A systematic analysis of the near-threshold enhancement in the $\bar pp$ invariant mass spectrum seen in the decay reactions $J/ψ\to x \bar pp$ and $ψ(3686) \to x \bar pp$ $(x = γ,\, ω,\, ρ,\, π,\, η)$ is presented. The enhancement is assumed to be due to the $\bar NN$ final-state interaction (FSI) and the pertinent FSI effects are evaluated in an approach that is based on the distorted-wave Born approximation. For the $\bar NN$ interaction a recent potential derived within chiral effective field theory and fitted to results of a partial-wave analysis of $\bar pp$ scattering data is considered and, in addition, an older phenomenological model constructed by the Jülich group. It is shown that the near-threshold spectrum observed in various decay reactions can be reproduced simultaneously and consistently by our treatment of the $\bar pp$ FSI. It turns out that the interaction in the isospin-1 $^1S_0$ channel required for the description of the $J/ψ\to γ\bar pp$ decay predicts a $\bar NN$ bound state.
Spectroscopy of excited baryons with strangeness $S=-2$ is stimulated by recent experimental developments. Here we focus on the $Ξ(1620)$ which locates close to the $\bar{K}Λ$ threshold. To take into account the threshold effects, we construct the coupled-channels meson-baryon scattering amplitude where the $Ξ(1620)$ appears as a resonance. We demonstrate that the $\bar{K}Λ$ threshold effects distort the peak of the $Ξ(1620)$ resonance from the simple Breit-Wigner distribution.
The energy dependence of the cross sections of $p\bar p$, $n\bar n$, and meson production in $e^+e^-$ annihilation in the vicinity of the $p\bar p$ and $n\bar n$ thresholds is studied. The proton-neutron mass difference and the $p\bar p$ Coulomb interaction are taken into account. The values of the cross sections are very sensitive to the parameters of the optical potential. It is shown that the commonly accepted factorization approach for the account of the Coulomb interaction does not work well enough in the vicinity of the threshold due to the finite size of the optical potential well.
Cross sections for the charm-production reactions $\bar p p \to \bar Λ_c^- Σ_c^+$, $\bar Σ_cΣ_c$, $\bar Ξ_cΞ_c$, and $\bar Ξ_c'Ξ_c'$ are presented, for energies near their respective thresholds. The results are based on a calculation performed in the meson-exchange framework in close analogy to earlier studies of the Jülich group on the strangeness-production reactions $\bar p p \to \bar ΛΣ$, $\bar ΣΣ$, $\bar ΞΞ$ by connecting the two sectors via SU(4) flavor symmetry. The cross sections are found to be in the order of $0.1 - 1$ $μb$ at energies of $100$ MeV above the respective thresholds, fo…
The near-threshold $e^+e^- \to Λ\barΛ$ reaction is studied with the assumption that the production mechanism is due to a near-$Λ\barΛ$-threshold bound state. The cross section of $e^+e^- \to Λ\barΛ$ reaction is parametrized in terms of the electromagnetic form factors of $Λ$ hyperon, which are obtained with the vector meson dominance model. It is shown that the contribution to the $e^+e^- \to Λ\barΛ$ reaction from a new narrow state with quantum numbers $J^{PC}=1^{--}$ is dominant for energies very close to threshold. The mass of this new state is around 2231 MeV, which is very close to the ma…
We analyze the origin of the structure observed in the reaction $J/ψ\to γη'π^+π^-$ for $η'π^+π^-$ invariant masses close to the antiproton-proton ($\bar pp$) threshold, commonly associated with the $X(1835)$ resonance. Specifically, we explore the effect of a possible contribution from the two-step process $J/ψ\to γ\bar NN \to γη'π^+π^-$. The calculation is performed in distorted-wave Born approximation which allows an appropriate inclusion of the $\bar NN$ interaction in the transition amplitude. The $\bar NN$ amplitude itself is generated from a corresponding potential recently derived withi…
Nucleon-antinucleon optical potential, which explains the experimental data for the processes $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow p\bar{p}$ and $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow\mbox{pions}$ near the threshold of $p\bar{p}$ pair production, is suggested. To obtain this potential we have used the available experimental data for $p\bar{p}$ scattering, $p\bar{p}$ pair production in $e^{+}e^{-}$ annihilation, and the ratio of electromagnetic form factors of a proton in the timelike region. It turns out that final-state interaction via the optical potential allows one to reproduce the available experimental data with good…
We use the Paris nucleon-antinucleon optical potential for explanation of experimental data in the process $e^+e^- \rightarrow p\bar p$ near threshold. It turns out that final-state interaction due to Paris optical potential allows us to reproduce available experimental data. It follows from our consideration that the isoscalar form factor is much larger than the isovector one.
