Scaling of conformal blocks and generalized theta functions over $\bar{M}_{g,n}$

Veronese quotient models of $\bar{M}_{0,n}$ and conformal blocks

The moduli space $\bar{M}_{0,n}$ of Deligne-Mumford stable n-pointed rational curves admits morphisms to spaces recently constructed by Giansiracusa, Jensen, and Moon that we call Veronese quotients. We study divisors on $\bar{M}_{0,n}$ associated to these maps and show that these divisors arise as first Chern classes of vector bundles of conformal blocks.

$sl_2$ conformal block divisors and the nef cone of $\bar{M}_{0,n}$

We show that $sl_2$ conformal block divisors do not cover the nef cone of $\bar{M}_{0,6}$, or the $S_9$-invariant nef cone of $\bar{M}_{0,9}$. A key point is to relate the nonvanishing of intersection numbers between these divisors and F-curves to the nonemptiness of some explicitly defined polytopes. Several experimental results and some open problems are also included.

$sl_n$ level 1 conformal blocks divisors on $\bar{M}_{0,n}$

We study a family of semiample divisors on the moduli space $\bar{M}_{0,n}$ that come from the theory of conformal blocks for the Lie algebra $sl_n$ and level 1. The divisors we study are invariant under the action of $S_n$ on $\bar{M}_{0,n}$. We compute their classes and prove that they generate extremal rays in the cone of symmetric nef divisors on $\bar{M}_{0,n}$. In particular, these divisors define birational contractions of $\bar{M}_{0,n}$, which we show factor through reduction morphisms to moduli spaces of weighted pointed curves defined by Hassett.

Indefinite theta series and generalized error functions

Theta series for lattices with indefinite signature $(n_+,n_-)$ arise in many areas of mathematics including representation theory and enumerative algebraic geometry. Their modular properties are well understood in the Lorentzian case ($n_+=1$), but have remained obscure when $n_+\geq 2$. Let $X$ be a smooth, pointed Riemann surface of genus zero, and $G$ a simple, simply-connected complex algebraic group. Associated to a finite number of weights of $G$ and a level is a vector space called the space of conformal blocks, and a vector bundle of conformal blocks over $\bar{\text{M}}_{0,n}$. Strange Duality of Verlinde spaces for G_2 and F_4

We prove that the pull back of the canonical theta divisor for E_8-bundles at level one induces a strange duality between Verlinde spaces for G_2 and F_4 at level one on smooth curves of genus g. We also prove a parabolic generalization in terms of conformal blocks and write down identities between conformal blocks divisors in the Picard group of \bar-M_{g,n}.

Nonvanishing of conformal blocks divisors on $\bar{M}_{0,n}$

We introduce and study the problem of finding necessary and sufficient conditions under which a conformal blocks divisor on $\bar{M}_{0,n}$ is nonzero. We give necessary conditions in type A, which are sufficient when theta and critical levels coincide. We show that divisors are subject to additive identities, dependent on ranks of the underlying bundle. These identities amplify vanishing and nonvanishing results and have other applications.
