central elements of such an electroweak scenario …
We study the process of the association production of chargino and neutralino including the NLO QCD and the complete one-loop electroweak corrections in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model(MSSM) at the Fermilab Tevatron and the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In both the NLO QCD and one-loop electroweak calculations we apply the algorithm of the phase-space slicing(PSS) method. We find that the NLO QCD corrections generally increase the Born cross sections, while the electroweak relative corrections decrease the Born cross section in most of the chosen parameter space.…
We study the neutralino being the Lightest Supersymmetric Particle (LSP) as a cold Dark Matter (DM) candidate with a mass less than 40 GeV in the framework of the Next-to-Minimal-Supersymmetric-Standard-Model (NMSSM). We find that with the current collider constraints from LEP, the Tevatron and the LHC, there are three types of light DM solutions consistent with the direct/indirect searches as well as the relic abundance considerations: (i) A1, H1-funnels, (ii) stau coannihilation and (iii) sbottom coannihilation. Type-(i) may take place in any theory with a light scalar (or pseudo-scalar) nea…
We consider neutralino production and decay e^+e^ --> chi^0_i chi^0_j, chi^0_j --> chi^0_1 f \bar{f} at a linear collider with transverse e^+ and e^- beam polarization. We propose CP asymmetries by means of the azimuthal distribution of the produced neutralinos and of that of the final leptons, while taking also into account the subsequent decays of the neutralinos. We include the complete spin correlations between production and decay. Our framework is the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with complex parameters. In a numerical study we show that there are good prospects to observe these…
We present brief synopses of supersymmetric models where either the neutralino composition or its mass is adjusted so that thermal relic neutralinos from the Big Bang saturate the measured abundance of cold dark matter in the universe. We first review minimal supergravity (mSUGRA), and then examine its various one-parameter extensions where we relax the assumed universality of the soft supersymmetry breaking parameters. Our goal is to correlate relic-density-allowed parameter choices with expected phenomena in direct, indirect and collider dark matter search experiments. For every non-universa…