We investigate the charmed baryon production reaction $p\bar{p}\rightarrowΛ_c\barΛ_c$ in an effective Lagrangian approach. Besides the $t$-channel $D^0$ and $D^{*0}$ mesons exchanges, the $s$-channel $Y(4630)$ meson exchange is taken into account. For the total cross sections, the $D^0$ and $D^{*0}$ mesons provide minor background contributions, while the $Y(4630)$ state gives a clear peak structure with the magnitude of 10 $μ$b at center of mass energy 4.63 GeV. Basing on the results, we suggest that the reaction of $p\bar{p}\rightarrowΛ_c\barΛ_c$ can be used to search for the $1^{--}$ charmo…
A general algorithm for handling the energy dependence of hadron-nucleon amplitudes in the nuclear medium, consistently with their density dependence, has been recently applied to antikaons, eta mesons and pions interacting with nuclei. Here we apply this approach to antiprotons below threshold, analyzing experimental results for antiprotonic atoms across the periodic table. It is also applied to antiproton and antineutron interaction with nuclei up to 400 MeV/c, comparing with elastic scattering and annihilation cross sections. The underlying $\bar pN$ scattering amplitudes are derived from t…
A new mechanism of baryon-antibaryon production via nonperturbative double pair creation in intermediate mesons is proposed and the theory contains no fitting parameters. It is shown, that near-threshold resonances are responsible for enhancements in electroproduction cross sections: $ψ(4S)$ for $Λ^+_c Λ^-_c, Υ(6S)$ for $Λ_b \bar Λ_b$. An admixture of intermediate $D$- wave resonances produces angular dependence in differential cross section and can explain unusual behavior of the ratio $G_E/G_M$ for the proton.
We study hadronic molecules formed by a heavy meson and a nucleon, DN and D*N (BbarN and Bbar*N) systems. Respecting the heavy quark symmetry and chiral symmetry, we consider the DN-D*N (BbarN-Bbar*N$) mixing induced by the one boson exchange potential including the tensor force. We find many bound and resonant states with J^P=1/2^\pm, 3/2^\pm, 5/2^\pm and 7/2^- in isospin singlet channels, while only a few resonant states with J^P=1/2^- in isospin triplet channels. The analysis of DN and D*N (BbarN and Bbar*N) molecules will be useful to study mass spectra of excited charmed (bottom) baryons …
$\bar{K}$-nucleon interactions are investigated in the framework of coupled-channels dynamics based on the next-to-leading order chiral SU(3) meson-baryon effective Lagrangian. A recent determination of the 1s shift and width of kaonic hydrogen enables us to set accurate constraints on the coupled-channels meson-baryon amplitudes in the strangeness $S=-1$ sector. Theoretical uncertainties in the subthreshold extrapolation of the coupled-channels amplitudes are discussed. Using this framework, we give predictions for $K^-$-neutron interactions and for the spectrum of the $Λ(1405)$ resonance. A …
The recent LHCb data on $B_s^0\to J/ψp\bar{p}$ revealed a new pentaquark-like $P_c(4337)^+$ structure, while finding no evidence for $P_c(4312)^+$ discovered earlier in $Λ_b^0\to J/ψp K^-$. Though puzzling, the data actually offer an important hint to understand the nature of the pentaquark candidates. We develop a model to analyze the $B_s^0\to J/ψp\bar{p}$ data. We find that a $Σ_c\bar{D}$ one-loop mechanism causes a threshold cusp that fits well the $P_c(4337)^+$ peak. Also, the $Σ_c\bar{D}$ and $Λ_c\bar{D}^{*}$ threshold cusps interfere with each other to reproduce an oscillating behavior …
