Closed orbits in quotient systems

We study the relationship between pairs of topological dynamical systems $ (X,T) $ and $ (X',T') $, where $ (X',T') $ is the quotient of $ (X,T) $ under the action of a finite group $ G $. We describe three phenomena concerning the behaviour of closed orbits in the quotient system, and the constraints given by these phenomena. We find upper and lower bounds for the extremal behaviour of closed orbits in the quotient system in terms of properties of $ G $ and show that any growth rate in between these bounds can be achieved.

Partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms with uniformly center foliation: the quotient dynamics

We show that a partially hyperbolic $C^1$ -diffeomorphism $f : M \to M$ with a uniformly compact $f$ -invariant center foliation $F^c$ is dynamically coherent. Sparse Equidistribution of Unipotent Orbits in Finite-Volume Quotients of $\text{PSL}(2,\mathbb R)$, with appendices

In this note, we consider the orbits $\{pu(n^{1+γ})|n\in\mathbb N\}$ in $Γ\backslash\text{PSL}(2,\mathbb R)$, where $Γ$ is a non-uniform lattice in $\text{PSL}(2,\mathbb R)$ and $u(t)$ is the standard unipotent group in $\text{PSL}(2,\mathbb R)$. Bounded orbits of Diagonalizable Flows on finite volume quotients of products of $SL_2(\mathbb{R})$

We prove a number field analogue of W. M. Schmidt's conjecture on the intersection of weighted badly approximable vectors and use this to prove an instance of a conjecture of An, Guan and Kleinbock. On GIT quotients of the symplectic group, stability and bifurcations of symmetric orbits

Quotient manifolds of flows

This paper investigates which smooth manifolds arise as quotients (orbit spaces) of flows of vector fields. Such quotient maps were already known to be surjective on fundamental groups, but this paper shows that every epimorphism of countably presented groups is induced by the quotient map of some flow, and that higher homology can also be controlled.