We analyze the origin of the structures observed in the reactions $e^+e^-\to 3(π^+π^-)$, $2(π^+π^-π^0)$, $ωπ^+π^-π^0$, and $e^+e^-\to 2(π^+π^-)π^0$ around the antiproton-proton ($\bar pp$) threshold. We calculate the contribution of the two-step process $e^+e^-\to \bar NN \to$ multipions to the total reaction amplitude. The amplitude for $e^+e^-\to \bar NN$ is constrained from near-threshold data on the $e^+e^-\to \bar pp$ cross section and the one for $\bar NN \to$ multipions can be likewise fixed from available experimental information, for all those $5 π$ and $6π$ states. The resulting ampl…
The differential decay rates of the processes $J/ψ\to p\bar{p}π^{0}$ and $J/ψ\to p\bar{p}η$ close to the $p\bar{p}$ threshold are calculated with the help of the $N\bar{N}$ optical potential. The same calculations are made for the decays of $ψ(2S)$. We use the potential which has been suggested to fit the cross sections of $N\bar{N}$ scattering together with $N\bar{N}$ and six pion production in $e^{+}e^{-}$ annihilation close to the $p\bar{p}$ threshold. The $p\bar{p}$ invariant mass spectra is in agreement with the available experimental data. The anisotropy of the angular distributions, whi…
High-statistics data on the reactions $γγ\to K^+K^-$ and $γγ\to K^0\bar K^0$ are the last missing link in investigations of the light scalar mesons $f_0(980)$ and $a_0(980)$ in photon-photon collisions. It is believed that $f_0(980)$ and $a_0(980)$ resonances exhibit their four-quark structure in these reactions in a vary peculiar way. The work estimates the feasibility of measurements of scalar contributions near $γγ\to K^+K^-$ and $γγ\to K^0\bar K^0$ reaction thresholds at modern colliders.
We report on a theoretical study of the hidden charm $N^*_{c \bar{c}}$ states in the $γp \to \bar{D}^{*0} Λ^+_c$ reaction near threshold within an effective Lagrangian approach. In addition to the contributions from the $s$-channel nucleon pole, the $t$-channel $D^0$ exchange, the $u$-channel $Λ^+_c$ exchange and the contact term, we study the contributions from the $N^*_{c \bar{c}}$ states with spin-parity $J^P = 1/2^-$ and $3/2^-$. The total and differential cross sections of the $γp \to \bar{D}^{*0} Lambda^+_c$ reaction are predicted. It is found that the contributions of these $N^*_{c \bar…
The observed enhancement of $p\bar p$-production near the threshold in radiative decays of $J/ψ$ and $e^+e^-$-annihilations can be explained with final state interactions among the produced $N\bar N$ system, where the enhancement is essentially determined by $N\bar N$ elastic scattering amplitudes. We propose to use an effective theory for interactions in a $N\bar N$ system near its threshold. The effective theory is similar to the well-known one for interactions in a $NN$ system but with distinctions. It is interesting to note that in the effective theory some corrections to scattering amplit…
Anomalous isotopic symmetry breaking in the $η(1405)\to f_0(980)π^0\toπ^+π^-π^0$ decay through a mechanism featuring anomalous Landau thresholds in the form of logarithmic triangle singularities, i.e., through the $η(1405)\to (K^*\bar K+\bar K^*K)\to(K^+K^-+K^0\bar K^0)π^0\to f_0(980)π^0 \toπ^+π^- π^0$ transition, has been analyzed. It has been shown that this effect can be correctly quantified only by taking into account the nonzero $K^*$ width. Different scales of isotopic symmetry breaking associated with the $K^+-K^0$ mass difference are compared.
We revisit the compositeness theorem proposed by Weinberg in an effective field theory (EFT) and explore criteria which are sensitive to the structure of $S$-wave threshold states. On a general basis, we show that the wave function renormalization constant $Z$, which is the probability of finding an elementary component in the wave function of a threshold state, can be explicitly introduced in the description of the threshold state. As an application of this EFT method, we describe the near-threshold line shape of the $D^{\ast 0}\bar D^0$ invariant mass spectrum in $B\rightarrow D^{\ast 0}\bar…
By investigating the very closely lied $D_{s1}\bar{D}_{s}+c.c.$ and $D_{s0}\bar{D}^*_{s}+c.c.$ thresholds at about 4.43 GeV we propose that the $ψ(4415)$ and $ψ(4160)$ can be mixing states between the dynamic generated states of the strong $S$-wave $D_{s1}\bar{D}_{s}+c.c.$ and $D_{s0}\bar{D}^*_{s}+c.c.$ interactions and the quark model states $ψ(4S)$ and $ψ(2D)$. We investigate the $J/ψK\bar{K}$ final states and invariant mass spectrum of $J/ψK$ to demonstrate that nontrivial lineshapes can arise from such a mechanism. This process, which goes through triangle loop transitions, is located in t…
Hadron electromagnetic form factor in the time-like region at the boundary of the physical region is considered. The energy behavior of the form factor is shown to be determined by the strong hadron-antihadron interaction. Imaginary parts of the scattering lengths for $p\bar{p}$, $Λ\barΛ$, $Λ\barΣ^0 (\barΛΣ^0)$ and $Σ^0\barΣ^0$ are estimated. Developed approach enables us to estimate imaginary part of the scattering volume from $D^*\bar{D^*}$ experimental data. The form factor energy behavior away from the threshold is obtained within a semiphenomenological model of hadron-antihadron interacti…
We theoretically investigate the origin of the peak structure around the $K^{-} p p$ threshold observed in the in-flight ${}^{3}\text{He} ( K^{-} , \, Λp ) n$ reaction in the recent E15 experiment at J-PARC. For this purpose, we consider two scenarios to produce the peak. One is that the $Λ(1405)$ is generated but it does not correlate with $p$, and the uncorrelated $Λ(1405) p$ system subsequently decays into $Λp$. The other one is that the $\bar{K} N N$ bound state is indeed generated and decays into $Λp$. As a result, the experimental signal is qualitatively well reproduced in the $\bar{K} N…
We study the inclusive photoproduction of $T_{{\bar c}{\bar c}}(3875)^-$ mesons (which are the antiparticles of the doubly charmed tetraquarks $T_{cc}(3875)^+$ discovered recently by the LHCb Collaboration) from nuclei in the near-threshold energy region within the nuclear spectral function approach by considering incoherent direct ($γp(n) \to D^+(D^0){T_{{\bar c}{\bar c}}(3875)^-}Λ^+_c$) photon--nucleon $T_{{\bar c}{\bar c}}(3875)^-$ creation processes as well as five possible different scenarios for their internal structure with the main goal of clarifying the possibility to decipher this st…
Dynamical study of ${\bf QQ-\bar u \bar d}$ mesons
The $Λ_c(2590) Σ_c$ system can exchange a pion near the mass-shell. Owing to the opposite intrinsic parity of the $Λ_c(2590)$ and $Σ_c$, the pion is exchanged in S-wave. This gives rise to a Coulomb-like force that might be able to bind the system. If one takes into account that the pion is not exactly on the mass shell, there is a shallow S-wave state, which we generically call the $Y_{cc}(5045)$ and $Y_{c\bar c}(5045)$ for the $Λ_c(2590) Σ_c$ and $Λ_c(2590) \barΣ_c$ systems respectively. For the baryon-antibaryon case this Coulomb-like force is independent of spin: the $Y_{c\bar c}(5045)$ ba…
On polarization of strange baryons in reactions p + p -> p + Lambda^0 + K^+ and p + p -> p + Sigma^0 + K^+ near thresholds
J. A 9,425(2000))。
When the $\bar{K}N$ system is submerged in nuclear medium the $\bar{K}N$ scattering amplitude and the final state branching ratios exhibit a strong energy dependence when going to energies below the $\bar{K}N$ threshold. A sharp increase of $\bar{K}N$ attraction below the $\bar{K}N$ threshold provides a link between shallow $\bar{K}$-nuclear potentials based on the chiral $\bar{K}N$ amplitude evaluated at threshold and the deep phenomenological optical potentials obtained in fits to kaonic atoms data. We show the energy dependence of the in-medium $K^{-}p$ amplitude and demonstrate the impact …
We make use of a unitarized coupled-channel model to analyze the mass distribution data of final states in production processes of $X(4260)$. By analyzing the analytical structures of the decay amplitudes, we find that the line shape of $Z_c(3900)$ signal is related to the combined effect of a pair of near-threshold "shadow" poles and the $(D\bar{D}^*)^\pm$ thresholds, in which the third-sheet pole might provide a dominant contribution. As all the coupled channels effects are tuning off, the trajectories of these two poles suggest that the $Z_c(3900)$ might originate from the attractive intera…
In this paper it is proposed that the charged charmonium-like state $Z_c(3900)$ is a resonance above the threshold from the $D\bar{D}^*$ interaction. The $D\bar{D}^*$ interaction is described by the one-boson exchange model with light meson exchanges plus a short-range $J/ψ$ exchange. The scattering amplitude is calculated within a Bethe-Salpeter equation approach and the poles near the $D\bar{D}^*$ threshold are searched. In the isoscalar sector, two poles found under the $D\bar{D}^*$ threshold, i.e., bound states, have the quantum numbers $I^G(J^{PC})=0^-(1^{+-})$ and $0^+(1^{++})$. The latt…
Within the framework of the improved isospin dependent quantum molecular dynamics (ImIQMD) model, the dynamics of strangeness (K$^{0,+}$, $Λ$ and $Σ^{-,0,+}$) production in heavy-ion collisions near threshold energies is investigated systematically, in which the strange particles are considered to be mainly produced by the inelastic collisions of baryon-baryon and pion-baryon. The collisions in the region of supra-saturation densities of the dense baryonic matter formed in heavy-ion collisions dominate the yields of strangeness production. The total multiplicities as functions of incident ener…
We have studied the $γp \to K^0 Σ^+$ reaction in the energy region around the $K^* Λ$ and $K^* Σ$ thresholds, where the CBELSA/TAPS cross section shows a sudden drop and the differential cross section experiences a transition from a forward-peaked distribution to a flat one. Our coupled channel model incorporates the dynamics of the vector meson-baryon interaction which is obtained from the hidden gauge formalism. We find that the cross section in this energy region results from a delicate interference between amplitudes having $K^* Λ$ and $K^*Σ$ intermediate states. The sharp downfall is dict…
We discuss the simultaneous dispersive analyses of $πK\to πK$ and $ππ\to K \bar{K}$ scattering data and the $κ/K^*_0(700)$ resonance. The unprecedented statistics of present and future Hadron Experiments, modern Lattice QCD calculations, and the wealth of new states and decays, require such precise and model-independent analyses to describe final state interactions. We review the existing and often conflicting data and explain in detail the derivation of the relevant dispersion relations, maximizing their applicability range. Next, we review and extend the caveats on some data, showing their i…
